Chapter 1 the true believer
Olive and her little brother scott sat on the couch Finnish up disney's pinocchio. As the credits rolled, Olive got up from the couch and stretched her arms out as a yawn escaped her lips.
"Can we watch another one, Olive?" Scott asked his older sister.
"Not tonight bus, I'm. Really tired and I have a big test tomorrow."
Scott gave his older sister a sad look but understood his sister needed to be up early tomorrow.
Olive is a 14 year old girl in eighth grade. She has very fair skin and golden brown hair with hazelnut eyes. She's a believer in all things magic and mystery. Even though she was told magic doesn't exist, she knew that it did somewhere. She always reminded her young brother that magic is real, and that believing was key to having any dream come true.
Scottie, aka scott is a 9 year old in fourth grade. He has dark brown hair with a medium skin tone as well as blue eyes.
Their parents were out for the night, so Olive was left to take care of scott.
Olive pressed the off button on the tv then looked at the clock.
"8:30! no wonder I'm tired." She turned to her brother who was still sitting on the couch. "Alright you little goofball, let's get you off to bed."
"But I'm not," Scott let out a smal, yawn. "Sleepy."
"And there's your proof." She crossed over to the living room lights and switched them off. This made her little brother rush out of the room, strate upstairs. If there was one thing little Scottie was afraid of, it was the dark. Olive smiled at her little stunt and also made her way upstairs.
She walked into her little brother's bedroom. She took a seat on his bed and waited for him to come out of the bathroom. When he came out, he was in a two piece Toy story themed pajamas. Which was his favorite movie. He hopped into bed and pulled the toy story themed blanket over himself.
"Hay Olive?"
"Yes"
"If you had one wish what would it be?"
Olive thought for a moment, she never really thought about it before. She lived in a great town, went to an amazing school, and had the world's most amazing family. She didn't really want anything more, or did she?
"I'm not quite sure. But if I did, you know I can't tell you."
"But why?"
"You know why. If I tell you then it won't come true." She scorched closer to her brother and placed her hand on his shoulder. "You see, a dream is a wish your heart makes. When you're fast asleep. In dreams you will lose your heart aches, whatever you wish for you keep. Have faith in your dream that someday, your rainbow will come smiling though." Scot started to close his eyes as his stee sang "no matter how your heart is grieving" she kissed her brother's forehead "if you keep on believing" she then got up and headed for the door "a dream that you wish will come true!"
She flipped the light switch causing dozens of glowing stars to show on his ceiling. Once she was sure her brother was asleep, she made her way to her own room. It was a simple bedroom like her brothers, just purple Instead of blue.
Her bed had a princess inspired bedspread. There was also a burow and a small walk-in closet.
She pulled down two piece pajamas that were plain purple and changed into them. She was about to hop into bed when something caught her eye. Outside her bedroom window, she noticed a twinkling star dancing across the night sky. Walking over Olive watched for a moment as it shined high above the clouds. She the. Began to ponder about what her brother said before.
"It's worth a shot" putting her hands together, resting her elbows on the windowsill, she shut her eyes tight and began to wish. "Star light, Star bright first star i see tonight, I wish I may I wish I might have the wish I wish tonight. I wish I could go to where all the magic lives. I wish to go to the world of Disney." Olive reopened her eyes to see the star had vanished.
"That's strange, it was there a moment ago." She muttered to herself but shrugged it off. Getting up, she walked over to her bed. She pulled the soft blanket back before hopping in and pulling it back over herself. She then drifted off to sleep.
(Hours later)
tap* *tap* *tap* came from Olive window. Again *tap* *tap* *tap* but Olive didn't respond. Louder *tap* *tap* *tap* this time waking her. Confused, Olive sat up and rubbed her eyes. Glancing at her digital clock, she realized it was only 4 in the morning. *tap* *tap* *tap* came even louder from her window.
"Coming, coming" said a sleepy Olive. She got up from her bed and made her way over to the window. Upon opening the window a small speck of light flew in along with a warm fall breeze.
Olive scratched her head, not sure what the small speck was till it flew into her face. It was a small fairy with blond hair and a green dress. Her eyes widened in shock at what was infront of her.
"Tinker bell?" She asked.
The fairy nodded, ringing out as she began tugging on olives' hair, trying to say they needed to Leave.
"Ok I'm dreaming, this is a dream, how could you be real" she spoke softly as to not wake her family. Tink was becoming more angry at this point and tugged on olives earlobe. She let out a small yelp "or maybe I'm not."
Tink then flew over to the window and pointed to the sky. "Are you trying to tell me that I need to go with you?" The small fairy nodded.
"I can't, I've got things to do tomorrow. Not to mention I have to look after my brother-" Tink wasn't taking no for an answer, so she flew over and sprinkled Olive with pixie dust.
Olive then lifted off the ground into a floating state, her eyes widened at the sight. "Pixie dust, but that's.." she stopped realizing that if this were real, then she should refrain from using words like impossible or not real, especially around fairy's.
She then thought back to her wish last night. Is it possible that it was coming true? Was she really gonna go to the real Disney? Was she really gonna skip this once an a lifetime opportunity?
Olive pondered on this before coming to a conclusion. "Alright, I'll come with you." She then floated over to the window and opened it so she could fit though. The two then flew out of Olive's bedroom, pausing for a moment to look at her house.
Was she doing the right thing? Should she have left a note? Should she take her little brother with her? But she could ponder long as tink grabbed her finger and pulled her along.
She watched as they came close to a star she had only dreamt about, the second star to the right. As the two flew through the star, the world around her began to change. It spun and collided with colors. It felt like she was inside a kaleidoscope. Eventually things felt normal as she could see an island forming in front of her. At first she thought it was neverland, but she didn't picture it to be this big. But as she got close she realized it was something more. The island was covered with castles, villages, even small islands off the coast. Olive became mesmerized by it all, even called out a few of the places. "There arendelle, and toontown, oh and over there is agrabah."
But tink wasn't leading her to any of those places, Instead she was leading her to the far upper edge of the island known as the dark forest. It was dark and spooky, everything was making Olive uncomfortable. Nestled in the middle of the forest, was a tall wizard's tower. Tink led Olive through a window at the top of the tower. Inside was a wooden door and a spiral staircase.
Tink flew through the small lock in the door, leaving Olive alone on the other side. Not wanting to go off alone, Olive waited for tink to return.
On the other side of the door, Tink was giveing a wizard a piece of her mind. This wizard was in a blue robe with a gray beard. He had a blue hat with white stars on it.
"Did you bring her Tink?" The wizard asked. Tink nodded, continuing to ring in her fairy language about how stubborn and miserable Olive was to deal with.
The wizard was not happy with how Tink was speaking of Olive. "Now Tink you know why she's needed. Without her our kingdom is doomed." Tink rolled her eyes but understood why she had brought Olive.
The wizard crossed the room over to the door and opened it. On the other side stood Olive, who was shocked to see this wizard of the likes she had never seen. The two stared at each other for a good minute or so before the wizard spoke. "You may come in Miss Olive."
Olive's eyes popped open, how did he know her name?
Not wanting to be rude, yet being cautious she entered the room. It was small, made of stone bricks. It had a small window on the opposite side of the room with a rather large wooden table.
Tink stood on the table, next to a large map that was sprawled across it.
"I'm sure you're wondering why you're here olive." The wizard stated as he shut the door.
"I'm sorry, who are you?" Olive asked, turning to face the wizard.
"I am the almighty Yensid!" He stated, crossing over to the table.
Olive followed as she tried to recall the name. Eventually she remember we're she had heard it "fantasia?" The wizard nodded, gesturing to the map.
Olive then looked down at the map. It was a layout of the island she had just flown over.
"As to why you're here, there has been a rise in havoc in our forsaken island, and only the truest believer can stop them from continuing to ruin our island." Yensid flooded his arms into his long robe.
"Purest believer? Havoc? Them?"
"The truest believer is you my dear. As for your question, they will be answered in do time. But now your training must comens as soon as possible!"
"Training? I'm sorry but I can't do training. I have to get back home, I've got a lot to do and don't have time for playing in a dream world!"
Tinks face turned bright red as she flew into olives face, ring words that should not be repeated.
"Tink, that's enough!" Yensid shouted, gesturing for Tink to sit back down befor turning back to Olive.
"That is your choice Olive, but know that you would be fighting for a good cause. Not to menchu you possess more knowledge than any other human, as well as the magic of the truest believer!"
Olive pondered on this for a moment, on one hand she would get to explore the island and see Disney for what it was. On the other hand she had family and friends who were probably worried sick about her. She then decided on a question that would hopefully help her make a decision. "If I do choose to stay, I want to know what evil would I be fighting against?"
Yensid waved his hand, conjuring up a crystal ball. He then places a hand on either side allowing a picture to form. "The evil is the villain in our world." The picture became clearer as a room full of Disney villains began to form. "They have taken the underworld as their main meeting grounds. They are planning to take over this kingdom once and for all! But to do that, they would need the powers of the truest believer."
"But why should they need me to take over this world? Also wouldn't I be safer at home then in this world?"
Yensid shook his head no "if you go back, they can still captur you and turn your heart from pure happiness." The crystal ball changed again to show a heart full of darkness. "To one of hatred! Once they do that, they will have full control over you. As for what they would use it for, I can only assume the worst!" He moves his hands away from the crystal ball causing the image to fade.
He then gestured back to the map. "In each kingdom lie's a way in defeating their villainous group. Whether that be a spell or an object. If you can retrieve every one from each kingdom before the villains can, we will be able to defeat them once and for all!"
"But if the villains get their hands on them, won't they be useless to them?"
"It depends on the item, but the less you have the harder it will be for you to fulfill your destiny." He then looked Olive dead in the eyes "you may go home if you wish, know you're in more danger there then you are here. We won't be able to protect you from whatever may happen in your realm. But if you choose to stay, there will be many friends that are willing to help you every step of the way."
Olive knew that either decision would come with a consequence. If she stayed she would be fighting a war. If she left she could be kidnaped and turned into a dark soldier. Yet at the same time this was a once and a lifetime opportunity, saving an island filled with all her favorite characters. "Alright I'll stay and help!"
Yensid smiled at her decision and waved his hand changing olives pjs into a more appropriate outfit. She now wore black pants with a long sleeve skinny dress that was purple with white fuzz trim. She also had some brown boots.
"You may start wherever you see fit, but might I suggest starting your mission where our popularity starts to rise." At that comment Olive narrowed it down to two options. Those being steamboat Willy or Snow White. She thought Snow White would be a better place to start.
"Tink I think you should go with her, make sure she stays on course." Yensid suggested but Instead tink made a few harsh comments as she flew out of the tower. Yensid rolled his eyes "before I forget" he waved his hand once more conjuring up a small pouch, a small red gem, and a satchel.
"That puch contains pixie dust, use it wisely!" And that gem shall be the source of we're your powers will come from. Any magical spell or power you collect will reside inside of it." He waved his hand and the gem attacked itself to her dress. The satchel also appeared around her right shoulder.
"Be sure not to lose any of these items, now go young hero, our kingdom awaits you!"
"But what if I-" before she could finish Yensid varnished into a puff of smoke "need to contact you.." with nothing left here she jumped into the air and flew out the window towards Snow White's kingdom.
