Idol

One night. One night was all it took to change Molly's life. The adoring fans, followers that want to be her, reaching out to the world using her voice. One song was all it took to make her famous online. A pop sensation almost overnight and it's all such a rush.

Molly's overjoyed about the influence she has. The ability to enhappify the world and change people's lives for the better and she can use her talent to do this. To make people smile when they're feeling sad or lost. She can be their light.

Molly sits on the couch in her dressing room, reminiscing about the incredible experience she just had singing and dancing on stage. Scrolling through her phone and reading all of the positive comments and messages. It's a dream come true.

Soon enough the exhaustion hits Molly as she starts to drift off to sleep. Then Andrea comes in and sits next to her, beaming with energy.

"Molly! You were amazing out there! I knew you would be. I mean who couldn't love how cute and bubbly you are. And your singing voice! Adorable. You're a star!" Andrea said.

Molly smiles. Doing her best. She's pretty tired from the concert, but keeps up her positive energy.

"Thanks Andrea! I couldn't have done this without your help and connections. Together, we've reached so many people. We can enhappify the world! Spreading joy and positivity with meaningful songs. I love singing and making people happy, so this is a dream come true! Thank you…" Molly replied.

Just thinking about everything that's happened, all of the happiness and excitement Molly saw in peoples faces as she sang on stage, she starts to cry tears of joy.

Andrea notices this and puts her arm around Molly. She knows how much she cares about helping others.

"Aw, you're so sweet! It's no problem at all. You're talented and deserve all of the joy you're feeling in this moment. Take it in, girl!" Andrea replied.

Molly nods, wiping her tears away as she takes a deep breath, enjoying this moment. Then that wave of exhaustion hits again, so she lies down on the couch. Finally crashing after all of the excitement.

"Andrea…I think I need to get some rest now…Can…Can you get my parents? Tonight was fun, but I think it's time to go home." Molly said.

"Say no more. I'll go get your parents. We can worry about planning for the next concert tomorrow and…" Andrea replied.

Andrea stops talking when she sees Molly's already fast asleep. So she puts a blanket over her and lets her rest as she heads out.

Molly wakes up back on stage in her sparkly purple dress. Bright colorful lights beaming down on her. She's lying down on the cold hard ground alone, confused as to how she got there. Then she hears a familiar voice in the distance.

"Molly, you're in danger. You need to wake up!" Libby said.

Molly gets up and looks around. Trying to see, but the bright lights surrounding her are making that extremely challenging.

"Libby, where are you?" Molly asked.

No answer.

Molly slowly walks towards where the stage ends and looks down. No one is there. It's just her and the stage, alone.

Molly puts her hand out and a shield pops up, seemingly out of nowhere. She looks up and realizes it's an iridescent bubble circling around the stage. Then she pulls her hand back after feeling an electric shock.

"Okay…I probably shouldn't mess with that thing. I don't know what's going on, but Libby's here somewhere. I need to find her!" Molly said.

Molly looks around, determined to find Libby or anyone who can help her.

Suddenly, a guitar and headset microphone appear in the middle of the stage in a burst of pink glittery light.

Curious, Molly walks to the middle of the stage and puts on the microphone headset and guitar. She looks out at the auditorium, now filled with what looks like colorful silhouettes of people.

"I see what's going on here. Well, I might as well give the people what they want. Time to enhappify!" Molly said.

With a smile on her face, Molly starts playing the guitar and singing one of her favorite songs. It's more melancholic than her usual cotton candy pop songs, and that's why she loves it. It shows how she's really feeling, deep down behind her cheerful facade.

Molly sings her song, Ghosts Aren't The Enemy. One she wrote for Ollie to help him understand ghosts from her perspective. It's also a song where she can be emotionally vulnerable. Crying but still smiling while she sings her heart out.

Once the song is over, Molly looks out at the people for their reaction. She's shocked to see the auditorium is empty again and puts the guitar down. The sadness she's tried to hold back from loneliness takes over as she starts to cry.

Then another familiar voice speaks up.

"Don't cry, Molly…We're all here for you." Libby said.

Molly looks out again and sees her family and friends standing right below the stage. Pete, Sharon, Scratch, Darryl, Libby, Ollie, and Andrea. They're smiling, but she can see the concern in their eyes.

Molly runs towards them, nearly jumping off the stage, but she's stopped by the shield. She falls back after feeling the shock wave hit her and lies down on the floor.

Then the determination in her fires up as Molly's never been one to just give up, so she runs up to the shield again and puts her hand out. Feeling the electric shock and watching as it glows bright pink around her, but she fights through the pain.

"Don't worry, I'll find a way to get back to you all. I promise. Love you!" Molly said.

Molly pulls her hand back from the shield. She couldn't take the burning feeling anymore. She looks at her hand. Thankfully, there's no burn mark, just a fiery phantom pain that's slowly fading away.

Looking back at the guitar, Molly decides to sing another song. One that will surely be powerful enough to break the shield around her.

Molly looks back at her family with a determined and somewhat forced smile. She's got an idea running through that scheming head of hers, and it's bound to set her free.

Molly picks up the guitar and starts singing her Snow Day song. She remembers that day clearly. Her state of mind was out of control and she was dying from being out in the cold yet ignoring all the warning signs. The scariest part was how she wasn't afraid of what could happen to her as long as she had the perfect snow day.

Still, Molly continues to sing despite being exhausted out of her mind.

I can't give up! I need to get through to them. What happened? Come on, song…Use your powerful chaotic energy to break through to them! Please…

Molly keeps singing. She can feel her energy leaving her with every word and movement. Colorful orbs of energy start leaving her body, mostly pink ones from her heart. They hit the force field but only make it stronger.

Molly's family and friends can see that she's fading fast and yell for her to stop singing, but it's useless. She can't hear them. So she keeps singing away and, on the last note, pulls a pink heart shaped orb out of her chest and throws it to them as a loving gesture.

"Love you!" Molly said.

Suddenly, the shield breaks like crystal glass and disappears into a colorful mist.

Molly lies there centerstage, motionless.

The family and Libby run over to Molly, tears in their eyes as they gather around her.

Sharon holds Molly close in her arms while Pete tries to help by gently shaking her awake.

"Molly, sweetie please…You have to wake up. It's time to go home." Pete said.

Molly can hear it, but nothing feels real. The lines between fantasy and reality are blurring and she starts to figure it out this is all just a dream.

The world around Molly starts crumbling as she opens her eyes and sees a bright blinding light.

Molly wakes up on the couch in her dressing room, confused and disoriented. She tries to put the pieces together. She remembers her dream, but can't seem to get a grip on reality.

Molly blinks a few times as the haziness starts to clear. Then sees her parents, Darryl, Libby, and Andrea gathered around her with worried looks on their faces. Scratch is there too, but he's invisible so Andrea doesn't see him.

Molly tries to sit up and her Mom helps her.

"That's right, sit up slowly." Sharon said.

Pete then brings Molly a glass of water and she finishes it quickly. Then she takes a deep breath and starts to feel grounded again.

"What happened?" Molly asked.

Everyone looks at one another concerned, then back at Molly.

"That's a long story…We'll talk about it. First, let's get you home and rest." Sharon said.

Molly nods. Something must have happened. Still, she does her best to keep up that smiley facade so she doesn't worry anyone.

"Yeah, we'll figure this out together. Everything's going to be okay." Molly said.
