Foreword:

I am pleased to bring you the sequel to The Guise of Family:

The Guise of Loyalty

If you haven't read the first book in what I hope to be this anthology, turn around now. Go read that and come back when you've finished.

When I left at the end of the last book, I spoke of the impending birth of my daughter to be born as the seventh month dies. She ended up not wanting to be a tool of Fate, being a little bit anxious and hurried to be born, and ended up gracing us with her presence a bit earlier. On June 29th, 2022, my daughter was born into the world. She and my wife are both in good health.

I had considered naming her Lyra, but decided to stick with the original plan, which might sound HP related, but was actually the name of my grandmother - Lillian.

So far it has been an amazing adventure, and it can only become more incredible as time goes on. In that regard, I probably won't be able to stick to a publishing schedule. Hopefully, I will have built up enough of a reservoir of drafts that I can make a weekly post on Sundays, but the tiny human will always come first.

As for future books I have nearly an entire outline written for Harry and Lyra's 3rd year, with partial outlines for the remainder whose planned titles are:

The Guise of Power

The Guise of Darkness

Unknown - TBD

The Discarded Guise

This book will also have a Teen(T) rating, though 3rd year will probably be bumped up to an M rating and 4th year definitely will. Guise of Loyalty will be slightly shorter than Family because it will contain less of a preamble (16 chapters before school begins), though much of the foreshadowing I wrote in it will come to fruition.

Also, a reminder, while this story is about Harry Potter, there are other characters and there will be many times when he is not the center of attention. There may be entire chapters where the narrative focuses on someone else or a group of someone else's. Though the journey centers. So when you think, 'Oh, why isn't this called Brandt, Lyra, Tonks, or someone else… and the Guise of Whatever…?' just remember this and keep reading, knowing it will get back to Harry in a bit.

I also started publishing a short(er) fic during my break - The Grim of Azkaban - Rated M. I took a break in writing it but will finish it soon. When I finish The Guise of Loyalty, I have a crack fic I'm writing sporadically that I'll publish while building up the next book. The plot is still being worked on, but essentially instead of becoming a participant in the Triwizard Tournament, Harry becomes one of the obstacles in each event. Cedric panics because bad stuff happens to people around Harry. Should be a barrel of laughs.
