Movie 20: The Darkest Nightmare

Late one night...

In the Public Security main building computer mainframe, a shadowed figure was accessing the computers for top-secret files on the undercover spies that were planted within the Black Organization by the various intelligence agencies from all over the world. With her color-coded color holder in hand, she looked at the five colored cards and memorized each agent using a color.

"That's enough." Kazami flipped on the light switch. "Move away from the console and pull your hands up." he ordered, a pair of officers rushed in, handguns trained on Curaçao. "Your actions are very predictable." he added, Curaçao backed off.

Curaçao merely smirked and attacked, knocking the two armed officers away and elbowed Kazami, forcing him off, before jumping out of the open door to escape. She was met by the suited Furuya Rei at the front of the corridor and Curaçao proceeded to fight her way through.

Rei dodged Curaçao's kick and threw at punch at the woman who move to avoid the fist. Rei fended off Curaçao's kick with his arm and dodged under her thrown wig, before leveling a series of punches at the Black Organization agent which caused one of her contact lenses to fall out.

"Furuya-san, are you alright?" Kazami hurried in.

"Those eyes." Rei gaped in shock. "It can't be..."

"Furuya-san, move." Kazami barked, his handgun trained on Curaçao. "Don't move."

Curaçao then turned, dashing towards the window when a titanium-tungsten alloy pane rolled down over the glass. Seconds later, similar alloy panes covered the building's windows in rapid succession.

"Inoue, initiate Plan Gamma, please." Ami spoke into her earpiece. "Seriously, did you really think the Cyber-Security Department won't notice this huge breach in our systems?" she drawled at the trapped agent. "The window is guarded by a pane of titanium-tungsten. Good luck breaking that."

"Move." Curaçao snarled and dashed past the blue-haired woman.

"Wait!" Rei shouted, chasing after Curaçao.

"You do know us in the Cyber-Security Department have counter-plans for situations like this, right?" Ami deathpanned. "And we have her trapped in about..." she looked at her luminous watch. "Thirty seconds. Inoue, please direct Zero to where the intruder is currently in."

"Understood, fukubuchō." the male technician replied. "Uploading coordinates."

Rei read the new notification on his electronic pad and cast an impressed look at his former partner. "How about we catch ourselves a rat, partner?" he smirked.

"Who do I owe for this large breach in security?" Ami asked, the two Public Security agents were rushing towards the fire escape.

"You think..." Rei trailed. "We have a leak?"

"Possible." Ami nodded as Rei flung open the door. "For the love of..." she muttered, seeing Curaçao slid under a closing alloy pane and flee out of the Public Security building. "Never said our counter-plans were foolproof."

"No plans ever are." Rei agreed.

On the streets...

Curaçao forced a passing driver to stop.

"That was dangerous." the driver snapped, getting out of his car, only to have Curaçao push him out of the way and take the driver's seat. Swerving, she turned a corner and drove off.

Meanwhile, Akai had been lying in wait, turned on the engines of his Race Red 2007 and gave chase.

Rei had also strapped himself in his White 1991 Mazda RX-7 and took off after Curaçao.

Putting on her motorbike helmet, Ami secured her sniper bag over her shoulder and revved the engines of her Harley-Davidson Street Rod.

Curaçao broke through a traffic security box and the chase was on. Realizing she was being chased, Curaçao whipped out her smartphone and started typing in the codenames of the NOCs she had remembered. She scowled when Rei bumped into the rear of her stolen car, her message was in the midst of being sent out. She then snuck in front of Rei, after seeing her message was sent and forcing the Public Security agent to skid across the road lane after her.

"Who's that?" Rei then noticed a red car right behind him. "Akai?" he recognized the FBI agent in the driver's seat. "Back down, Akai." he barked, bumping into the older man. "We, the Public Security Bureau, will capture that woman."

Their argument was cut short by a falling red car Curaçao had bumped off the road. Straightening both their vehicles, both agents continued the chase.

Grinning after seeing Akai pull to a stop after the car crashed into a truck, Rei continued the chase.

"Shishou." by that time, Ami had also caught up in her Harley-Davidson.

"He sure isn't as calm as you are." Akai remarked.

"I blame the late Hagiwara Kenji for his insane driving skills." Ami stated flatly.

Meanwhile...

Seeing Rei was closing in on her, Curaçao sped up, weaving through the trucks in an attempt to shake the Public Security agent off. She rammed onto a nearby truck, causing it to crash into a car beside it, the truck behind the two vehicles also got involved in the resultant collusion.

"What?" Rei was forced to stop as Curaçao flew over the ledge and onto the expressway below.

Using the roof of the falling truck beneath her, Curaçao then jumped onto the road, bumping a van into the waters below.

"Damn, like I'll let you escape." Rei cursed and drove back.

"Shit." Curaçao snarled, forced to a stop due to the road block ahead.

If I let her escape, the whole world will be in a panic. Rei growled, speeding back. Don't tell me... he spotted Curaçao heading in the opposite direction. In the opposite direction?

With both their vehicles parked, Akai and Ami assembled their long-range rifles and took aim at Curaçao's speeding car.

"Rye." Curaçao recognized the sniper in front of her. "Interesting, I'll run you two over." she pressed on the accelerator and shot towards the two Japanese.

Akai had his rifle trained on Curaçao behind the wheel, while Ami had aimed at the stolen car's left front tyre.

Noticing Curaçao had ducked beneath the dashboard, Akai changed his target to the car's right front tyre.

In a split second, both master and student pulled their triggers, both their bullets hitting their respective targets and causing Curaçao to skid out of control.

Ami moved out of the way of Curaçao's car and it crashed into the burning truck ahead. The impact then sent all three vehicles down to the warehoused below.

Curaçao had managed to get out of her demolished car and leapt out into the water before it crashed.

"And there goes the neighborhood." Ami muttered, the massive explosion erupted from the burning warehouses.

"And your Harley-Davidson, apparently." Akai added, turning to the burning motorbike.

"You two..." Rei hurried over and seeing the rifles in both Akai's and Ami's hands.

"We should make ourselves scarce." Ami pointed out, hearing the incoming police sirens.

"Noted." Akai agreed. "Furuya, you mind taking her?"

"Right." Rei nodded.

Meanwhile...

Curaçao had managed to pull herself out of the water and stumbled onto shore where stood on the opposite shore of the Tohto Aquarium. The five colored light from the Ferris Wheel in the centre of the aquarium caused her to lose her memory.

In Rei's White 1991 Mazda RX-7...

Ami was already making phone calls to the respective security agencies regarding the leaked NOC list.

"I really should stop being impressed by your linguist skills." Rei whistled, after Ami ended her call to the BND headquarters.

"Tanaka has already found the NOC members that had been accessed." Ami informed. "Stout, from England's M16, Aquavit from Canada's CSIS, Riesling from Germany's BND, Kir from America's CIA and you."

"Seriously?" Rei hissed.

"I don't joke about things like this, Rei." Ami leveled a look at him. "Be careful."

"Yeah." Rei nodded.

The next day...

"Professor, I've run out of snacks." Genta whined, downing the pack of popcorn, the Detective Boys were on their way to the Tohto Aquarium in Professor Agasa's yellow Volkswagen Beetle.

"You ate all of them already?" Ayumi complained.

"Even our portions, too?" Mitsuhiko peered over the back seat.

"Conan, what are you looking at?" Fumio asked, seeing Conan was watching the news on his smartphone intently.

"The reason for the large-scale blackout last night hasn't been announced yet." Conan pulled out his earphones. "I was thinking it was weird and so was checking the news."

"Now I think of it, kaa-san was a little bruised when tou-san brought her back last night." Fumio recalled.

"They're doing a special on the aquarium we're going to." Ayumi piped in, seeing the special bulletin report.

"Please let me see it, Conan." Mitsuhiko requested.

"Now then," the presenter started. "Let's take a look at the renewal opening and the highlights showcasing the major transformations in a video portraying them. There are three major points that have major changes in this renewal. First things first, all amusement parks and observatories have been placed indoors. Now you can play at your heart's content from the opening and until the closing without having to worry about the weather. Next, we'll be focusing on the aquarium's best attraction: the beautiful dolphin show. It was a popular attraction before renewal yet he show's contents have been remade. The dolphins have refined their acting to make it greater. They'll give us a surprising and emotional time. And the last thing we'd like to show you is the most important part of this renewal: the first two-wheeler giant Ferris Wheel in the world. It has north and south wheels, and depending on which one you ride, you can see a different landscape. The fountains set around the Ferris Wheel are used to create a special show of water and lights. We hope you enjoy the great scenery along with the show at a height of 100 meters."

"Let's ride the Ferris Wheel." Ayumi proposed.

"Weren't we going to the aquarium?" Conan deathpanned.

"Why don't we go to both, then?" Mitsuhiko suggested.

"Professor." Haibara started. "Please take care of buying the tickets."

At the Tohto Aquarium...

"So, did you decide whether you want to go for the aquarium or ride the Ferris Wheel?" Professor Agasa asked at the entrance.

"What are you saying, Professor?" Genta retorted.

"We're going to both, obviously." Mitsuhiko insisted.

"Here's a challenge, then." Professor Agasa grinned. "If you can answer the quiz correctly, then I'll take you to both. Among these colors, which one will change when mixed thoroughly? One, red. Two, blue. Three, brown. Four, black."

"Isn't it brown?" Fumio shook his head.

"Brown?" Ayumi echoed.

"Red (aka) is scarlet (makka), Blue (ao) is deep blue (massao)." Fumio started.

"I've got it." Mitsuhiko cut in. "It's because brown (chiro) is bright brown (maccha)."

"What are you guys saying?" Genta was confused. "Red/aka is scarlet red/makka, Blue/ao is deep blue/ massao. Brown/cha is bright brown /maccha and black/kuro is pitch black/makkuro."

"Take a look at brown, Genta." Mitsuhiko prompted.

"Only brown/maccha becomes matcha/green tea." Ayumi explained.

"You're right." Genta realized. "Let's go buy tickets."

Taking the rear, Conan sniffed the air, smelling petrol and spotted the disorientated Curaçao on a nearby bench. "Are you alright, nee-san?" he hurried over. "Your face is wounded." he noticed the bruises on Curaçao's face. "Onee-san, your eyes are of different colors." he instantly spotted the heterochormia eyes.

"Maybe she doesn't understand Japanese." Haibara surmised.

"I know." Curaçao corrected. "I understand it."

"What happened?" Conan asked. "Why are you alone here of all places? It doesn't look like you have any friends with you, either. Also, you're hurt on your knees and hands, and your phone is broken as well."

"Do you mind if I took a look at this?" Fumio inquired, taking the broken smartphone.

"Onee-san how long have you been here?" Haibara asked, after Fumio shook his head, indicating the smartphone was a bust. "Then, where you do come from?" she pressed.

"I don't know." Curaçao shook her head.

"Onee-san, what is your name?" Conan asked, the trio gave each other a look.

"My name..." Curaçao replied. "I'm sorry, I can't remember."

"Please show my your head." Haibara requested. "It's not a grave wound but it's recent." she examined Curaçao.

"She probably hurt her head in a car accident." Conan surmised.

"In that case, it could be traumatic retrograde amnesia and..." Haibara concluded. "Wait, how do you know she was in a car?"

"This phone has been completely broken from impact." Conan explained, having gotten the phone from Fumio. "Look, a crystal shard from a car's wind shield." he picked up one of the glass pieces.

"So, you're saying she hit her head while driving?" Haibara guessed.

"That car was probably a old model." Conan continued. "New cars have a film that prevents them from breaking. And besides, she has a bit of gasoline stench on her. Onee-san, do you have anything else with you?"

"What is this?" Curaçao found her colored cards in her skirt pocket.

"Can I see it, onee-san?" Conan requested. "What is this?" he frowned. "Looks like a color pallet. These cards have semi-transparent colors in them."

"What kind of cards are these?" Haibara wondered.

"Oi, Conan, Fumio, Haibara." Genta shouted.

"We bought tickets for you, too." Ayumi added.

"Crap, trouble's come back." Conan muttered.

"Who is this woman?" Mitsuhiko wondered, the three rejoined Conan.

"By the way, what are you guys doing over here?" Professor Agasa caught up.

"Great timing, Professor." Conan turned serious.

"This person was in an accident, and it looks like she has amnesia." Haibara supplied.

"She might be related to last night's accident." Fumio added.

"Then, we should call the police right away." Professor Agasa suggested.

"No!" Curaçao protested.

"Onee-san, is there a reason why you can't go to the police?" Haibara asked.

"I don't know." Curaçao sighed.

"But you need protection." Professor Agasa stated.

"Wait, onee-san." Conan voiced, taking Curaçao's photo and causing her to walk away. "We won't report you to the police. I just took a photo so we could find your colleagues. I'll help you look for them and get our memories back."

"Let us help, too." Ayumi piped in.

"Thank you." Curaçao nodded.

"Then, let's start by searching for someone who knows here." Ayumi suggested.

"You guys, how about the Ferris Wheel?" Professor Agasa reminded.

"What are you talking about, Professor?" Genta chided. "There are more important things to do. Let's go." he urged, Mitsuhiko and Ayumi pulled Curaçao off. "Let's search."

"Are you two really not taking that to the police?" Haibara asked as Conan and Fumio cleaned up the bench.

"No way, I would." Conan sent a text message to Ran.

In the the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department building...

"Inspector Megure, this is the photo Ran-san has sent me." Takagi showed his superior the photo Ran had sent to him.

"According to the report, she might've been involved in a car accident." Sato supplied.

"A car accident, huh?" Megure mused. "There was a large-scale accident yesterday night, if I recall correctly, the driver's whereabouts are unknown."

"It was a huge accident, yet neither us, nor the mass media have any accurate information on it, right?" Takagi confirmed. "Could it be..."

"It seems we need to look into this." Sato agreed.

"Inspector Megure." Chiba came in. "Investigation Division 3 has no info, either."

"I see." Megure noted. "There's a rumor about a possible break-in last night at the NPA headquarters."

"But, we MP aren't getting any info on that." Chiba added.

"What does that mean?" Takagi asked.

"Something big might be at work here." Megure concluded.

In the Tohto Aquarium infirmary...

"There, now you're all right." the infirmary's doctor applied a band-aid on Professor Agasa's wound after he was brought to the clinic after Curaçao saved Genta from falling off the Ferris Wheel escalator.

"Why is the professor in the most pain?" Mitsuhiko deathpanned.

"You'll understand when you get older." Professor Agasa argued.

"It'd seem he's fine." Mitsuhiko nodded. "So let's go ride the Ferris Wheel."

"Let's go." Genta turned to Curaçao.

"Yes, but I wonder if I'm just a nuisance." Curaçao pondered.

"What are you saying now?" Mitsuhiko chided.

"You saved my life." Genta reminded.

"Then, let's go ride it." Conan decided.

"Wait." Haibara spoke up, "Edogawa, I have something to talk..."

"Then, we'll head there first." Professor Agasa remarked.

"No!" Haibara barked. "Wait Professor."

Outside...

"Are you certain she's one of them?" Conan was shocked after Haibara told him about her suspicions.

"I can't say for certain, but didn't you also feel it?" Haibara asked. "Now that I think of it, her right eye might be a prosthetic."

"You can't mean..." Conan gaped.

"Yes, the Number Two of those you call the Black Organization." Haibara confirmed. "Rum. If she really is Rum, her amnesia could be a lie."

"But why would she need to pretend if she wants to approach us?" Conan pointed out. "I admit that, seeing her abilities, we should be on alert as she might be a member of the Organization yet, but if she's really amnesiac, then I could make use of it to..."

"No." Haibara objected. "We can't let her get her memories back. Don't tell me that you want her to recover her memories to get info on the Organization. You aren't thinking something like that, are you? If you do that, it won't be just you and I. Those kids might be erased as well." she pointed to where Professor Agasa and the others were. "They're gone." she gaped, seeing Professor Agasa was alone.

"Professor!" Conan called out as he and Haibara hurried over. "Where did the kids go? Those guys." he hissed, receiving a 'Not Responding' tone from Mitsuhiko's phone.

"They're probably in the Ferris Wheel as they really want to ride it." Haibara surmised.

On the Ferris Wheel...

"You might have been a sports player or something, nee-san." Mitsuhiko suggested. "If not, you couldn't have saved Genta like you did."

"That might be." Ayumi agreed. "Since you have a good style, too, nee-san."

"Is that so?" Curaçao was surprised.

"Yeah," Mitsuhiko nodded. "You're some kind of super model."

"The fountain's gotten bigger." Genta gushed.

"It's pretty, isn't it?" Curaçao agreed. Looking down, the flash of color ignited her lost memories.

"Nee-san?" Fumio echoed worriedly, seeing Curaçao sit back down.

"I'm fine." Curaçao assured. "I'm just a little dizzy."

"You must be acrophobic." Fumio noted.

"We're gonna be at the tallest place, soon." Genta pointed out.

The revolving colored lights finally triggered Curaçao's locked memories, causing her to suffer a massive headache.

"I'm going to call for help." Mitsuhiko pulled out his phone.

"Ayumi, Mitsuhiko, what do I do?" Genta panicked. "She's saying some weird stuff."

"The NOCs are..." Curaçao muttered.

"Ayumi, use this to contact Conan." Mitsuhiko handed Ayumi his phone. "Genta, what is she saying?"

"Something about knocking on a door." Genta replied.

"Kir... Bourbon..." Curaçao hissed. "Stout, Aquavit, Riesling..."

Near the Ferris Wheel...

"Ayumi?" Conan picked up the call. "What's wrong?"

"We were riding the Ferris Wheel and onee-san has suddenly fallen ill." Ayumi wailed.

"How is she now?" Conan asked.

"She's holding her head and is in pain." Ayumi sobbed. "She's saying something, but we don't understand anything."

"I'm writing it down." Mitsuhiko supplied.

"Conan, please." Ayumi pleaded. "Help, hurry."

Later...

"Conan, where's that lady?" Takagi pulled up in Sato's car in the carpark, arriving with Sato in tow.

"They're about to bring her out of the infirmary." Conan pointed to the ambulance. "Haibara, Professor, take care of the rest." he hurried after the two detectives.

In the infirmary...

"Excuse me." Sato spoke.

"Please come over here." the doctor replied.

"As I already told you over the phone, we police would like to take custody of her." Sato requested.

"I don't mind." the doctor noted. "But could you transmit a message to someone in the police hospital she's going to be sent to? For now, it seems pretty clear that the cause of her amnesia is a blunt impact on her head. That aside, I found a part of her brain arch area that has a strange and unusual wound on it." he pointed his pointed on the problem area on the X-ray. "This part over here."

"It's not caused by yesterday's accident?" Sato asked.

"No, it's probably something she was born with." the doctor confirmed.

"And how is it related to her seizure?" Takagi pressed.

"It's not a part that interferes directly with daily life, so I think that's unrelated to that." the doctor replied.

"Understood." Sato nodded. "We'll transmit this information."

"Please wait a minute." the doctor added. "There is one more thing. We found this on her right eye during the examination."

"What is this?" Takagi peered at the tray.

"It looks like a color contact, yet..." Sato frowned.

"It's a black contact lens to make her pupil look black." the doctor concurred. "Just in case, I thought it would be better to let you know."

"Excuse me." the medical staff cut in. "We're finished preparing her for transport."

"We shall take our leave as well." Sato nodded.

"Boy, are you sure you don't have to go with them?" the doctor spotted Conan had stayed behind.

"I'm fine." Conan nodded. "Since there's something I wanted to ask you, doctor. It's about the color contact lens; if she's making one of her eyes look black, then both her eyes were blue to begin with, right?"

"The right eye is actually transparent." the doctor replied. "Maybe it would be better to say it looks transparent. It's a very odd phenomena, but I think it looks transparent because the iris is almost the same color as the sclera."

Later...

"Professor, are you still with the kids?" Conan made a call to Professor Agasa, after boarding a cab to take him and Mouri back.

"We're having tea at Poirot." Professor Agasa replied.

"There's something I want you to do." Conan requested.

"Anyway, is that lady alright?" Professor Agasa asked.

"She was just transferred to the police hospital." Conan answered. "She'll be okay. I want you to fic the internal data of her phone."

"I can't guarantee a complete recovery." Professor Agasa admitted.

"Also, it'd seem she said something when she had that seizure on the Ferris Wheel." Conan continued. "I'd like to know what she said."

"I made sure to take notes yet they're not from the beginning." Mitsuhiko piped in. "She said Stout, Aquavit, Riesling,"

"Professor, you said you were at Poirot, right?" Conan hissed. "Then tell Amuro-san to get on the phone."

"Tou-san isn't in today." Fumio supplied.

"If you're looking for Amuro-san, he took the day off." Azusa informed. "He suddenly asked for a day off over the phone and I haven't heard form him since then. I've tried calling him several times, but he hasn't answered my calls, so I'm a bit worried."

"So it seems." Professor Agasa added. "I'd be glad if it's nothing, but I am a bit worried."

Meanwhile in Berlin...

"Where are you going to, huh?" Vodka mocked, he and Gin cornering Riesling by a pier. "I said you had a minuet of grace, right?"

"I'm not a NOC." Riesling insisted.

"Then, let's decide whether you are one or not." Gin snarled. "Let's make clear each one's standpoints. Confess the names of the other rats who've sneaked into our ranks." he trained his shotgun at Riesling.

"How many times do I have to repeat myself." Riesling snapped. "I'm not a NOC. Your threats mean nothing, Gin."

"Threats?" Gin echoed. "Do you think I'd be so petty as to use threats?" without a word, he fired his weapon of Riesling. "Tch, another fake." he snorted, peeling off the second skin from Riesling's face to reveal another one of the Black Organization's underlings; both Korn and Chianti had also reported that their targets were replaced by impostors. "Two more in Japan." he walked off.

Later outside Restaurant Danny's...

"The English M16," James Black pulled out the 'assassinated' agents' photos. "The Canadian CSIS, and the German BND. Intelligence agents from each nation were supposedly killed one after another. What they have in common was that they were infiltrating the Organization." he added. "We're fortunate that Mizuno had the foresight to have the various governments pull their agents out and replace them with the Organization's unnamed foot soldiers."

"We got a report by Akai-san in which he said he suspected an agent from the Organization had stolen info from the NPA." Camel informed.

"Jodie-sensei, you called me here because I got into contact with someone you suspect to be an agent of the Organization, right?" Conan asked.

"Yea." Jodie confirmed.

"Just as I thought." Conan noted. "But she had amnesia, and her phone which might be her info storage media was broken."

"Smartphone?" James echoed. "She had one on her?"

"She left it on the bench so I picked it up." Conan nodded. "The Professor said he might be able to restore it soon."

"Then contact me once the analysis is over." James requested. "We need to find out the extent of the info leak as soon as possible, or else the whole world will fall into a panic."

"What kind of data was stolen?" Conan thought to ask.

"Non-Official Cover." Jodie replied. "A NOC list."

"It's a list of spies across the world that the NPA has detected." Camel added.

"Then that means, depending on how fast Mizuno-san works, all the spies infiltrating the Organization will either be erased or replaced." Conan concluded.

"It's not just that." James remarked. "If the NOC list goes public, all of the world's intelligence agencies might collapse for all we know."

"And then, the Organization would get a hold on the essence of intelligence war." Conan realized in horror.

"That's right." James agreed. "As far as we know, these attempted assassinations might only be the beginning."

Meanwhile...

"That's it." Amuro parked his car in the Touto Police Hospital carpark. "The Touto Police Hospital. I don't mind if you have to use extreme means. I'm counting on your, Kazami."

"Bourbon, why are you here?" Vermouth approached.

"Of course, to bring that person back to us." Amuro replied.

"And here I thought you'd come to silence her before she recovered her memories." Vermouth noted.

"Why would I do that?" Amuro asked. "I don't see what you're implying."

"How are you going to meet her?" Vermouth posted a question. "She's under heavy security and no visits are allowed. Or maybe you can easily meet with her? For example, by using special connections with the police."

"As I said." Amuro chided. "What are you saying?"

"Let's go somewhere else to talk about this." Vermouth subtlety flashed her shotgun with a silencer attachment.

"If that's an order from the Organization, then I have no choice." Amuro relented.

In the hospital...

"Excuse me." Kazami cut in. "I'm Kazami from the Public Security Bureau. I was told Inspector Megure is in charge of this case."

"I am Megure." Megure stepped up.

"We'd like to take custody of that woman over there, right away." Kazami requested, pointing to Curaçao.

"Why's that?" Megure demanded. "We should also have authority to investigate this."

"That woman is suspected of have intruded the NPA HQ." Kazami replied. "We need to figure out her goals as soon as possible. If you understand the situation, I'd like of you to being the proceedings to surrender her to us right away, since you have no authority to refuse to do so."

"I understand." Megure relented.

"Guys, the visit is over." Sato informed the Detective Boys.

"Let's go home, shall we?" Takagi suggested.

"Thank you, everyone." Curaçao thanked the kids. "I'll take good care of this." she held the white whale ornament in her hand. "Let's all ride the Ferris Wheel together again one day, shall we?"

Later in the evening...

"It looks like you suspect us of being NOCs." Amuro noted, cuffed to a pipe with Hidemi in an abandoned warehouse.

"It'd seem that the NOC list Curaçao sent us had your names on it." Vodka stated, turning on the floor lamp.

"Curaçao?" Amuro echoed. "Rum's confidant?"

"An information gathering specialist." Hidemi confirmed.

"You seem to know about her." Vermouth noted.

"What's outstanding about her appearance is that both of her eyes are different colors." Amuro told his partner. "She's an 'Odd-eye'."

"She's pretty well-known in the Organization." Hidemi added.

"We're all old pals." Vodka stated. "If you confess right away, we'll send you off sans any suffering."

"The only reason you didn't kill us but kidnapped us is because the info by Curaçao isn't complete information." Amuro snorted. "Am I wrong?"

"Impressive, Bourbon." Gin praised.

"That she managed to steal the list was great, but she got found out by the police and in the midst of escaping, she caused an accident." Vermouth related.

"And as a result, she's turned amnesiac." Vodka stated.

"Then why not capture Curaçao and get the NOC list?" Hidemi snapped. "Gin, you can check whether we're NOCs or not after you get the list, can't you?" she discretely passed a half of her hairpin to Amuro, the two undercover agents breaking the metal piece in half.

"That's true." Gin admitted. "But, my way is to root out trouble at it's earliest stage." he trained his shotgun at the cuffed pair. "Now, it's time for the traitors to be judged."

On the road...

"Over here, Cool Kid." Jodie pulled Conan over.

"For now, read this." Conan showed James the retrieved message.

With Gin...

"Kir." Amuro gaped when Gin's shot knocked the hairpin out of their hands.

"What's wrong, Kir?" Gin mocked. "Continue. You were undoing the handcuffs, weren't you?"'

"You shot a comrade despite that she's only a suspect." Amuro gasped.

"I decide if you're a comrade or not." Gin retorted. "Not you. I've give you one last minute of grace. i''ll let whichever sells out the other witness a rat's miserable death. Vodka, countdown."

"Like that threat will work on me." Hidemi snarled.

"If she says she's a NOC, then she'd be admitting that she's a NOC." Amuro reasoned. "There's no way you would overlook someone like that."

"I wonder about that." Gin scoffed. "I'm kinder than you think. Kir. So, you're accomplices and decide to help each other, huh?"

"Helping her?" Amuro echoed. "I don't know if she's a NOC or not."

"Me too." Hidemi concurred. "But I'll say this, I'm not a NOC."

"That's what I should say." Amuro retorted.

"Now, which of you is the rat?" Gin taunted as Amuro knelt to Hidemi's level. "Which one will bail first? You, Bourbon, or you, Kir? You go first, Zero; Bourbon."

A shot rang out, sending the ceiling light crashing down and hitting the floor lamp.

"What happened?" Gin demanded when the lights went out. "Kir, Bourbon." he turned to his captives.

"Bourbon's gone." Vermouth turned on the back-light of her smartphone. "He ran."

"After them." Gin ordered, when the door swung open. "Sorry, Kir." he turned to Hidemi. "I couldn't show you a dead rat. But you won't be alone. I'll eventually send Bourbon to meet up with you."

"Gin, wait." Vermouth stopped him. "Don't shoot. We've got orders from Rum. It appears a mail from Curaçao reached Rum. It said 'Those two aren't involved.'"

"It looks like our suspicions were cleared." Hidemi remarked. "Now then, I wonder if you'd remove these handcuffs or not?"

"No, there's more to Rum's orders." Vermouth continued. "We need to verify if that mail was really sent by Curaçao. But if we need to raid the police hospital to retrieve her, it's going to be pretty hard to pull it off."

"Don't worry." Gin assured. "If I'm correct, they should have started moving by now. Get that aircraft ready." he informed Chianti. "It's a good chance to try out it's equipment."

"Are you intending to start an all-out war or what?" Chianti demanded.

"It's an order from Rum." Gin responded. "We need to make sure our mission is successful."

"Aniki, no good." Vodka stumbled in. "Not only did they get away, one of them is a Shiba."

"I don't care." Gin scoffed. "Bourbon and Kir can wait, first, we'll recapture Curaçao. Curaçao has already left the hospital.

"We're heading to Touto Aquarium." Gin headed off.

"Gin, don't tell me..." Vermouth realized. "You predicted this would happen and thus readied that set-up? Vodka, what's wrong?" she asked, the overweight secretary suddenly doubling over.

"Cold..." Vodka shivered, his teeth clattering. "That Shiba wretch..."

"Gin, this is bad." Vermouth hissed, her hand burnt with frostbite when she touched Vodka. "Vodka won't be able to operate like this."

"Then you bring the car over, Vermouth." Gin ordered.

With James...

"I understand." James nodded after Akai reported in. "Head there as soon as you can. We'll handle the rescue. It looks like those two are safe."

"Amazing." Jodie was impressed. "Your plan was successful."

"It's nothing that amazing." Conan corrected. "The mail stopped halfway. So I just added 'Those two had nothing to do with it. You can be at ease.' and sent it."

"This is only a temporary solution." James remarked. "The enemy is prioritizing their agent's retrieval and are seemingly heading to Touto Aquarium. The Public Security Bureau took her to the aquarium."

"Then, us too." Camel spoke.

"No." James objected. "Akai is already heading over there with Mizuno now. We'll retrieve the agent who's still in the warehouse and search for the NOC list. Conan, you can get off now. We don't know what will happen from here on out, after all."

"By the way, how much did Akai-san know about that agent?" Conan thought to ask.

"He apparently doesn't know much." James admitted. "The only thing he knows is that she is Rum's confidant and her codename is supposed to be Curaçao."

"Thank you." Conan got off the car. "Wait a minute." he dug out the colored card holder after Camel drove off. "I was right; this 5 colors. I know I've seen this color scheme somewhere, where did I... if these are the key, then..." he realized. I see, if this deduction is correct, then it would explain the Organization and Public Security Bureau's actions. Then, that means... this is bad. I need to hurry. He shot off on his Turbo Engine Skateboard. Or the Organization will get its hands on the NOC list.

With Kazami...

"We've retrieved her as instructed." Kazami assured. "You want her to ride the Ferris Wheel?"

"It's not definite, but we've got no other choices at the moment." Amuro informed his subordinate over a payphone. "You will do it, right?"

"More importantly, we should meet up." Kazami proposed.

"No," Amuro insisted. "We don't know where the Organization could be watching us from. Go to the Ferris Wheel without me."

At the Touto Aquarium...

"We've been waiting." Mitsuhiko crowed, getting off Mouri's car, the Detective Boys having requested Mouri drive them to the aquarium.

"What are you going to do, dad." Ran peered into the car.

"I don't feel like doing anything today." Mouri pulled the driver's seat in a resting position. "Not in the mood. I'm gonna have a nap. Enjoy yourselves."

"I'll go talk with the staff." Kazami's group had also arrived.

"They've come back to the aquarium?" Sato frowned, Chiba pulling up in his car.

"I was convinced that they'd take her to the accident's scene, yet..." Chiba admitted.

"It'd seem that she had a seizure while riding the Ferris Wheel." Takagi added. "Maybe there's some secret to it."

"For now, let's watch things unfold." Megure nodded.

At the ticket booth...

"Sonoko-nee-chan is still not here." Genta looked around.

"But I think she'll be here soon." Ran noted.

"I'd like to ride the Ferris Wheel." Kazami approached the ticket counter.

"I'm sorry, but today, we don't sell anymore tickets." the receptionist replied.

"Then tell whoever is in charge that the Public Security Bureau wants their cooperation in something." Kazami flashed his badge.

"Uncle Kazami?" Fumio recognized the Bureau agent who was Rei's subordinate.

"Over here." Sonoko called. "Sorry of the wait. It took me a while to arrange this. You kids, better be grateful."

"Sorry for having to bother you to do this." Ran apologized.

"Don't mind it." Sonoko replied. "You were also troubled, right? Then, I'll leave these kids to you." she told the female staff with her. "But the way, are you sure you didn't want to invite Shinichi?" she walked off with Ran."Who is that?" he pouted when one of Kazami's subordinates pulled down the binder. "How rude."

"Sorry, Sonoko." Ran apologized. "I am now interested in them."

"Now, you have a reason to ring him up." Sonoko teased.

"Guys, I don't think this is a good idea." Fumio voiced his concern, the four kids following the employee.

"Fumio, don't be such a downer." Genta complained.

"It's not that." Fumio corrected. "It's just... Uncle Kazami looked super serious just now and kaa-san's been very secretive these days; I think the Public Security Bureau is conducting an operation on the Ferris Wheel."

In the control room of the Ferris Wheel...

"It'd seem there's more than one energy supply system." Vermouth noted. "The older facilities use a different supply line. Can't be helped." inserting a flash drive into the system port, she made her call. "I'm done. Now you guys can appear without being found immediately."

In the stolen Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey...

"Hurry up." Gin urged Chianti and Korn who were in the cockpit. "We are on the move in 15 minutes."

"Gonna speed up." Chianti grinned.

In the Touto Aquarium...

Damnit. Conan cursed. Finding them at random is impossible. I need to find a way to stop them before they climb in.

"What is this?" Haibara had also arrived in a taxi wearing the spare Criminal Tracking Glasses. "Kudo, where are you?" she turned on the radar. "I knew it." she turned to the aquarium. "He's on the Ferris Wheel."

At the Ferris Wheel...

"I've brought the people from the Public Security Bureau." one of the aquarium's employees told the operator.

"But then, you're the one who booked the North Wheel." the operator gaped.

"We requested this booking." Kazami confirmed.

"I'm very sorry." the operator stammered. "I misunderstood the situation. About 10 minutes ago, I let a kid get on."

"What should we do?" Kazami's subordinate asked. "Wait until the gondola finishes looping?"

"No, if it's a mere kid, then we don't have to worry." Kazami replied. "Besides, now that we've safely secured the Ferris Wheel, they'll undoubtedly strike once we come down. Don't lower your guard and keep an eye on the surroundings. Then, let's go." he led Curaçao to one of the gondola.

"I'm sorry." Conan pushed his way in. "I'm looking for my friends. Wait," he spotted Kazami about to enter the gondola. "Don't get on."

"This is a restricted area." the operator stopped Conan.

"I'm sorry, let me through." Conan pushed past the line outside the Ferris Wheel.

In the center of the Ferris Wheel...

"If they're going to strike, then they'll attack from inside the Ferris Wheel." Conan snuck into the Ferris Wheel hub. "There's little security and they can act unseen. I need to figure out their plans as soon as possible and tell the Public Security Bureau and FBI about it. Is that Akai-san?" he spotted Akai hurrying to the Ferris Wheel with his Criminal Tracking Glasses. "What are those wires?" he then turned to the attached bombs on the Ferris Wheel bearings. "It can't be. If that's the case... this is bad. I need to confirm this immediately." he dashed up the nearby staircase.

On the Ferris Wheel rim tube...

Amuro had leapt onto the top of the Ferris Wheel to meet his adversary face-to-face. "I think I managed to get here ahead of them. "So you came." he pulled off the cleaner uniform he borrowed.

"Looks like you managed to escape successfully." Akai remarked.

"If you're there, that means, as I suspected," Amuro replied. "You shot the light to drop it and blinded them. You realized that I was still inside the warehouse and couldn't get away and to make it look like I ran outside, you kicked the door open and tricked them. Thanks to that, I was able to hide in the shadows and learn what they planned to do. I suspected that if you're the one who did that, you'd end up showing up here. Why don't you tell me? What motivated you to help us out? You could've easily listened into them and get info without having to risk yourself, couldn't you?"

"So, you came all the way here to talk?" Akai questioned.

"I came to tell the FBI to back off." Amuro retorted. "And that we Public Security Bureau will get our hands on Curaçao."

"And what if I say 'no'?" Akai fired back.

"Then, I'll steal her by force." Amuro answered. "Retreat, Akai Shuuichi." he charged towards Akai.

In the Ferris Wheel hub...

"It's strange for so many electrical cables to be linked to this extinguisher." Conan located the fire extinguisher cabinet. "There's no doubt about it: it's weird. I can't carelessly open it. Maybe I can open it from here?" he peered carefully at the exhaust pipe extension. "Is that a detonator?" he pulled the covering aside and spotted the detonator. "Then, that means... those things at the end of each wire and stuck on the axle... they're probably explosives. What should I do? If this detonator can be remotely activated, and if they notice us making any fuss, we're all done for. He should be here." he recalled seeing Akai's arrival to the Ferris Wheel and rushed off.

On the Ferris Wheel rim tube...

Amuro rolled on his back, after getting hit by Akai. Steadying himself to stop falling off after Akai parried his punches, he readied to renew the fight.

"I believe I told you, Amuro." Akai reminded. "Don't mistake the opponent that you must hunt down."

"I'll hunt down the Organization rascals once I bring you down, that is." Amuro snarled, throwing a punch at Akai who dodged the fist and tossed the younger agent over his shoulder. Not giving Amuro any reprieve, he slammed a heel down on the Bureau's agent's stomach, intending to send him down to the hub.

Amuro clung onto the rim and heaved himself back into the fight, landing a two-legged kick on Akai.

"And what if Curaçao recovers her memories and they attack us as we're quarreling?" Akai chided, both fighters met in a stalemate. "What'll do you do?"

"How about you clear things up?" Amuro demanded. "Are you saying you don't trust Japanese police because they stole information from us?" seeing Akai was momentarily distracted when the FBI agent's smartphone rang, he took the chance to tackle them both into the Ferris Wheel hub.

In the Ferris Wheel hub...

"Stop already." Akai pulled Amuro back up before he went over the railing.

"Already giving up?" Amuro kicked Akai off. "Let's go for Round Two." he wiped off the blood trickling from his forehead.

"Akai-san!" Conan's voice cut in. "You're there, right? We're in trouble. Lend me a hand. If they fail to retrieve Curaçao, they intend to blow everything up with this Ferris Wheel. If you're there, lend me a hand. We have to disarm the bombs before they detonate them."

"Is that true, Conan?" Amuro looked over the railing. "Where are the bombs?"

"There are a lot of them set in the gap between the axle and the wheel." Conan replied. "I don't know when they intend to remotely trigger them but we need to disarm them immediately."

"Correction," a female voice cut in. "They're set up on both wheels." Ami stated, her sniper rifle bag slung over a shoulder as she entered the scene from the other end of the stairway. "Pardon me, boys, can I join in or is this a male-only ego trip? And Tooru, if you're done with the ego pissing-off contest with Shishou..."

"Got it." Amuro relented, properly chastised. "I'm coming soon with the FBI."

"How is it, Amuro-san?" Conan asked, Amuro inspected extinguisher cabinet.

"Just a little more." Amuro assured. "This should be good enough." he detached the trap-wire. "You did well by not carelessly opening it."

"Akai-san, Mizuno-san, what about the explosives?" Conan turned to the two other adults.

"As we thought, they're C4s." Akai confirmed. "And they're set up in a pro manner. If they all simultaneously explode, the axle won't be able to withstand the stress and will cause a chain collapse."

"Then, looks like it's a good thing I iced the explosives on the South Wheel." Ami grinned.

"Iced?" Conan echoed. "How?"

"I have my ways, Conan." Ami answered. "Do not question it."

"It doesn't look like we have time to waste." Amuro went back to the task at hand, already having an inking on what his partner did. "This is it?" he pulled apart the tubing to reveal the detonation device.

"Do you think you can defuse it?" Conan asked.

"No problem." Amuro removed the tubing. "It's a commonly found type. I know how to disarm it."

"You know a lot about bombs, don't you, Amuro-san?" Conan was impressed.

"A friend taught me when I was in police academy." Amuro admitted. "By a man who'd eventually become the ace of the bomb disposal squad. But he ended up dying when he was defusing a bomb in a Ferris Wheel. His skills are perfect. I'll prove that to you."

"Use this." Akai tossed a tool case over, his sniper rifle was already assembled. "You have the necessary tools there."

"Tooru, catch." Ami threw the blond a flashlight, her own rifle was also assembled. "If there's one thing I learnt in the police academy," she noticed Amuro's confused look. "If any of you 'Five Musketeers' are involved, anything that could go wrong will go wrong."

"Where are you two going?" Conan asked.

"If they set bombs up here, that means they will strike this Ferris Wheel." Akai replied.

"And the only route to get Curaçao back without having to worry about the explosion is up there." Ami pointed to the sky. "Shishou and I are going back to where he was to stall for time."

"You must make sure to disarm the bombs." Akai instructed. "Mizuno."

"Easier said than done." Amuro snorted. "The only concern left is how much time I have to disable this." he turned back to the detonator. "What's wrong, Conan-kun?" he called out when Conan started dashing off.

"I have to protect the NOC list." Conan shouted back. This is it. He peered from the gap. These spotlights have the same color scheme as the cards that Curaçao had. What's more, unlike in the daytime, the transparency is almost the same. If my deductions are correct then, when she sees these color scheme, she'll remember the NOC list. In short, her brain itself is the information storage. And the point at which the door of her memories will open is when the Ferris Wheel reaches the top. When she sees this perfect color scheme, her memories will come back. No doubt about it.

In a café nearby...

"They'll soon be at the top." Vermouth peered through her binoculars. "Gin, last check-up. We're begin in three minutes. Ready?"

In the stolen Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey...

"Anytime." Gin confirmed. "Begin. Chianti, standby at point Alpha. We're going to operate in silent mode."

In the Ferris Wheel hub...

"I need to disarm it as fast as possible and meet up with Kazami." Amuro was cutting through the attached wires. "If I'm right, I need to cut this next. Woah." he paused. "That was dangerous. If this shines, then I'm out." he looked at red indicator. "Rushing up is the worst trap ever, right, Matsuda?" he recalled what the bombs specialist once said.

In a café nearby...

"So they did return." Vermouth grinned, using her binoculars to see Curaçao take out Kazami in the gondola. "Curaçao has entered the area where she can be retrieved." she inform Gin. "She'll reach the top of the wheel in two minutes. Isn't it about time to begin?"

In the stolen Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey...

"Korn, deploy the arm." Gin ordered.

"Hatch open." Korn released the grappling hook.

Taking advantage of the night sky, Chianti closed in on the gondola Curaçao was in.

On the Ferris Wheel rim tube...

"This rotor sound..." Akai looked around. "They should be pretty close by."

"They're here." Ami turned her attention upwards. "From the clouds."

"It's them." Akai readied his sniper rifle. "What are they trying to start?"

In her gondola...

"It's been a while, Vermouth." Curaçao made a call to Vermouth.

"So you really did recover your memories?" Vermouth chuckled.

"More importantly, when are you going to pick me up?" Curaçao asked. "There's a load of Public Security Bureau officers outside."

"No problem." Vermouth assured. "Gin's coming soon to get you. By the way, when did your memories return? Rum told me that' you'd contacted them from your phone. But if you didn't send that mail, then..."

"That mail?" Curaçao snorted. "I was the sender, of course. Is there a problem?"

"It's about time, Cinderella." Vermouth looked at her timer. "Sit there and wait for your pumpkin carriage." ten seconds later, the program installed in the flash drive shut down the lights within the aquarium.

On the Ferris Wheel rim tube...

"Damn, they've started." Conan cursed.

In the stolen Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey...

"I've confirmed Vermouth's signal." Korn declared. "The grounds are covered in darkness."

"Start descent at once." Gin ordered. "Capture Curaçao."

At the aquarium...

"I have a bad feeling." Haibara pushed her way through the crowd gathering at the building. "I have to hurry and bring those kids back."

In his gondola...

"Man, a blackout all of a sudden?" Genta complained. "Talk about bad luck."

In the Ferris Wheel hub...

"Thank goodness for this." Amuro muttered, using his teeth to hold the flashlight as he continued working.

In her gondola...

"If I remain seated, then I'll be able to return to the Organization." Curaçao looked at the white dolphin attachment she got from the Detective Boys.

On the Ferris Wheel rim tube...

"Don't tell me..." Conan turned on the night vision of his Criminal Tracking Glasses. "They'll use that to catch the whole gondola? That's..." he turned, his night vision showing that Curaçao had left her gondola.

In the stolen Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey...

"Aircraft control is all green." Chianti grinned. "20 meters to the target."

On the Ferris Wheel rim tube...

"A Public Security Bureau officer." Conan peered into the gondola Curaçao was in and saw the unconscious Kazami. "Then it means... the one who just jumped down was Curaçao. Damn." he leapt into the gondola upon hearing the motors close in. "Oji-san, wake up." he tried to shake Kazami awake.

"Looks like our rifles can't beat that." Akai told his student. "There should be some kind of weak point somewhere."

"The drive shaft." Ami instantly spotted the two proprotor joints.

"Damn." Conan hissed, the outstretched grappling hook clamped around the gondola and proceeded to tug the container free.

"We can't even aim from this distance, huh?" Akai frowned, both his and Ami's rifles were trained on the military aircraft.

In the stolen Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey...

"From 8 o'clock, above the Ferris Wheel, something was moving." Chianti stated.

"Scan the gondola with infrared system." Gin ordered.

"This form is a male." Korn reported. "And there's also a kid there. Curaçao isn't riding on it."

"Drop the gondola." Gin instructed.

In the gondola...

"You're kidding..." Conan gawked, the grappling hook releasing the gondola and dropping it right into the Ferris Wheel rim tube.

In the stolen Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey...

"Find Curaçao immediately." Gin ordered. "Chianti, get away from the Ferris Wheel and prepare the IDSS."

In the Ferris Wheel hub...

"Are you planning to take me back to them?" Haibara asked, Curaçao having saved her from falling.

"Them?" Curaçao echoed. "Do you mean the Organization? Could it be that you're Sherry, the one who betrayed the Organization? Come, we're running. Staying here is dangerous. Gin is here. You should know what that means."

"But why are you helping me?" Haibara was confused.

"I don't know." Curaçao admitted. "But I am the Curaçao who can be of any color. The current me feels better than my past self. That's just it." she pulled Haibara into her arms.

"Wait, Kojima-kun is still on the gondola." Haibara informed. "We have to hurry and save him."

"Looks like I can figure out the wiring." Amuro noted. "Focus, don't rush, act carefully, and hurry."

"This is bad." Conan hissed, having been thrown out of the gondola with Kazami.

In the stolen Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey...

"This is bad, Gin." Korn informed, the infrared having discerned the figures working to stop their plans. "Someone's near the detonator. Didn't we install it into this fire hydrant?" he enlarged the image.

"So, the Public Security Bureau has discovered the bombs?" Gin snarled.

In the Ferris Wheel hub...

"Only thing left is to cut these wires linked to the detonator." Amuro frowned and sniped the yellow wire. "Once I cut this, the bomb will be disabled." he cut the black wire. The red warning bulb lit up, indicating the connection was cut off. "That was close." the blonde man heaved in relief.

In the stolen Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey...

"Bathe it, Chianti." Gin ordered, when his wireless detonator failed. "With a rain of bullets."

In the Ferris Wheel hub...

"Damn, I have to do something." Conan cursed, left with no choice but to leave Kazami on the footbridge as Chianti showered the Ferris Wheel with the Osprey's Gatling gun.

"This is bad." Amuro managed to disengage the rest of the attached bombs. Sliding down the metal cylinder, he put the bombs into the bag Akai had left behind. "I need to hurry."

On the Ferris Wheel rim tube...

"We can't aim from above?" Akai trained his rifle on the Osprey. "Mizuno, we're leaving."

"Roger." Ami nodded and the master-student duo entered the Ferris Wheel hub.

In the Ferris Wheel hub...

"Needless to say, this operation has just gone south." Ami winced, both she and Akai slid behind a ruined wall to hide from the bullet array.

"Damn, if I start moving, I'll be targeted immediately." Conan cursed, hiding behind a wall, having lost his Criminal Tracking Glasses in the assault. "If this keeps up, then I won't be able to do anything."

"Their target is me." Curaçao prepared to use herself as a decoy. "I leave Genta-kun to you."

"The attack is focusing on a specific spot." Akai noticed the direction of the bullet rain had changed.

"Someone's being targeted." Conan realized the same thing. "If I'm gonna move, I have to do it now."

In the stolen Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey...

"Curaçao's signal has disappeared." Korn reported, Chianti's assault had taken down the support beams. "Mission complete."

"Not yet." Gin corrected. "We've still got more mice to dispose of. Target the bombs in the axle. We feared that Curaçao could've used the chaos caused by the collapse of the Ferris Wheel to escape, but if it's a mere Public Security Bureau agent, that'll suffice. Chianti, reload the bullets immediately and blow up the axle. Finish this before the Air Force shows up."

In the Ferris Wheel hub...

"Akai-san!" Conan shouted, wandering the demolished hub.

"Over here." Akai voiced, appearing with Ami in tow.

"Conan." Ami caught the boy in her arms as he climbed onto the broken footbridge she and Akai were on. "Are you hurt anywhere?"

"Hide." Akai instructed. "I can still hear the rotors."

"What about Amuro-san?" Conan asked.

"Don't know." Akai replied. But if they decided to attack with the helicopter, then that must mean he's managed to defuse the bombs."

"The next step is to figure out how to repel them." Ami added.

"Is that rifle an accessory, FBI?" Amuro retorted. "Don't we have any means to counterattack?"

"There's a way to." Akai replied. "But the night-vision scope got broken; the only thing I can use is this spare normal scope. But this can't bring down that huge steel crow in the darkness."

"Shishou, what is it you keep telling me about bringing backup scopes and extras in addition to the backups?" Ami drawled, tossing the backup night vision scope she brought along to the older man. "Though this isn't to the specifications you're used to. Now what, at a time like this?" her attention was diverted to her vibrating phone. "Fumio?" she answered the call. "What's wrong? HE WHAT? Conan," she turned to the boy beside her. "You did inform your little band of friends to steer clear of this specific Ferris Wheel, right?"

"Not really..." Conan admitted.

"Then Fumio..." Amuro asked, worried about their son.

"He managed to get Tsuburaya-kun and Yoshida-chan out of dodge." Ami assured. "But Kojima-kun..."

"His desire to ride the Ferris Wheel overrode his sense of self-preservation." Conan groaned. "I don't even know why I was expecting anything else."

"Conan, do me a favor." Ami deathpanned. "Once this is all over, read Kojima-kun the riot act."

"Will do." Conan nodded.

"Shishou, we can't even target the rotors' joint at this rate." Ami reminded.

"But I can;'t see the joint." Conan pointed out.

"When it's facing the front, then you can't." Akai replied. "If we can startle them and lighten the rotor area for about five seconds, then..."

"I can lighten it." Conan confirmed. "But if we don't know the shape, then we can't aim for the rotor area."

"Those bastards." Ami snarled, when the Gatling gun restarted. "Do they intend to take down the axle?"

"And make it collapse along with the whole Ferris Wheel." Akai added.

"Even though I know where they are shooting from, I don't know where the rotor is." Conan spat as Akai and Ami readied their rifles.

"You only need to figure out its overall shape, right?" Amuro shouted. "Don't miss this." he tossed the bagged bombs out, rigging them to explode.

"Now." Conan used his Power-Enhancing Kick Shoes to send the expelled soccer ball from the Anywhere Ball Dispensing Belt towards the Osprey, the repelled ball going up in a shower of fireworks.

"Go down." Akai fired his shot in unison with Ami.

"They did it." Amuro beamed.

"Shishou, correct me if I'm wrong, but that was a Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey, right?" Ami asked.

"Indeed it is." Akai confirmed.

"Serious question: from which American military base did they raid that from?" Ami snarled.

"Good question." Akai admitted.

"Damn it." Conan took off when Gin claimed Chianti's seat at the cockpit and continued firing. "If the axle gets destroyed, then we'll be in grave danger."

In the stolen Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey...

"Retreat." Gin snarled, his bullet rain failed to set the bombs attached to the South Wheel off.

"Roger." Korn nodded.

In the Ferris Wheel hub...

"Looks like icing those bombs was a good idea, wasn't it?" Amuro grinned at his partner.

Epilogue

"Get the undertaker." Ami whispered, kneeling beside the grievously wounded Curaçao as she slowly breath her last.

"Mizuno-fukubuchō, we'd need to identify the corpse." Kazami voiced, as the undertakers proceeded to put the dead Curaçao on the stretcher.

"There's no need." Ami replied. "The NOC list is safe."

"Then, the memory storage..." Kazami breathed.

"It isn't in anything on her." Ami assured. "The memory storage is her mind itself."

"Now, how about we get Fumio-kun and get out of here." Amuro suggested. "I do believe a family outing is in the cards after this."
