Chapter 2: The Day Ever After
We're now on the day after Legacy Day.
The day after Legacy Day Draco and Raven are in Headmaster Grimm's office and he is not happy.
"You lied to me about who this boy is and refused to sign the Storybook of Legends. Give me one good reason why I shouldn't hexspell you both." Yelled Grimm.
'he's pissed.' They both thought.
"Wait you can't hexspell us." Raven says thinking about and an excuse and comes up with. "You want us to follow in our destinies but we can't do that if we're not at school."
"True but Mr. King doesn't have a destiny." Is what Grimm responds with.
"No wait I do. It may not be in the book but I am the son of the Dragon King, so my destiny is to become the new Dragon King and lead the dragons that the future knights will have to fight." Said Draco.
Hearing this Grimm realizes they have a point and he realizes that if he hexspells them it will only make it easier for them to go against their destinies and Draco does technically have a destiny even if its not in the book. "Fine you can stay."
"Yes." The dragon and witch duo say and leave the room.
"And of course we're not gonna follow our destinies." Said Draco.
"Of course." Said Raven as the two-part ways.
While Draco is trying to get to class Blondie walks up to ask Draco questions.
"Hey Draco, wait up. I want to ask you some questions for my mirrorblog." Said Blondie.
"No idea what that is." Said Draco who no longer has to hide his wings so he has them clearly visible so he flies away.
Later at the castleterria Draco eats by himself until some of the rebels sit with him. Specifically Hunter, Cerise, Cedar, Maddie and Sparrow.
"That fight yesterday was awesome." Said Sparrow.
"I can't tell a lie, you're famous." Said Cedar.
"But did you have to hit Apple, it's not okay to hit girls." Said Hunter.
"To be fair Ravens the first girl I ever met and that was a few days ago." Said Draco which causes everyone to have confused looks. "I grew up in a cave."
"So how come Headmaster Grim didn't hexspell you?" asked Cerise.
"Technicality. I somewhat have a destiny."
"Well thanks to Raven none of us have a destiny anymore." Said Daring as the main Royals were overhearing their conversation.
"Raven wants to follow her own destiny." Said Cerise.
"Yeah, not everyone gets a happy life like you Royals, some of us want our own happily ever after's." Said Draco.
"Dragons can't have happily ever after's." Said Daring which causes Draco to rise up until Cerise and Hunter stopped him.
"Your only making him stronger by letting him make you angry." Said Hunter.
"Daring is just being a dick, just ignore him." Said Cerise and Draco sits down.
While they were eating food Draco notices Kitty Cheshire and flies off which everyone sees. "What are you doing?"
"I was just trying to have fun." Said Kitty.
"Oh, sorry I'm still not used to being around people. Just don't bother my friends." Said Draco.
"How did you notice me anyway?" asked Kitty.
"I just saw you after I heard you teleport." Said Draco whose senses are enhanced stronger than a normal person.
Draco flies down and Daring left him a note as lunch is almost over. Reading the note it says 'a dragon can't have a happily ever after and we will duel to prove me right, winner leaves Ever After High forever. – Daring the most handsome and perfect student of Ever After High.'
Draco crushed the note but Blondie already recorded the whole thing. "You read it hear folks, new student Draco King is going to duel Daring Charming, place your bets on who will win. I be here to broadcast the whole event." And thanks to Blondie everyone knows about Draco and Daring fighting, great.
"What does Charming have against me?" asked Draco.
"It's because you're a dragon." Said Hunter.
"The Charmings' have been slaying dragons for generations. Daring loves showing off and since you're the Dragon King's son Daring's ego thinks he can beat up and become a legend." Said Cerise.
"You're going to fight him, aren't you?" said Raven already knowing the answer.
"Don't worry Raven. The writer won't let Draco lose since he is the protagonist." Said Maddie which confuses everyone.
"If I don't fight him he'll just continue going after me and the rest of the rebels. I'll do it." Said Draco which everyone is shocked.
We now head to the Bookball stadium where coach gingerbread man is announcing the rules.
"In ancient times duels were to the death, but today you will only fight until one of you can't fight anymore or I declare a winner. Daring is using his sword but since this is Draco King's first duel he can pick his weapon."
Draco checks out the weapons and notices a large all black sword.
"That sword is too heavy for anyone to lift up. The last person to lift it up disappeared a long time ago." Said the coach but Draco grabs it and lifts it up with no effort and easily swings it around with one hand.
"Is it okay if I use this?" asked Draco and the coach nods yes. "Also before we begin I would like to make a bet."
"What are your terms?" asked Daring confident in his ability to win.
"If I win you and White have to say that the Rebels are right while Lockes records it and post it on her mirrorblog that the other Rebels told me about. If you win then I will be your personal servant until we graduate and I'll become a Royal."
Daring doesn't even hesitate to accept the deal.
"Now before we begin one more rule. No armor and to make sure no ones cheating both contestants will be fighting shirtless." Said the coach.
"Um what if a girl is one of the fighters?" asked Draco.
"Women can't fight, themes the rules." Answered the coach.
"That's sexist." Said Draco. He asks Raven to hold his jacket and Draco and Daring take off their shirts.
Pretty much everyone is impressed by Draco's build and to give you an idea think Natsu Dragneel from Fairy Tale for the imagination. There is also noticeable black and purple scales on his arms and back where his wings are.
The begin the fight and Daring charges at Draco who just dodges and jumps up to one of the goal post and jumps and is no behind Daring.
"Why wont you take this seriously?" Daring is still trying to strike down Draco who isn't really taking this fight seriously.
While blocking Daring's strikes with his much bigger sword Draco's enhanced vision and hearing allows him to see a giant blast of energy that causes him to push Daring down so that they don't get hit.
The Hunters appear with a new weapon, a giant armored tank with a laser cannon and the hunters have rifles now.
"All great." Draco said sarcastically. "Do these guys just come once a day to try and kill me?"
"What are you giving up?" asked Daring who wants to finish the fight.
"Are you kidding?" Draco angerly asks. "You see want these guys are doing. The will kill people just for not being 'normal' these guys are the real villains, you Charmings are supposed to be heroes well then you'd put your pride aside to fight these guys."
Daring realizes he is a right and shakes his hand "Truce?"
"Truce."
Draco flies up to try to get the tank to fire at him instead of anyone else and it works but the tank is thankfully only a prototype so it has to recharge for 5 minutes after every shot.
Daring grabbed a shield to protect himself from the bullets from the hunter's guns and charges at one knocking one down and another he disarms with his sword and punches him to knock him out.
Another appears and asks:
"Why don't you join us? You're a charming, a dragon killer. Why are you fighting us?"
"I may be a Charming but I have no interest in serving you. Some of my friends are magic, besides I would never want to hide my beautiful face."
Before the Hunter could fire Sparrow knocked him out with his guitar.
"Could've grabbed an actual weapon?"
"Well this is technically an axe."
Draco is flying down after hearing someone moaning in pain and lifts up to reveal Briar.
"Briar are you okay? I mean of course your not okay I just pulled you out of rubble." While Draco is ranting Briar throws a ball at a Hunter which alerts Draco so he can finish him off. "I'll fly you off."
Draco holds Briar bridal style, causing the two to blush, flying off hoping to get out until the tank fires again.
"Oh shi—"
Before the tank hits them Raven uses her magic to lift up the tank's cannon causing it to just fire at the sky.
"Thanks Raven." Draco flies down closer to the entrance of the school. "Stay safe Briar."
"Wait Draco, I'm throwing a party for both Rebels and Royals, you want to come?" asked Briar.
"Um… yes. I'd love to." Draco says after he flies off.
While flying off Draco runs into Dexter who alerts Draco causing him to fly down.
"Draco! I have a plan for you to beat that machine." Said Dexter.
"I think the Hunters called them tanks." Draco interrupted.
"I don't think it matters what they are called. But it should have a power source. If you blast it with fire in the canon and if it isn't fire resistant it should explode." Explained Dexter.
"Thanks Charming."
Draco easily flies through the opponents in front of him and gets a few good swings of his sword when he gets to the tank.
Draco lands on the tank and jams his sword in preventing the canon from moving so Draco walks in front of the canon and breathes fire on it. The flames began to melt the metal of the tank and cause the energy inside causing it to explode.
As the explosion settles revealing Draco holding his sword in those cool ways with it on his shoulder.
"Should've made your weapons fireproof if you wanted to fight a dragon."
Everyone is cheering until headmaster Grim appears. "What happened here?"
Daring comes up and Draco assumes that he'll make this all Draco's fault but what he does surprises everyone.
"You see these same men who attacked us yesterday came back and me and Draco fought them, in fact we only won because of Mr. King."
"As long as you are all alive and mostly unharmed you're not in trouble." Said Grimm.
"Wait! What do I do with this sword?" asked Draco.
"Keep it, you picked it for your duel and you're the only person that can lift it, so you can keep it." Grimm answered as he walked off.
"Hey Charming, why didn't you use this to make me look like the bad guy?" asked Draco. "I know you don't like me."
"Simple I want a rematch where you'll take me seriously and we'll be at full strength. Can't do that if your hexspell." Answered Daring.
"Fairest."
Draco then goes to Blondies office where he decided to let Ever After know his story.
"Hello fairy tale friends and welcome to my mirrorshow. Today we'll be interviewing Ever After High's new student Draco King."
The camera points at Draco now wearing his shirt and jacket again.
"Hi." He says waving to the camera.
"So what's your story Draco?"
"Well, you might have heard of my father, the Dragon King but I never knew my mother, all I knew is that she's human." Hearing this causing everyone watching to start gossiping rumors about Draco, except for the main Rebels and Briar. "I grew up in a cave with my father. I pretty much only got out when I sneak out, but doing so got me interested in music."
"Wow that's quite the story, now I have some questions. How did you get those muscles?"
"I didn't have much to do so I worked out a lot and trained to keep in shape."
"Question two: are you and Raven dating? Or are you actually cousins."
"That's two questions and no we're no dating or related but Raven is the first friend I ever made."
"Final questions who are those guys you've been seen fighting?"
"I don't really know much about them other than that they're called the Hunters, no relation to Huntsman, and that they want to capture and kill all magical creatures. Except for dragons, they want nothing more than to kill us."
Hearing this shocks everyone as their used to magic and see it as a way of life and that there are people who will kill others just for being magical in any way.
"That's horrible. I think I can thank you on half of everyone ever after."
While Draco is being interviewed the master hunter, who is more muscular than the rest of the hunters and has a dragon's skull helmet, sees this video and throws his mirropad into the wall smashing it.
"Can you believe it! Their making us out to be the villains while that dragon is seen to be a hero." Yelled out the Master.
"Boss we know this is a bad time but we have an idea on how to beat the dragon." Said one of the Hunter's engineers.
"You better give me something good because I'm in a tortuous mood. And I still have to go to that meeting with Farquaad." The master looks at the blueprints and smiles under his mask.
"We've been studying the dragon and we believe we built his match." Said the engineer.
"I like this already."
Sorry I take so long to update I try to as much as possible but I always have a lot on my plate.
