Jaina Yuki looks like Serena from Pokémon

.

.

Everything had been normal for the past few weeks as the time to enter Dual Academy arrived within the first sight of the leaves changing. Jaina stared down at her school photo card as she walked beside Jaden as the two continued to walk down the hallway of the airport trying to find the passageway that would lead them to the plane taking them to the school.

"Hm," Jaina hummed with a hand grabbing the duffle bag strap. "Where is it?"

Jaden's brown eyes were wandering around the area and looked ready to run off to find the passageway. Only the female had a feeling she'd lose sight of Jaden if he did run off and neither of them would make the plane ride to the school.

"No idea," Jaden admits.

"Only we would lose an airplane," Jaina admits with a frown on her face, blue eyes looking down toward the floor.

Yoko nods his head in agreement. Yes, only the Yuki twins could lose something like a plane.

"Jaina. Jaden," a male voice cried from behind them.

Jaina quickly turned her head at the sound of the voice. She gave a small laugh and sent a smile toward the blue haired boy with glasses when Syrus ran toward Jaden and her within the airport, waving his head with a bright smile on his face.

"Syrus," she greeted.

"Hi, Sy," Jaden adds.

"Hey," Syrus answered as he hugged the two siblings. "How have you guys been?"

"We've been fine," Jaina admits with a gleeful smile before frowning. "But we could be better if we can find the gate number."

Syrus raised an eyebrow. "The gate number is over there," he admits as he pointed toward the gateway which was labeled; number six.

"Six!" Jaden exclaimed in shock before looking at the gate number Jaina and himself had. "Ours says nine."

"Nine?" the blue haired boy questioned. He looked at the card for a minute before shaking his head and frown when he discovered what was going on. "Your gate pass is upside down."

"Upside down," Jaina exclaimed as she turned her card around and discovered it was indeed the number six for gate six and not gate nine-which didn't even exist. "You're right. It was upside down."

"How did you not know that?" Jaden asked Jaina.

The female let out a small gasp and looked at Jaden. "How didn't you know that?"

"You're the smart one."

"You're the one that always finds our way to the place where we're supposed to be."

"Why…oh dear why…" Yoko mumbled under his breath. "Do you both share the same brain cell sometimes?"

"Kooh."

"Kooh."

"Not now," Yoko growled at the two annoying creatures that Yugi had given the Yuki twins.

The airport was busy with normal citizens and school students that were heading to the Academy to learn how to play card games. Chazz Princeton walked through the crowd that had gathered near gate six as his dark eyes were wandering around the place and trying to find Alexis. He knew that she wouldn't enter on the airplane to the island a whole two hours early without speaking with Zane. Clearly those two would be in the area.

Chazz's eyes landed on the small blue haired boy that was Zane's younger brother, Syrus, which meant that older Truesdale was somewhere within the area. He didn't know much about Syrus-even though Alexis mentions the young kid a few times over the past few years. The small boy was talking to a brown-haired girl and the boy that defeated Crowler at the academy entrance test.

He would've walked over to see what the kid that defeated Crowler actually had skills or luck. But he didn't have time to waste because his main goal was to find Alexis and he was about to look away because he felt dizzy.

His eyes seemed to fade in and out as his head became dizzy. His vision blurred for a second as he took notice of a spirit-a Duel Monster creature that had three eyes and bat-like wings with very sharp claws along with two puff ball creatures beside them.

"Huh?" Chazz breathed in confusion.

Only he quickly shut his eyes as he understood what was happening. It was…he was seeing things once again. Things that weren't real and just tricks of the mind. Light and Darkness Dragon had just been a card not an actual living creature…it was just a trick of the mind.

Duel spirits weren't real.

Chazz couldn't see these things.

They were just images that didn't act like living things.

It was a card game and nothing more.

Chazz waited a minute before opening his eyes as the dizziness left his body. He blinked once and took notice that the creatures were gone like they never been their to being with in the first place. He left out a small breath before turning away from the group of three.

"Chazz," Alexis's voice rang out.

The male turned and looked at the female that was walking toward him. "Alexis," he answered to the girl.

"You alright?" The female asked with concern, dancing within her voice.

Chazz understood what the female was asking about because she must have seen how he was closing his eyes and looking ready to fall over a few seconds ago. He gave the girl a small nod. "Yeah…I'm fine. Why? Do I not look fine?"

Alexis raised an eyebrow before saying, "You're acting like your normal self-centered self."

Self-centered, really. Chazz thought with a frown.

The male and female began to walk to the side and sat down on one of the benches that had blue cousins lining the wood and sat down. Chazz pretends not to be phased by Alexis' earlier comment and stares at her for a minute before looking out the window.

"Okay…so you sent a message last night and said you want to speak with me before…" Alexis said before looking down toward her lap.

"I think you know what I want to talk to you about," Chazz quickly said to the female and no longer wished to speak in an awkward way. "You shouldn't go to Duel Academy."

The female face quickly turned into fury. "Chazz I'm going to the school and- "

"And what?" The male challenged with his arms crossed in front of his chest. "Find your brother that's been missing for two years. Yeah, I always thought you would go to Duel Academy for that very reason." He already vowed to himself to keep Alexis safe, but he couldn't always be around to make sure she didn't come across the thing that caused her brother to disappear.

"It's more than just- "

"I know. You'll have Zane who has been searching for answers ever since Atticus and those other students disappeared." Chazz felt a cold chill run down his spine while saying Atticus' name for the first time in a long time. He'd mentally called the other male Alexis' brother for some time and never said his real name out loud to hide the pain of his disappearance.

The youngest Princeton brother would never admit it out loud because he personally felt Atticus' disappearance as much as Alexis and everyone else that knew the male. Atticus had helped Chazz get the confidence to try and ask Alexis out on a date, even though it backfired horrible. Plus, Atticus promised Chazz to teach him some cool new Dueling tactics but he never got the chance to teach him before he disappeared.

Yeah. Chazz suffered just like Alexis and Zane without Atticus around but the dark-haired teenager had enough sense within his mind to understand that Atticus wouldn't want them looking for him if it meant they'll be placed in danger.

"Chazz." Alexis said as her eyes landed on his for a moment. "Atticus- "

"Wouldn't want you trying to find him," Chazz finally shouted. "Don't you understand how dangerous this is? What can happen to you?"

"Chazz, I already made my choice. It shouldn't concern you- "

But it does. Chazz thought only to grip his hands into a tighter fist and glared at Alexis for a moment before relaxing his grip and letting his hands fall to his side because the concern, he was showing was falling on deaf ears. "You're right…I shouldn't be concerned after your choices."

"Huh?" Alexis suddenly spoke in shock because she was confused by his answer.

"It's your choice," Princeton continued to say as he turned around and began to walk away. "See you at the school."

Then he kept walking straight ahead and tried not to look Alexis in the eyes or even speak to her again. Chazz already had his answer because talking Alexis out finding her brother was never going to work and he should've known that…and he did. He just thought he could make her see reason.

Oh…. well.

He was Chazz Princeton and would still try to find a way to keep Alexis safe.

But he still wanted to tell the female how he felt about her plan. It was a dumb plan because no one knew what happened to Atticus. He was gone…missing to parts unknown…. disappeared along with several other students. The odds of finding him were impossible…but that didn't mean they wouldn't find the one responsible for the disappearances.

That was the big risk that kept on slamming against Chazz's brain.

That's what made Chazz worry for Alexis.

But even that concern wouldn't make the female stop.

Chazz wanted to find Atticus…to keep that promise.

He let out a small breath as he moved toward the plan only to see Zane leaning off to the side…his teal eyes were watching Chazz's every movement which made him lock his dark eyes on Zane's own.

"What do you want, Truesdale?" Chazz asked as he kept his voice annoyed.

Zane gave a hum before turning his attention back to his brother.

Chazz rolled his eyes and followed his look back to Syrus for a moment before shaking his head. He really didn't understand what was going on between Zane and his little brother and didn't want to be dragged into someone else's family messes. Chazz already has Alexis' families' problems because of Atticus being missing. Plus, Chazz had his own family problems when it comes to his own older brother's that wanted Chazz to live up to the Princeton name and help them rule the world.

He didn't want a third family problem in his head before he even attended class. Especially when it was not his family. He was getting dragged into several problems and he didn't have the mind or time to bother with it.

Only for his eyes to blur as he saw two puffball looking spirits flying with the brown hair girl and boy that Syrus was talking to with excitement on his face.

No.

Not this again.

Those floating spirits are not real.

Not real.

Duel Spirits were not real.

Chazz blinked his eyes and squeezed them shut.

But in his mind the image of a dragon that was half white and half black formed in the middle of the air before its card could be played. The dragon that cared and wanted to work alongside him in partnership…until….

Until…. that day.

No.

Chazz shook his head to block out the memory because that dragon was a normal playing card in a Duel Monster came and nothing more. Nothing.

"Chazz, are you okay?" Zane's cold sounding voice asked with a small bright light or warmth that seemed to show he was concerned about him.

"Yeah…I'm fine," he answered before opening his eyes.

Zane looked at Chazz's pale face. "You look sick."

"I'm not sick," Chazz spat to the third-year student. "I'm only furious about Alexis and- "

"She'll still be trying to find her brother regardless of what either of us tell her," Truesdale explained. "But it's nice that you are showing concern."

"Of course, I am…dummy," Chazz shouted as he glared at the older student.

"So, your back to name calling."

"Don't start with me Truesdale!" Princeton continued to say about the matter.

Already Chazz's head was hurting and he was back seeing Duel Spirits. It was hard to block out seeing them…because they shouldn't be real. They couldn't be real…because that would mean he was not crazy at all…no. Duel Spirits were not real.

Nothing with that dragon had been real.

He wanted to scream.

Only he wanted to turn his head back in the direction of Syrus and his two brown haired friends and shout at them for giving him this headache.

Only he didn't and kept his eyes on Zane.

"Fine…but we should try to protect Alexis encase she unearths something important," Zane explained to Chazz.

"Huh?" the black-haired boy asked in confusion.

"You heard me," Zane explained. "We need to watch over Alexis."

"I know that," Chazz insisted. "But why are you telling me this?"

"Because Alexis is determined to find a clue or an answer," Zane said before looking away from the first-year student. "I fear that would cause whoever took the students to strike against her."

"Why?"

Truesdale shook his head before looking into Chazz's black eyes. "Because I've been looking in secret for two years and trying to find something. Anything… but Alexis is Atticus' sister. So, I think the person might strike again?"

Chazz shook his head at the information, "So, you're just assuming all of this."

"Yes," Zane admits to Chazz. "Because no other students have disappeared for the last two years." Truesdale had been on the island for the rest of his first year when Atticus and the others disappeared and then his second year where nothing happened.

"Didn't Kaiba and Yugi try to search for them?"

"Yes, but they know that someone must have opened a gate or something to the shadow realm. They don't know which students or adults did it…even if they did, they wouldn't say who," Zane admits with a small shake of his head. "At the moment the public believes that the students missing are on a trip or are staying at the island due to special classes." No one wanted to explain that several students disappeared into the shadows by unknown means…even though many wanted answers. Only the people that were present or involved in the investigation know this.

Zane had been a suspect for a while due to his personality…only he was crossed off the list because both of his friends went missing. Crowler had been also on the list of people possible behind it, but regardless of the teacher being patty and trying to kick students out of school he was not considered to be a threat since he had nothing against the missing students…and Crowler cares about the kids in his own way. Banner was considered due to be a new teacher that year, but nothing linked him to the shadows so he was crossed off the list.

Chazz just hummed.

"Alexis can handle herself," Zane admits to Chazz.

Chazz gave a small nod. "I know that."

"I know," Zane whispered to him, sadly. "But you need to also look out for yourself…Alexis wouldn't want you harmed, Chazz."

Chazz knew that his life was not worth throwing away because of Alexis. That was not part of his plan when he vowed to protect the female.

"I know," he said to Zane rather bluntly. "She'll be hurt if anything happens to me." And Chazz knew that Alexis didn't care for him romantically, but they were friends. Regardless of his feelings toward the female. "Plus, she'll blame herself since she was looking for her brother which could lead to me being hurt. But someone has to watch over her when Atticus is gone."

That was why Chazz watched over Alexis. That's why he vowed to watch over her. It was about Atticus and not the foolish crush he had on her. It was all about Atticus wanting his sister safe. That much Chazz understood because the older Rhodes sibling loved his younger sister with all his heart…that was something Chazz could honor.

"So, you have thought this over?" Zane asked with an eyebrow raised.

"Yes," Chazz admits because his brain was not dumb. He thought over everything for the last few months. "I'm not stupid."

"Good," Zane breathed before turning on his heel and walking away.

Chazz shook his head before glancing in Alexis's direction before heading to the plan. Duel Academy waited and everything that would follow could end with Chazz possibly getting hurt keeping a girl safe. Even though his goal was to still become the Next King of Games.

Unfortunately for him…he has a destiny on the island that is connected to something that existed some time after the Pharaoh.

The plane that was taking the group of students to Duel Academy was large in size with hundreds of blue seats. Jaina and Jaden stared at the area with childish wonder for they had never been surrounded by so many Duelists before in their lives.

"Wow," Jaina whispered.

Jaden gave a nod. "Yeah… so many people to Duel in the future."

Syrus looked at the twins for a moment and gave a small nod. "Yeah."

Yoko let out a small huff before shaking his head. He didn't want any of this Duelist to harm Jaden or Jaina. Plus, he would also have to take care of Yubel's guarding duty to watch over Jaden and not just Jaina for now. All he could do was hope that Yubel showed up soon.

"This place is going to be fun," Jaden admits with a carefree smile.

"Yeah," Jaina cheered in a yippy way. "And your dream to be The Next King of Games."

Jaden's grin turned into a bright smile. "Yeah…the next king."

Syrus turned and looked at Jaden with a surprise look. "You're aiming for the Next King of Games, too?"

"Are you aiming for the Next King of Games, Sy?" Jaden wondered with an eyebrow raised because even he knew that several Duelists were aiming for the same goal as he was.

Syrus shook his head. "No…I just want to be at the top…and be like…" he stopped talking because he didn't want to bring up his brother or his goal to Jaden and Jaina because he would rather not be compared to Zane.

Jaina raised an eyebrow at Syrus' words and could tell that something else was going on with him, but she didn't understand what was preventing the boy from telling them. She just nodded her head and didn't bring up the subject because the blue haired boy wanted to avoid it.

"Okay," Jaden answered with a concerned look before shaking his head because Syrus would tell them if he wanted to.

"Let's have a good first year, Syrus," Jaina admits to the boy.

Syrus gave a nod and a smile toward the brown-haired female. "Of course."

"This is going to be great," the female continued with a bright smile at him.

"Yep."

"Yeah, it will be," Jaden answered. "Let's find some seats."

The three looked around the plane for some seats and found that they were near Bastion Misawa.

"Bastion," Jaina shouts as she quickly moves over to the male with a wave. "It's good to see you again."

Bastion seemed caught off guard by Jaina's words for a second because no one had greeted him like a long-lost friend before. "Oh, Jaina…that was your name, right?"

"Yeah," she answered with a bright grin. "I'm so glad you remembered it." Not many people actually bothered to remember her name before. This was the first time someone seemed grateful to see her because most of the neighborhood kids called her a witch or Jaina rather bitterly for reasons she didn't understand.

"Of course," Bastion answered, unsure about what to say. "Oh, I see Jaden is here as while along with…"

"Syrus," the blue haired boy admits.

"Right."

Jaden looked at the students in front of Bastion that were in front of him. "Syrus and I will sit in the front and Jaina and sit beside you."

"Oh, good idea," Jaina answered to her brother.

Bastion gave a small nod. "Okay. Hopefully Jaina doesn't mind me talking about my Deck formulas."

"They sound interesting," Jaina admits to him. "So, tell me everything. I never met anyone that used Deck Formulas to win Duels until you."

"Of course," he answered with a grin, grateful that someone was willing to listen to his dueling methods.

Yoko rolled his eyes. "As long as it's not as annoying as the puffballs."

Both Winged Kuriboh and Kuribon appeared and glared at Yoko.

"Kooh."

"Kooh."

"If you two think I'll be listening to the two of you during this plane ride, then you both are going to the graveyard!" Yoko threatened.

"Kooh…"

Jaina and Jaden do share a brain cell at times. Most of the time the brain among the twins is Jaina. But sometimes they both act dumb. Which is rather funny. But Jaina is always considered the smart twin while Jaden doesn't have a genius level intellect.

Yoko is still dealing with Kuribon and Winged Kuriboh. (He's having fun. Even though he wouldn't admit it. Because he does secretly care about the two spirits. He just wouldn't admit it because most spirits do run away from him.)

Meanwhile, Chazz is trying to block out his ability in seeing Duel Spirits and it hurts his brain. There were some hints to Light and Darkness Dragon to explaining about what happened to the card. But why is Chazz trying to say that he can't see Duel Spirits and that they aren't real is due to the past with his brothers and their goal about him being the next king of games. (More will be explained later).

Yes, Chazz and his crush on Alexis is still in this (Like I said before) because it is important to his character. Even though it happened much earlier within the fic's timeline and Alexis already rejected him. (Plus, Jaina x Chazz is a slow burn throughout season 1 up till Chazz-anova. So, his crush on Alexis will be very much present in the story for a while.)

As for Chazz's relationship with Atticus is important for future plot reasons. Keep in mind the promise that Chazz made to Duel Atticus (you readers can kinda figure out what I am planning for the future already) and Chazz wanting to find him for Alexis' sake.

Yeah. In this fic the whole idea of the missing students will end up being leaked and not hidden due to plot. But who will leak the information…is a secret to you readers at the moment. Because it feels wrong for Kaiba to keep it hidden.

Jaina takes an interest in being friends with anyone that acknowledges her existence because of what happened when she was younger by Yoko. Since no one is calling her witch or names she's going to try and be friends with anyone. (That's why she is not phased by Chazz's comments in the future.)

No Zeke this chapter because he's already at Duel Academy getting things ready for the First Years.

Next chapter is the first half of Welcome to Duel Academy (Chazz and Jaina will officially meet for the first time).
