Chapter 8: Day 2: Machines of all Kinds

Later that day, they arrived at the Tacorio Cantina for some outdoor tacos. Ashlee and Serena orded some Chipotle Chicken Tacos and Jamie wanted some grilled steak tacos as her meal. They couldn't resist the amazing smells coming from the stand and they all decided they each wanted a taco for lunch. Jamie and Serena were chatting away while Ashlee looked off into the distance.
Serena looked at Jamie and replied, "That was a long and tough duel. Your Fiend deck is so well made."
She nodded and replied, "I never faced a Dragunity Deck myself and that was my first. I did the best I could and my Fiend deck did me some good."
"You really did and it worked out for you, girl. Dragunities have a a lot of decent dragon Synchros in the group and they are a tricky group of monsters to get right, but can be very powerful and mighty if you know how to use them. I once thought of a deck like that before I decided on a Xyz Swarm deck I have now."
She nodded and then they both noticed Ashlee continuing to look off into the distance a bit and Serena then replied, "Ashlee, you okay over there?"
She nodded and continued to stare at the distance near the area that she went to Madam Lisa's world and then Jamie nodded and replied, "You still remembering what that fortune teller told you?"
She nodded again and then Jamie replied, "No matter what happens, you know me and Serena have your backs and even after this tournament is done for, we'll make sure we keep in touch with one another. You two have been amazing friends to me and I don't want to ever lose our friendship."
Serena smiled and then Ashlee looked back at her and replied, "Thank you for that one, Jamie. I've been in a daze ever since that duel and being away from my special someone is hard enough on me too."
Jamie then replied, "I'd like to know about it as well."
"I'll say as much as I can. I like girls and never was intrested in dating men and then I met this girl Denine and she's my loving girlfriend ever since before this tournament had began and I miss right now."
Jamie smiled and replied, "Anyone should be able to decide what they want to do with their life, who to do be with and what they can and cannot read or write about. The world is a complicated place right now and as long as your happy, that's all that matters to me."
"That goes with me too, Ashlee.", Serena said with a smile. "I agree with everything Jamie just said and it's all crazy to even think about anything that would upset others as long as you and your love are happy, that should be enough fo anyone."
Ashlee smiled and replied, "I'm glad I have friends I can treat me well even though I'm a lesbian myself. I used to have this old friend and before this tournament happened and I met my girlfriend, she gave so much crap about being the way I am and not having a guy she just ended our friendship over something that petty and crazy. I never want to talk that that stuck up woman ever again and she was already on her 3rd boyfriend as it is already."
Jamie then replied, "What a dum dum that woman is, girl. I had this guy named Calvin and I was with him for 3 months and then to enter the State Championship, I had to duel him and after my Fiend army crushed his deck, he called every evil name and blamed me for killing his chances of being a State Champion and then he dumped right in front of a few of my friends and he stormed off and my friends took my side right away and I hope I don't see that asshole myself anymore."
Serena then replied, "I haven'f found a guy yet and I'm 22 right now. I hope to find someone I Can be with and will treat me right."
Suddenly, a waiter came by and his name was Enrique and he replied, "3 Taco Specials and I have 2 chipotle chicken and 1 grilled steak."
The ladies nodded as he sat down the tray of food and each one had a Mexican coke for a drink as well and he smiled and replied, "Help yourselves to our salsa and condiment bar near our order area and enjoy your meals."
"Do you have limes or lemons for the tacos there as well, sir?", a curious Ashlee asked.
"Of course we do. We cut them fresh each morning before we open for the day and you can find out at the end of our condiment bar, miss. Enjoy your lunches, ladies."
He walked away and then Jamie replied, "Anyone want anything from the bar?"
Ashlee nodded and replied, "Lime and a lemon and some mild salsa if they have it."
She nodded and then she left to go there and then Ashlee sighed and replied, "This is going to be a great lunch spot."

On the other side of the island, Edward and Brittany were enjoying some lunch at the same diner Ashlee and Serena ate at and Edward had his deck out and then Brittany smiled and replied, "You did the best you could in your duel, honey. I love you and your deck and you'll win this tournament soon."
He sighed and replied, "I'm not going to let one deep loss get the best of me and my deck. I worked too hard to make the deck I have right now, hon. I thank you for being here with me to help through my tough times."
"That's why I'm also here, love.", Brittany said with a smile. "I'm a duelist here as well, but I wanted to be here to support and help you through your tough duels if you win our lose. You still have plenty of Star Chips and I can't wait to see what other duels will bring you. "
He smiled and resumed, "I still can't believe we were both invited to this amazing tournament and I'm glad we were able to as well. We'll win this tournament and show the world how our decks work!"
She nodded as a waiter brought their food and drinks to them.

Back at the Taco area, the ladies enjoyed their meals and were relaxing a bit.
Ashlee sighed and replied, "That was one of the best tacos I ever had. Spiced just enough and full of amazing flavor and taste."
Jamie nodded and replied, "I'm glad I got a great meal tonight as well. I really did enjoy too. I love spicy food and that was just spiced enough for me."
Serena nodded and then they saw Chrisitan White came in and Ashlee saw him there and replied, "It's that Christian White guy. I wonder if he's dueled yet?"
He was about to go to the order counter, but he saw the ladies and he walked over to them and he smiled and replied, "Afternoon, ladies. I'm the great Christian White of Seattle, Washington and you must be the champions of Georgia, Florida and Tennessee. It's a honor to meet all three of you fine duelists."
They all smiled and then Jamie thenreplied, "Nice to meet in you person, sir. I'm Jamie and these are my friends Ashlee and Serena. We've only heard about you and this is our first time meeting you in person. It's honor to do so, sir."
"Likewise, madam. I actually watched your first duel and your Fiend Deck is really powerful and anyone should be worried about facing it in a duel."
Jamie blushed at this and then he looked at Ashlee and replied, "I've heard nothing except great things about your deck as now, miss. You have a decent dragon deck."
She blushed as well and then Serena then replied, "Have you dueled at all yet, sir?"
"Not at all right now and I think I'm losing chances of actually getting to duel."
She nodded and then they saw a guy walking in and he wore a black cowboy hat, a leather jacket covering a white shirt as well as cowboy boots and leather pants with a belt through them and Christian saw him and replied, "Who's the cowboy guy?"
Serena nodded and replied, "It's that Oklahoma State Champion Elijah James. I heard he has a very powerful deck and can smash through anything that gets in his way."
Christian nodded and replied, "You want to duel this guy, Serena? I want to see your Fire Deck in motion and I'm not ready to duel yet."
Serena smiled and she got up and replied, "Let me get his attention first."
She waived to get his attention and then he walked over and replied, "Good day to you all. How's the dueling?"
He noticed Chrisitan White and he smiled and replied, "The great Christian White here in front of my own eyes as well! I would he honored to duel you, sir."
"It's a honor, my friend. I'm not intrested in dueling yet, but that lady Serena would like to challenge your deck if you want to face her."
He smirked and then looked at her and replied, "You want to duel me, miss? I haven't lost a duel since the tournament began."
He showed his gauntlet and it had 6 star chips in it and he replied,"I'm a very powerful duelist and I'll give a tough challenge and fight."
"I'm up for a decent challenge anywhere and anytime.", Serena said with a smile and a nod.
"I like your style and I accept your challenge, miss. Let met get a little lunch and we'll have our duel."
He nodded as he want up to order some food and Jamie nodded and then replied, "I can't wait for this duel. I heard he uses some kind of Warrior deck and it's a powerful one as well. I heard it's a strong deck.
Serena nodded and replied, "I'm not worried about it, my friend. My deck can handle anything he sends my way."
Christian then replied, "I like your honestly, Serena. I can't wait to see you both have a great duel."
He nodded as they waited for him to finish ordering and eating.

A little while after he ate quick meal, the duelists were standing across from each other near the table area and many duelists came to watch the duel while sitting down at a nearby table as well well and Jamie nodded and replied, "Time to see how strong this deck really is. I heard this guy has a powerful deck."
Christian nodded and replied, "If your friends deck is strong as she it is, your friend will have no trouble in facing him."
She nodded and then Elijah smiled and replied, "You ready for a great duel, miss?"
She smiled and then replied, "Darn right I am. Let's do this."
"Sounds good to me. How about a 2 Star Chip bet? I have 6 myself and I'm more then confident in my deck."
She smiled and should off her gauntlet of 3 star chips and she smiled and replied, "I'll risk the star chips as well."
"Sounds exciting to me. Let's do this already."
Both activated their duel disks and then both quickly draw 5 cards.
"Game on!", both yelled out.

He smiled and replied, "I've heard of your dueling. miss and I'd be honored for you to take the first move."
"I will. I'll set a monster and that'll end my turn now."
He drew a card and replied, "I summon my buddy Aye-Iron."
He played the card and the cute kangaroo toy with a pair of cymbals appeared (ATK: 1,600).
"Lets do this. Attack her facedown monster!"
The cymbals slammed into each other as a bolt of energy shot out and a fiery lady Pyro appeared on the card (DEF: 200) and the attack slammed into it and it moaned and burst into fiery embers.
"Your Neo Flamvell Lady was no match for my monsters. I end my turn now."
He drew a card and resumed, "I summon my Great Angus."
He played the card as the fiery tusked beast appeared (ATK: 1,800).
"Attack his machine."
The fiery beast charged and rammed into the machine and blew it into little scraps of metal (Elijah LP: 8000 - 7800).
"Your move now, sir."
He drew a card and resumed, "I'll set a monster and call it a turn now."
She drew a card and resumed, "I summon my Neo Flamvell Shaman."
She played the card and another Pyro appeared in a burst of fiery embers (ATK: 1,700).
"Time to fight. Great Angus, attack."
The beast charged in and a GIant Rat appeared on the card (DEF: 1,450) and the beast tackled it and blew it into pixels and then a 2nd Rat appeared (ATK: 1,400) and the fiery Shaman let out a fiery burst of energy and struck it down, burning the large Beast into fiery cinders (Elijah LP: 7800 - 7500) and he nodded and resumed, "I Special Summon my Boot-Up Soldier - Dread Dynamo."
She played the card and a large robot with a opened section on its chest appeared (ATK: 0).
"I see. I'll set a card and that's my turn now."
He drew a card and resumed, "I'll activate my Machine Duplication to Special Summon another one from my deck."
A 2nd of the bulky bots appeared (ATK: 0).
"I now summon my Green Gadget."
He played the card and a cute green robot appeared (ATK: 1,400) and then the Dynamos began to glow with energy (ATK: 0 - 2,000).
"I'll grab a Red Gadget from my deck then."
She played the card and resumed, "I equip my Green Gadget with Mist Body."
A misty layer covered the machine.
"I now activate my Machine Assembly Line."
He played the card and the Spell appeared (ATK: 2,000 x2 - 2,200 x2) - (ATK: 1,400 - 1,600).
"lets do this. Dynamos, attack!"
The robots left arm glowed as it morphed into a small cannon and fired a fiery bolt of energy and it shot out and struck, blowing Great Angus to pieces and then the 2nd one did the same and fired a fiery bolt as well and it struck down, striking the Pyro and it vanished in a fiery cloud of black smoke (Serena LP: 8000 - 7100) and then she poitned to her facedown card and a Call of the Haunted appeared as the Neo Flamvell Lady appeared (ATK: 1,600).
"I don't trust the cards in your hand, so I'll end my turn now."
She drew a card and resumed, "Your loss. I summon my Flamvell Rat."
She played the card and a small rat-like creature made of flames and small red stones appeared (ATK: 500).
"I tune my monsters together."
She glowed as the small Pyro turned into 2 white stars, which turning into green rings and the rings went through Neo Flamvell Lady, which turned into 4 white stars (*2 + *4 = *6).
"From the molten depths of the fiery lakes of Hell and the molten rivers of Gehenna! A burning scourge surfaces to scour the world in a fiery tsunami! Synchro Summon! Descend, Flamvell Noble Kassuth!"
She played the card and a paunchy large sized killer whale-like creature made of red hot volcanic stones covered in hot flames with a human-like face, two fiery opals for eyes and a crown of flames at the top of its head (ATK: 2,400) and Christian saw the monster and he nodded and resumed, "Never seen this one before."
"When Flamvell Rat is used in a Synchro Summon, one of your Spell or Traps is trashed!"
The small Pyro flew in and it exploded and blew the misty layer and Spell card to bits.
"Destroy his monster!"
The huge Pyro let out a huge burst of hot flames and it struck the small robot and its body melted cleanly in half at the center before the remains fell apart and shattered against the ground (Elijah LP: 7500 - 6700) - (ATK: 2,200 - 200).
"Your move, buddy."
He drew a card and resumed, "I'll switch my Dynamos to defense and then I'll activate my Iron Draw."
The spell appeared and he drew two cards and resumed, "I'll set a card for later and that's my turn now."
She drew a card and resumed, "I summon my Flamvell Grunika."
She played the card and the fiery dragon appeared (ATK: 1,700).
"Kassuth, attack one of those bots."
The Pyro let out another blast of flames and it struck, blowing the robot into a fiery pile of broken & melted metal and she pointed as her Dragon glowed and she resumed, "I activate Blustering Winds!"
The spell appeared and it glowed (ATK: 1,700 - 2,700) as a small fiery burst shot out and struck, melted a hole through the center of the machine. The damaged machine fell backwards, shattering to pieces as it struck the ground behind it and then small fireballs shot out and struck (Elijah LP: 6700 - 5900).
"I'll set a couple of cards and its your move now."
He drew a card and resumed, "I activate my Powerhold the Moving Battery."
The trap appeared and a large robot with a cannon appeared (ATK: ? - 200)
"I use its effect and equip it with a Gold Gadget from my deck."
The golden robot appeared and flew into the trap monster (ATK: ? - 3,400 - 3,600).
"It gains attack equal to double of the equipped base attack is. 'll summon my other Gold Gadget and the ability will be my Red Gadget."
Another Gold robot appeared (ATK: 1,700 - 1,900) next to the smaller red robot (ATK: 1,300 - 1,500) and Jamie nodded and replied, "Gadget decks are very tricky, but super powerful if used right."
"Lets do this. Gold Gadget, attack her dragon!"
The machine went and punched the Dragon in the chest and it growled before shattering.
"Powerhold, attack!"
It aimed his cannon as a huge blast of pure energy shot out and slammed into the Pyro and it glowed before it erupted in a fiery explosion of ash & soot (Serena LP: 7100 - 5700) and she nodded and repleid, "I activate my Option Hunter."
The trap appeared and he glowed (Serena LP: 5700 - 8100) and he nodded and pointed as the machine went in and punched at Serena's left arm (Serena LP: 8100 - 6600).
"There you go, lady. I end my turn now."
Serena drew a card and resumed, "I'll activate my Spellbooks from the Pot."
Both drew 3 cards and resumed, "I activate my Hand Destruction."
She took two cards (A Fire monster and another Great Angus) and then drew 2 cards and then he looked at his hand and discarded a Red Gadget and a Helping Robo for Combat and he drew 2 cards and resumed, "I activate my Call of the Haunted."
The trap appeared and a Flame Ruler appeared (ATK: 1,500).
"I activate Change of Heart."
The spell appeared and the Gold Gadget was pulled to her side of the field.
"I tribute both for my Infernal Flame Emperor."
They both vanished into fiery embers and the huge demon-like Pyro appeared (ATK: 2,700).
"I'll banish my Great Angus and Neo Flamvell Lady to destroy your cards!"
She banished the card and a burst of flames shot out and blew the Assembly Card to bits (ATK: 1,500 - 1,300) - (ATK: 1,900 - 1,700) - (ATK: 3,600 - 3,400)and the bulky robot began to glow red it spots before it exploded into hot shards of metal and the equipped monster fell to the ground and broke into pieces as well.
"Destroy his Red Gadget."
The Pyro glowed as a huge blast of flames shot out and the robot melted down and then its remains shattered into triangles (Elijah LP: 5900 - 4400).
"There you go. I end my turn now."
He drew a card and resumed, "I activate my Pot of Avarice."
He took both Gold Gadgets, and all 3 colored ones and shuffle the cards into the deck and drew 2 cards and he smiled and replied, "How about this. I summon my Silver Gadget and with that ability will summon my Yellow Gadget."
The gold bot appeared and a large yellow robot appeared (ATK: 1,200) and he grabbed his Green Gadget and resumed, "I Overlay my 2 Level 4 Machines."
They both began to glow as they turned into small white orbs and a portal opened up and they flew into them.
"I use these monsters to build the Overlay Network and Xyz Summon. I summon a robot of true power and energy! I Xyz Summon the Gear Gigant X!"
A larger robot appeared on the card (DEF: 2,300).
"I'll ditch a material get a Low level Machine from my deck."
He quickly grabbed a card and resumed, "I activate Shrink."
The spell appeared and the giant Pyro shrank down (ATK: 2,700 - 1,350) and the eyes of the giant robot glowed as two beams of pure energy shot out and cleaved through the Pyro. It roared in pain before it exploded in a shower of ash & smoke (Serena LP: 6600 - 5650).
"Your move now, lady."
He drew a card and resumed, "Your a tough duelist. I'll set a new monster and banish a Fire monster to summon my Spirit of Flames to defend me as well."
She took her Flame Ruler and banished it and Spirit of Flames appeared and knelt (DEF: 1,000)
He drew a card and resumed, "I summon my Machine KIng Protoype."
He played the card and a smaller machine appeared (ATK: 1,600 - 1,700).
"Lets do this. Prototype, attack!"
The machine fired its lasers and a Neo Flamvell Hedgehog appeared on the card (DEF: 600) and the lasers cut through it before it shattered as well.
"Gigant X, attack!"
The eyes of the machine glowed as two beams of fiery energy shot out and struck the Pyro it shattered into fiery embers that turned into small wisps of black smoke.
"Your move, lady."
She drew a card and she smiled and replied, "Since I have no monsters, I can activate my Rising Fire."
The spell appeared and she resumed, "I can now Special Summon any Fire monster I want from my graveyard and I choose the other monster I discarded with my Hand Destruction."
The spell appeared and the beautiful Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys appeared with a mighty caw that sounded like a roaring fire (ATK: 2,400 - 2,900) and Christian nodded and replied, "What a beauty that big girl is."
"Thanks to my Spell It gains 500 attack. Destroy his weaker one!"
The phoenix let out a huge storm of a hot flames and they shot out and reduced the machine to a pile of molten metal (Elijah LP: 4400 - 3200).
"Your move now, buddy."
He drew a card and resumed, "Your a decent duelist, lady. I'll switch my Xyz to defense and then I'll set a new monster and that's all I can do for now."
She drew a card and resumed, "I summon my Blazing Inpachi."
She played the card and the fiery giant appeared (ATK:1,850).
"Inpachi, your up."
He swung his fist and a fiery ball shot out and slammed into the Xyz and it fell backwards and exploded into a fiery pile of scrap metal and he nodded and replied, "I can't use its effect as I don't have any Geargia monsters in my deck."
"Fair enough. Phoenix, attack!"
The mighy creature let out a huge blast of flames and a Morphing Jar appeared on the card (DEF: 600) and the flames blasted it to dust and he discarded a Gadget Soldier and she had nothing to discard and then both drew 5 cards and resumed, "Your move now, sir."
He drew a card and replied, "I summon my Tin Goldfish."
She played the card and a robotic fish appeared (ATK: 800).
"I'll special Summon my Silver Gadget and with the ability I think I'll summon my Mechanicalchaser."
She played the card and the many-armed machine appeared (ATK: 1,850).
"I overlay my three Level 4 monsters."
Each machine glowed as they each turned into small white orbs and then a portal opened up, which they flew into.
"I use these monsters to build the Overlay Network and Xyz Summon. A summon a royal machine with a large and powerful sword. I Xyz Summon my Tinplate Archduke."
He played the card and the large robot warrior appeared (ATK: 2,200) and he resumed, "I'll activate Xyz Booster on my friend and it gains 100 attack for each material that is the same type or attribute and it gains the boost as long as it remains on the field."
The spell appeared and the machine glowed with power (ATK: 2,200 - 2,500).
"I drop 1 Material monster to flip your bird down."
He discarded the Goldfish's card and her phoenix vanished and was replaced with a facedown monster card as the equip card to shattered to pieces.
"I now equip my friend with Fairy Meteor Crush."
The spell appeared and the sword glowed even more.
"I attack your Phoenix."
The machine master and swung his sword down and her phoenix reappeared (DEF: 1,600) and it stabbed the sword into her side and it let out a pained caw before it vanished in a shower of hot ash and a plume of black smoke (Serena LP: 5650 - 4750).
"Your move now."
She drew a card and resumed, "I'll keep my Inpachi where it is and set another facedown monster and that's all I Can do for now."
He drew a card and replied, "I'll summon my other Mechanialchaser."
He played and the normal machine appeared (ATK: 1,850) and he discarded the Gadget card and the Inpachi turned into a facedown monster.
"Archduke will take care of it."
It went and swung his sword and the Pyro appeared before it exploded into fiery embers & puffs of black smoke (Serena LP: 4750 - 2250).
"I attack again."
It went in and her demon-like Kite appeared on the card (DEF: 200) and the machine sliced the demon kite apart with its blades arm and a explosion happened on his side of the field (Elijah LP: 4400 - 3900).
"Clever move there, lady. I end my turn now."
She drew a card and resumed, "I activate my Rekindling."
The spell appeared as the Kite (ATK: 1,600), Neo Flamvell Shaman (ATK: 1,700) and her Neo Flamvell Lady appeared (ATK: 1,600).
"I summon my Flamvell Archer."
She played the card and the fiery archer appeared (ATK: 1,000).
"I tune him with my Neo Flamvell Lady."
The archer glowed as it split into 3 white stars, which turned into green rings and the rings went through the fiery lady Pyro, which turned in to 4 white stars (*3 + *4 = *7).
"The beauty of flames and heat comes together as one to create a creature of fiery beauty and passion! I Synchro Summon in a blaze of flory the Flamvell Enchantress!"
She played the card and a beautiful female of fire wearing a beautiful red dress appeared with a staff with fiery red opals in it (ATK: ?) and Ashlee saw the card and she smiled and replied, "Wow, what a beautiful monster."
Christian nodded and replied, "Quite a Synchro your friend has summoned there."
"Her attack and defense score are equal to the base ATK and DEF of my Synchro Materials."
Her staff began to glow with power and energy (ATK: ? - 2,600).
"I'm not done yet. I'll play Double Summon to tribute my Kite for my Thestalos the Firestorm Monarch."
The kite vanished into fiery particles as the fiery Pyro lord appeared (ATK: 2,400) and a 2nd explosion happened on his side of the field (Elijah LP: 3900 - 3400) and he saw the 3 cards in his hand and resumed, "Discard your middle card."
He nodded and it was a Ancient Gear Gadjiltron Dragon and it bright red as she discarded (Elijah LP: 3400 - 2600).
"Lets do this. Thestalos attacks your Mechanicalchaser."
The arms of the giant glowed as a huge wave of fiery energy shot out and struck and the flames melted the machine in a hot pile of moten metal (Elijah LP: 2600 - 1950).
"Enchantress attacks your Xyz."
She aimed her staff as a huge burst of flames shot out and slammed into the Xyz and fiery cracks formed all over it before a fiery explosion ripped through and reducing into melted pieces of metal that flew around him (Elijah LP: 1950 - 1850) and she smiled and replied, "This duel is over for you now. You now take damage equal to the base ATK of your monsters."
He aimed his staff as a huge burst of flames shot and slammed into him (Elijah LP: 1850 - 0) and everyone cheered as the monsters vanished from sight and Christian nodded and resumed, "What a duel that was. She has a amazing fire deck."
The ladies nodded as Elijah smiled and replied, "You'll be just fine with this tournament, miss. I wish you the best."
He took two star chips and handed them both to her and they both shook hands as he slowly left and then she walked back to the ladies and Christian smiled and replied, "I want to stay a bit longer and chat with you all. Can I do so."
