Merged Tribe
Day 35
Bandana Dee, Gordon Ramsay, Kabal, Li Mei, Matt. and Sonic the Hedgehog
After last nights reward, Matt hits the beach and immediately reports to his ally. Even though he isn't taking Sonic to the final two, filling him in is better than leaving him in the dust. They need each other.
"If we want help, Mei's our best bet. If Kabal's out, we need to force a tie. Somehow." The Mii explains. "She said she'd think about it but after the last time her word could mean nothing."
"I always knew she was shady…but for once it actually helps! She has to know Kabal's gonna stab her in the back…right?" Sonic wonders.
"We're a team, Fatu's a team, so they've gotta be one. Hate to say it, but if we want one, we need both. We gotta tackle Kabal next." Matt explains, giving more work to himself and his partner.
"Oh well, keep hope alive." The hedgehog says with a smile.
Sonic: The second I lose immunity, it's over, it's done. If Mei isn't sticking to us, then I'm going to lose a filter that I barely have. I'd be out or on the bottom so what would I even have to lose?
Elsewhere, Li Mei's speaking with her partner in crime, Kabal. Well, anyone could be at the forefront depending on interpretation. Li Mei spoke with Matt, but Kabal just tried roping in that waddle dee.
"What'd he try?" Kabal asks.
"Campaigning. Not bad by any means, but as long as this battles going on, we will be hearing the same points over and over again. A mild annoyance." Li Mei admits. "But that's a part of it."
"Well aware. I've been scraping by since Kano left, and that's exactly what Matt's looking to do." Kabal adds on.
"You survived. It's questionable whether we'll spare them or not."
Kabal shrugs. "As long as we make the last tribal it's all that matters."
Kabal: While the big guns are taking each other out, I'll be here to pick up the scraps and win the whole d*mn thing. My clan, my fans, and myself are relying on me.
Interesting to see what would happen if he wins…or if he really gets any money at all. Does he take all the cash for himself? Or does he split it with the clan like promised? That's a talk for another day.
Immunity Challenge
"Come on in!"
The six castaways enter the challenge area, Sonic with the immunity around his neck. Soon he'd have to hand it over once again.
"First things first, Sonic I've gotta take that back again."
"Awwww.."
He reluctantly hands it over, and Jeff returns to the good ol' stand and hooks it on. One swift turn from the host later, and it's time to get down to the niddy griddy.
"Alright. Immunity is back up for grabs. For today's challenge, your feet will be tied together. Your arms will be tied to your side. On my go, you're gonna slither through the sand, while using your mouth to drag a buoy through the course. When you get to the end, you're gonna manuever a buoy through a final obstacle, then race to finish a star-shaped puzzle." Jeff explains.
Oh this is from the most recent season, 44! It's called "Union of the Snake."
"First person to finish wins immunity, cannot be voted out tonight. Losers, Tribal Council tonight where someone WILL be the thirteen person voted out, and become the sixth member of the jury."
An unfortunate fate for the player who doesn't get what they've been working towards all this time.
"We're gonna draw for sports and get started."
The six are bound together, on their knees. It's like a vacation horror flick.
"Alright, for immunity. Survivors ready?"
.
.
.
"GO!"
They get to slithering, and Matt jumps forward out the gate, taking an automatic lead over everyone else. He's locked that buoy in his mouth.
"You can start as fast as you want, but do you have the will to make it all the way?"
Kabal, Mei, and Sonic aren't far behind with their buoys, while Bandana Dee's basically stuck in place. He still tries, but can't seem to pass his chef friend at the start. That buoy isn't moving.
"Keep moving, Dee." Gordon says, but it's not helping.
"I'm..TRYING.." Dee sighs. "If only i was bigger."
"You're fine mate, tough it out." The chef says, biting the buoy again and making some progress.
As for the four up ahead, an obstacle is in their way: A couple hills of sand.
"If you could use your arms and legs, this would be a cakewalk. Now you gotta strain yourself just to pass!"
The four grit their way up the first hill, but Matt yet again lunges himself over the first hill, and rolls down. The buoy slips down with him.
Li Mei gets over!
Kabal gets over!
Sonic gets over!
"One more hill to go!" Jeff exclaims, this challenge still a four-horse race to clinch another immunity.
They take a shot at getting over that Sandy hill again, buoys in mouths…and it's STILL even. It may even just come down to the puzzle!
"Matt, Kabal, Li Mei, and Sonic over the second hill, all they have to do is untie…"
The FaTwo are still behind, Gordon just now trying to get over the first hill. "This isn't balanced."
"Quit bitchin' and start rollin'." Jeff, with some bite.
"Bloody hell…" the chef mutters.
"If you dish it out, you better take it!"
The chef raises his head from the sand. "I do it cause they should know better, YOU just do this for fun!"
"You're right I do!"
The four up ahead get closer and closer to getting the buoy out of their hair, and making some serious progress. Matt, Kabal, Mei, and Sonic are basically dead even!
"Matt had the advantage at the start, but it can slip away in an instant." Jeff states, salt in the Mii's wound.
In the end, they all reach it and Jeff gives out the order. "Untie your hands with your feet!"
Matt and Mei get to it first, but Sonic and Kabal fly through that part!
"Now you're gonna manuever that buoy with an obstacle.."
Kabal and Sonic make eye contact.
"Haven't seen this before." Kabal says, as he the hedgehog starts maneuvering that buoy through. "If this keeps up, I'd get used to it."
"You're smugger than Kano."
"I'm not smug…I'm just spitting the facts."
Sonic maneuvers his buoy through first! Kabal isn't far behind, and they're good to go!
"Sonic and Kabal flew through that, their speed triumphs everyone elses. Matt and Mei can still comeback."
While Sonic and Kabal untie their puzzle pieces, The Mii and Mei aren't having too much trouble with their buoy. Li Mei has a lead though, while Matt just shakes his head. "D*mn…" he mutters, and what a lead he just blew.
It was short anyway, but that's a hit to the ego.
Gordon finally gets over the second hill, while Dee works on getting over his first.
"Even though the Fatu are out of it, you have to respect that they are on the grind…that probably won't pay off." Wow, Jeff is feisty this time around. While they seem set to be in last, Kabal and Sonic untie their pieces, and get to work. Both aren't exactly puzzle-savvy, but one could still win due to the others being behind..and some WAY behind.
"It went from a four horse race, to a two horse. Who will win another immunity?"
While they work, Li Mei successfully maneuvers her buoy and gets to untying her puzzle pieces. Matt isn't far behind, as he succeeds and gets to untying his pieces. Those sand hills really punished him like it's a friendly game of "Monopoly."
Matt and Mei reach the puzzle, but are still behind as Sonic's ahead of everyone in the puzzle. It's a star shaped one, and if he doesn't know what a star looks like, he needs to go back to elementary school. Kabal's barely behind by one piece.
"Safe to say, one of you are winning unless the Fatu can somehow get ahead."
Gordon reaches his post, and starts untying the buoy with the little resources he has. Bandana Dee gets over the second hill, and they have some progress. Still not enough though as it's a big race up ahead to see who can call Jeff first.
"It's getting close…"
Matt and Li Mei are getting further, having a few legs put together. However Kabal and Sonic are so close to finishing that star puzzle, only ten pieces away. Everything seems to look good on the surface, as this challenge is about to come to a close.
The person who finishes first is…
.
.
.
.
"JEFFREY!"
The host walks over to check the star, even though that's not a polite way to address him. Those hands are thrown up!
"SONIC WINS INDIVIDUAL IMMUNITY!"
"YEAH!"
The hedgehog claps as he speeds to the necklace stand, Jeff unhooking the necklace. Sonic receives it once again, joy written all over his face.
"Three times? This is radical!" he exclaims.
"Congratulations Sonic. You are once again safe from the vote tonight, and have a one in five chance of winning this game. That's twenty-percent, not many reach this point." The host reminds him. "I don't know what you're talking about but yay me!" Sonic's lost not just his mind, but his math skills. If he has much besides the basics.
The five who don't have the necklace though get a really harsh reminder. "Four of you, still open for Tribal Council tonight. One of you will be the thirteenth person voted out, and the sixth member of our jury. Head back to camp, I'll see you tonight."
The final six leave the challenge area, knowing that someone's deep run is getting cut short. It's not going to be the hedgehog, but he has to make sure it's not Matt.
Sonic: Immunity's cool, it's my THIRD time! I feel like a beast! You know what would be even better though? Saving my bobbleheaded buddy.
Matt may or may not take offense to that. Mii's heads are definitely bigger than the average person, especially his bald one.
Merged Tribe
Bandana Dee, Gordon Ramsay, Kabal, Matt, Li Mei, and Sonic the Hedgehog
The six castaways arrive back at camp, Sonic with that necklace still on him. Even though he hasn't beaten the record Diana set, he still can't get much higher.
(Matt) "You earned it man."
(Li Mei) "Excellent job."
(Kabal) "I'll be getting my win back."
Bandana Dee also jumps in. "You did great at the puzzle!" The hedgehog can't help but revel in this. "Hehe, i shocked myself. Puzzles aren't my forte, know what I mean?"
"Oh I get it."
Bandana Dee: Well drat..we have to go after Matt now. I was hoping we could vote Sonic out before getting to five, but since he's there, that's our problem. Heh, problems..
Dee?
Bandana Dee: ..first Kabal and Li Mei want me to help them, now the one guy I have to get rid of stays. It's nothing against him, he's a great hedgehog but I'm getting overwhelmed.
Speaking of him, he notices the chef staying silent and approaches him.
"Hope you aren't mad about it. You blocked me at eight." Sonic says.
"I'm not mad because you're playing the game, I'd be a knob if I was. Just have to rethink." Gordon answers honestly.
"Fair enough. Can't wait to bicker with you again!" The hedgehog says with a smile. Gordon just keeps a straight face on. "Oh it'll be wonderful."
Gordon: This is dogsh*t I'll tell you. Right when I can finally get him out of here, he wins immunity. Third f*cking time! It's like fate smacked me across the noggin and said he gets to stay.
The chef raises his head to the sky.
Gordon: …WHY GOD?!
He seems happy.
There's not much complicated about the next vote: The Final Two of Kabal and Mei have to pick a side. Fatu or Roku. They've already flipped twice, so a third one may happen. First, they had to get through all the talking points they may or may not have heard already.
First up, the FaTwo.
"Are you still onboard to finish him off?" Gordon asks, referring to the Mii.
"Might as well. Can't just let him stay. He's gonna use the power of the underdogs to win out." Kabal responds. "Best to cut him on his knees."
"Ruthless, but it's what we have to do." Li Mei adds.
"You can do damage control tomorrow. Tonight, we finally split them up." The chef says, confident that those two are with him.
Yet, It doesn't take long for them to run back to Roku, and give them a "eh, we're considering it."
"Gordon's obvious." Matt states. "I've said all I've needed to say to you, Mei."
"I'm leaning towards saving you after our talk on the reward." Li Mei admits. "They just got done speaking to us, yet your point still stands out."
And Kabal? "Don't have anything else to add, I'm going Gordon." Kabal says, lying to someone else's face that day.
"Happy to have you onboard!" Sonic admits, giving them the signature thumbs up.
"There better be a party when it's all over." Kabal jokes.
Li Mei though, wasn't joking. She never does. Not even once.
Li Mei: We're still pretending that we are on each side, but in the end one will be betrayed…again. That's simply the nature of the beast, but that nature could come with consequences. We cannot flip from side to side forever.
Nothing's changed: Matt versus Gordon. One big player will meet their end tonight. It's up to Kabal and Mei to decide which side wins the night.
The two find privacy later and break down the options they have.
"Matt's someone to think about. Even though Gordon and Sonic are our biggest threats, Matt has controlled a majority of the game with that hedgehog. He can talk about how Gordon's threat level is bigger than his all he wants..but both are equal." Li Mei says, throwing out a reason to cut the Mii.
"He's a b*tch to take down. He almost screwed my game back at ten." Kabal points out. Had Matt won that immunity at ten, there's no rock draw.
"His pitch at the reward was decent. Gordon IS scraping by. He IS a jury threat. If he and Dee make it to four, he can survive a tiebreaker against one of us." Ahhh, there still thinking about that deal with Dee! Kabal likely informed her offscreen. "I understand that we are trying to work with Dee, but he will cause a tie if we stick to them until four."
"Matt and Sonic would cause a fatality in a tiebreaker. Matt may not have an immunity, but he's comes close every. Single. Time." Kabal points out, paying attention to the Mii's placement in every immunity. "Even if we save him this time, we can't afford to bring him far."
"It's frustrating that both of them are threats. If this was Dee against Sonic we wouldn't even need to think." Li Mei grumbles, but Kabal, for once, shows off what realism he has. "Both of them are always gonna be a problem till they're done. At least we can cut one out."
"…"
"..god I sound like Sonic. 'At LeAsT We HaVe tHiS.." his sass gets a chuckle from Li Mei. "There is No shame in that. I just hope you're right about this."
"I've survived this long with a target on my back. Don't hope. Believe in me."
Kabal: Tonight, this issue ends. Thank the elder gods for it because I'm so tired of having to hear the SAME thing night after night after night. After we dethrone a king in the game, his throne is mine for the taking.
Tribal Council
Night 35
The seven castaways enter to seven stumps, a fire pit in front of it, and Jeff Probst standing there with his hands behind his back. They light their torches.
"In this game, fire represents your life. When it's gone, so are you.."
They take a seat, and look at the empty jury bench across from them. "Before we begin, please welcome the members of the jury. Tremor.." the clans enforcer enters, with a blank look on his face.
"Little Mac…" the boxer enters in a black tank top with green shorts.
"Kano…" The villain enters, with a black t shirt on.
"Luigi…" the Mario brother enters with a green t-shirt and shorts on. Tennis much?
"And the latest member of our jury, Blu." The Yoshi enters, with a frown on her face. Kabal makes eye contact, and she just shakes her head. Blu's definitely the type to take betrayal personally.
Once all are seated, Tribal Council's set to begin.
"Alright. Coming into the merge, we had eleven. Now we're down to basically half. Gordon, is there anything to take away from that?" Jeff asks.
"I've p*ssed in everyone's cereal."
All eyes are on the chef once again. Kano's snickering at the bench. "Atta boy."
"Why are you all looking at me like I'm a zoo animal? I just said the truth. Ever since we hit the top ten it's like 'oh f*ck that Gordon, he doesn't need to be here.' I need to win immunity just to get to the end, and you saw today I can't do that for sh*t!" He's just letting it ALL out.
"It's all about the jury dude." Matt responds. "Let's be for real: it's either me or you, and if you skate to the end after all you've been through, you've got half of 'em already."
"What about you? You're friendly with everyone, ran this game until the final seven, and can go on a winning streak. It doesn't matter how p*ss poor you think you are, if you can win rewards, you can win the necklace." Gordon's trying to bury Matt's chances, but the Mii has more in store.
"You say you can't win, but you've still got more time with that necklace than I ever had. You probably got more votes on the jury than I do. If me and Sonic are goliaths, you're a David with the best chance at beating us STILL." Matt snaps back, with an interesting move to boost the chef's threat level then and there.
"Doesn't mean I WILL mate. You and that hedgehog are the underdogs now, if one of you gets to the end, not even I can stop you." Does he actually believe that?
"I can say the same for you." Matt's standing his ground.
On the jury bench, Tremor and Kano have a small discussions.
"We've gotten a bloodbath. How much do you put on our boy flipping again?" Kano states.
"Thirty. If he's actually able to resist it knowing our nature, then it is a miracle." Tremor replies, digging into his ally a bit.
"I'll pay you a couple lobsters if he doesn't."
Back to the players left, and those two are still going back and forth.
"We're both threats, Matty. I'll just leave it at that."
"Oh no you called me 'Matty,' I'm so betrayed."
"I'm just done saying the same thing. At this point, let's just go vote."
.
.
.
.
"Why are you so mad?" Sonic says, and Gordon snaps his head at him. The hedgehog pushes peoples buttons sometimes, but this may be a mistake. "If you wanted to vote just say so."
"Now's NOT the time for this! Do you want me to start calling YOU out too?"
"I've got the necklace, you can do whatever you want man." The chef turns around and faces Jeff. "I'd love to vote, but Sonic loves trolling me."
"Pardon me for trying to lighten our moods." That reply names chef's face goes red. "JUST…save it for later. It's a tense situation, treat it like one."
"Wow…no fun."
Little Mac chuckles, as Gordon uses all his might to not lash out then and there.
"If Matt, Gordon, and..I guess Sonic hav said their parts. Kabal. Mei. They've been vying for your votes ever since Kano left the game. Has anything changed at all?" Jeff asks.
"Shhh, no spoilers." Kabal responds, and Li Mei's like a stonewall. "They will know when they know."
"That's sketchy." Sonic comments, but Matt turns to him. "Simmer down."
With no direct answers from the duo deciding, Jeff gets on with the vote. "It IS time to vote. Matt, you're up first."
The Mii heads to the voting booth.
Matt: Round two. Let's begin. (Gordon)
Gordon: I'd love a break, but I can't get that until you're gone. (Matt)
After the votes are cast, the castaways get seated yet again, awaiting the vote count. They know what's coming next. "I'll tally the votes." Jeff says, leaving the castaways behind to retrieve the voting urn.
The Mii and chef watch. One threat is about to end their deep run. Jeff returns to his podium with the urn. "If anyone has a hidden immunity idol or advantage they'd like to play..NOW would be the time to do so."
.
.
.
.
Nobody steps up to the plate.
"Alright, I'll read the votes…" Jeff removes the lid, grabs the parchment, and orders it up. "First vote.."
.
.
"Gordon."
.
.
"Matt."
.
.
"Gordon."
.
.
"Matt. That's two votes Gordon, two votes Matt, two votes left."
Dee consoles Gordon. "You ok?"
"Just peachy."
Sonic whispers to Matt. "I think it's you."
"Let's see."
Jeff flips over the fifth vote, but doesn't read who it is. "The thirteenth person voted out, and the sixth member of our jury."
.
.
"Matt. Bring me your torch."
The Mii accepts his fate, grabbing his torch without a fit.
"Sorry about it man." Sonic says, and Matt keeps a straight face on. "It's cool. I saw it coming." As he approaches Jeff, a few talks go on at the jury bench.
Mac turns to Luigi. "They got our vendetta."
Kano turns to Tremor. "When do you want it by?"
Back to Matt, he sets his torch down infront of Jeff, ready to take him out.
"Matt, after five long weeks…"
He raises his snuffer.
"The tribe has spoken."
SNUFF…
"Time for you to go."
The Mii smiles and turns to the final five. "You're coming up on the end. Do whatever it takes to win."
"We'll miss you." Sonic says.
"I'll miss y'all too. I'm out."
The Mii leaves the Tribal Council area as everyone looks on. One threats down, there's two more to go. Once Matt's out of view, Jeff turns to the remaining castaways with some final words. "After tonight, it's time for some new talking points. Especially since we're now five weeks into this game. Head back to camp, good night."
The remaining five take their torches and leave the Tribal area for the night. There's only three vote-offs left in the season. Who will come out on top? And who will fall just short?
Matt's Final Words
Matt: I can't blame her for ditching us. Dee and Gordon are threats, but they don't win challenges, we do. It was a fun five weeks, and I'm leaving with my head held high. Coming short all the time sucks, but it's not about winning and losing, it's about winning and learning. If they let me back, I'm coming back better. The jury probably wants a big threat to win, so if Sonic or Gordon win, I'll be satisfied.
