Dear Readers,

Once again, I apologize for dropping off the face of the earth & leaving you in the dust for three months. Once again, it's due to me enjoying life as much as I can, mental health, writer's block & extreme that said, time to recap our last chapter...Kara, Karen, Barbara, Diana & Zee grew bored as they served their Saturday detention on account of Kara laughing during Vice Principal VeDito's lecture on the American revolution. Jessica, on the other hand, was still very distraught over receiving five extra Saturday detentions over asking Vice Principal VeDito to forgive Kara. The girls were especially not looking forward to eating coleslaw for lunch. So they all agreed to ordering from Pizza Hut. Unfortunately, Jessica was too upset to be on the same boat as her friends. Thus Kara & Babs picked the opportunity to taunt the emotionally distraught fashionista over...Until Diana stood up to them & more drama was about to ensue when VP VeDito returned to the library to see what was the matter. Diana foolishly tells VeDito that she & her friends want to have Pizza Hut for lunch instead of coleslaw. Predictably, VeDito did not take that suggestion well at all & threatened to give the girls lumpy potatoes instead of coleslaw if they give him anymore trouble. Despite VeDito's warning, Kara orders for the whole posse from Pizza Hut, using her uncle's credit card that may have fallen out of his luggage. It's absolutely lucky for the girls that Tatsu Yamashiro works at Pizza Hut every Saturday & she's willing to save her friends from being forced to eat coleslaw. At this rate, it's gonna take me another three months to complete the fourth & final chapter. But I digress, now for the third chapter of our story.

Signed, The Author

Chapter 3: The Saturday Lunch That Almost Wasn't

At a luxury hotel...

(A green family van with a pile of luggage tied down on its roof pulls up to the main hotel entrance. Out steps a family of four accompanied by their butler before they get all their luggage down as the butler retrieves a luggage cart for them to load their bags upon. The family & butler enter the hotel lobby as the valet attendant parks their van.)

(The patriarch of this family is an obese man named Phillip Chapin, who happens to be the principal of Metropolis High by day & successful attorney by night. Phillip Chapin sports a pair of rectangular seeing eye-glasses & a raven colored executive contour on his head, while wearing a white buttoned business shirt, a black tie around his neck, a long pair of black khaki pants & a pair of Joseph Abboud Moc Toe Dress Loafers.)

(The matriarch is a slender woman named Vivian Chapin, who happens to be a renowned teacher of Metropolis High. Vivian Chapin also sports a pair of rectangular seeing eye-glasses & a Brunnette sixties styled bouffant, while wearing a cut-off blouse, a pair of culottes & a pair of sneakers.)

(The son is named Cody Chapin, who is seven years old. Cody Chapin, like his parents, sports a pair of rectangular seeing eye-glasses & a blonde haircut similar to an eponymous boy from a certain Disney movie released in 1990, while wearing a red sleeved shirt, a pair of brown shorts & a pair of brown hiking boots.)

(The daughter is named Penny Chapin, who is six years old. Penny Chapin sports a pair of blonde pig-tails with candy blue hairbands, while wearing a white polo shirt, a candy blue overall dress, a pair of dark blue tights & a pair of black Mary-Janes.)

(The family butler is named Gregory, who sports a natural orange gentleman's haircut, moustache & a goatee, while wearing a black suit, a white long-sleeved business shirt, a grey vest, a black tie, a black pair of khaki pants & a pair of black dress shoes.)

(Phillip Chapin approaches the lobby desk to get a key for their room from a hotel clerk.)

Mr. Chapin: (To the hotel clerk) Hello, sir. My family, our butler & I are looking to stay in a room on the first floor, preferably one that's close to the restaurant.

Hotel Clerk: I think we can accommodate you, sir. Will that be cash or charge?

Mr. Chapin: (Pulling out his wallet) Charge please.

(Phillip is about to take out his credit card, but to his surprise...It is not there. Little does he know that Kara Danvers, his niece, has it in her possession on account of it falling out of his luggage. He continues to frantically search his wallet for his credit card for several seconds. Unfortunately, he still can't find it.)

Mr. Chapin: (Angrily throwing his wallet on the counter) DAMN IT! Where the hell is my CREDIT CARD?!

(Phillip soon grows more irate & begins to shake his wallet furiously.)

Mr. Chapin: (Growing desperate) GOD DAMN IT! I've planned this family outing all week! We barely have enough cash to get home!

Gregory: (Addressing one of the suitcases that may be overstuffed) Sir Phillip. Did you or did you not happen to misplace your credit card in an already overstuffed suitcase? Especially since its overstuffed up to the point of one of your valuables, let alone your credit card, falling out?

Mr. Chapin: (Barely able to contain his anger) Are saying that I foolishly stuffed my credit card into one of my suitcases & fell out as we were exiting our mansion?!

Mrs. Chapin: Honey, can I interject? Maybe our niece picked up your credit card before heading off to serve her Saturday detention & kept it for safe keeping.

(Upon hearing this & realizing what happened, the obese lawyer boils red & is filled with deep & terrible rage.)

Mr. Chapin: (At the top of his lungs) RRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!

Hotel clerk: (Sternly to Phillip) Sir, I'll have to ask you, your butler & family to leave.

(With their outing ruined by Kara, the Chapins & Gregory take their luggage, exit the hotel lobby, trot back to their van, which has been conveniently parked near the hotel entrance, tie their bag back on top of its roof & drive all the way back to Metropolis High. Phillip is more than ready to have several stern words with his niece.)

Penny: (To Cody about their cousin) Kara is in deep sugar honey iced tea when she comes home from her Saturday detention. You know what I'm saying?

(Cody could only nod in agreement.)

Back at Metropolis High...

(It's one & a half minutes before lunch time & Tatsu Yamashiro uses her stealth to deliver the orders of her friends without being detected by Vice Principal Frankie VeDito, who's patrolling the schools' halls. Luckily, Tatsu manages to keep a safe distance & out of Frankie's sight before stuffing her friends' orders in Kara's locker.)

Tatsu Yamashiro: (Successful at saving her six friends from having to eat coleslaw for lunch) Your lunch has been saved, friends.

(Upon completing her mission, Tatsu stealthily checks out of Metropolis High & back to Pizza Hut as soon as Kara, Barbara, Karen, Diana, Jessica & Zee quietly sneak out of the library as they follow the smell of pizza delivery, which comes from Kara's locker.)

Karen Beecher: So, Kara. How do you know which way VeDito went?

Kara Danvers: I don't.

Zee Zatara: How do you know when he'll return to give us coleslaw?

Kara Danvers: I don't.

Jessica Cruz: How do you know where he even is at the moment?

Kara Danvers: I don't.

(The girls approach Kara's locker. Kara opens it to find their ideal lunch for a Saturday detention, which is firmly stuffed inside. Of course, Kara had no trouble pulling it all out & presenting what happens to be an insulated 22 by 22 by 8 inch Pizza Hut delivery bag along with a plastic Pizza Hut bag with two different 2 liter soft drinks much to the amazement of her friends & the confusion of Diana.)

Kara Danvers: (Closing her locker with her foot) Ladies! I give you our perfect Saturday detention lunch! You're all welcome!

Barbara Gordon: (As Kara leads the direction out of VeDito's path) Tatsu has really pulled through for us.

Diana Prince: (Baffled at what was in Kara's locker) Pizza Hut...Pepsi...Mountain Dew...Kara has...Pizza Hut...Pepsi...And Mountain Dew...Does anybody else approve of this?

(At this time Barbara, Zee, Jessica & Karen have already began to follow Kara's lead before Diana brings up the rear.)

Kara Danvers: (To her friends as she leads them) Listen up, girls! We're gonna cross through the lab & double back to the library.

Karen Beecher: (Feeling a bit uneasy) You'd better know where you're going, Kara. If VeDito catches us, we can kiss our lunch goodbye & it'll be all your fault.

(The girls leisurely stroll down the hallway when they stop & see Vice Principal Frankie VeDito on patrol from a safe distance. Not wanting to be caught by him, the girls instantly hotfoot it. However, VeDito turns left & the girls run back the way they came. They run further down a different path only to spot VeDito again. So they instantly turn around. In fact, every time the girls run a different path, VeDito is already there & it gets harder & harder to avoid him. This goes on & on & on until the girls reach a dead end.)

Karen Beecher: (Upon seeing the dead end) Now now what?

Diana Prince: (Stating the obvious) It appears we have reached a dead end.

Karen Beecher: (To Diana) You think? Great work, detective.

Zee Zatara: (Anticipating getting caught & denied Pizza Hut) Way to go, Kara! You just HAD to get us Pizza Hut!

Barbara Gordon: (Scared out of her mind) VeDito's going to find us & we'll be forced to eat either coleslaw or lumpy potatoes...We're so doomed.

Jessica Cruz: (Knowing she'll get more Saturday detentions) Todo ha terminado para nosotras.

Kara Danvers: (Getting an idea to save her friends & their lunch) No...Just me.

Karen Beecher: What do you mean?

Kara Danvers: (Handing the pizzas & soft dinks to Karen) You girls get back to the library. I'm going to distract VeDito.

(With that, Kara starts running & ripping off posters as the girls waste no time in finding their way back to the library.)

Kara Danvers: (Singing loudly off key) You must be my lucky star
'Cause you shine on me
Wherever you are
I just think of you
And I start to glow
And I need your light
And baby you know

Starlight, star bright
First star I see tonight
Starlight, star bright
Make everything alright
Starlight, star bright
First star I see tonight
Starlight, star bright, yeah!

You must be my lucky star
'Cause you make the darkness seem so far
And when I'm lost
You'll be my guide
I just turn around
And you're by my side

Starlight, star bright
First star I see tonight
Starlight, star bright
Make everything alright
Starlight, star bright
First star I see tonight
Starlight, star bright, yeah!

C'mon, shine your heavenly body tonight
'Cause I know you're gonna make everything alright
Um, c'mon, shine your heavenly body tonight

(Kara suddenly bumps into Vice Principal Frankie VeDito, who is smirking smugly at catching her in the halls.)

VP VeDito: (To Kara) Ohohohoho! I'm gonna shine my heavenly body tonight, alright...I'm gonna shine it REAL good & in fact...I'm gonna shine it all over you in place you never knew you even had!

To be continued...
