Quick author note to AvalorianJaquin before we begin:
If you are curious as to whether or not "The Romance of Silver Willow'' is canon or not, whether or not this spin-off story takes place in a main universe or separate universe, the answer is yes to the first two questions. This story is indeed canon within the Magical World Series. As I mentioned before in the first chapter, the events of "The Romance of Silver Willow" take place about three years after the events of "The Dream Keeper Chronicles" by TheDragonKeeper. So, you can rest assured that Silver's story is a canon part of the main Magical World Series timeline and universe.
Anyway, let's begin the chapter, enjoy!
"Have you ever used a sword before?"
Silver paused his watercolor painting.
Several days had passed since the two had reunited, and at present, they were leisurely relaxing in the backyard of Willow's home. They had laid out a cozy blanket beneath the shade of a tree and had prepared a simple spread of food, reminiscent of a picnic. Anthony and Buster were engaged in a game of fetch, with Anthony repeatedly throwing a ball for the dog to retrieve and return. The atmosphere was calm and carefree, with both individuals enjoying each other's company in the idyllic setting.
"What?" Silver looked at him with a look of confusion on his face.
"Have you ever used a sword before?" Anthony repeated, throwing a ball again to Buster.
"Well, swords aren't something I've had much experience with," Silver admitted. "I've always been more inclined towards the arts and creativity. But I have to say, the way you handle a sword with such skill and grace is truly impressive. Why do you ask?"
Anthony smiled, appreciating the charming honesty in Silver's response. "Oh, it's nothing serious. I was just wondering if you've ever tried wielding a sword given your magical abilities. I've seen the wonders you can create with your magic paintbrush, so I thought you might have experimented with other tools as well."
Silver chuckled softly. "I guess I never felt the need to try a sword when my paintbrush serves me so well. It's my most cherished possession, and it holds so many memories and helps me fight alongside my friends." He said before continuing back with his watercolor painting. "Yen Sid has gifted me this magic paintbrush and I took a few lessons with him to help me learn how to use it properly."
"So you never once learn how to use a weapon without your magic paintbrush?" Anthony asks him again.
This raises Silver's eyebrows. "What do you mean by that?"
Anthony paused for a moment, considering his words carefully before responding. "Silver, I understand the power and significance of your magic paintbrush, but it's also important to be prepared for situations where you might not have it at hand. As someone who's had to train to face any dangerous situations in my future role as the captain of the Disney Guard and being the Prince's Protege, I've learned the value of being skilled in different forms of combat."
He scooted beside Silver, setting aside the ball and giving his full attention to the conversation. "I'm not suggesting that you abandon your paintbrush or change who you are. Your artistry is a beautiful part of you. However, knowing how to defend yourself or your friends in times of danger is a valuable skill. It's about being able to protect what you hold dear."
Silver looked at Anthony, gratefulness. "I understand your point, Anthony. And I appreciate your concern." Silver tilted his head to the side, considering the idea further. "I've seen how skilled you are with a sword, Anthony. Maybe you could teach me a few moves sometime? It could be a fun and challenging experience for both of us. And who knows, it might come in handy one day."
Anthony's face lit up with a smile. "I would be honored to teach you, Silver. It would be a great opportunity together. We'll start with the basics and gradually progress and begin your training tomorrow. Just remember, it's not only about strength but also about finesse and precision. With your natural talent and creativity, I have no doubt you'll pick it up quickly."
Silver smiled at him. "I hope I won't regret this."
He regretted this.
The next day, Silver found himself standing in the garden grounds of the King's Castle, holding a sword in his hand. Anthony stood beside him, clad in his white loose fitting shirt with a collar and featuring long slightly bishop sleeves with regular cuffs each with a single white button. A crimson red waistcoat is worn on top of his shirt with a pair of dark red trousers that are the shirt tucked inside of his pair of black boots.
Silver is dressed in a lightweight, fitted white linen shirt with a high collar and short bishop sleeves featuring very long sleeves, fastened with small silver buttons at the cuffs. Over his shirt, he wore a sky blue waistcoat and his midnight blue trousers were made of sturdy black leather, which would allow him to move freely during his sword fighting lesson. They were tucked into a pair of knee-high black leather boots, which had a slightly rounded toe and a small heel for added grip. Lastly, his curls were pulled into a ponytail with a ribbon that matched the color of his trouser and his black square frame glasses.
Anthony put on a mischievous grin while Silver gulped in fear.
With that, Anthony tossed a sword towards Silver, who managed to catch it clumsily. Silver tried to mimic Anthony's confident stance, but his grip on the sword was awkward and unsure. Anthony couldn't suppress a chuckle at the sight.
"Now, now, don't look so nervous," Anthony said with a wink. "It's just a sword, not a fire-breathing dragon. You're an artist, Silver. Think of it as wielding a brush, just with a bit more flair."
"Flair is not the word I'd use to describe my sword-wielding skills," Silver muttered, attempting to mimic Anthony's sword-swinging motion. The result was more akin to a clumsy dance move than a deadly strike.
Anthony's grin widened, enjoying the playful teasing. "Come on now, Silver. You've faced that black cube guy, battled villains, and created incredible things with that magic paintbrush of yours. A little swordplay is nothing compared to that!" He winked, trying to ease Silver's nerves.
Anthony walked over to Silver and stood behind him. He placed a hand gently on Silver's hip to help him get into a better position, causing a blush to creep up on Silver's face. Leaning in, Anthony whispered into his ear, his voice soft and reassuring. "Don't worry, Silver. I'll be right here with you, guiding you every step of the way. Trust me, you'll be a natural."
Silver took a deep breath, feeling a surge of confidence from Anthony's words. He nodded and focused on the task at hand.
"Now, let's start with the basic guards," Anthony instructed before walking back to his spot. "We'll go through them slowly at first, so you get the hang of it."
He raised his sword, assuming the prime position with his arm extended diagonally upward. Silver watched closely, mimicking Anthony's movements as best he could.
"Prime!" Anthony called out, and Silver mirrored the position, trying to hold the sword steady.
"Seconde!" Anthony continued, moving his sword to a slightly lower position. Silver followed suit, feeling the weight of the sword in his hand.
"Tierce!" Anthony instructed, shifting his sword to a lower position on the opposite side. Silver adjusted his stance, his muscles tensing with concentration.
"Quarte!" Anthony commanded, moving his sword diagonally downward. Silver copied the movement, his arms feeling the strain.
"Quinte!" Anthony called out, raising his sword to a higher diagonal position. Silver did the same, his focus intensifying.
"Sixte!" Anthony finished, shifting his sword back to the starting position. Silver mirrored the movement, his brow furrowing in concentration but also wobbled a little bit and tried to balance his body and legs.
Anthony started to circle around him, watching closely and offering occasional guidance. "People know you as The Defender of Love, with your magic paintbrush, animals helping you, playing dress up and dancing the night away at the ball." He spoke. "People, including everyone you know, your family and friends still think that."
He then continued on. "But today, you will transform into a new, different person that no one has ever seen before, and you will leave them completely speechless," Anthony encouraged, his voice firm yet supportive before walking back again to his spot.
Silver took a deep breath, feeling the weight of the sword in his hand. He knew this wouldn't be easy, but he was determined to give it his all. Today, he would not only be The Defender of Love with his magic paintbrush, but also a student of the sword, learning the art of combat.
"Prime! Seconde! Tierce!" Anthony called out as they went through the basic guards again. Silver followed his lead, trying to focus on his stance and movements. It was challenging, but with each repetition, he felt himself becoming more familiar with the sword's weight and balance.
"Quarte! Quinte! Sixte!" They continued the sequence, and Silver did his best to keep up. His muscles were starting to ache from the repeated movements, but he pushed through, determined not to give up.
"You will learn how to master swordsmanship and all the important skills you will need to use in any dangerous situation you encounter and face," Anthony reassured him, his confidence in Silver's abilities unwavering.
They started again, going through the guards with forward and backward steps. "Forward! Back! Forward! Back! Forward!" Silver focused on the rhythm of the footwork, trying to coordinate it with the sword movements. It was a lot to take in, but he was eager to learn.
"Again!" Anthony said, and they repeated the sequence three times. Silver could feel himself improving, even if only slightly. He knew it would take time and practice, but he was determined to become proficient with the sword.
As the training session continued, Silver's initial nervousness began to give way to a sense of excitement. Anthony's patient guidance and encouragement spurred him on. Despite the occasional missteps and wobbles, Silver kept trying, determined to make progress.
With each repetition, Silver's movements became more fluid, and he gained a sense of control over the sword. Anthony smiled as he saw the improvement, proud of his boyfriend's dedication and willingness to step out of his comfort zone.
"Alright, Silver, let's see how you handle a little friendly sparring," Anthony said, holding his sword in a ready position. He gestured for Silver to do the same. "Remember what I taught you, focus on your guards and footwork. Show me your best move."
Silver took a deep breath, focusing his energy. With a determined expression, he lunged forward, aiming for Anthony's side. But in his haste, he misjudged his step and ended up tripping over his own feet. The momentum sent him tumbling to the ground in an undignified manner, causing Anthony to burst into laughter.
Silver blushed, a mix of embarrassment and amusement crossing his face. He quickly got back up, brushing off the dirt from his clothes. "Well, that didn't go as planned," he admitted sheepishly.
Anthony sheathed his sword, still chuckling. "No worries, Silver. It happens to the best of us. Remember, learning is about making mistakes and getting back up again." He extended a hand to help Silver up, a playful glint in his eyes. "But just so you know, falling in battle is a surefire way to get your opponent to laugh."
Silver accepted Anthony's hand, letting out a small laugh himself. "I'll keep that in mind. Now, let's try that move again, without the falling part, hopefully."
They start over the training after Silver's failed movement. Silver raised his sword, trying to steady his trembling hands. Anthony lunged forward, swinging his sword in a controlled motion. Silver managed to parry the attack, though his movements were still a bit clumsy.
They circled each other, swords clashing in a flurry of quick strikes and blocks. Anthony demonstrated his expertise, skillfully maneuvering around Silver's defenses. Despite his best efforts, Silver found himself on the defensive, struggling to keep up with Anthony's speed and precision.
"Stay focused, Silver! Don't let your guard down!" Anthony encouraged with energy.
Silver's determination flared within him as he tried to match Anthony's movements. He concentrated on the guards and footwork, striving to find his rhythm. With each clash of their swords, Silver's confidence grew.
But just as he was starting to get the hang of it, Anthony swiftly disarmed Silver with a deft strike. The sword flew out of Silver's hand and landed with a splash in the nearby water fountain.
"Oops," Silver exclaimed, his face reddening in embarrassment. He looked down at his swordless hand, then at the water fountain, which now housed his weapon.
Anthony couldn't help but burst into laughter, finding the situation amusing. "Well, it seems you've found a creative way to cool your sword off, Silver. I didn't know sword fighting came with a water feature."
Silver chuckled sheepishly, shaking his head. "I guess I need to work on my focus a little more."
Anthony retrieved Silver's sword from the fountain, giving it a quick shake to get rid of the excess water. He handed it back to Silver with a grin. "Let's dry this off and get back to it. Remember, mistakes happen. The important thing is to learn from them and keep going."
"Right!" Silver nodded, He wiped his wet hand on his trousers, taking a moment to compose himself. Then, with a determined look in his eyes, he once again raised his sword, ready to resume their sparring session.
They continued their training, Silver gradually regaining his focus and composure. He learned from each strike and block, adjusting his stance and movements. Anthony played the role of a skilled opponent, challenging Silver to think on his feet and react quickly.
As they dueled, their swords clashing with a metallic ring, laughter and playful banter filled the air. Silver's movements became more fluid and confident, displaying the progress he had made during their training. He grew bolder, launching his own attacks and countering Anthony's moves with newfound finesse.
At one point, Anthony feigned a powerful strike, causing Silver to instinctively leap backward to avoid it. Unbeknownst to Silver, he had misjudged his step, and instead of landing on solid ground, he stumbled right into the water fountain again.
This time, Silver didn't just dip his hand in the water. He fell headfirst into the fountain, his clothes drenched and his hair sticking to his face. Anthony burst into laughter once more, unable to contain himself.
"S-silver!" Anthony managed to say between fits of laughter. "I didn't know you wanted to go swimming on the fountain."
Silver emerged from the water, his cheeks flushed with embarrassment and his clothes dripping wet. He sputtered, trying to regain his composure. "I... uh... I think I got a bit carried away with my footwork."
Anthony stepped forward, extending a hand to help Silver out of the fountain. "Come on, let's get you dried off. That was quite the water show you put on."
Silver took Anthony's hand, allowing himself to be pulled out of the fountain. Water dripped from his clothes as he stood beside Anthony, both of them chuckling at the unexpected turn of events.
"Well," Silver said, wringing out his wet hair before taking out his magic paintbrush to quickly dry himself out, "I guess I still have a lot to learn about sword fighting and staying dry."
Anthony grinned, playfully nudging Silver's shoulder. "Don't worry, Silver. Rome wasn't built in a day, and sword fighting skills aren't mastered in a single lesson. You're doing great, and a little water won't dampen your spirits."
Silver grinned back. "I want to keep going. I want to learn how to wield a sword, not just for myself, but also for my friends and those I care about."
Anthony placed a hand on Silver's shoulder, his expression earnest. "I believe in you, Silver. You're already a powerful and talented artist. Adding swordsmanship to your skills will only make you even more formidable."
Silver's heart swelled with gratitude for Anthony's unwavering support. With renewed determination, he stepped back into position, holding the sword with a firmer grip.
"Alright, let's continue," Silver said, his voice steady. "I want to learn more."
They resumed their training, going through various drills and techniques. Anthony taught Silver about different strikes, blocks, and parries, patiently guiding him through each move. Silver's progress was evident, and his confidence grew with every successful execution.
Throughout the training the progress and time went by, the sun began to set, casting a warm, golden glow over the garden, they decided to take a break from the rigorous training. They settled under the shade of a nearby tree, catching their breath and sharing a laugh.
"You're doing fantastic, Silver," Anthony praised, handing him a water bottle. "I'm impressed with how quickly you're picking this up. You have a natural talent for this."
Silver took a sip of water, feeling the fatigue in his muscles, but also a sense of accomplishment. "Thank you, Anthony. Your guidance and patience have been invaluable."
Anthony smiled warmly. "It's my pleasure. I enjoy sharing what I know, especially with someone as dedicated as you."
They sat in comfortable silence for a moment, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of the garden. The sun dipped lower on the horizon, casting long shadows over the grounds.
Anthony glanced at Silver, a playful glint in his eyes. "So, what do you say you want to have a duel challenge tomorrow?" He asked. "Not here at the garden but rather at the Royal Guard Station in front of everyone?"
Silver looked at Anthony, his eyes widening in surprise and shock. "A duel challenge!?" He gasped. "In… in front of everyone at the Guard Station? A-Are you sure?"
Anthony grinned mischievously. "Absolutely! It'll be a friendly sparring match, nothing too serious. Just a chance for you to showcase your newfound sword skills and for us to have some fun. Plus, I think the others would love to see the Defender of Love in action with a sword rather than the magic paintbrush."
Silver hesitated for a moment, considering the idea. The thought of facing off against Anthony in front of their friends and fellow royal guards was both thrilling and nerve-wracking. But he could also see the excitement in Anthony's eyes, and he knew this was an opportunity to challenge himself and grow even further.
"Alright," Silver said, his determination returning. "I'll do it. But only if you promise not to go easy on me."
Anthony chuckled, a glint of excitement in his eyes. "Deal! I won't hold back, Silver. But don't worry, I'll be right there with you every step of the way, just like today's training."
The next day, as the sun rose over the Kingdom, Silver and Anthony stood at the Guard Station, surrounded by their friends and fellow royal guards. The atmosphere was charged with anticipation and curiosity, everyone eager to see the much-talked-about duel between the Defender of Love and the Captain of the Disney Guard.
Cinderella and the Prince, along with the Disney Princesses and Princess, sat inside the royal box with a blue and white patterned cover above them to provide shade to protect them from the sun.
Even Silver and Anthony's family attended the match as well in the same royal box with the other Disney royals.
Once the Disney Princesses and Princes settled into their seats in the royal box, they couldn't help but chat excitedly about the upcoming match between Silver and Anthony.
Ariel leaned over to Belle and asked, "Do you think Silver has a chance against Anthony? He's always been so skilled with his paintbrush, but sword fighting is a whole different ballgame."
Belle smiled at her. "It's hard to say, Ariel. But I believe in Silver's determination. He's shown incredible creativity and courage in the past ever since he became a member of the Dream Defenders. Who knows what surprises he might have up his sleeve."
Snow White chimed from behind. "I'm sure they'll both put on an impressive show! It's not every day we get to see the Defender of Love wield a sword. I can't wait!"
Cinderella, sitting beside Prince Charming, smiled warmly at the battlefield that was about to take place. "Anthony sure has come a long way since he joined the Royal Guard. You must be proud of how far he's come as your protege. And I'm sure he'll be a formidable opponent for Silver."
Prince Charming nodded in agreement. "I am proud of him. Anthony's training and dedication are commendable. It'll be an interesting match, that's for sure."
Meanwhile, Mulan shared her insights with the other princesses of the group. "Sword fighting requires discipline, focus, and quick reflexes. Silver's artistic abilities might give him an advantage in terms of creativity and adaptability. I believe it'll be an exciting and unpredictable duel."
Anna nodded while eating a box of chocolate that she brought with her. "As someone that once held a sword before but never touched it again. I can't wait to see how it unfolds. Does anyone want some chocolate?" She eyes around everyone in the royal box with a chocolates box in hand.
Silver's parents, Roberto and Paula Willow, found themselves in a conversation with Anthony's parents, Duke Edward and Duchess Vivian Draventon. They stood together, observing the battlefield where their sons would soon face off while surrounded by their children.
Roberto turned to Duke Edward, extending a hand. "Edward, it's a pleasure to see you again. Quite an eventful day we have ahead of us, wouldn't you say?"
Duke Edward shook Roberto's hand with a polite nod. "Yes, Roberto. I must admit, I never expected to witness a sword duel involving our sons. It's quite the spectacle."
Paula, joined the conversation. She looked at Duchess Vivian, her eyes filled with warmth. "Duchess Vivian, it's wonderful to see you… again. I hope you've been enjoying the duel tournament like the rest of us."
Duchess Vivian greeted Paula with a cordial smile. "Hmmm. Likewise, Paula. The event has been quite entertaining thus far. I'm sure the duel between our sons will be the highlight of our day."
Roberto, sensing a slightly chilly atmosphere, tried to break the tension with a light-hearted comment. "Well, I must say, Edward, your son certainly knows how to handle a sword. I hope Silver doesn't end up embarrassing himself in front of such a large crowd."
Duke Edward's smile faltered for a moment, and a glint of concern flickered in his eyes. He quickly regained his composure, maintaining his aristocratic poise. "I'm sure your son Silver will give his best effort, Roberto. However, Anthony has received extensive training and has proven himself to be a skilled swordsman. It will be an interesting match, to say the least."
Paula chimed in. "Oh, I have no doubt that Silver will give Anthony a run for his money. He's always had a creative and resourceful spirit. You'd be surprised at the surprises he can come up with."
Duchess Vivian's smile turned slightly cold, but she masked it quickly. "I'm sure Silver's artistic abilities will make the duel quite unique." She chuckled. "It will be interesting to see how he fares against Anthony's well-honed techniques."
Roberto glanced between the two mothers, sensing the subtle tension in the air since the dinner incident. "Well, let's hope for a fair and exciting match. Our boys have grown close, and I'm sure they'll give us all a thrilling show."
Duke Edward nodded, his expression regaining its composure. "Let the best man win."
The staff made the final preparations, crafting the royal trumpets fanfare with precision, the Grand Duke stepped forward to address the gathered crowd. He cleared his throat, capturing everyone's attention.
"Ladies and gentlemen, and honored guests," the Grand Duke began, his voice echoing through the courtyard. "Today, we are gathered here to witness a friendly sparring match between two remarkable individuals, each showcasing their unique talents in the art of combat."
The crowd murmured with anticipation, their eyes fixed on the battlefield where Silver and Anthony stood from the opposite side of the two open entrances, swords in hand.
The Grand Duke continued, "On the right side, we have Lord Anthony Draventon, the future Captain of the Disney Guard and the Prince's Protege. A skilled swordsman, renowned for his dedication and prowess in protecting the Magical Realm."
Applause erupted from the crowd as Anthony wore his Captain's uniform and step inside the battlefield and bowed gracefully to everyone around him, acknowledging the honor bestowed upon him.
"And on the other side, we have Mister Silver Willow, also known as the Defender of Love," the Grand Duke declared. "An artist of unparalleled talent, whose magic paintbrush has brought beauty and joy to our Kingdom. Today, we shall witness his journey into the realm of swordsmanship."
Cheers and applause rang out for Silver as he stepped forward, taking a deep breath to calm his nerves.
Silver's battle outfit consists of a tailored navy blue double-breasted jacket with gold buttons, and epaulets on the shoulders. The jacket is adorned with intricate gold embroidery, adding a touch of royalty to the military-inspired design. Underneath the jacket is a crisp white button-up shirt with a high collar and a slim-fit silhouette. The shirt is tucked into a pair of fitted white pants with a subtle sheen, and navy blue vest.
The look is completed with a pair of black leather boots that reach just below the knee. Accessorizing the outfit are gold circle cufflinks, white short gloves, white sash going from his right shoulder to his left waist side with a bow, his black glasses and his curly hair was done in a lower ponytail with a navy blue ribbon tied in the back with a bow and two split bangs.
The applause grew louder once the Grand Duke finished introducing them. Silver and Anthony exchanged a quick glance and a nod, each acknowledging the respect and admiration they held for the other as they stood just about ten feet away from each other.
"Alright, gentlemen, the rules are simple," The Grand Duke looked at them. "This is a friendly match, so no need to hold back, but no serious injuries please, understood?"
Both Silver and Anthony nodded, and the Grand Duke gave them the signal to begin.
The duel began with a burst of energy and intensity. Silver and Anthony circled each other, their eyes locked in a focused gaze. The crowd held its breath, eagerly awaiting the clash between the Defender of Love and the future Captain of the Disney Guard.
Anthony made the first move, lunging forward with a swift strike. Silver swiftly dodged the attack, his agility and reflexes coming into play. He countered with a series of calculated strikes, his movements displaying a blend of grace and creativity.
The clash of their swords filled the air, each strike met with an equal force. Silver's artistic instincts guided his movements, allowing him to anticipate Anthony's attacks and counter them with unexpected maneuvers.
Anthony, impressed by Silver's adaptability, pushed forward with a flurry of strikes, testing Silver's defenses. Silver deftly parried each blow, his movements fluid and precise.
The crowd watched in awe as the duel unfolded, their cheers and gasps echoing through the courtyard. The Disney Princesses and Princes in the royal box cheered on both combatants, their voices ringing with excitement and encouragement.
"Go, Silver! You've got this!" Rapunzel shouted, waving a small flag in support.
"Come on, Anthony! Show him your best moves!" The Prince called out, clapping his hands.
Anna, still munching on chocolates, joined in the cheering. "You can do it, Silver!"
"Anna! Don't talk with your food inside!" Elsa scolded.
The crowd roared with approval, their cheers motivating Silver and Anthony to push themselves even harder.
Silver's family watched with pride in their eyes. "Our boy is doing amazing," Roberto remarked to Paula. "I'm impressed with how far he's come in such a short time."
Paula nodded, her gaze never leaving the battlefield. "Well, he has come a long way. But I hope he doesn't get hurt."
Beside them, Anthony's parents, Duke Edward and Duchess Vivian, also watched the duel unfold. While Duchess Vivian maintained her composed facade, a subtle glimmer of concern flashed in her eyes. Duke Edward, however, couldn't hide the smile of pride and excitement that tugged at his lips. He leaned towards his wife and whispered, "Our son has come so far, Vivian. It's a testament to his dedication and talent."
Duchess Vivian merely nodded, her gaze unwavering. She knew that this duel held more significance than just a friendly match. The outcome could have an impact on her own plans and could possibly affect her son's reputation if he end up losing.
"Come on Silver!" Dorado raises his voice. "Show that rich kid what you got!"
Dennise look over at Dorado. "That's my brother you're talking about." She smirks at him.
Vicky smirks back. "That's his little cousin who is the member of the famous Dream Defender group you're talking about."
The three laughed before they paid back attention to the duel.
As the duel continued, Silver's artistic creativity began to shine through. He moved with grace and fluidity, incorporating subtle flourishes into his strikes, surprising Anthony with unexpected moves. The crowd gasped in awe, impressed with Silver's unorthodox approach to sword fighting.
But Anthony, ever the skilled swordsman, remained focused and determined. He countered Silver's artistic flair with precise technique, his movements efficient and calculated.
The Disney Princesses and Princes were caught up in the excitement, unable to tear their eyes away from the intense battle unfolding before them.
"Mulan, do you see how Silver's artistic nature is influencing his swordplay?" Merida asked, fascinated by the unique style.
Mulan nodded, her eyes trained on the battlefield. "Yeah, he's blending his creativity with combat, making him unpredictable. It's a smart tactic, especially against someone like Anthony, who is used to more traditional styles."
Cinderella smiled, impressed by both young men's performance. "They both have their strengths and unique approaches. It's a testament to their individual talents and dedication."
The battle raged on, and Silver and Anthony circled each other, each searching for an opening to gain an advantage. The crowd fell into hushed anticipation, their excitement building with every swing of the sword.
At one point, Silver executed a series of swift strikes, aiming to catch Anthony off guard. But Anthony anticipated the move, deftly blocking the strikes and countering with a powerful parry that sent Silver's sword flying out of his hand again.
The crowd gasped as the sword soared through the air, and Silver's family held their breath, their hearts pounding.
Silver quickly retrieved his sword and regained his composure. He was determined to finish the duel strong.
Anthony, seeing the resolve in Silver's eyes, decided to make the final moments of the duel memorable. With a skillful feint, he drew Silver in before executing a dramatic spin, sweeping Silver's legs out from under him with a swift kick.
Time seemed to slow as Silver fell backward, but just before he hit the ground, he performed a graceful backward somersault, landing on his feet in a crouched position.
The courtyard erupted into cheers and applause, the crowd in awe of Silver's acrobatic display. Even the Disney Princesses and Princes were amazed by his agility.
"You're doing amazing, Silver!" Pocahontas called out.
"Way to go, Silver! That was incredible!" Kristoff added, clapping his hands.
With a flourish, Silver once again raised his sword, and the duel resumed.
Their movements became more intense and focused, each combatant showcasing their skills with determination and grace. Silver's artistic flair was evident in every strike and parry, while Anthony's precision and technique were as sharp as ever.
The duel between Silver and Anthony reached its climax. Their swords clashed with a resounding clang, each strike filled with determination and skill. Silver, drawing on his newfound knowledge and incorporating his artistic instincts, launched a rapid series of strikes, weaving an intricate dance of steel. Anthony met his attacks with precision, his own swordplay a testament to his years of training.
The crowd watched with bated breath, their eyes fixed on the intense battle. The Disney Princesses and Princes, along with the royal box attendees, leaned forward in their seats, their excitement palpable.
The duel was intensified, Silver found himself pushed to his limits. His muscles burned with fatigue, but his determination pushed him forward. He could feel the energy of the crowd fueling his every move. With a sudden burst of energy, Silver executed a daring maneuver, leaping into the air and somersaulting over Anthony's head. As he descended, he swung his sword in a wide arc, aiming for Anthony's exposed flank.
Anthony, quick to react, spun around, narrowly avoiding the strike. He retaliated with a swift counterattack, his sword aiming for Silver's shoulder. But Silver, channeling his agility, dodged the blow and countered with a well-timed parry.
The duel continued on in a flurry of strikes and blocks, each combatant displaying their skills and determination. The clash of steel echoed through the courtyard, captivating the audience and leaving them in awe of the spectacle. With a burst of energy, Silver unleashed a rapid series of strikes, putting Anthony on the defensive. He moved with fluidity and grace, his movements a beautiful dance of steel.
Anthony's determination only grew stronger. He focused on his guards and footwork, deflecting Silver's attacks with precision and skill. The crowd marveled at the display of swordsmanship from both young men.
Seizing the opportunity, Silver pressed his advantage, launching a rapid assault of strikes and feints. Anthony, caught off guard, struggled to keep up with Silver's unexpected moves. The crowd erupted into cheers, impressed by Silver's display of creativity and skill. But Anthony, ever the formidable opponent, quickly regained his composure. With a focused determination, he adjusted his stance and countered Silver's attacks with swift precision.
Their swords clashed in a symphony of steel, their movements a blur of calculated strikes and evasive maneuvers. The audience was captivated by the display of skill and sheer willpower.
As the duel approached its conclusion, Silver found himself drawing on reserves of strength he didn't know he possessed. With a final surge of energy, he executed a series of lightning-fast strikes, each blow landing with precision and force.
Anthony, pushed to his limits, fought back with equal ferocity. The two combatants danced across the battlefield, their swords moving in a deadly dance of skill and determination.
Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, Silver seized an opening. With a lightning-quick strike, he swishes Anthony's leg and causes him to trip and fall to the ground behind him, sending his sword flying through the air and landing several feet away.
The crowd erupted into a frenzy of cheers and applause, their excitement reaching a crescendo. Everyone leaped to their feet, clapping and cheering for both combatants, their admiration clear.
Silver stood tall, his chest heaving with exhaustion and adrenaline. He looked at Anthony, who wore a proud smile despite his defeat. With a show of respect and camaraderie, Anthony extended his hand to Silver, who accepted it.
The crowd continued to cheer, their appreciation for the display of skill and sportsmanship resounding through the courtyard. Silver and Anthony stepped back, their duel had concluded.
The Grand Duke stepped forward once more, a wide smile on his face. "Ladies and gentlemen, and honored guests, let us applaud both of these incredible young men for their remarkable display of skill, courage, and friendship. Today, we witnessed a duel that will be spoken of for years to come."
The applause echoed throughout the courtyard, and Silver and Anthony bowed in acknowledgment, their chests swelling with pride.
As the crowd slowly dispersed, Silver and Anthony found themselves surrounded by their loved ones and fellow Disney royals on the battlefield.
Cinderella approached Silver, a warm smile on her face. "Silver, that was an extraordinary performance. Your creativity and agility were a joy to behold." She then added on. "You truly are the Defender of Love, Silver! Your skills with the sword are truly remarkable. I didn't expect to see someone who has used a magic paintbrush for years learn how to use an weapon."
The other Disney Princesses and Princes echoed their sentiments, expressing their admiration and respect for Silver's talents. Silver's family, proud smiles on their faces, enveloped him in a tight embrace, showering him with love, praise, and congrat.
On the other side of the battlefield, Anthony's family approached him, Duke Edward placed a hand on his eldest son's shoulder. "Anthony, you fought with honor and skill. You've made us all proud."
Duchess Vivian, her eyes hiding her true intentions, smiled tightly. "Yes, Anthony. Your dedication and hard work were evident in every move you made since you were trained under by your mentor."
Anthony's sibling exchanged warm words and congratulations, celebrating his performance with genuine joy. They knew that despite the outcome, their son had given it his all and had proven himself to be a formidable swordsman.
Looking at Anthony, Silver couldn't help but to walk over him. "Thank you, Anthony, for teaching me how to use a sword and how I am glad to have a wonderful teacher like you."
Anthony smiled warmly, his eyes filled with pride. "Thank you, Silver, for embracing this challenge and showcasing your incredible talent. I've learned so much from you, both as an artist and as a friend."
They stood together, their swords now sheathed, their spirits intertwined.
Later on into the sunset, the Disney Princesses and Princes gathered for a celebratory feast at the courtyard, which was now adorned with colorful decorations, and the sound of laughter and music filled the air along with delicious foods to eat and some drinks.
Silver and Anthony sat together, their swords now set aside, sharing a warm camaraderie. The Disney royals and loved ones surrounded them, sharing stories and memories from the eventful day.
Cinderella, ever the gracious hostess, raised her glass to propose a toast. "Ladies and gentlemen, and dearest friends, today we witnessed a remarkable event – a duel that showcased the incredible talents of both Silver and Anthony." She began. "Silver and Anthony, two remarkable young men who have shown us the most incredible and outstanding fight in the battlefield we had witnessed earlier. It is an honor to witness your duel."
The guests raised their glasses, echoing Cinderella's words with heartfelt cheers.
As the night continued, Silver and Anthony found themselves in a quieter corner of the courtyard, away from the festivities. The twinkling stars adorned the night sky, casting a romantic glow over the scene.
"Congratulations, Silver. You were amazing out there," Anthony said, admiration in his eyes.
Silver smiled, his heart full of gratitude and happiness. "Thank you, Anthony. I couldn't have done it without you. You have been a wonderful teacher to me."
Anthony took Silver's hand in his own, a tender smile on his lips. "I'm so proud of you, Silver. You faced the challenge head-on, and your creativity and determination shone through. I couldn't have asked for a better sparring partner."
Silver blushed, feeling a warm surge of affection for Anthony. "You're an amazing skilled swordsman, Anthony. I've learned so much from you, and I hope that you will teach me more than what you have taught me since our first lesson."
Anthony's head drew closer to Silver. "What could I say? I was taught by the best in the world."
Before either of them could say more, the romantic ambiance of the evening took over, and they found themselves drawn into a gentle and passionate kiss. The world around them seemed to fade away as they embraced, surrounded by the love and support of their friends and family.
They stood together in the peaceful night, with the stars above them seemed to shine even brighter, as if to light up the garden.
I have to say, Silver has been wielding a magic paintbrush for as long as anyone can remember since the Dream Defenders group was established. His mastery over the brush is unparalleled, and he has used it to create all manner of wondrous things - from intricate murals to powerful spells. Despite his formidable abilities, however, Silver has always been a pacifist at heart. In all his years of battle and combat, he has never once resorted to using any type of weapon other than his trusty paintbrush and his own innate animal powers.
In many ways, Silver embodies the spirit of a Disney princess - gentle, kind-hearted, and fiercely dedicated to protecting those he loves. Like a princess, he possesses an otherworldly grace and a magical touch, using his powers to create beauty and wonder wherever he goes. And like a princess, he has never been one to rely on brute force or violence to solve problems, even if you believe that, Silver would alway be the one who refused and turned down and instead used kindness and love to help him out. Thankfully, with Anthony teaching him how to use a sword and any position he has learned as being the Prince's protege and how to master the art of swordsmanship.
Under Anthony's guidance, Silver learned the intricacies of swordsmanship - the footwork, the parries, the ripostes. He practiced tirelessly, honing his skills until he was able to wield a blade with the same grace and precision as he did his magic paintbrush. While you may never see him using a sword in the main current event of "The Dream Keeper Chronicles", at least we know Silver can now use a sword all think to Anthony in the future event in his story.
Next Chapter: Silver and Anthony join the Dream Defenders and their partner to attend the Stargazers Bar at Disney Springs' Town Center for a fun karaoke night together.
