Emma's Response
For four minutes, Emma sat there staring at Lance. Starting to feel nervous about what she was going to say, he began to stand up when Emma asked: "What about you? Are you telling me you have a crush on Rikki?"
Sitting back down, Lance quietly answered: "I am not sure… Maybe…"
"I think you might actually have a crush on her, Lance, otherwise you wouldn't have asked." Emma commented. "How did you feel when you first met her?"
Staring down at the table, Lance swallowed nervously. He then answered, equally as quietly as before: "Like I had been struck by lightning, like I had met a goddess come to earth, I don't know, saying something like that, it sounds silly, like I experienced love at first sight and that… is actually a reality…" Mark Twain, Thomas Hardy, Carl Jung, they had all experienced love at first sight, why should he have thought it silly?
"If that is the case, from how little I've known you, I'd approve of you more than I ever did Nate and I more than I do Zane." Emma stated. "Zane's last act hasn't exactly made me that happy about him possibly dating one of my best friends."
"W-What did he do?" asked Lance, half-curious and half-frightened. Information like that would certainly form his decision on whether he should accept Zane's invitation to join the film club or not.
"I will tell you some other time." Emma replied.
"You won't tell Rikki how I feel, will you, Emma?"
"Of course not. That is your job."
