Dean walked through the emergency waiting department, heading straight for the receptionist

"Hi. How can I help you?" She asked, her eyes fixated on the paperwork in front of her, shaking her head annoyed at whatever was on the document.

"My brother, Chase Gallagher was brought in by ambulance" He said worriedly, trying to peer anywhere behind her to see in

"Ah yes" She muttered, annoyance in her tone

Dean caught the tone, his eyebrows scrunching

"Possible alcohol poisoning" She added disapprovingly, raising her eyebrows.

Dean frowned, not entirely wanting to deal with a rude receptionist.

"He's going through a lot, not that it is any of your business" he commented, shaking his head frustrated

"Right, aren't they all?" She muttered, turning the piece of paper over and placing it on another pile of documents

"And you are?" she added letting out an exhale of breath, finally glancing up to meet with the older brothers frustrated eyes.

"Dean, Dean Gallagher. His older brother"

She nodded, "Take a seat Dean. I'll let Chase's doctor know you are here, but we are extremely busy this evening"

Dean shook his head, not bothering to respond and sitting down heavily in his seat.

He pulled out his phone, scrolling for his fathers number.

He placed his phone to his ear, listening to the dial tone

"Dean, how are you son?" Shane answered

Dean sighed, running his hand over his head "Hey, not great. It's Chase. He's in hospital, he drunk ¾ bottle of whisky"

"That'll teach the bloody idiot" Shane said annoyed over the phone

"Let me guess, over this bingo fella?" he added

Dean rolled his eyes at his Dad's demeanour, "He's not coping very well. I called you because I am worried about him, I thought you might of wanted to come down?"

Shane sighed, "I'm not coming down because Chase drunk himself stupid. Call me when he is back at yours so I can talk some sense into him"

"Yeah right, never mind Dad" Dean said dissapointed, hanging up the phone with a frustrated sigh.

He shut his eyes momentarily, raising his hands and resting his head inside them.

"Dean Gallagher?" he heard, his head picked up and he spotted the doctor calling out his name. He rose up, walking over towards the older man

"I'm Dr Roberts, I've been looking after Chase" he explained, placing his hand out to shake

Dean shook his hand, "How is he, he ok?"

The doctor nodded, "Yeah, he will be ok. He's stable, but he keeps slipping in and out of consciousness from the effects. We have opted for a naso-gastric tube to clear the toxins. We've set up an IV line and running through fluids. His blood sugar level is quite low as well, so we are dealing with that. He was vomiting quite severely in the ambulance and when he got here for a while. We couldn't get his tube in till he had calmed down"

Dean nodded, running his hand over his face "Thanks Doctor, can I sit with him?"

The doctor nodded, "Of course, right this way. He will be admitted overnight for observation and if everything runs smoothly, he can be discharged in the late morning"

Dean nodded, following the doctor through to Chase's cubicle.

Chase was lying on the bed, on his side. He was a sickly pale, his body trying to fight the alcohol in his body.

"I'll let you be with him, don't hesitate to grab a nurse if you need something" The doctor explained, before leaving.

Dean glanced down, feeling his phone vibrate. He sighed in some relief when he saw his younger brothers name appear on the screen. He took a seat on a chair near his brothers bed.

"Hey Lach" Dean sighed, running his hand over his head

"Hey, just wanting to call and see how Chase is going with the whole Bingo thing, bad timing?" Lachie asked, feeling as though he had called his brother in the middle of something

"No..No it's good actually. I'm at the hospital" he said simply, watching his little brother in his unconscious state

"What?" Lachie breathed out concerned

"Are you ok, is Chase?" he asked worriedly, his heart skipping a beat

"Dad?" he added

Dean smiled lightly, the three of the brothers always had the most concern for each other.

"It's Chase, he drunk ¾ bottle of whisky. Got alcohol poisoning"

"What, is he ok?" Lachie asked

"He will be, he's only just been here in the hour or so. He's not coping at all with what happened"

"Far out, is he conscious, are you with him?"

"Yeah, I'm right beside him but he's unconscious again. He's got a NG tube in, hooked up to a few fluid bags as well. He had a rough ride in the ambulance and when he got here apparently, violently vomiting"

"Shit, poor kid. I wish I could be there to help, is there anything I can do?" Lachie asked, he felt defeated as he was half way across the world, in the army.

Dean shook his head, "Nah Lachie, thank you though. When he's back home you can call him and have a chat."

"Ok, well let me know how he is. Can you message me when he wakes and when you're taking him home so I know everything is ok. Is Dad with you?"

"No he's not, I don't want to get into the details in case Chase can hear me" Dean sighed

Lachie nodded, biting his lip and knowing that his father could be difficult sometimes

"Ok, well keep me posted. Let him know I am here for him, that he can call me if he needs to talk or anything."

Dean nodded, running his hand over his head "Thanks Lach, I will do. Stay safe please"

"Always will" Lachie replied before hanging up.

Dean sighed, running his hand over his head and staring at his little brother. He noticed his eyes fluttering into conciousness, he slowly rose as he watched his brother.

Chase groaned out, whimpering as his body flooded with nausea.

"Hey Chasie, take it easy" Dean said softly, watching his brother squirm as he came to reality. He placed his hand to the back of Chase, offer some form of comfort for him

Chase blearily looked up at his brother, his eyes fluttering still.

"Hey, can you hear me?" Dean asked quietly, crouching down to look at his little brother

Chase let out a shaky breath, nodding slightly. The figure in front of him was blurry and swaying slightly, but he already knew who was in the room before he opened his eyes.

His big brother gave off a feeling without even having to speak, Chase knew his presence since he was a small child. The presence always brought comfort to him, even if he was an adult now.

"You worried me" Dean said simply, glancing over his brothers face

"Sorry" Chase responded quietly, he didn't want to look in his brothers eyes. He didn't want to see the disappointment that he knew would be oozing from his big brother.

Dean bit his lip, sighing. He grabbed the chair and dragged it closer to the bed and took a seat heavily in it.

"Lachie called, I told him what happened and he's extremely worried" Dean explained, watching over his adult but yet kid brother.

"Sh'dnt be..G'ta stay safe" Chase mumbled, breathing heavily

"He always will. How do you feel?" he asked

Chase licked his lips, he rose his hand to his face and felt the oxygen mask partially over it.

"Yeah, leave that" Dean said, gently moving his little brothers hand away and placing it on the bed. The older brother kept his hand close by, somewhat offering his comfort without touching his brother.

"You've got a NG tube in, plus that oxygen mask on"

Chase shifted uncomfortably at those words, he still hadn't looked into his brothers eyes and Dean knew he hadn't either.

"Hey, look at me" Dean said, his voice was stern but full of concern

Chase fluttered his eyes up to his brother, meeting with his concerned eyes

"Are you ok?" he asked

Chase barely shrugged, "I don't know" he answered softly

Dean nodded, appreciating his honesty

"You could of killed yourself Chase, I don't even want to think about what could of happened if I came home later"

"I'm sorry" Chase replied, his eyes fluttering in exhaustion

Dean ran his hand over his head, "No, I should of come home earlier. I knew you were struggling" he explained quietly

Chase re-fluttered his eyes, meeting with his big brother "Not your fault" he said quietly, letting out a shaky breath

"You ok?" Dean frowned, leaning in closer to his little brother

"I'm tired, D'n" Chase mumbled, his eye lids felt heavy as he struggled against the toxins that still made his body feel weak

"Rest up, I'll come first thing tomorrow morning" Dean said, he gently ran his hand over his brothers head, just getting a mumbled non audible response as his brother fell asleep again.
