Sasuke couldn't believe the power that Naruto had shown so much power and chakra. It was almost unbelievable, yet Naruto still lost.
He was still frozen in place when their attacker had immobilized Naruto and did something to him before tossing Naruto away like trash. He couldn't even bring himself to move to save Naruto, Sakura had to save him by using a kunai to pin Naruto to a tree.
Sakura yelled, "Sasuke! Say what you will about Naruto, that he is an annoying pest, and never thinks before jumping into things, but one thing he isn't is a coward"!
Damn it! Why couldn't he move?! He heard Itachi's voice in his head, "You cannot kill me little brother, you don't have enough hate. You will never have enough hate. Run away"...
"No!"Sasuke yelled!
His chakra flared and he activated his sharingan and drew a kunai placing it in his mouth.
All I ever cared about was surviving so that I could kill my brother, but if I can't face this demon, how could I ever hope to face him!
He ran towards the demon and leapt over it's attack. Using the trees to changle his angles and build up speed.
Getting in close he attacked the demon with a taijutsu flurry, using his smaller size and greater agility to avoid getting hit.
That didn't get through and their attack broke off for distance. It was fast, but not too fast for his sharingan.
Sasuke tracked him easily and shot out a fireball jutsu to hit him, but it missed.
Their attacker launched another Wind style attack but he evaded and managed to close the distance. Sasuke kicked the demon's legs out from under him and piledrived him onto a branch 50ft below them.
It looked like it was over, but then the body turned into a pile of mud.
Sasuke said, "Substitution"?!
Then some shuriken came flying out at 8 o'clock.
He had to act fast to avoid them and leapt off the branch. Quickly pulling out steel wire to catch a branch to slow his fall. He had to time it just write so that his next combo could work.
The demon followed him to the new branch and launched his own taijutsu combo. Striking Sasuke hard. Laying him on the ground.
The grass ninja said, "Pitiful, you're ancestors must weep to see the sad state of the Uchiha clan. Your ancestors should thank me for killing such a disappointment".
A puff of smoke came from the spot Sasuke had just been revealing a log with a half dozen paper bombs.
The grass ninja said, "What"?!
The paper bombs exploded. Sasuke could still see that the grass ninja was still alive despite the blast. Now time for the Uchiha clan's Sharingan Windmill Triple attack.
He launched the shuriken attached with wires at the grass ninja. Surrounding and binding the grass ninja to a broken tree.
Everything was now set. He started the hand seals. Placing the wire connected to his mouth in between the tips of extended fingers in the tiger seal.
Sasuke said, "Fire Style: Dragon Flame Jutsu"!
Releasing a massive torrent of flames it shot out along the wire blasting the grass ninja with the flames.
The grass ninja's screams could be heard over the roar of the fire.
The flames finally went out, leaving only a charred hole through the tree and the grass ninja's charred corpse.
He was breathing heavily, bent over and panting. The fight had taken almost everything out of him.
Sakura called out, "Sasuke! You did it"!
She ran towards him, but in all honestly Sasuke barely noticed her.
She got to him and tried to comfort him when a sharp snap cut through the air. Followed by the sound of footsteps and the unmistakable sound of chakra being channeled.
A sudden heavy force soon came down on them. Making it difficult to even stand let alone move. Sakura had collapsed to her knees, barely able to keep herself from falling even further. Sasuke tried to summon every last bit of remaining strength to fight off that heavy force.
The Grass ninja said, "Such mastery of the Sharingan at such a young age," the voice changed as the grass ninja spoke, " Yes, you will do nicely".
Sasuke yelled out, trying to fight against the immobilizing force.
The grass ninja continued, "Yes, you are definitely his brother. If anything your eyes are even keener than Itachi's".
Sasuke yelled, "Who are you?! What do you want"?!
The grass ninja chuckled as he said as he pulled out the heaven scroll tossing it into his right hand, "I am Orochimaru. As for what I want, that will have to wait," He burnt the scroll right in his hand as he spoke, "First you will need to defeat the Sound ninja who serve me".
Sakura yelled out, "Just leave us alone, you already have our scroll. If we never see each other again, it would be too soon".
Orochimaru performed another hand seal, his neck elongated and his head shot out like lightning with snake-like fangs that bit into Sasuke's neck. The last thing Sasuke saw before the pain turned everything black was the face of a demon.
