Violet looked around once she got outside. There was nothing else she could do about it so she went back to the boat. The boat then went back on its way. They had found Crescent Moon Island.
The captain announced, "Crescent Moon Island!"
Mario and Luigi were the ones to go out this time. As they were solving puzzles, they had found a spell circle for the Earth Vellumental.
Mario turned to his brother, "You got this?"
Luigi folded into the Earth Vellumental, "I always got this."
With that, he roared and raised up a chunk of the island. On this chunk, there was another Toad Statue.
Mario teased, "I guess that this Full Moon Island."
Luigi turned red from embarrassment, "How was I supposed to know?"
To that, Mario laughed. They checked out the Toad Statue and opened the chest in front of it.
Mario read, "You've solved this island's test! The Diamond Key is now yours."
Luigi frowned, "The key isn't in here, fratello. Just a doorknob."
Mario perked up, "Hey, didn't Violet say that there is a missing doorknob on Mushroom Island? I bet that where this goes!"
Luigi replied, "Then let's go back there. Maybe the Diamond Key is there."
The statue said, "Those who have claimed the key - let my map guide your quest."
Luigi shivered as Mario kept his brother close. They doodled the circle on the right and the diamond in the middle. The two of them headed back towards the dock.
...
Back at Mushroom Island, they put the doorknob in the back door and found the Diamond Key in a treasure box.
Mario gushed, "Bingo!"
Luigi asked, "Yes but where is Diamond Island...?"
Violet answered, "I think it is west of Full Moon Island."
Olivia stated, "Mhm...maybe. I think we should explore this place a bit more before we leave."
The group nodded as they went down in the basement. They had found origami all over the place.
Mario breathed, "Look at all of the origami..."
Violet looked around, "Whoever made all of this must've really loved origami."
Olivia perked up, "Wait a minute! That's why I was getting a such a big vibe off of this place!"
Luigi looked at her, "What is it, Olivia?"
The origami girl explained, "I can't believe I forgot! Feels like a lifetime ago..."
The red clad plumber raised a brow, "What do you mean?"
Olivia told them, "This is my home!"
The ghost hunter did a double take, "Your home?!"
Olivia confirmed, "Yeah, well mine and Olly's."
The violet ice wielder stated, "You better explain this one, Olivia."
Olivia nodded, "Well, you see... I actually folded by my brother. He's actually a skilled origami craftsman, y'know." She turned to Luigi's, seeing his downcast. She quickly apologized, "Oh, right. You already knew that."
Luigi replied, "It wasn't your fault, Olivia. I don't blame you."
Olivia decided to switch the subject, "Anyways, he folded me so well that I began to talk, float, talk, and dance... Heh!"
Mario asked, "So what happened? I mean, who folded your brother?"
"...I can hear you..."
Violet looked around, "Who's there?"
Luigi shivered, "W - where are you?"
"I'm trapped in a space between dimensions..."
Olivia perked up, "Like I was before?"
"Y - yes I think! H - help me, please..."
Mario told the voice, "Hold on, we'll help you!"
They all looked around but only found a book taped on top of a bookshelf. Luigi gave his brother a boost up to the book. Mario then ripped off the tape, taking the book in his hand.
Mario told them, "I got it!"
Olivia cheered, "Yay!"
Mario jumped on down. He opened the book.
Luigi read, "Secrets of the Fold of Life. The Fold of Life is the ultimate origami technique, capable of giving life to your folded-paper creations."
Violet saw his face and asked, "You okay so far, Weegie?"
Luigi sniffled, "Do you mind reading the rest, Vi...?"
Violet didn't object, she held his hand. Mario hugged his brother's side. Luigi smiled at both of them.
She read the rest, "Mastery of this technique requires exhaustive training, steady hands, and strong emotions. Your love for the craft of origami must fill each and every fold for a creation to gain a will of its own."
Mario breathed, "So that's how Olly and you are alive, Olivia."
Olivia nodded, "Seems like it."
That's when a spell circle came out of the book and Mario used his 1,000 Fold Arms on the back wall. There was a Toad, taped to the back wall. Violet got him unstuck.
The Toad said, "Phew! Thanks for saving me...Mario?! Luigi?! Violet?! Wow, real celebrities are here visiting my workshop! I'm the Origami Craftsman. I live a humble life, folding origami. From sunup to sundown. Every day! ...I really love origami. You may call me Sensei."
Olivia floated over to Sensei and asked, "You're an origami craftsman? Are you the one that folded my brother?"
Mario pointed to Luigi, "And can you do anything about reversing this...?"
Sensei freaked out, "Whoa, why is Luigi origami?! And Olivia, crease my corners! Is that really you? You look just how I designed you! Who in the world folded you?! And why aren't you with Olly?"
Luigi stammered, "O - Olly is...Olly is the one that did this to me, Sensei. Not to mention to a lot of people in both the Mushroom Kingdom and the Darklands."
Sensei did a double take, "Wait what...?"
Mario explained, "Si, Weegie is right! Olly made him and Peaci origami!"
Olivia further explained, making Sensei very sad and upset.
He said, "I - I can't believe it... Olly... what have you done? But yes, it was I who crafted Olly. I wanted to make him unique so I used a secret technique to bring him to live. Olly was proud and strong...but very angry. He turned on me, trapped me in a realm between light and dark...which turned out to be just a wall, I guess. It's embarrassing. I'm guessing he completed you after that, Olivia. It seems he also ran off with my best origami-making tools."
Violet asked, "But why make Olly in the first place?"
Sensei explained, "I had intended for him to be a part of the Origami Castle I was building for the Origami Festival. Both Olly the Origami King and his sister, Olivia, were to sit up top as the finishing touches."
Luigi turned to his friends, "You think that's why Olly...said what he said in Sweetpaper Valley?"
Mario frowned, remembering Bobby, "Might've been..."
Sensei replied, "I don't celebrate my craft very often, so I might have gone a bit...overboard."
Violet told him, "Overboard or not, the Origami Castle and the Origami Kingdom is gorgeous!"
Sensei blushed, "Goodness, thank you. Anyways, I cannot believe that Olly managed to fold you on his own, Olivia. He can use the Fold of Life. Origami has folded origami. It defies the natural order! I'm responsible for all of this. I wish I'd never used that darn Fold of Life technique..."
Everyone came over to him and hugged him tightly. Sensei appreciated the hug as he returned it. They all broke out of the hug.
Olivia said, "Don't say that, Sensei! I love being alive! I've seen so many beautiful things... and made so many new friends and so many happy memories... And some sad ones too."
Mario sadly trailed off, "Yeah, poor Bobby... He should've been here with us right now..."
Everyone looked down, sadly. Olivia was about to cry until Violet placed her hand on her shoulder.
Violet reassured, "Hey, everything will be okay."
Olivia sniffled, "I hope so. I just think if we face Olly again, I might be able to talk him out of it. We'll convince him to put his anger aside and live peacefully with everyone, folded or otherwise!"
Luigi stated, "I hope your right, Olivia."
Mario replied, "It's worth a try at least."
Sensei gushed, "Remarkable! Truly remarkable! Your journey with our heroes has made you strong, Olivia. And so kind! I may not folded you myself, but...I'm proud of you."
Olivia blushed, "Aw, thank you, Sensei."
Sensei added, "I don't know how to stop Olly. I failed once. I'd only fail again. I'll have to leave him to you all. Please, keep Olivia safe on your adventure."
Everyone promised, "Can do."
