Chapter:9
Note: I own my OC.
The whole fiasco with Aaron and gang had left everyone in a sour mood. No body felt the need to party anymore, so they have decided to get back to their places. Pogue had hitched the ride with his girlfriend, so she would be staying at his place. Reid, Tyler, and Caleb would drop April back to dorms and then they would stay at Caleb's mansion for the night.
April was having tough time wrapping around things that had happened during the game of pool. The tickle she felt and the change in the angle of the shots and at some point, she thought she had seen Caleb eyes turn jet black. Was she seeing things? If not than she was at the right place and the sons of Ipswich were the only people who could answer her questions she had since she turned twelve.
All the thinking and the adrenal dump must have left April exhausted that at some point time during the ride to dorms, she fell asleep. This time she was sitting in back seat with Caleb. Caleb had felt a bit exhilarated when April had decided to sit in the backseat. Reid did not oppose and asked Tyler to sit in front. He wanted April to enjoy their night out but somehow Aaron had ruined everything.
Caleb was looking out of the window when he felt a warm body hitting his side. April was fast sleep with her head resting on his forearm and neck turned at an uncomfortable angle that might end up in a spasm, so he careful took her head in both his arms and placed it in his lap. His face lifted into a small smile. Tyler watched his actions from his side of the rare mirror. Reid was yet to notice it. Caleb again began looking out of the window with his fingers unconsciously playing with the soft locks falling on the sharp contours of April's face.
The hammar came to stop in the school's parking lot and both Reid and Tyler got out waiting for Caleb and April to follow them, but when they did not, then Reid moved to the backseat door on April's side to look why there was a delay. As he looked inside, he saw April lying flat on Caleb's lap and Caleb napping against door window.
"Great, what do we do now?" Tyler spoke while peaking inside from Reid's side. He could not discern Reid emotions at this time. Reid was too pissed at Aaron to notice the closeness between the sleeping pair.
"We use,"-he replied flatly.
Tyler gave Reid a look of disbelief. It was not possible to carry two bodies at the same time and Caleb was not someone they could easily carry.
The best and the only option currently available was to use their power to take Caleb and April to the dorms.
"But do you know where April's dorm is?" Tyler as usual stated the obvious.
Now Reid gave a dubious look to Tyler. They had met a couple of times now, but April had never disclosed where she was residing.
"What should we do now?"-Tyler asked.
"We can take her to our room and when she is awake, she can go to her dorms.," Reid explained his plan.
Tyler could only nod in agreement, so they both used their power and teleported everyone to their own room.
Reid situated April on his own bed and Caleb was sprawled on Tyler's side.
After getting refreshed Reid situated himself on one corner of his bed next to April's head and Tyler was sitting on the other side reason being that Reid's bed was the only one that was larger in size, and they were waiting for her to wake up. They used to change Caleb into a wife beater and boxer shorts. The duo silently chatted a bit. While they were still talking, suddenly they heard a muffled cry. They looked around to see the source of noise and it was coming from April's mouth. She was sobbing in her sleep. There were streak of tears on her cheeks. She was curled into one side of the bed. The sobbing continued for sometimes and now she was full on screaming. This woke Caleb from his deep slumber and now he too was standing by April's side. They tried to wake up a couple of times while shaking her up, but it was all in vain. The look of concern washed over the trio. But after a few minutes April's eyes opened with a sudden jerk.
April was suffering through one of her nightmares but this time they had some familiar faces. She saw her new friends; sons of Ipswich being tied to a stake surrounded by wildfire and a dark figure was standing in front of them with his wide arms, laughing and chanting in an unknown language. She was screaming and running towards them to stop him from doing whatever he was doing since his chanting was causing the fire to burn with bigger flames. She could also hear the painful cries coming from the sons' mouth. She could not let anyone suffer from such a pain. She tried to run towards the dark figure, but her feet were stuck to the ground. So, she did the only thing she could do, she extended her arms towards the unknown man and let the power surge through her body, an invisible ball of power blasted through her finger and the man who was now on the ground groaning. He looked towards April and gave her a mischievous smirk and suddenly disappeared in thin air. The fire surrounding the sons was also extinguished, however, when she moved closer towards them, she saw they were no real bodies only four figurines made of hay disguised as sons. Soon, she came back to her senses realizing that she was only reliving the same nightmare but with different characters.
She opened her eyes waking up to unfamiliar environment. A manly stench mixed with a strong fragrance of deodorant was there. She tried to adjust her eyes to the bright light and when they focused, she saw three familiar faces surrounding her. She felt relieved to see them in one piece and breathing. However, her relief soon turned into a panic mode when she realized that she had exposed her weakness to someone other than her family.
The three boys were themselves relieved when April woke up. Her face held a look of relief but suddenly her expression changed from relief to being frightened.
"Are you okay?" Reid asked in smallest voice.
"Yeah, I am good," April replied bringing herself to a normal stance.
She was now sitting in the bed and checking the room which was messy on her side whereas the other side was very much neat and clean. There were books and other sports items scattered in different corners and unwashed laundry lying on one of the tables. She could easily make out which was Reid's side, and which was Tyler's. A small smile graced her face while she was observing their place. Her green eyes than shifted to them and her cheeks reddened when she saw the three boys were only dressed in small boxer shorts and their toned swimmers' muscles were peeking out of the loose tank tops. Its not like she he had not seen them naked; it was just her first time to see them up, close and personal. Also, it was her first time being in a guy's room.
Reid noticed the sudden blush and he could not control his inner self from commenting.
"Liked what you see," as he tried to put on a show flexing his muscles like body builders.
She quickly scrambled off the bed to look for her shoes. She had to get out of here before she further embarrassed herself.
"You are leaving already."-Reid questioned.
"Well, this is exactly not my room."
"Oh…," Reid.
She gave final look to the boys and said her goodbye.
"Will talk about this later." She knew that the boys would be having a lot of questions about her weird sleeping habits, and she had a lot of explaining to do, but right now she needed to get all her thoughts together before that happened.
