The look on Shockhound's face was priceless as he looked at the Aerodactyl. The black, metallic armor that was illuminated by the lights and the purple aura filled Shockhound's emotions with joy. He turned around as he looked at Ferro Fett, seeing the black and purple aura.
"So, do I get to take it out for a test drive?" asked Shockhound.
"Not yet," said Ferro Fett, "It needs the Old Amber fossil that has the actual crystal with it."
"Why?" asked Shockhound.
"I was told that the crystal is only temporary. If we can get the Old Amber, we can charge it to give this zord unlimited power," said Ferro Fett.
Shockhound turned around as he looked at Ferro Fett, "But, how are we going to get the Old Amber? The rangers are probably looking for it."
Ferro Fett laughed as he turned around, "Luckily, I sent my Mooks to find one. However, we need to keep our rangers distracted."
Shockhound turned around as he looked at Ferro Fett. He grinned as he turned around, "Where's Turnchou?"
"In the engine room," he said, "Why?"
Shockhound grinned as he placed his saber behind him, "I think I found a way to get power in case those Mooks can't find the fossil. Earlier today, I was with Copysharp at Valley Windworks. They may have an energy source that I am looking for… and it could power up Aerodactyl! If you don't mind…"
Shockhound headed up the stairs to the upper deck. Ferro Fett turned around as he looked at the zord, "Gircannon, I hope you're right about this."
Chapter 9: The Game of Logic
"So," said Joe, finishing the beer Leona gave him from last chapter, "Gircannon is his name?"
"Yeah," said Leona, turning to Joe, "And what's worse is that if Drake knew him and threw me to Floaroma than we know something is up."
Joe sighed as he looked at her, "It's expected."
"Expected?" asked Leona.
"Well, you'll see," said Joe, sighing, "Ferro Fett won't be the biggest of our worries. If Drake sent you back for your protection, Gircannon is probably an extreme villain to deal with."
As he went to finish, he saw flashes of pink, blue and green energy arrive. Lisa stepped down as she had the Fossil Tracer. Throwing it down, the rangers examined it to see broken wires. Lisa was angry as she looked at everyone, "I forgot I left the Fossil Tracer where we picnicked and Bidoof bit into the Fossil Tracer."
"Oh…," said Leona, "Not good. Can we get new wiring?"
"Those wirings were specially made… I highly doubt we will be able to do this," said Lisa, "By the way, now that the news showed something about an Aerodactyl, we need to work fast!"
"Wait, Aerodactyl?" asked Joe and Leona.
"Yes, a robotic Aerodactyl destroyed half of Route 204 earlier today. The damage was significant!" Grayson stated.
Lisa nodded as she turned around, "The moment we saw the news on the way back, that's when I realized that I left the Fossil Tracer. And now we have an issue with it!"
Grayson turned around as he looked at Lisa, "Not all is lost. There are multiple ways to solve this."
He turned around as he grabbed a few marbles in his hand. He turned around as he looked at the table. The table had three marble chutes that went in different directions. The marble chutes swirled around and landed in a silver bowl. Placing the marbles in the slots, all three landed in the same spot.
"We have learned a lot in about a month from when we became rangers… from learning new ways to use our weapons, ways to use our resources. We don't necessarily have to rebuild from scratch. There are ways to do this without going over and beyond," said Grayson, "The question is where do we begin?"
"Well… we just need a power source," said Leona, looking at Grayson. Grayson raised an eyebrow as he looked at the team.
"A power source? Where?" asked Joe.
"Well, how about Professor Rowan?" asked Atticus, "He has to have wires and he could help us find the Old Amber for the Aerodactyl."
"Or… I am sure Roark can help us," said Joe, turning to them.
Grayson grinned as he looked at the three of them, "You all forgot about one place. There's a place near Floaroma Town that has a power source to keep their windmills running where we don't need wires."
"Where?" asked Joe.
"Valley Windworks," Grayson said, crossing his arms, "Why need wires when we can find an alternate source?"
The other four rangers looked at each other as they put their fingers to their chins, humming in the background. Nodding in response, all four turned to Grayson as Leona went to speak, "Let's do it!"
As the rangers went to leave, Grayson glared at Joe. Joe laughed as he took the empty beer bottles and threw them in the trash can, "I know…"
Leona turned to Grayson as she went to leave, "… I'll talk to Drake because he probably already knows."
Later that day…
Joe was walking in the middle of Floaroma Town. He was minding his own business, wandering along as he headed toward the beautiful flower garden, which was illuminated by purple, yellow and pink flowers. As he walked toward the garden, he noticed someone familiar. It was a girl his age, of course. She had brown hair with blonde tips. She had green, sparkly emerald eyes. She also wore a white t-shirt with blue jeans. As she was using the Squritbottle in her hand, she turned to see Joe, who had his arms crossed his chest.
"If it isn't who I think it is," he said, "What's up, Erica?"
Erica darted her eyes, marching toward him. With her hand, she smacked Joe across the face. Joe felt the imprint as Erica turned to her, "Thanks for going to Hoenn and not calling me back, jerk!"
"Sorry," said Joe, rubbing his right cheek, "I was trying to get away from my family. Who knew I would come back…"
Erica shook her head, "Well, what do you want? I am a little busy repairing some damage that creature did earlier today."
"Well," said Joe, looking at Erica, "I was going to send honey home… but was wondering if you knew anything about the Old Amber fossil."
"Old Amber? You mean the Aerodactyl Fossil?" asked Erica.
Joe had a feeling she would know. Before she took over the flower and honey business at Floaroma Town, Erica was one of the employees at Oreburgh Museum under Roark's supervision. She ran into Joe last year while Joe was heading to Hoenn to study to be a trainer. Joe knew she had some expertise in it.
"Yeah," said Joe.
Erica turned around as she looked at him, "Well, glad you mentioned something about it. I just got a text from Roark. The Old Amber was stolen by a bunch of green creatures called Mooks?"
"When did you just get that text?" asked Joe.
"Literally fifteen minutes ago," said Erica, looking at Joe, "Why are you asking questions like this?"
Joe turned around, scratching his chin. He looked over as he turned to Erica, "Nothing. I was just trying to figure out something. I was going to ask you about shipping honey back, but I must wait on it for now."
Erica shook her head, "You always don't like answering questions."
"I hate questions, you know it," Joe said, "Now, if you'll excuse me…"
As he turned around, he headed in the opposite direction. Erica shook her head as she continued her job. As Joe started walking away, he turned to his smartwatch aka the Dino Com to communicate with the team.
"Hey," said Joe, "Have we heard from Roark?"
"No," said Leona, over the intercom, "Now that you mention it, why?"
"Apparently, Oreburgh Museum was just robbed. The Old Amber was taken…," said Joe.
Leona was silent on the other line for a second, "Oh…"
Joe nodded as he looked up. He squinted his eyes as he hid behind a bush. He noticed Shockhound and Turnchou walking away with a bunch of Mooks. Behind them was a green and yellow Mr. Mime creature with a red backpack. All three were walking silently as Joe went to speak. He then turned around to see that Shockhound was tossing the Old Amber in the air, "I think we found who it is."
"Who?" asked Leona.
"Shockhound… and he has Turnchou with him," said Joe.
"I'll contact the others. Don't do anything crazy," said Leona.
Joe nodded, "Over and out."
He peeked from the bushes, seeing where exactly the monsters went. Shockhound and the monster were walking away, where Turnchou brought up the rear, examining the area. Joe crawled along the bushes as he continued to look at the trees. He looked up as he went to stand, noticing he ran out of bushes. Leaping toward the next tree, he looked to notice a sign. He kept a huge distance as he saw the sign "Route 205". He looked around as he went to follow them.
Ten minutes of walking, Joe crept into more bushes. He looked up to see a white and tan building with a purple rooftop. The front yard had white windmills that kept whipping back and forth. He knew exactly where they were going: Valley Windworks.
"Valley Windworks, eh?" he asked.
He kept crawling toward the windows, avoiding contact as he went to peek in one of them. He watched in surprise as the Mooks arrived, kidnapping the scientists. The scientists were tied up in green links and around a pole. Joe was examining as he was noticing the Mr. Mime creature walking toward the next room. From what Joe could tell, he was able to see what was going on.
"Interesting…," Joe said to himself, turning around. As he turned around, he noticed a Mook was standing right behind him, "Oh crap."
The Mook went to strike, only for Joe to block it. He kicked the Mook in the face and then grabbed his head. He threw the Mook against the building and slammed him to the ground. Looking up, he heard a few rumblings from the inside as he started to run. As he went to run, a few Mooks jumped him from behind. Joe grabbed one of them that was on him and threw him across. He then swept across, knocking the rest out. He turned around as he kicked two more Mooks, who were on either side. Turning around, he smacked into a green wall that magically appeared. He looked back to see the Mr. Mime creature.
"Mimazer is my name, and you know way too much!" he shouted.
"So much for trying to be sneaky," said Joe.
"Joe!"
Joe turned around as the other rangers arrived. Mimazer turned around as he looked at them, "Ah, more of them!"
"Where is the Old Amber you stole from the museum?" asked Grayson.
"That's for me to know and for you to not find out. Mooks, keep 'em busy!"
Leona and the others struck a fighting pose as the Mooks were coming closer toward them. The five of them split up to face the Mooks Army.
Leona flipped forward as she kicked a few Mooks in the face. She spun around as she kicked two behind her. She then used a spinning hook kick as one of them spun, landing on the grass. Atticus grabbed both Mooks on either side and threw them across. He then grabbed another Mook, lifted it with both legs and then threw him into a pile. The Mooks landed on the ground instantly. Lisa blocked two of them with her arms as she flipped backwards. She kicked two of them in the face as she turned around to kick another. Using a spinning hook kick, the Mooks spun around and landed on the ground. Lisa withdrew her Fossil Blaster as she pierced her groups of Mooks. Joe turned around as he used his Fossil Blaster, shooting all of the Mooks in the area. Turning around, he headed straight for Mimazer. As he went to strike, a green barrier appeared as Joe was hit. Mimazer laughed as he went toward him, only to get slashed from behind. Grayson arrived with his Fossil Saber.
"You will never get that fossil… even if you save the scientists!" he shouted.
He headed toward the front entrance of Valley Windworks. Closing the door behind him, the rangers chased after the door. Grayson grabbed the door as he tried to open it. Swinging it open with full force, a green light of energy surrounded them as a wind tunnel formed, collecting all five rangers.
In a flash, Grayson and the others turned around, noticing where they were. The rangers were surrounded by dirt paths with red walls everywhere. The team turned to see that there was a green arrow that said 'START'.
"Where is this?" asked Joe.
"What is this?" asked Atticus.
Lisa turned around as she looked at the dirt path. Immediately, there was a white letter. Picking it up, she opened the letter as she went to talk to them. The rangers looked at each other as Lisa opened it.
"Welcome to Mimazer's Maze, a maze where death and destruction find your way. If you want to stop our plans, you must find a way to get through the whole maze. Note, some of you or all of you may not come out of this maze alive," said Lisa.
"Great… just great," said Grayson, "And with this maze, the possibilities are endless!"
"Well, the faster we get out of here, the faster we can get the Old Amber back," said Leona.
"Well," said Joe, turning around, "What are we standing around for? Let's go!"
Atticus turned to Joe as he was looking at the path. The five of them started their walk as they were heading to their right. Turning right around the corner, there was a red door that stood in front of them. Leona immediately went to open the door. As she went to turn the golden knob on the door, Grayson looked around, noticing a silver wire that was attached to the door. Seeing the wire, he noticed a black device that stood in the ground.
"DON'T OPEN THE DOOR!"
It was too late as Leona opened it. Leona turned around to see a black gatling gun in front of her. Grayson threw her down as the others took cover. Bullets started flying as the rangers ducked for cover, finding barriers to hide. The shots continued for two full minutes. Within that time frame, everything got pummeled except for the barriers they were taking cover. Grayson peeked to notice something. The gatling gun also had a green scope attached. It was moving around.
"What is that?" asked Leona.
"It's motion-sensored," said Grayson, sinking down, "If we move, it will shoot."
"So, we can't close that door?" asked Leona.
"Nope," said Grayson, "Not unless someone wants to be a sacrifice."
Atticus rolled his eyes as he leaned his head on the wall, "Thanks for the vote of confidence."
Joe reached for his Energy Crystal. As he tried to activate it, he saw there wasn't a glow. The Energy Crystals would allow them to use their weapons outside of their ranger suits. Something was amiss.
"Well… we can't morph," said Joe, looking at the team, "I can't access the Fossil Blaster to shoot it down."
Lisa sighed as she looked at the door, "Just our luck. Wait… does anyone have any psychic Pokémon to close the door?"
Grayson turned around as he looked at the door and the wire. He turned to the wire as he examined it even more. The wire was not also connected to the door, it was also tied to the trigger. He then noticed the black device attached to it. Grabbing a stone, he turned to the others, "Duck…"
As everyone ducked for cover, Grayson threw the rock in the air. As the rock went flying, the black device turned green and the gatling gun moved to the rock position. Shooting it, the rock exploded into pieces.
"That's it," said Grayson, "The sensor that activated the trap door is connected to sensor on the scope of the gun."
"So, destroy the sensor?" asked Joe.
"Pretty much," said Grayson, taking out a Poké Ball, "Sneasel, I choose you!"
Immediately, Sneasel appeared out of the Poké Ball. Sneasel looked up as Grayson knelt down, "You need to do exactly as I tell you. Your life depends on it!"
"Sneas…" Sneasel responded.
Sneasel walked with Grayson to the corner where the barrier meets the wall. Grayson turned to see the black device, "Use Ice Beam on that device!"
Sneasel opened his mouth as a crystal white beam coveredthe device. Immediately, the gun started going bananas, shooting all over the place. Grayson grabbed Sneasel as the shooting intensified.
"Not bad!" said Joe, "You just made it worse!"
"It was expected to be that way," shouted Grayson. Grayson turned to see the gatling gun go from his area across. As the shooting went away from his area, he turned to Sneasel, "Slash that wire!"
Sneasel jumped up quickly and slashed the wire. Within seconds, the gun stopped. The team stood up as the gunfire ended. Grayson turned around as he grabbed the device. Sneasel slashed it in half.
"Great job!"
Lisa and the others turned to each other as Grayson shook his head, "This has become the most dangerous game."
"As much as I want to say it surprises me, it doesn't," said Atticus, "Ferro Fett wanted our Energy Crystals as much as he wants to use Aerodactyl. This maze is a death trap."
Joe nodded as he turned to the group, "Well, we need to be vigilant."
Leona nodded as she looked at the area, "Well, obviously there was nothing behind the door. We need to turn around."
Turning around, the rangers headed across the path from where they were. The team was very surprised as they noticed a few other doors. Grayson examined each door. There were no other trip wires. Grayson opened the first door. As the door opened, Grayson noticed three Electrode rolling out of it.
"GRAYSON!" shouted the rangers.
Grayson and Sneasel quickly jumped out as the Electrode began to glow in a bright white light. A triple explosion appeared as the two of them flew across, landing on the ground. Grayson struggled to get up as Joe went to help him up, "Well, that was not it."
Joe turned around as he saw the fainted Electrode. Examining them, he noticed that the Electrode had wires in their body. Lisa turned around to see them as she went to examine, "Hold on… Electrode's have mechanical organs that cause them to faint when they use Explosion. These are wires only."
"So, actual bombs," said Leona.
"Correct," Lisa responded.
Joe turned around as he went to open the next door. As he opened the door, he looked to see a flamethrower appear. Joe dodged the attack as a stream of flame emerged. Landing on the ground, he looked up to see the flames.
"Feraligatr, use Hydro Pump!" shouted Grayson.
Feraligatr jumped out of its Poké Ball and released a stream of water, breaking the flamethrower device. The other rangers sighed as Atticus looked at the next door.
Atticus turned around as he opened the door. Opening the door, he saw nothing but a black hole. The rangers looked over as Atticus went to step in. Atticus saw nothing as he went through. He felt the floor underneath him fall. The others went through the door, screaming as he did.
The rangers and two of Grayson's Pokémon landed in the main lobby of a mansion. The floor was red and white with stairs that had a spiral staircase. There were also other rooms as well. The rangers looked at it as they were surprised to see what was going on. This was no ordinary maze based on the traps.
"Great…," said Leona.
Leona turned around as she saw a white envelope. Picking it up, she opened it as she began to read it to the others, who were slowly getting up.
"Congratulations on making it this far, the gun, flamethrower and explosive Electrode should've killed you, but a las you are here. Believe it or not, you are now underground Valley Windworks in this dimension. Your job within forty-five minutes is to try to get to the top of the mansion. There, I will be there to greet you. If you get there and defeat me in a Pokémon Battle, you and your friends will be set free and the scientists will be free. If you can't get out…"
Leona froze as she turned around as she looked at her friends and then at the letter, "This mansion dimension is set to explode and you will never be able to leave alive."
"Wait…," said Lisa.
Lisa turned around as she saw the timer on the wall. It said 44:59 and it was ticking down. Lisa looked at the group, "Well, great…"
Joe turned around as he looked at his Dino Com. He noticed it was offline, "And we can't communicate with each other."
Leona turned around as she looked at the passageways, "This is going to sound horrible but we are going to have to split up."
"What?" asked the rangers.
"We can cover more ground," said Leona.
Grayson nodded as he turned to them, "She's right."
"But…," said Lisa, shaking her head, "This is a bad idea."
Grayson turned around as he looked at her. He put his hands on her shoulders, "We have to believe in ourselves if we want to get out alive."
Lisa nodded silently. Grayson turned around as he looked at the others, "Leona, shall we?"
Leona nodded. Immediately, all five rangers split into different directions.
Meanwhile…
Mimazer was sitting at Valley Windworks, babysitting the scientists with the Mooks. He was watching the screen as he saw the rangers walk around the mansion. He grinned as he looked at the team, "Very smart. Granted they will never get up here."
He turned around as he looked around, seeing Shockhound. Shockhound and Turnchou looked at the screen, "How are they?"
"They survived… for now," he said.
"Good," said Shockhound, "Turnchou, are the preparations ready?"
Turnchou nodded as he turned to him, "Everything is ready."
Shockhound grabbed Mimazer by the neck, "Watch them!"
He looked up to the Mooks, "If the scientists escapes, kill them!"
The Mooks nodded in response. Shockhound turned around as he walked away with Turnchou. The scientists looked very nervous as the Mooks started laughing. Mimazer grinned as he looked at the screen, "40 minutes left…"
Back in the maze…
Leona walked around the lower level in the kitchen area. She was amazed at the high-quality kitchen. The silver pots and pans and the silver cabinets made her want not to leave, but she knew time was of the essence. She then turned to a motion sensor. Immediately, the oven exploded next to her. She fell backwards as the kitchen knives went at her. She dodged them as she started running out the door. Breathing heavily, she went to walk into another hallway, she turned left and right. Immediately, she was back in the lobby. She looked up as she saw the timer.
"Wait… I'm going around in circles…," said Leona, "Let's try another way."
Joe went upstairs, heading to a hallway. He turned to see the laundry room and another room. He then turned to see an office. As he looked at the office. He went to see if there were any clues. As he stepped into the office, he noticed the door closed behind him. Joe turned around to see an automatic weapon start to appear. Knowing it would appear in seconds, Joe hopped over as he went behind the gun. As it began to shoot, Joe held on to the gun, trying to pull the wires. Immediately, as he tried to break the wires, he felt a Poké Ball release. He looked to see his Machoke break the gun in pieces. Throwing a Mach Punch, the gun exploded in pieces. Joe landed on the ground as he was caught in the smoke. The office was all torn up as with bullet holes as he turned to Machoke, "Well, thanks!"
Machoke nodded with a smile on his face. Joe walked over to the door… or what was left of it. Machoke broke down the door as he looked at the hall. Joe noticed the gun bullets pierced through the office into the other side of the hall. It showed that the walls were that thin it could tear the whole maze apart. Hopefully, no one was there when he was looking. As he continued into the hall, he then noticed the same spot where the rangers met up.
"Are you kidding me? After almost getting shot?" asked Joe.
Atticus was walking around the wine basement area. He was amazed at how many barrels of wine there were as he was sneaking through. As he continued his steps, he noticed a tripwire that was on the ground. He stepped over it as he headed on his way. As he continued to walk, he also saw a motion sensor. He jumped over the motion sensor, just for a black cage to appear above him. Atticus quickly dodged as the cage landed. He then turned to the rock walls had spikes that led to the exit, and they were closing. Atticus started picking up the pace as the walls were closing in. As the exit got larger, Atticus flew across as the walls continued to push. Escaping the walls, the walls crushed together. He looked at it and stood in shock. He turned around as he noticed the lobby.
"WHAT?"
Lisa went in a different direction. She turned to the living room. She looked at the timer as she started walking around. Lisa shook her head as she went to open the window. Thinking it was a good idea to get out. As she did, she felt glass. She looked to notice that it was a barrier. She turned around as she looked at the couches. She grinned as she went to go by them, going to another room. As she went to leave the room, the barrier blocked her. Lisa scratched her head as she heard something laughing. Lisa turned around as she saw a Bulbasaur, Pikachu, Clefairy, Charmander and Squirtle Poké Doll with sunglasses.
"Hee hee hee…," they shouted, "We got her!"
"What do you mean?" asked Lisa.
"Kill, kill, kill!"
Immediately, Clefairy and Charmander had submachine guns. Squirtle had a shotgun and Pikachu had two pistols. Bulbasaur had a rocket launcher. Lisa screamed as she took cover. Shots rang out as the whole living room turned to shreds with the dolls screaming back and forth. Lisa turned around as she then saw a Bulbasaur release a rocket. Lisa dodged as the rocket exploded in front of her. Lisa flew backwards as she landed on the ground. She then noticed that there was a fireplace. Crawling to the fireplace, she turned to see the stuffed Poké Dolls laugh as they went to load their next rounds.
"Goodbye, pinkie!" shouted Clefairy.
"Goodbye, Clefairy!" Lisa said, climbing up the fireplace. As she continued climbing, the animals started shooting. Screaming for dear life, she continued climbing up the chimney. As she climbed up the chimney, she flew out and landed in the hall, next to Grayson's feet.
"You okay?" asked Grayson.
"I will never go to my cousin's shop for a while," said Lisa, mortified, "Poké Dolls with guns."
Grayson nodded as he turned around, seeing the vent. He could hear them laughing on the bottom. Grayson turned around as he looked at the hall, "Well, it looks like you were able to get somewhere. It's amazing how this maze can flip you around."
"What do you mean?" asked Lisa.
"I've been through two attempts trying to get out. I ended up in the lobby," said Grayson, "So far, this is the farthest I have gotten. Nice to know where you ended up connected with it."
The two of them continued walking through the halls of the mansion. Lisa turned around as she looked at each room, "Why aren't we going to the rooms?"
"Each room has a trap. I've noticed it. I learned if we just follow the halls and stairs, it is the only way up," said Grayson.
Grayson turned around as he saw a new set of stairs. He has never seen this before. Lisa and Grayson walked up the stairs, heading toward the top. The stairs ended at the top, where there were two red doors. As the doors opened, Grayson was amazed to see what was going on. As Lisa slowly followed, Grayson waited for her. Grayson looked up to see that there was a pipe like structure. Immediately, like a vacuum cleaner, Grayson yelled as he was sucked up. Lisa looked up to follow. Before the doors closed, Lisa also flew through. The two of them yelled as they were covered in darkness. Immediately, a flash of light appeared as Grayson and Lisa landed… on the courtyard outside of Valley Windworks.
"We're back," said Lisa.
"Yeah…," said Grayson, looking at the trees. He then turned around as he saw that there were only 15 minutes left. He dashed over as he looked at the windows. He turned to see the Mooks with the scientists. He then turned around to look at another window. He stared as he watched what was going on. Shockhound was tied to a chair with Turnchou pressing a button on the machine. He watched as Turnchou used one of the turbines to plug into the Old Amber, which was then connected to an energy crystal. As he pressed the button, golden energy surrounded all of the components as Shockhound screamed. Grayson watched as Shockhound roared. Watching intently, Grayson turned to see something interesting. He saw a golden blob appear as Shockhound fought it, "Stay inside! Fuse with me!"
"Fuse with me… what?" asked Grayson.
"GRAYSON!"
Grayson turned around as Lisa was tied up. Grayson noticed Mimazer grinning with his Poké Ball. He laughed as he looked at them, "I'm amazed both of you made it out! Now, with only 10 minutes left, it's time for a Pokémon Battle!"
"You're on, Mimazer… that is, if you have any," said Grayson.
"Go… Mr. Mime!" he shouted.
Immediately, a silver and black Mr. Mime appeared with green eyes. It acted exactly like Mr. Mime, except he was more robotic. Grayson shook his head, "Robotic Pokémon really are annoying… go Sneasel!"
Immediately, Sneasel appeared. Sneasel snarled as it looked at Mr. Mime, "Sneasel, Double Team!"
Sneasel immediately went to duplicating itself around Mr. Mime. Mimazer laughed as he looked at him. Grayson turned around as he looked at Mr. Mime, "Sneasel, use Feint Attack!"
Sneasel dashed through Mr. Mime. Mr. Mime turned around as a blue barrier pushed Sneasel back, knocking Sneasel down.
"Hee hee… I don't even have to call it!" he said, "This Pokémon can defend without me saying a word!"
Mr. Mime turned around as it opened its mouth. A pink blast of energy struck Sneasel. Sneasel screamed as it was hit by the attack.
"Sometimes, Fairy moves work!" he said.
Grayson turned around as Sneasel shook off the attack.
"Sneasel, Ice Beam!"
Immediately, Sneasel released a beam of ice toward Mr. Mime. Immediately, a green aura surrounded Mr. Mime as the attack turned around, headed toward Sneasel. Sneasel broke free and dodged it. Mirror Coat was being used.
Lisa turned around, "It looks like no matter what you do, it's going to block everything!"
Sneasel nodded as Grayson examined the area. He pierced his eyes as Mimazer had a handheld device. He then noticed something peculiar as Mr. Mime turned around to him. He had a black and yellow device.
"That's it…," said Grayson, "Sneasel, use Slash!"
Sneasel nodded as he went to strike with a slash attack. A red aura surrounded him, immediately Grayson knew what was next, "Switch to Ice Beam!"
A white aura struck from Sneasel's mouth. This time, Mr. Mime was hit by the frozen attack. Mr. Mime was freezing as the device started blowing up. Immediately, Sneasel slashed the device as Mr. Mime exploded into pieces. Mimazer stood there in response as his Sneasel went to Lisa, breaking the ropes. Mimazer turned around as Lisa used the Fossil Blaster, shooting the windows at Valley Windworks. One of the blasters destroyed the maze device, exploding it. Everyone inside looked up as flashes of red, black and blue appeared. Lisa broke through the windows as she kicked the Mooks down, shooting them in response. She quickly untied the scientists.
"Get to safety!"
Getting out of the building, Lisa turned around to see Turnchou swing at her. Lisa dodged the attack as she kicked him in the stomach. Lisa then turned around as she saw the device that was attached to Shockhound. Shockhound looked up as Lisa pulled the blaster, shooting the device. Exploding, Shockhound looked up as she grabbed the Old Amber, "I believe this belongs to us."
"You!" he shouted.
Lisa grinned as she started running away. Shockhound turned to leave, but then stopped. He grinned as he saw the golden and purple energy crystal, "I'll wait… I'll let Mimazer finish them."
Outside…
Grayson slashed Mimazer with his Fossil Saber. Mimazer turned around as he spun, looking at the team. Lisa turned around as she looked at them, "Old Amber is returned, scientists are out."
"Shockhound had it," said Grayson, "Right?"
"Yep," said Lisa, "Thanks for saving us."
Grayson grinned as he patted Lisa on the shoulder. Leona, Joe and Atticus nodded silently as Grayson stood in the middle, "Let's send Mimazer to the scrap heap! Sneasel, return!"
Stretching his Poké Ball, Sneasel returned to his Poké Ball. The rangers nodded as they stretched out their Fossil Chargers, "Fossil Charger, Energize!"
Activating their Fossil Chargers, the rangers did a little dance with their Fossil Blasters. Inserting the Fossil Chargers in the Fossil Blasters, the rangers held up their weapons.
Tyrnatrum, Energize!
Armaldo, Energize!
Carracosta, Energize!
Kabutops, Energize!
Bastiodon, Energize!
Spinning the Fossil Blasters, the rangers stretched their weapons to the sky, "Unleash the Power!"
Bursts of red, black, blue, green and pink energy shot out as their Prehistoric Pokémon transformed into their suits.
"Tyrantrum! Dino Charge Red!"
"Armaldo! Dino Charge Black!"
"Carracosta! Dino Charge Blue!"
"Kabutops! Dino Charge Green!"
"Bastiodon! Dino Charge Pink!"
"Poké Rangers… Dino Charge!"
Grayson stepped forward as he carried his Fossil Saber, "Time to send you back!"
Shockhound stepped forward as he was looking at the rangers fighting Mimazer. He turned around as he looked at the wretched devices destroyed. Turnchou turned around as he looked at Shockhound. His face was full of horror and worry. He looked at Shockhound, wondering what was next.
"What are we going to do?" asked Turnchou.
"Step aside," said Shockhound, "I have more than enough energy in this crystal. It's time the rangers met their match! Aerodactyl, I choose you!"
Pressing the energy crystal, a purplish goldish energy surrounded it as he threw it. Dark clouds formed above the area. Golden lightning bolts struck the ground as the Aerodactyl flew across. He turned around as he watched the rangers struggle.
Lisa turned around as she was kicked in the face by Mimazer. Lisa noticed the Aerodactyl coming toward them, releasing purplish black energy beams. Explosions surrounded them as the rangers fell to the ground. Joe and Grayson turned around as they nodded in response.
"Kabutops…"
"Armaldo…:"
"I Choose You!"
Pressing their Fossil Chargers, they threw them up in the air. Flashes of black and green appeared as their zords appeared, fighting Aerodactyl. Grayson turned around as Mimazer released a blue and pink barrier at Atticus. Atticus landed on the ground as he turned to Leona. Leona spun around as she was hit. Grayson jumped up as he headed toward him. Using his blaster, he went to strike. He noticed that a barrier formed. Grayson grinned as he landed behind him with his Fossil Saber, slashing him from behind. Mimazer screamed as smoke filled the back of his body.
"What is this?" he asked.
"That was your plan all along. Luckily, I wasn't going to fall for it twice," said Grayson, "Leona, Atticus… your chargers!"
Leona and Atticus nodded as they threw their chargers. Grayson pressed both chargers as he opened the Fossil Saber. He placed the Tyrantrum, Carracosta and Kabutops Charger in the saber. A green, red and blue aura surrounded the Fossil Saber as he held it from behind.
"Tri-Fossil Slash!"
Raising his saber, three lines went diagonally across. One red, one blue and one green line went in, digging into his body. Mimazer screamed as he landed on the ground, exploding into pieces.
"Wow…," said Lisa, looking at Grayson, "That was great."
Grayson nodded as he acknowledged her compliment. Looking up, the Aerodactyl slashed the Armaldo and Kabutops. Both zords landed on the ground as Leona turned to them, "Tyrantrum, I Choose You!"
Throwing the battery, Tyrantrum landed on the ground in a flash of red light. Before Leona could say anything, a green beam pierced through the sky, hitting Mimazer's corpse. Mimazer grew ten times bigger as he looked at the rangers.
"Let's tear them apart!" shouted Mimazer.
"Tri-Fossil Fusion!" shouted Grayson, Joe and Leona.
Immediately, Tyrantrum opened its mouth. Black and green energy surrounded Armaldo and Kabutops as Tyrantrum ingested the energy. A red aura surrounded the Tyrantrum as the legs began to rise higher, seeing robotic feet. The Tyrantrum Zord roared as the upper body rotated, leaving the tail to be the left side and the head of the zord on the right. The Kabutops Zord jumped up in the air. Folding its legs and stretching its blade like arms, it connected to the left side of the Dino Charge Megazord. The Armaldo Zord jumped up as it folded its arms and legs. The tail turned into a sharp edge nozzle. The head of the zord connected to the other part of the Tyrantrum. Finally, the head of the Dino Charge Megazord was formed.
All five rangers were in the cockpit, ready to fight.
"Dino Shotgun Megazord, Battle Ready!"
"You are in my way…," Shockhound said, "Aerodactyl…"
Aerodactyl nodded as it charged across, slashing Mimazer. The rangers turned around as they tried to stop Aerodactyl, but they also were hit.
"Let's deal with Mimazer first," said Leona, "The finisher!"
Black and green energy surrounded the Dino Shogtun Megazord. The rangers took out their Fossil Blasters.
"Dino Shotgun Megazord, Rock Blast!"
Pulling the trigger, 25 black and purple boulders erupted out of Armaldo's weapon. Piercing the armor, Mimazer screamed as more came in contact. Screaming, he was pelleted by rocks. As he went to land on the ground, a black and purple energy beam came from behind, not also hitting the rangers, but going through Mimazer, destroying it.
The purple beam was so intense that black and golden energy surrounded the Dino Charge Megazord as it began to glow, separating the zords. The five rangers landed on the ground, unmorphing. The Aerodactyl landed on top of Valley Windworks, screaming.
"Rangers," a voice boomed, "Meet Aerodactyl! Your next adversary! What you experienced was a warning shot. Next time, it's real!"
A black and golden aura surrounded it as the zord disappeared. The rangers turned around as they looked at each other, speechless at what they saw.
Back at Dino Paradise…
"It's working!" shouted Lisa, turning around to see the Fossil Tracer. Inserting a few batteries they received from Valley Windworks, the Fossil Tracer was operational. Turning around, Joe and Atticus brought a chocolate cake from the Oreburgh Museum to try. As Joe opened the cake, the rangers were amazed as they were looking at it. Within seconds, cake was sliced up as all were sitting down. The socialization continued throughout as they hung out, except Grayson was very quiet about the whole thing. Leona turned around as she sat down, noticing he was quiet. He gave the Old Amber to Lisa, wondering if that was the fossil that was used. The results could take a while.
"What's going on with you?" asked Leona.
"Eh… just thinking," Grayson muttered.
"Thinking? About what?" asked Leona.
Grayson turned around as he looked at the red ranger, "While you were all caught in that maze, I was watching Shockhound. He was in the main lab, working on the energy crystal."
"Wait… there's an energy crystal?" asked Leona.
"Yeah… while he was working on it. He used the batteries to try to convert and channel the gem. It changed color…," said Grayson.
"Color?"
Grayson nodded, "It was gold."
Leona froze as she looked straight forward. She knew what he was talking about as he turned to look at the cake. Continuing to eat, Leona continued to speak, "What else?"
"Shockhound had the Old Amber the whole time… because I saw a yellow being coming out of Shockhound. It looked human. Lisa and I had the conversation when she barraged into the lab to destroy Turnchou's device," said Grayson.
Leona turned around as she looked at the others, "Well… I am not going to worry now. But, tomorrow, we will figure out what Shockhound's plan is and who he is trying to hide. More importantly, it's true that he summoned Aerodactyl."
Grayson nodded as Leona patted him on the back. Grayson turned around as the other rangers were all talking together, hanging out and laughing. Drake sat there and watched as he turned to the other side.
"And soon, everything will fall into play…," Drake said.

Learning of Shockhound's possible plot, the rangers do some investigation about Aerodactyl. However, Shockhound and Aerodactyl decided to unleash their first attack! On top of it, Ferro Fett decides to up the ante with sending an upgraded army. Looks like our heroes will have to save Sinnoh before things get a little rampant!
Poké Rangers Dino Charge Chapter 10: Aerodactyl's Appearance
A/N: Whoo, that was a tough chapter (and a long one at it). I realized Valley Windworks is one floor. It would be hard to do a maze on one floor. So, I used my 80s cop imaginations with hard weaponry and dimensional rift imaginations and made it more interesting for the rangers. I also am probably going to get some heat about Electrode's physiology but I am not a Pokémon expert much on Electrode except that it looks like an upside down Poké Ball and it had a Hisuian Form in Arceus.
However, the main question: Who did Shockhound capture to pilot it?
You will have to find out next week! Actually, you get to have a double chapter next week. The week of July 31st, there will not be updates and I will explain when I return August 11th for Chapter 12's update. I will still be writing some chapters while I am out but I just wanted to let you know now. You can read both chapters next week and wait a week… or if you were in a rhythm of the weekly updates, you can read Chapter 10 next week and then read Chapter 11 the week after, whatever is easier for you.
