The Daleks flew out of the cavernous home that they made and went as a squadron. They first flew to the police station, breaking down the door by punching it. All the police in the station went to the front fully armed, including Detective Lawrence. "Stop right there!" He said, his gun pointed squarely at the eyestalk of once if the Daleks, "Don't you dare move!"

"Your threats are worthless!" one of the Daleks replied, "Daleks are superior to humans!"

The Daleks were then shot at by the police, the ego of the cops getting the better of them, as what usually occurred at times like these. All the bullets were depleted from all of the firearms, yet nary a dent nor scratch were on the Daleks. A sense of dread overshadowed the entire police force as the Daleks raised their arms and uttered one word loudly: "Exterminate!" With that one word, five lasers came out of each hand. The retreating cops were slaughtered en masse, with one managing to find a hiding spot to make a call to Teranzo.

Meanwhile, the Doctor, Jessica, Khaldun, Faith, and Terna were all just getting out of the welding shop when Terna's phone went off. "Officer Beaumont, what the hell's going on?" Terna said in panic.

"Everyone's dead, Captain!" Beaumont answered, with the Daleks yelling "Exterminate!" constantly in the background, "These machines have overrun the police force! Call President Robertson plea-" He could not finish his call before he was exterminated, the electricity from the laser frying the phone.

Terna, in a horrified expression, put his phone away. "Doctor." he said.

"What happened, Teranzo?" the Doctor replied worryingly.

"The New Orleans police force is dead."

The group were getting anxious barring the Doctor, who was in a more concerned mood: the force meant to protect the streets were all slaughtered. The Doctor put her hand on Terna's shoulder. "What was the last thing you were told in that call?" the Doctor asked.

"Before he died, Officer William Beaumont said that I should call President Robertson, but then he was killed."

"Robertson? As in Jack Robertson?"

Terna turned his head towards the Doctor. "You know him?"

"Not favourably. We don't like each other, especially after siding with the Daleks a few years earlier." The Doctor removed her hand from Terna's shoulder. "However, he hasn't seen me since then, and I haven't seen him. How he acts now when the world is in danger may be different. Call him, and tell him that the Doctor is there."

"Will do."

In the Oval Office, President Robertson was in the middle of a meeting between him and a general named Albrecht. "How's Israel going?" Robertson asked Albrecht.

"Not well." Albrecht replied in exasperation, "Ashkelon was terrorised and captured by Hamas. Some of our soldiers were stationed there and lost their lives defending the city. If word got out, that's a massive PR booboo."

"I say we let it come out and then use it as casus belli to pacify Israel and Palestine once and for a-" The phone on Robertson's desk rang and interrupted him. "Hold that thought." Robertson picked up the phone. "Who's calling?"

"Captain Nathan Teranzo of the New Orleans Police Department." Terna said on the other side of the phone, "I'm requesting help. New Orleans is under attack from an alien threat."

"What alien threat?"

"Daleks."

Robertson sat down in shock: he never thought he would hear of the Daleks again after he managed to spin his betrayal into being the eventual president. "Who's with you?"

"The Doctor."

Robertson lightened up a bit, as while he and the Doctor had left each other on poor terms, he had largely forgave her and took some of her lessons to heart. "Put her on."

"Got it, Mister President."

The call was silent for a few seconds until the Doctor came on the line. "Hello, Jack." she said.

Robertson was confused. "Who's this? I was told that the Doctor's on the other side of this line."

"Well, I've gotten a change of voice since we last met. Still can't get over this accent. That's unimportant for now. What is important is that there are Daleks here and we need your help as soon as possible. I know that we were enemies the last time we saw each other, but if there's one thing I guarantee we mutually despise, it's the end of the world. So, will you send your army along to help us?"

Robertson nodded. "General Albrecht, change of plans. We're going to New Orleans instead to save the world."

"You sure, Mister President?"

"Damn sure."

Albrecht saluted Robertson. "Sir, yes sir." Albrecht got out to prepare the army.

"How long will it take for reinforcements to arrive?"

"A couple of days, but I doubt that they will arrive in time."

"...they may not need to." The Doctor hung up the phone, with Robertson putting his phone down afterwards. He leant forward, wondering how the hell that the Doctor can stop the Dalek threat again.

The Doctor gave the phone back to Terna. "Follow me." she said to the group.

"Ah yes, let's run through the street with five murder machines terrorizing the area." Faith said in a sarcastic manner, "How do you suppose we actually beat them?"

"Davros overlooked one single thing: these Daleks shells were welded, showing that they are made out of steel, meaning that their shell are magnetic. Now, what happens when electronics meet magnets?"

"The internal wiring is damaged as a result of the magnetic field tearing the insides apart." Jessica answered.

"Correct. Now, let's go and get some magnets, and quickly." As the groupgot into Terna's car, with Faith looking slightly annoyed, the Daleks were seen in the distance. "I'm driving!" The Doctor ordered as she got into the driver's seat. Terna handed the Doctor his keys and she began to drive as the Daleks were getting closer.

"Exterminate!" one Dalek yelled as a laser was fired, with the car managing to just avoid it.

The Doctor drove as fast as she could. "Hold on!" she said before making the car turn around and putting the drive into the reverse gear, driving backwards with no issue. "See those eyestalks, Detectives?"

"Yes." Faith replied.

"Shoot them. That will blind them."

"You know, I feel extremely left out of this whole thing!" Khaldun complained.

"Not your fault nor mine! Neither of us could have predicted killer machines on this particular trip!"

Faith and Terna said at the Daleks, who were catching up fast. One Dalek ended up being shot right in the eyestalk's lens, breaking the camera inside. "Vision compromised!" it yelled, "Flying blind!"

"Then you are worthless!" another Dalek yelled before exterminating the blinded one, still focused on the Doctor and the car she drove.

"Why the hell did they blow up one of their kind?" Faith asked while she continued to shoot at the Daleks.

"Because they may have seen that the one that was blinded was weak, so they destroyed it." Khaldun replied.

"For someone born in the Fourteenth Century, you managed to hit the nail in the head." the Doctor remarked, "Nice one, Abdurahman."

"Thank you, Doctor."

"Thank me later. Now," The Doctor turned the car around to go into a detour to confuse the Daleks. "let's get some magnets."

Meanwhile in the air, the Daleks had lost sight of the car that the Doctor was in. "Change course!" one Dalek commanded, "Move south instead of southeast!" The squadron did as that Dalek said and moved south.

By the time that the group got to the mall, the Daleks ended up being there, waiting for them before the group were then encircled.

"You are surrounded!" one Dalek yelled.

"Hey Doctor," Jessica said, "can't you use your screwdriver?"

"The texture of the steel is too rugged." the Doctor replied, "They're soundproof."

"...and thus the screwdriver is useless against them."

"All social interaction will cease!" The Daleks put forward their arms towards the car. "Surrender or be exterminated!"

The Doctor got out of the car with her hands up. "Alright, alright. You win. For once. I mean, you're all going to exterminate us and enslave humanity to make a new Dalek Empire anyway, or should I say Numah?"

"Silence, human!"

"Human? Oh no no no, you got me all wrong. I know that you four in particular haven't even heard of me. That's fine. I'm just as much of an alien as the man who transformed you into murderous pepper pots."

"Your insults will cease right this moment!"

"Don't worry, I haven't actually insulted you. In fact, I applaud all of your efforts. You recognised what your shells are made out of and beat us to the nearest place that has magnets for sale. Glad to see the human trait of deduction is still there within you. Although..." The Doctor reached intoget satchel and brought out a mango-sized capsule. "Here's a small gift for you. Catch!"

The Doctor the the capsule and it was caught by the Dalek. "What is this?"

"Something I usually can't access unless I have this." The Doctor brought out her sonic screwdriver.

"That looks ineffective!"

"It is ineffective. Well, on you. This works using condensed sound waves, so when a soundproof texture is applied, the best thing this screwdriver can be used for is to interact with objects around the soundproof one, like that EMP." The Doctor used the screwdriver to activate the electromagnetic pulse device, causing it to emit said pulse and disabling the Daleks, if only temporarily. "All this time to shoot me and they let me activate it."

"Excuse me, what the hell?!" Terna yelled, "You didn't tell us you had an EMP device on you!"

"I would have been unable to pull off my trick. Besides, I think Faith saw through me. Now, let's sort these Daleks out."

"I know how to sort them out." Terna pulled out his gun. "Remove the tops and let me shoot them."

"No."

"These monsters caused the genocide of my people. This is-"

"Completely irrational." The Doctor was walking closer to the barrel of the gun. "These are not the same Daleks that culled the Kaleds, they're humans forced to bend to Davros' will." The Doctor ended up having the barrel point blank on her neck. "I know what it's like to take vengeance on a race that had tormented me. I still hear the screams of all the species I had eradicated by my own hand every night as an albatross on my neck. So please, Terna, put the gun down."

Terna had lowered his gun. The Doctor would then take the top off of one of the Daleks and saw the mutant inside. It looked at the Doctor and Terna, with the rest of the group joining the duo. "That is what is inside a Dalek?" Faith asked.

"Yes." the Doctor said, still staring at the mutant. "A being forced to hate everything deemed impure by its creator. Ironic. Seeing someone as vulnerable as that under this almighty weaponry saddens me. These aren't the Daleks I had to prevent multiple invasions from. These are abductees." The mutant ended up shedding a tear. "Poor thing." The Doctor put the Dalek's top back on just as the machinery was starting to work again.

"You will perish!" one Dalek yelled as the quartet put their arms out ready to kill the group. "We will exterminate you all and take over this plan-"

"Exterminate!" the Dalek the Doctor talked to yelled before killing the rest of its squadron. The group were surprised... well, all except for the Doctor, who saw the remorse in the Dalek's body language. As much that could be shown in the shell, at least. The Dalek flew back down to the ground and looked into the Doctor's eyes. "Is what you said true?"

"Yes." the Doctor said solemnly.

The Dalek looked at its hands and pointed them at itself. "Exterminate." it said before the lasers it order out destroyed it. The Doctor, usually unsympathetic towards the Daleks, fell to her knees before saying "There should have been another way. I'm sorry."

"Don't be." Jessica replied, putting her hand on the Doctor's shoulder, "If what you said about the Daleks was true, your words stopped the apocalypse."

"You are right. Come on, Jessica. Let's return to the TARDIS."

Terna drove the group back to the TARDIS, under the directions the Doctor gave him. They all ended up in front of said TARDIS. "The police force is completely devastated." Terna said, "Rebuilding it will be an arduous task, especially given the low amount of trust the public has in us."

"Then it is an opportunity for you to remake the department in a more charitable image." the Doctor replied, "Sorry for bringing this onto you both."

"No need to apologize. They may have not been the same Daleks that ruined my life, but I still feel like my people were avenged." Terna turned to Faith. "Sorry for keeping my alien origin a secret from you."

"Honestly, I'm more impressed that you kept it under wraps for so long." Faith answered, "I guess my skills have its limits when dealing with alien emotions."

"Because for all intensive purposes, my name is still Nathan Teranzo, not Terna."

"Besides, I'm an alien, and you saw through my trick immediately."

"Captain, permission for a private word with the Doctor?"

"Granted."

"Let's talk, then."

The Doctor and Faith went behind the TARDIS. "I want to tell you something, Doctor. Something that would usually get me ostracized."

"And that would be?"

Faith brought out a small sunflower badge, an indicator of a hidden disability. "I'm autistic. I really hate lies and struggle socially, but I want to thank you for helping me to come out of my shell a little bit."

"And the face-reading?"

"Something I trained majorly towards in order to overcome my face blindness."

The Doctor decided to hug Faith much to the latter's confusion. "Have a great life."

"Umm... Thanks for the wishes?"

"Now, let's get back to the front."

The Doctor let go of Faith and they both went back to the front. "I guess it's time for us to say goodbye." Faith said to the Doctor, Jessica, and Khaldun.

"And hopefully I don't have to be here ever again." the Doctor replied, "Farewell, Detective."

"Farewell, Doctor."

The Doctor, Jessica, and Khaldun all went back into the TARDIS, it dematerialising afterwards. Terna stood beside Faith. "So," he said, "shall we regular the force?"

"Yes," Faith answered, "but not before you tell me everything about your life on your home planet."

Terna smiled. "I'll tell you on the way to the station." They both get into Terna's car and drove off, all the way to the station.

At the police station, Terna, now Chief of the New Orleans Police Department, was on the podium next to a tarped statue, with now Executive Assistant Faith beside him. "We are here today to honor a woman who has saved the world and served as an inspiration for the new vision of the NOPD." Terna said to a large audience, which included many new recruits to the force, "While the department has been devastated, let this statue be the symbol of hope and rebirth that the badge should stand for. Yes, there are corrupt cops in this country, but I will do my damnedest to ensure that no inkling of corruption enters my department." He turned to Faith. "EA Moreau, the tarp."

Faith nodded and removed the tarp to reveal the statue: a bronze sculpture of the Doctor standing in front of the TARDIS, with a plate at its base reading "To ask those who died on April 6th, 2027. May they never be forgotten." The crowd applauded, and the statue still stands to this very day. Terna looked at the statue and could only say three words.

"Thank you, Doctor."
