Chapter 2: Kiko Joined a Club?
The morning sun gently streamed through Kiko's bedroom window, waking her up to a new day filled with mysteries waiting to be unraveled. As she took a refreshing shower, her mind drifted back to the peculiar events of the previous day—the buzzing noise, the golden-eyed boy, and the enigmatic phone call her parents had received, all of it feeling strangely intertwined.
After dressing in her school uniform, she joined her parents in the kitchen, assisting them with breakfast and bentos for the day. Their cheerful chatter about school life made Kiko smile, but she couldn't bring herself to mention the conversation from the previous night. The thought of someone informing her parents that she joined a music club left her puzzled, as she had never shown interest in such activities before.
Finishing her meal, her parents handed her a note with the room number of her supposed club, Music Room 3. This note, scribbled down from the phone call they received, added to Kiko's confusion, but she couldn't help feeling intrigued by the room's name, making her think "I wonder why Music Room 3 sounds so familiar..?"
Kiko decided not to dwell on her thoughts to long and head on over to school. double checking to make sure she had everything she needed, she shouts to her parents on the way out "Bye mom! Bye dad! ill see you guys later! Love you!!" and proceeds to rush out.
Once she arrived at school, the reception from her classmates was more positive compared to the previous day's laughter and giggling, but it still left her feeling slightly uneasy. Students from class 1-D approached her, discussing possible fanart she could create for her club, which only deepened her puzzlement. She couldn't help but think "Fanart? but why would a Music club require fanart?"
They claim that she had joined a host club instead of a music club like her parents initially assumed, but truthfully it all seemed like some sort of mix-up, and Kiko was determined to get to the bottom of it.
During lunchtime, aiming for a stress-free moment, Kiko decided to stay in the classroom, not wanting to risk being tardy again. As she mindlessly doodled in her sketchbook, thoughts of the stunning honey-brown eyes that had captivated her mind resurfaced.
"i've never seen such a shade of brown like that before... I - I kind of want to see them again." Kiko mindlessly thought before glancing down at her quick lunch sketch.
She found herself sketching a rough representation of her classroom, with the beautiful honey-brown color smeared all over in varying tones. Feeling slightly embarrassed, she quickly packed her art supplies and bento box, trying to distract herself as the school bell chimed, letting them know lunch was over.
As the teacher resumed her lecturing, Kilo couldn't help but have her mind drift as her teachers words slowly becomes background buzzing. The mystery surrounding the host club, the phone call, and the golden-eyed boy continued to weigh on Kiko's mind, leaving her yearning for answers. these questions began swirling violently inside her head creating a web of outrageous ideas, leaving Kiko to do the one thing she does best, pour out these odd feelings and emotions onto an unsuspecting page, ready to become a masterpiece.
As the school day finally ended, Kiko was blocked by two identical twins who seemed to know her name and were eager to take her to this mysterious Music Room 3. They introduced themselves as the Hitachiin twins, Hikaru and Kaoru, but Kiko's ability to focus wasn't very high, especially when being dragged to a location. To her amazement, the room was a perfect representation of extravagance with beautiful chandeliers and what seemed to be an abundance of roses.
Off to the side was a beautiful artist's nook, with high-end painting supplies and an easel set up. plush seats and sofas, with intricately designed blankets lining the seats, clearly begging for her to take a seat and continue the artwork from yesterday that had been left there, now that she recalls.
Before she could even begin to make her way to this sanctuary she was intercepted."Ah welcome, you're a bit late but let's get you situated. Oh where are my manners, I am Ootori Kyoya the vice president."
As this boy points around introducing the rest of the members of this club, Kiko cannot help herself to pay extremely limited attention as the nook continues to call out to her. The buzzing sound of talking ended pretty quickly allowing her to introduce herself while quickly walking over to the art station.
"yes..yes um I am Kaneko Kiko, Class 1-D nice...nice to meet you?" she mumbles out with minimal effort as she begins to examine the space with her half finished artwork lying on the easel begging her to get to work on it.
The dark-haired boy with deep eyes, revealed that he had prepared the space for her, leaving Kiko touched by his thoughtful gesture. She felt inclined to asked him for his name, feeling that she truly won't forget this time. Kiko glances up at the dark haired boy waiting for a response, clearly already forgetting his prior introduction moments ago.
"Hmm I am Ootori Kyoya the vice president of the club..." He hummed out, slightly surprised she had already forgotten his introduction. With a beaming smile Kiko shoots her hands forward and shakes his hand "thank you! oh thank you! its beautiful! oh look at this..."
She runs her hands through the warm blankets that implore her to get tangled into them, running her fingers over the expensive artist grade supplies that just send a jolt of excitement throughout her body. Kiko couldn't help but think "These blankets feel so warm and comforting, and the art supplies are top-notch. I haven't felt this happy and grateful in a long time."
With that thought in mind she determined that she had to repay his generosity so she glances back at him.
"Ootori-san... I'm very grateful! tomorrow! will you be here tomorrow? I'll bring a gift as thanks" she exclaimed, unable to contain her happiness as she smiles brightly. He blankly stares at her as he nods in her direction, not to sure of how to respond.
happily she spins back towards her newly gifted art station, momentarily forgetting her previous anxiety with being part of an unknown club, instead she settles into a rush of new emotions. Happiness, Excitement, and gratitude, already wondering if she could somehow incorporate these feelings into her half finish artwork from the day prior.
As she resumed her work on the painting, preparing to finish it, Kyoya informed her that their guests would likely join her throughout club time as they found her artwork captivating. Before even getting the chance to ask what the club even does, she was approached by a familiar looking figure.
The honey-brown-eyed boy from yesterday, whose name she had already forgotten, approached her with cake and tea, just as he did before. This time, he had strawberry cake, her favorite! Kiko's heart couldn't help but swell with gratitude as she finds solace in his eyes.
She thanked him and introduced herself again, not realizing she had already done so. As she painted, she plotted how to commemorate Kyoya's kindness into an art piece, since she realized that he had now become part of her world of colors.
The day unfolded with newfound comfort and warmth, as Kiko prepared to finish her painting, capturing the essence of the host club's generosity and the meaningful connection she was forming with its members.
With that noted, it seems like the Host Club is officially open for business!
