"Aren't you guys supposed to be spies?" Candace asked, walking back into the house with a few bags, some from mall stores.
"Yeah, but Ferb and I wanted to wear detective suits," Phineas replied.
"Why?" Candace questioned.
"We just thought they looked cool," Phineas stated. "We made you one." Phineas held up Candace's suit. "We tried to make it match your clothes style as much as possible. It's a little hard on detective clothes."
Candace stared at it. "You made me one?"
"Of course we did! We wouldn't leave you out of it!"
"That is so nice of you!" Candace put her bags on the kitchen counter and accepted the pair of clothes from her brother. "Why don't you go put it on?" Phineas suggested. "We want to see if it fits."
Candace smiled and walked into her bedroom, taking her shopping bags with her. She came out a few minutes later wearing the red colored outfit. "I think it fits rather well!" Candace said, placing the hat on her head.
"That's great! Let me go tell Ferb!"
"Where is Ferb?" Candace asked, looking up from her outfit.
"He's in town, trying to find a case to solve."
"Oh. Well, good luck!"
"You're free to join us, Candace!" Phineas said, walking out the door. "Come on, Perry!"
Perry began following Phineas. Before long, they had caught up with Ferb. "Any cases yet, Ferb?" Phineas asked.
"There was one. Some lady had lost her purse. I told her to check in her closet and she found it," Ferb replied.
"That's one!" Phineas said, marking it on a paper. "Who's next?"
"Jeremy," Ferb said.
"Jeremy?" Candace asked, suddenly behind Phineas and Perry.
"Seems like it!" Phineas said. He knocked on the door. "Just a minute!" Jeremy called from inside.
Phineas, Ferb, Candace and Perry all waited until he opened the door. Candace was dusting off her clothes as he did so. "Oh, hey, Phineas. Ferb. Perry. Hey, Candace!" Jeremy greeted.
"Hi, Jeremy," Candace said, waving awkwardly.
"What's up?" Jeremy asked.
"Ferb and I are going around trying to see if there are any cases to solve," Phineas stated. "Do you have one?"
"Actually, I do. I lost my phone. And now that I think about it, I haven't seen the pliers anywhere either. I was actually trying to find them when you knocked."
"Is it okay if we investigate?" Phineas asked.
"Yeah, come in!" Jeremy said, opening the door and moving aside. They entered the door way. "Uh, does Susy happen to be home right now?" Candace asked while Jeremy closed the door.
"No, it's just me. She's out with mom," Jeremy explained.
"Oh, phew!" Candace sighed.
"Do you know where you last saw your phone and pliers?" Phineas asked, flipping the paper on his clip board.
"Well, my phone was charging in my bedroom last night and then when I went to get some breakfast, I had put it on the table," Jeremy remembered, "when I came back for it, it was gone."
"Hmm, that's an interesting predicament," Phineas said, tapping the pencil's eraser on his chin. "Ferb and I will investigate the kitchen. Candace, do you want to tackle his bedroom?"
"Yeah, sure!" Candace exclaimed.
"This way, Candace," Jeremy said, leading Candace down the hall. He stopped at a door with a sign on it that reads 'Jeremy Johnson.' "Here we are!" He opened the door.
His room is neatly organized, but not to the point of irritation. His blinds are open, and his bed is quickly made. There are a few things on the floor. "Sorry about the mess. I was trying to find my phone."
"You don't happen to have work today, do you?" Candace asked.
"No, just tomorrow."
"That's gives me time to search your bedroom..." she stopped, "...for your phone," Candace said slowly.
"Oh, you're right!" Jeremy said. "Looks like you're already being a detective, Candace!"
Perry followed Phineas and Ferb into the kitchen. "Ferb, you check that side. I'll check the right," Phineas instructed. Ferb gave a thumbs up in reply and went to the left side of the kitchen. Perry followed Phineas in the kitchen.
Perry checked under the table. Perhaps, this case is tied in with his? Maybe if he could find a clue...
"Hey, Ferb! Check this out!" Phineas called. Both Perry and Ferb joined Phineas above the table. One chair is pulled out. Ferb took a picture of the scene. "Look at this," Phineas said, pointing at a small drop of yellow paint on the table. "Does Jeremy paint?" Phineas asked. Ferb followed with a picture of the paint.
Jeremy and Candace joined the boys in the kitchen. "Find anything?" Phineas asked.
"Nothing," Candace said.
"Except for this broken charger," Jeremy said, holding up the cord. The black cord is snapped in two, seemingly on purpose. "Hmm, strange," Phineas said. Ferb took a picture of that too. "We found a pulled out chair and a drop of yellow paint on the table. Do you paint, Jeremy?"
"I don't paint but Susy does. Although she hasn't brought out her painting set in a few days. Last she had it out was on Tuesday."
"Three days ago," Phineas said. He started writing on the paper. "Did you pull out this chair for breakfast?" Phineas checked.
"I did, but that wasn't until after I noticed my phone was missing. Once I finished breakfast, I pushed the chair in. I went to clean my plate and that's when I noticed my phone was gone. Although I didn't notice the chair was pulled out," Jeremy explained.
"Quite the predicament," Phineas said slowly, writing on the paper again.
"What are you doing?" Candace asked.
"Writing down our clues. Ferb is taking pictures of them," Phineas explained. "That's what Bumblebumpter did in those movies."
"Ooh! I love those movies!" Jeremy exclaimed.
"Maybe I should watch them, then," Candace whispered under her breath.
"What was that, Candace?" Jeremy checked.
"Oh, nothing," Candace said, waving a hand.
"What about your pliers?" Phineas asked.
"The pliers are usually in the garage. I was using them yesterday to fix the car. Then I went inside for lunch."
"Did you get the car fixed?" Phineas asked. "Susy is out right now."
"I did manage to get the car fixed. I just had to skin some of the wires," Jeremy explained. "When I came back out from lunch, my bike was all messed up."
"What happened?" Candace asked, worry in her voice.
"Nothing too rash. The wheel chains were cut. I went out to get some new ones and when I came back the pliers were gone. I don't remember putting them away either."
Jeremy led them to the garage. His bike is still broken and the bag of bike chains is sitting next to it, unopened. The garage is dimly lit. The tool shelf has all tools but the hammer, which is on the floor, and the pliers, as Jeremy stated they had gone missing.
"Why is the hammer on the floor?" Candace asked.
"We keep it on the floor. Susy doesn't want it falling off and making a lot of noise. I've tried to tell her it won't fall but she doesn't listen too well," Jeremy replied.
Ferb took a picture of the garage and then the tool shelf. He then walked over to Jeremy's bike and snapped that too. "You haven't put the chains on your bike yet?" Candace asked.
"I need my pliers to get the old ones off," Jeremy said.
"You can borrow ours!" candace suggested.
"That's a great idea!" Phineas said. "Jeremy can fix his bike and if the culprit is stealing pliers then maybe we could discover who it is!"
"Why would they need pliers?" Candace asked.
"Maybe they're trying to fix something but the pliers keep breaking so they need more. Or they are trying to combine a lot of pliers to create one giant plier to fix something really big?"
"Those sound far-fetched," Candace retorted.
"Just a thought," Phineas returned. Phineas then began to investigate the scene. Perry walked to one side of the garage. He looked around. No one was watching. He opened a box. Inside is a small note. He picked it up and put it in his detective's hat.
"Hey, look! A small clump of fur!" Phineas said.
"You don't have any pets, Jeremy!" Candace exclaimed. Ferb took a picture of the brown fur.
"No, I don't."
"What does this fur mean?" Phineas asked. He grabbed a pair of tweezers from his pocket and grabbed the fur, placing it in a bag that Ferb pulled out. Phineas then returned the fur into his pocket. "Do you have an animal thief?" Candace asked.
"An animal probably could've just run through here in a panic," Phineas stated.
"The only time that could've happened was when I went in for lunch. I left the garage door open. Otherwise, it's always closed," Jeremy said.
"Definitely a mystery..." Perry tapped his chin with the pencil again and began to take more notes. "We'll take this fur home and figure out which animal it belongs to," Phineas said. "Let us know if you find any more clues, Jeremy."
"Will do, Phineas! Good luck with the fur!"
"Thank you!" Ferb and Perry followed Phineas out of the garage and back home. "Do you have any wild bunnies that run through sometimes?" Candace asked.
"Not that I know of," Jeremy said. "I don't really see any animals besides pets and birds. Sometimes a few snakes but they don't have fur."
They stood in silence for a minute. "Uh...bye," Candace said before speedwalking out of the garage.
When Perry was alone, he dialed up Monogram. "Ah, Agent P. Good to hear from you again. Did you find any clues?" Perry held up the small note. Monogram squinted at it. "'Come and get me you cretin of an agency!' That's not good, Agent P! Someone's trying to get us out of business and sent you a threat note in the process!"
Perry clicked. "We have to find this culprit! ASAP!" Perry nodded. The communicator died.
