"Peculiar." Namó considered his two daughters, both at Vána's side, fuzzing over the roundness of the Valie's belly.

"Mmh..." Manwë hummed in agreement. "It's really getting noticeable now."

Mellissë was her sister's elder, in the eyes of Eru, but Þossaica was overtaking her in growth. They were looking less and less like twins, as the Maia of the two now looked a few years older, if one judged them at the growth-rate of the Secondborn the others were still taking after.

"I guess since she has more power to gather until she has it all, it's taking her longer?" Varda joined them, star-studded hair following her like a cloud.

"That would be the most likely explanation." The Doomsman tilted his head some.

"Like with the Peredhel." His wife pointed out, offering a drink he considered with some trepidation. "I wonder how bad the difference is going to get?"

"Looking at comparative power-levels between them even after Melkor's involvement, and this difference in growth already...?"

"Mellissë's going to be a child while her sister is full-grown." The Lord of Airs finished his wife's sentence.

"Oh Eru preserve me..." The father of the youngest Valie muttered darkly, to his spouse's chuckles.

The other Valar were suppressing their own amusements more or less successfully at seeing their so unflappable peer this flapped.

"Sorry?" Nienna seemed the only one to pity her brother, tears shimmering in her eyes. It was the universal consensus that much like how Nixëlca would have been Ulmo's if he'd have a partner to get children with - ice with water - and had landed with Manwë and Varda by process of elimination to the next best connection - ice with weather -, Mellissë and Þossaica would have been hers as fellow emotion-creators, only to land with her brother when she proved single for existence. As matters stood now.

"You do not sound particularly grieved over this turn of events, sister." He accused her, taking a deep breath as the pink cloud flitted over. It was a stark contrast, almost more intense than his contrast with Vairë, the ruffled, bright pink girl and her sleek black-robed father. The dark shape of what was formally still Oromë's Maia remained with Vána, dark dress nearly fading into the gloom surrounding her. Like Cilinaril with their head-gems, and Nixëlca with his snow-flurry hair, her power was starting to manifest around her, unless her sister was around her to counter-act it.

"Dad!"

"Yes?" Still, he was ever obliging, leaning forward to bring his head closer to hers.

"It's Thuri!" She beamed widely. "I am sure of it!" By the unsurprised face of Vána at the announcement, the two had already talked about it. The rest of the gathering seemed quite surprised however. "Oh, we must tell Mairon! Can we go tell Mairon!?"

"He would like that, I suspect." Aulë spoke up. "He missed her, he once told me."

"So can we!?" The fluffy small form demanded, clinging to her father's arm. At some point, he would want to learn why she was so attached to him, rather than her mother, who really was a much better fit all around.

"I suppose we can." He conceded, looking up to his other daughter. "Are you joining?"

"I'll stay here." Þossaica, perhaps now the most depressed of Eä 2.0's residents, moved over to Vairë, tucking herself against the pastel-dress of her mother.

"Be back in a bit then."
