Geosenge Town
The group enters Geosenge town and immediately head for the Pokemon Center to get their Pokemon treated. As they waited, they decided to get something to eat in the meantime.
"What's with those Team Flare guys?" asked Kevin.
"Who knows?" replied Nazz.
"Why do they cause trouble?" asked Rolf.
"Do you think we'll run into them later?" asked Jonny.
"I don't know, dude." said Kevin. "We just need to make sure we're ready for them." They finish eating and get their Pokemon back.
"Should we take a tour of Geosenge and see what it's like?" asked Nazz.
"Sure." said Kevin. They leave the Pokemon Center and look around town. But before they could take a few steps, they see a Team Flare member and duck back in front of the Pokemon Center and look around the corner.
"Why is that Team Flare guy here?" asked Jonny.
"We should see what he's up to." said Nazz.
"Good call." said Kevin. "He could be up to no good." They observe the Team Flare member as he looks around.
"Geosenge Town is the town of stones!" the Team Flare member sings out before he starts walking off towards the northwest part of town.
"Should we follow him?" asked Jonny.
"Yeah, we need to make sure he's not gonna cause problems here." said Kevin. They all follow him and soon see him standing near the beginning of a trail. He soon turns around and looks in the group's direction.
"Hear this, pip-squeaks!" said the Team Flare member. "Team Flare is gonna use the stones on Route 10 and a fantastic treasure to make everyone on our team happy!"
"Treasure?" says Jonny with interest in his voice.
"In this world, the ones who have power are the ones who win with flair!" said the Team Flare member before he starts walking down the trail.
"Let's go after him, dudes!" said Kevin as he and the others run down the trail after the Team Flare member. But to their surprise, they soon come to a bunch of rocks that seem to be covering something, and there was no sign of the Team Flare member.
"Hey! Where did he go?" asked Jonny. Everyone looks around and find nothing.
"He couldn't just vanish into thin air like that, could he?" asked Kevin. Rolf goes over to the rocks and puts his ear up to one of them.
"I hear nothing through these rocks." said Rolf.
"Riiiight." said Kevin.
"Maybe there's a secret passage or something here?" suggested Jonny. They all feel around all the rocks, hoping to find a switch of some kind, but they found nothing.
"Where is that guy?" asked Nazz.
"What treasure was he talking about?" asked Rolf.
"I don't know." said Kevin.
"This is peculiar." said Rolf.
"You can say that again." said Jonny.
"Why would I do that?" asked Rolf.
"Forget it, Rolfie boy." said Kevin.
"So, what now, Kevin?" asked Nazz.
"Let's just worry about that guy, later." said Kevin.
"Yeah, I'll bet we'll run into him real soon." said Jonny. Not knowing what else to do, the group decides to continue their adventure. They look around Geosenge for a bit more, taking in the sights; mainly the three tall rock spires that were at the center of town. They also find a couple items like a strange-looking pokeball, and a bag of sand. Out of curiosity, they take the items to the Pokemon Center's PokeMart and ask the clerk about them. They learn that the pokeball was a Timer Ball which chances of capturing a Pokemon increases the longer they battle a Pokemon they wish to capture. The bag of sand was Soft Sand which they learned can increase the power of ground type moves.
"You should give that to your Diggersby, Rolf." said Kevin.
"Yeah, he has plenty of ground type moves." said Jonny.
"Very well." said Rolf before he releases his Diggersby from his pokeball. He then gives him the Soft Sand, and then returns him. They then leave the Pokemon Center and plan their next move.
"So, what now?" asked Jonny.
"Let's just head for the next gym." said Kevin.
"Do you think we'll run into that Team Flare guy?" asked Nazz.
"Maybe." said Kevin. "Let's just get going." They all walk over to the east exit of Geosenge to continue their adventure.
"Lucario! What are you doing?" a female voice calls out. The group turns around and sees a bipedal, blue and black, dog-like Pokemon with long black ears, cream-colored upper torso with a spike sticking out of it, along with on the backs of its hands. Following after it was a girl with blond hair, wearing a white and red skating helmet, top, skirt, and roller skates, and behind the girl was a Pokemon similar to the one she was chasing after. Jonny looks at the girl with a blush on his face, while Kevin pulls out the pokedex and points it at the Pokemon.
"Lucario, the Aura Pokemon and the evolved form of Riolu. By reading the auras of all things, it can tell how others are feeling from over half a mile away." said the pokedex.
"So, Jimmy's Riolu will evolve into this one of these days?" asked Nazz.
"I guess so." said Kevin. The girl and the Lucarios stop in front of the group.
"Hi." said the girl.
"H-Hi." said Jonny, waving at the girl, blushing.
"I've seen you guys on Route 5." said the girl.
"You've seen me, I mean, us?" asked Jonny.
"Yeah." said the girl. "My name's Korrina."
"I'm Kevin." said Kevin.
"I am Rolf." said Rolf.
"My name's Nazz." said Nazz.
"I'm Jenny...Jonny!" said Jonny. The girl now identified as Korrina giggles. One of the Lucarios stepped forward.
"Lucario!" said the Lucario. The girl looks at the Lucario.
"I'm not exactly sure, but I think Lucario wants to battle one of you." said the girl.
"It does?" asked Jonny. He then steps forward. "I'll battle Lucario." Jonny pulls a pokeball out of his pocket while Lucario steps in front of Korrina.
"We'll each use two Pokemon, and just so you know, this won't be an official gym battle." said Korrina.
"Gym battle?" asked Jonny.
"Yes. I'm the Shalour City gym leader." said Korrina, surprising Jonny and the others.
"You're the gym leader?!" asked Jonny. "Cool!"
"Thanks." said Korrina.
"Charmeleon, go!" said Jonny, throwing Charmeleon's pokeball and releasing him. Charmeleon and Lucario face each other. "Charmeleon, Fire Fang!" Charmeleon lunges at Lucario while his mouth was covered in fire and bites onto Lucario's shoulder, dealing super effective damage. Lucario becomes surrounded by fire.
"Looks like Lucario's burned." said Kevin.
"Lucario, Power-Up Punch!" said Korrina. Lucario's fist becomes surrounded by an orange aura and he runs at Charmeleon, punching him across the face, knocking him back. Lucario begins surging with energy and his attack strength increases. Lucario flinches in pain from its burn and loses a bit of stamina.
"Charmeleon, Growl!" said Jonny. Charmeleon lets out a yell and releases soundwaves onto Lucario, weakening its attack strength.
"Metal Sound!" said Korrina. Lucario releases silver sound waves from its palms onto Charmeleon, weakening his special defense. Lucario flinches in pain from its burn.
"Fire Fang again." said Jonny. Charmeleon runs at Lucario and bites its abdomen, dealing super effective damage. Lucario staggers back and falls to the ground with swirly eyes. "Right on, Charmeleon!" Charmeleon does a fist pump. Korrina returns Lucario to its pokeball.
"You did well, Lucario." said Korrina. She puts Lucario's pokeball away and turns to the other Lucario and nods. The other Lucario steps in front of Korrina. "Lucario, Aura Sphere!" Lucario sticks out his right hand and forms a blue ball of energy on it. It launches the ball at Charmeleon and hits him, sending him to the ground. Charmeleon struggles to stay up.
"Fire Fang!" said Jonny. Charmeleon runs at Lucario and bites it, dealing super effective damage.
"Lucario, Power-Up Punch!" said Korrina. Lucario runs at Charmeleon and punches him across the face, knocking him out.
"Charmeleon!" exclaimed Jonny.
"Way to go, Lucario." said Korrina.
"Car!" said Lucario, raising a fist. Jonny returns Charmeleon to his pokeball.
"You were great, Charmeleon." said Jonny. He puts Charmeleon's pokeball away and pulls another pokeball out of his pocket. "Go, Quilladin!" He throws Quilladin's pokeball and releases him. "Use Rock Smash!" Quilladin charges at Lucario while his right hand was glowing white and hits Lucario with it, dealing super effective damage, as well as weakening Lucario's defense.
"Use Power-Up Punch!" said Korrina. Lucario charges at Quilladin with its fist raised.
"Dodge it!" said Jonny. Quilladin jumps to the side and dodges Lucario's punch, surprising Korrina. "Now use another Rock Smash!" Quilladin hits Lucario again, dealing massive damage due to Lucario's defense being weakened by Quilladin's first Rock Smash. Lucario's defense weakens even more.
"Swords Dance!" said Korrina. Lucario closes his eyes and meditates. Glowing blue swords appear around it and its attack strength increases.
"Use Needle Arm!" said Jonny. Quilladin's arm becomes surrounded by a green ball of energy with needles coming out of it. Quilladin charges at Lucario and hits it in the torso, doing a moderate amount of damage due to Lucario's defense being severely weakened. Lucario stumbles back and falls to the ground, unconscious.
"Lucario!" exclaimed Korrina.
"We did it, Quilladin!" said Jonny. Quilladin raises his arms and cheers. Korrina returns Lucario to its pokeball.
"You did well, Lucario." said Korrina. She puts Lucario's pokeball away and walks over to Jonny. "I see why Lucario wanted to battle you. It probably knew you'd be a strong opponent." She gives Jonny pokedollars. Korrina looks at the group. "Do you all plan to challenge my gym when you get to Shalour City?"
"You bet." said Kevin.
"Well if you're just as strong as your friend here, then I better prepare my Pokemon." said Korrina. She then looks at Jonny and holds out her hand. "Good battle by the way." Jonny smiles and shakes Korrina's hand.
"I'll see you all in Shalour City." Korrina says to the group. She turns and skates out of Geosenge City. Jonny looks at the hand Korrina shook and holds it close to his chest, smiling. The others notice Jonny's actions and figure out his deal.
"Looks like someone has a crush." said Nazz in a teasing manner. Jonny was too lost in thought to notice.
"Let's get going, guys." said Kevin, making Jonny come back to reality.
"Yeah, I can't wait to get to Shalour City now!" said Jonny as he runs off.
"Hey, wait up!" said Kevin as he and the others run after him. And so, the group continue their journey. Next stop: Shalour City.
