Deadly Quest
Chapter 3 Sickness

Cuphead, Mugman, and Ms. Chalice were making their way through the woods on Isle One on their quest to hunt the Sorrows down. Mugman was looking at the files Pump Quinn had given them to help figure out where the Sorrows were and where to start their quest. The file Mugman was looking at was about the Head of Physical Disease, Mr. Hector Krank.
Of the trio of heroes, Mugman was the most book smart and had read a good number of books at the local library. Mugman had read about diseases and knew they were connected to dirty places. A good place to start looking for Krank would be by the river, since it was a good place to get dirty with all the mud and bugs.
The trio made their way to the river and came across the riverboat known as the Fly Trap a popular club and restaurant. As they got closer Cuphead and his friends noticed that a lot of the people exiting the boat appeared to be sick. Krank had to be behind the people getting sick and there was a good chance that he was on the boat!
Cuphead charged onto the boat followed by Mugman and Ms. Chalice. They entered the main dining room and saw people eating and enjoying themselves, they also noticed a fair number of mosquitoes flying about. Every time a misquote bit someone they seem to become sick. The trio watched the bugs fly around and saw one fly back towards the kitchen.
"After that bug!" Said Cuphead.
The group chased after the mosquito and into the kitchen. The mosquito flew through the kitchen to another room and Cuphead and the others chased after it into a large storage room that seemed to be some kind of makeshift lab with various jars and test tubes filled with strange liquid. At one end of the room was Krank himself studying a test tube and taking notes in a journal.
Krank was a large crustacean resembling a fiddler crab. His larger claw was made from a cluster of tumor-like growths. Krank had eyestalks covered in tumors. Unlike most crabs, Krank did not have a visible shell or exoskeleton. His back was a wave like sway to it and his legs were small and stubby.
"Stop with the disease making Krank!" Ordered Cuphead.
"Who are you supposed to be?" Asked Krank.
"The names Cuphead and this is my brother Mugman and our friend Ms. Chalice and we've been tasked by Death to stop you and send you back to Death Inc.." Said Cuphead.
"So let me get this straight. I'm a powerful and dangerous being that's causing havoc in the world and Death has sent children to come get me?" Said Krank.
"Yes." Said Mugman.
"Oh that's hilarious! Death really must be losing his edge and has become desperate!" Laughed Krank.
"Hey! We've taken tons of super tough challenges before, so don't underestimate us!" Said Cuphead.
"Yeah!" Said Mugman and Ms. Chalice.
"Yeah I'm not going anywhere, you three our in for a world of pain!" Said Krank as he snapped his big claw.
Krank charged forward snapping his claw at Cuphead and Mugman, who leaped over the crab to avoid getting hit, while firing their energy bullets at him. The Sorrow raced to the other end of the room and began to toss jars and test tubes at the duo, while Ms. Chalice floated above watching the fight. Cuphead and Mugman dodged the thrown jars and continued firing. Krank stopped throwing jars and charged at the duo again snapping his claw. Cuphead dodged, but Mugman got knocked into a wall and let out a cry of pain.
"No one hurts by brother!" Yelled Cuphead before he pointed his head down and unleashed his Energy Beam.
The attack slammed into Krank knocking him into a wall. Krank groaned as he got to his feet, but before he could do anything both Cuphead and Mugman fired upon him with their energy bullets, until Krank collapsed to the ground waving a small white flag.
"Knockout!" Said a voice form above.
"So what do we do now?" Asked Cuphead.
"We throw one of these badges Death gave us." Said Mugman as he pulled out the bag of badges.
Cuphead took a badge out and threw it at Krank. As soon as the badge touched Krank he vanished in a puff of black smoke.
"I wonder where he went?" Asked Cuphead.
"Probably back to Death Inc.." Said Ms. Chalice.
At Death Inc, Krank now found himself in a board room with both his legs and claws wrapped with rubber bands. The Sorrow let out a sad angry sigh as he sat there waiting for Death to come punish him.
"That's one Sorrow down." Said Mugman.
"Alright let's move onto the next one." Said Cuphead.
The brothers and Ms. Chalice continued on with their quest.
