Club 23 - Chapter VII - The (Non) Bowling Saturday

It's Saturday!...but not that Saturday, the group is doing different things. Some exciting, some…well, you be the judge. Let's check on Pocahontas and Quasimodo as they are about to approach the Tree of Life and get set for the festival.

"Thanks again Quasi for coming with me", Pocahontas said to Quasimodo

"No problem, I can use a break from all that carving", he responded

"That's right, I've been meaning to ask how that project is going?"

"Well…it's been…going, that's for sure", she smiled after he said that

"Disney Castle, right?"

"Yep"

"Have you ever thought of making other landmarks around here?"

"Hmm…like what?"

"I don't know…The Tree of Life"

"Maybe…this is the first time in a while I've actually seen it up close"

This is how Quasimodo does most of his carvings, he usually has to have a good idea of what he is doing, so he tries to visit the landmark multiple times if he has nothing to do

Pocahontas picks up their conversation, "Well hopefully, after today you'll have a good idea of what it looks like"

Quasimodo responds, "Sure, probably going to take a break, since this is a huge project I've been working on"

"No worries, take your time, can't wait how the castle turns up?"

"Me too"

The pair continues to walk and walk silently until Pocahontas brings up the conversation about carvings

"When you do make that Tree of Life carving, you're gonna send it to me right?"

"Of course, it will be a little gift" Quasimodo then looks at Pocahontas and smiles, she smiles back. After escaping Quasimodo's gaze, she looks up and gasps

"We're here"

Meanwhile, Phoebus is driving his car to the gym so he could work out with Esmeralda. Esmeralda states that he is going to meet him there. He waits and waits until a car shows up in the parking lot and it's Esmeralda's

"Finally…let's get some gains", he says to himself sporting gym shorts and a tank top

Esmeralda gets out of her car with her water bottle and Phoebus can't believe what he is staring at. Esmeralda walks, flaunting everything she has to offer. She is wearing her usual tank top, which doesn't faze him since she wears it all the time at school, it is the shorts she is wearing. It is like seeing "everything", without seeing "everything", in Phoebus's view, that's an accurate description of how short those shorts are. Phoebus is still fazed but quickly snaps out of it as she inches closer to him

"Wow…", with a nervous tone in his voice, "Your hair is more curly than usual

She gives a raised eyebrow

"Really, my hair is always like this, what's making me feel strange, is you in shorts…again and you sporting a tank top"

"I mean, we are about to work out"

"True…anyway, let's get to stretching"

Phoebus and Esmeralda find a perfect spot to stretch. As they are, Phoebus can't shake the fact of seeing her like this.

"Why am I acting like this, if she wants to wear this to the gym, she can"

During their stretches, she goes and leans over to Phoebus because he looks frozen and starts to laugh a little

"Um…Phoebs, you okay, you literally like a statue right now"

Phoebus then unfreezes after the sound of Esmeralda's voice

"Oh me…um, I'm fine, just really focusing on the stretches, especially on leg day"

"Ok cool, I thought I lost you for a second", she said in a joking manner

The two continue to stretch. Phoebus looks through the front door and notices a guy with curly hair, similar to Esmeralda's walking in and notices that he smiles and all his teeth show. He knows automatically that this is Naveen. Phoebus says to himself

"Well, let the workout begin"

So Pocahontas and Quasimodo are approaching the Tree of Life festival, Esmeralda and Phoebus are about to do a workout, and then Naveen appears out of nowhere. So that leaves Aladdin, Megara, and Flynn…what could they be up to?

"Live!, from Flynn's house…It's the Flynn Rider show!" Flynn said holding a remote as a microphone in his announcer's voice, "With special guests Ali (He points at Aladdin) and Meg (He points at Megara). And now, the moment you've been waiting for, heeeeeeerrrrrreeeeee's Flynn!" He then places the remote back on the stand, and laybacks on the couch. "I don't know man, I'm bored"

"That was quite the spectacle", Aladdin said jokingly

"Why didn't you plan the bowling night for this Saturday?", Megara chimed in

"Well, because Meg, four out of the seven of us had plans"

"Ughh" Megara gives a defeated groan, "I need to pass the time, got some books here?"

"Umm…yeah there should be some on the right from where you are sitting"

Megara grabs a book and reads and sips the coffee that Flynn brewed for her. Flynn then shifts his attention to Aladdin

"So, my man…movies?"

"You know it" Aladdin and Flynn go through his collection of movies and pick out the best one that doesn't seem boring

"I'm going to pop some popcorn in the microwave, you want some?"

"Umm…sure"

The popcorn is made and Aladdin and Flynn pop on a movie and chill

Back to Pocahontas and Quasimodo, they have just arrived at the Tree of Life festival and are taking up all the sites and sounds. It seems like everyone is enjoying life and nature. They have booths and decorations farther than the eye can see. Flowers from everywhere you turn. The stages that represent rock formations…fascinating. It's like the forest grew from the ground and into the city.

"Wow", said Quasimodo as he was still taking it in, "Your right, this is an amazing view, and the Tree itself looks larger than I remember"

"I know, every year I come here, you know, I am still amazed at what they put on", says Pocahontas, "(she sighs), "they put the greatest emphasis on nature and the beauty of it you know"

"I agree, shall we check out some booths?"

"We shall"

Pocahontas and Quasimodo go searching for the best booths, for the best experiences. They stop at one booth and Quasimodo notices a familiar face.

"Belle!, I haven't seen you in a while, how's it been?"

"It's been wonderful," She tells Quasimodo happily, "The bookstore is better than ever"

"That's good, say, what brings you here"

"I'm giving out recommendations of books you can find in the store about what can we do to be environmentally friendly"

"That's great! can't wait to stop by the bookstore, for a nice read"

"Looking forward to seeing you there Quasi, you should probably hear what the next booth has to say too"

Quasi turns his attention to the next booth and notices a girl with red hair

"Wait, Ariel, is that you?"

"Yep, how can I be of service?" says Ariel with a grin on her face

"OMG, Ariel how have you been?", Pocahontas chimes in while giving her a hug across the booth, "It has been so long since I've seen you"

"I know, I wish I can see you more often, I have just been busy with work"

"I know how that can be, so anyway…you're still giving out pamphlets about how we can better our oceans"

"You know it, it's just that I really care about marine life and how we should better treat them"

"Still good that you think that way, keep it up!"

"I will, thanks" Pocahontas gives Ariel another hug and they go their own separate ways. Quasimodo and Pocahontas now walking from Belle's and Ariel's booths and onto the main pathway

"Well, that was nice connecting with some old friends, said Quasimodo

"Yep it sure was", said Pocahontas, "Let's check out some more booths" she continued and he agreed"

Just as Pocahontas said that she notices a tall, blond, with hair down to his neck, close to his shoulders. She stands there stunned. When he turns around, the first thing he does is also stand there stunned. He begins to talk

"Pocahontas", he says under his breath

"John Smith," she says under hers

"Do you need me to be here?" Quasimodo asked

"It's fine Quasi, I can handle it"

Quasimodo goes and checks out other booths. Pocahontas and Smith begin to talk.

"So what brings you here?", Pocahontas says suspiciously

"Want to learn more about the environment, I swear I had no idea you were going to be here", Smith says nervously

"Fair point, but I'm always here"

"I know, why is it that every time we conversate, it has been like this, I hate talking to you this way"

"Well, John, I don't know what else works?"

He freezes, then unfreezes, "I mean we don't have to be so bitter towards each other, like now"

Pocahontas raises an eyebrow

John sighs, "What I'm trying to say is that I know we are not an 'item' anymore, but can we at least be friends

Pocahontas reflects on what he said and gives him a little smirk

"We'll see about that", she walks away and joins back with Quasimodo. John stands there with a little grin of optimism on his face, hoping for the day he can connect with Pocahontas

Back at the gym, Naveen is in and quickly notices Esmeralda and what she is wearing, he also glances at Phoebus who doesn't make eye contact with him. Esmeralda looks up and notices Naveen coming this way.

"Ah Naveen", says Esmeralda smiling, "funny seeing you here"

"You can say that again", Phoebus says in his head

"Well, the same can be said back", said Naveen with his normal smile, that smile that made Esmeralda blush a little. "And if you said I did this on purpose, trust me I come to this gym around this time

"Who said doing anything on purpose?", Phoebus chimed in making Esmeralda smirk a little

"Phoebus, I don't understand why you come here man, have you looked at a mirror, your muscles got muscles man," said Naveen

"Hmm…Flattering, actually Naveen I'm not here for muscles, it's leg day"

"Even better, I love leg day", he says while glancing at Esmeralda's thighs

"Okay, I wasn't planning to make this a three-person workout", said Esmeralda, "But why the hell not"

After she said that they went straight to the workout, with Naveen stretching of course. Throughout the workout, Phoebus was a little distracted by how Esmeralda and Naveen were interacting during the workouts. It was like they were flirting without speaking, trying to look appealing to one another with every squat, lunge, side lunge, side leg raises, plank leg raises, leg raises again, but lying on the side, flutter kicks, and modified scissors. These were some of the workouts that Phoebus could fit in his head at the moment. He was starting to lose focus during the mountain climbers and Esmeralda started to notice, she stopped "talking" with Naveen and moved all her focus to Phoebus.

"Phoebus, don't lose me here, what set are you on?", Esmeralda asks concerned

"I believe…my…fifth", said Phoebus trying to catch his breath

"You're getting tired, it seems, let me do them with you"

"You don't have to do that Esmeralda, please I'm fine"

"Umm…yeah I do, I mean after all I suggested that you I and you do leg day"

Phoebus smiled, which made Esmeralda smile. They finished the workout and worked on their muscles a little bit. After that they cooled off and did little leg workouts, finally, the day was finished and Naveen said bye to the both of them

"Thanks for letting me work out with you guys once again", says Naveen

"No problem", says Phoebus with a smile

"Catch you later Phoebus, see you later gorgeous", Naveen says his goodbyes to both and kisses Esmeralda on the hand. This catches Phoebus off guard and asks Esmeralda the question

"Are you sure you're not dating?" In which she gives him a playful punch

"No, you goofball", Esmeralda laughs and he smiles

"I think today worked out today, no pun intended"

"I think so too"

"My legs, feel like jelly", Esmeralda laughs again and they walk to their cars

"Thanks for today Esme, see you later"

"No problem Phoebs, catch you soon"

They drive off and Phoebus sighs to himself

"So..so..cool"

Back with Aladdin, Megara, and Flynn, they are just eating, reading…well Megara is the only one reading, and watching movies. Aladdin all of a sudden gets a face time from Jasmine.

"Yo, it's Jasmine", Aladdin says to Flynn, "How do I look?"

"I think you'll be fine", says Flynn with full confidence, "go to the kitchen table, it's cool"

Aladdin moves to Flynn's kitchen table to start his conversation with Jasmine, Megara, and Flynn talk

"Flynn, I have been meaning to ask you this" Megara puts the book down

"Shoot", Flynn still eating his popcorn, pausing the movie

"You didn't act like 'Flynn' when Rapunzel showed up with Jasmine the other day"

"What do you mean 'act like Flynn'?"

"I mean it was you…yes, but it was like a more mature version of you, in a sense, what's up with that?"

"Well, we haven't seen each other in a while and wanted to just look impressionable, that's all," he said with confidence

"Alright, don't know how you know the word 'impressionable', but I'll take your word for it"

Megara goes back to reading her book and Flynn presses play on the movie. He now thinks about the question for a little bit and thinks to himself

"Hmm…some moment that was, huh"

To start...my apologies for posting this so late. Anyways...what a Saturday, interesting to see the seven doing their own things with cameos coming in from Ariel and John Smith.
