Lando finally saw the wagon he was supposed to ride on to get to the place where they train you, he has been looking all day for this wagon asking everyone where this address was he found that people here don't really know where anything is he got sent to the wrong location multiple times.

Lando walked up to the wagon driver asking " Is this where you will take people to the 104 Cadet Corps?"

"Yes, it is kid." The driver said " Jeez you're pale have you ever been outside before"

"Nope," Lando replied, "Don't know how you guys put up with that big ball of light in the sky hurts the eyes."

The driver just stared at him with a confused look.

"I'll just get on." Lando says

Lando walked over to the back of the wagon to already see some people in there, he climbs on in and grabs a journal he bought when someone tried to point him in the direction of the address he showed to him. It was a shop with a lot of random junk in there but Lando found a journal while he was there, Kenny had let him have some money too.

Lando started drawing in his journal he had always loved to and did so in his free time the journey also had a pocket as soon as you open it so Lando put in there a red piece of paper folded as much as paper can be folded, as well as two pictures one of Ophelia and Lando and another of his father that he received so long ago.

Lando drew the wagon and everyone inside of it he hoped people wouldn't think he was weird if he looked at them for a bit before drawing but nobody said anything about it or didn't notice. When Lando finished his drawing he looked out the back of the wagon which had a hood over it, he saw the country, the fields, and the way the sun makes them look pretty. Maybe this sun wasn't so bad.

Lando was lost in thought but all of a sudden the wagon stopped and people started getting up and getting off the wagon "Must be here" Lando thought.

Lando got off and followed the other people into a building inside. They were handing out uniforms based on what your height and weight when you signed up is what Lando guessed. Lando stood in line waiting for it. Eventually his turn arrived. He got his uniform and walked over to the male cabin. The kind lady at the desk pointed to where it was.

Lando walked in and saw that there were a couple of people in there already. Lando saw beds all over a lot of them. How many people are going to be here? I don't handle people well. I've only been around 3 people in my lifetime for more than 4 hours. Mom, Auntie Joyce, Kenny."

Lando didn't see any names on any bunks so he picked one in the corner, threw this stuff on it and started changing into his new uniform. After he was done Lando looked around and now there were a lot of people here not good, but Lando needed to know something. He put his fingers underneath the bed and moved it around. He looked at his finger and there was dust. "Unacceptable, this will not do," Lando muttered, he turned around to find a boy with a balding head "Unlucky genetics." Lando thought he had a face that looked at him weirdly before turning into a smile.

"Is this bunk above you open?" the bald boy asked.

"Uh.. yeah i think so? Maybe?" Lando said cursing himself for not being able to communicate properly

"Ok sweet!" The boy said climbing up there

Lando noticed that the boy already had his outfit on. The bald boy must have noticed him staring at him.

"What is your name? I'm Conny" Conny said

"Uh, Lando," Lando replied.

Lando then heard a terrible noise. A shouting man came in yelling at them to get out there and line up, the man was also bald "What is up with all the bald people around here?" Lando thought.

Lando followed everyone out the door. All of the girls were already out there lined up. Lando followed suit and lined up.

"The 104th Cadet Corps class entrance academy will now begin! You have the misfortune of having me, Keith Sadies, as your commandant! I do not welcome you warmly! In your current state, you'd be food for the Titans! You're mere Livestock! You're less than Livestock! Over the next three years, we're going to train you worthless nothings and teach you how to fight Titans! Three years from now, when you come face to face with the Titans, will you still be fodder for them?! Will you serve as an honorable barrier that protects the king?! Or will you be a glorious soldier for humanity that drives the Titans out! It's up to you to decide!" Sadies yelled

"How can one man keep his voice that loud for so long without any water?" Lando thought "He sure does love his speeches. That was one way to tell them they were all going to die."

Sadies then walked up to people and started belittling them, it was good slander too Lando had to admire him but Kenny was worse Lando has seen Kenny literally send heads rolling because he got too mad. Never got on his bad side after that Lando then realized he was getting close to him he walked up to some timid looking blonde girl "Who the hell are you?!" Sadies yelled at the girl.

"Armin Alert from Shiganshina" The girl yelled.

Lando remembered Kenny talking about the fall of Shiganshima after he came back from one of his travels above ground. Lando didn't think much of it because he was busy training for one, and it didn't really matter he was still in the Underground.

"I see that's a ridiculous name! Did your parents give it to you?!" Sadies asked.

"Now that I look that girl is a guy, poor bastard got a girl voice and everything" Lando thought

"My grandfather did, sir!" Armin yelled back.

"Alert, why are you here?!" Sadies asked.

"To help humanity achieve victory!" Armin announces.

"That's wonderful to hear! We can feed you to the Titans!" Sadies yelled at him

Sadies then walked to some Blonde haired boy.

"Who the hell are you?!" Sadies questioned.

"Sir! Thomas Wagner, from Trost district." Thomas says.

"I can't hear you!" Sadies said.

Lando never understood why people said that, maybe Sadies own voice is too loud that his ears are ringing after he yells so he can't hear very well anymore.

Sadies kept that up with Thomas for a while before walking on to some black haired girl.

"What is your name?!" Sadies yelled

"Mina Caroline from-" Mina started to say

"No! You're a pigsty! You're less than livestock!" Sadies yelled at her

"Yes sir! I am less than livestock!" Mina replied

Sadies walked over to some black haired boy and started yelling at him. Lando has mostly ignored it now his mind was occupied about how filthy the cabin is he is going to clean it up the first chance he gets.

Lando then realized that some people weren't getting yelled at! Lucky bastards, why do they get special treatment?

Sadies walked over to a guy "Why did the others get avoided but that guy didn't?" Lando thought.

"Who the hell are you?!" Sadies yelled.

"Jean Kirschtein, from Trost district!" Jean yelled back.

"Why are you here?!" Sadies yelled back.

"To join the Military Police Regiment and live in the interior!" Jean replied.

"Those MPs suck the garrison regiment is better unless you're at the top of the MPs you're nothing with them, Kenny told me that," Lando thought.

"Oh. You wanna live in the interior, do you?" Sadies questioned.

"Yes!" Jean responded.

Sadies then headbutted Jean, sending him to the ground. "Wow this guy might be mentally unstable. Mom told me a bit about psychology." Lando thought.

"Who said you could sit?!" Sadies yelled at Jean who was on the floor.

"If you can't handle this, you can forget about the Military Police!" Sadies said.

Sadies then moved on to the guy right next to Jean.

"Who the hell are you?! Why are you here?!" Sadies yelled.

"Marco Bodt of Jinae, on the south of Wall Rose!" Marco yelled. "I want to join the Military Police and give life and limb to the King!"

"What's up with everyone wanting to join the MPs? I might be a little biased though I did kill a lot of them." Lando thought.

"I see," Sadies said.

That's a fine goal indeed. Go ahead and strive for it!" Sadies said.

"Uh oh rise before the fall." Lando thought

"But just so you know…" Saides said while getting in Marco's face. "The king doesn't want your lousy life or limbs," Sadies said.

"You're next, who are you?!" Sadies said walking over to Conny.

"Guess Conny isn't one of the lucky ones." Lando thought.

"Conny Springer!" He said. "I'm from Ragako Village on the south of Wall Rose!"

Sadies put his hands on Conny's head lifting him off the ground. "Jeez, you didn't need to do that to the poor guy!" Lando thought.

"You have it backwards Conny Springer!" Sadies started. "It was the first thing you were taught! This salute expresses your resolve to give your heart to the people!" "Is your heart on your right side!?"

Lando then heard chewing turned around and saw a girl eating a potato "This girl has got bigger balls than most guys here!" Lando thought.

Sadies saw her and zoned in on her like Titan seeing a human.

"Hey, you." Sadies said walking over to her "What do you think you're doing?" Sadies was now right in her face. "I"m talking to you! Who the hell are you?!"

"Sasha Braus from Dauper Village, on the south side of Wall Rose!" Sasha explained

"Sasha Braus…" Sadies said, staring at her like she was dinner. "What are you holding in your right hand?"

"A steamed potato, Sir!" Sasha said. "I found one in the cookhouse that was ready to eat, so I couldn't help myself!"

"You stole it?" Sadies asked."Why?" "Why did you decide to eat it now?"

"I felt it would be a waste to let it get cold," Sasha said.

Lando had to give it to her; it was solid logic.

"So I elected to eat it now."

"No, I don't understand," Sadies said. 'Why did you eat the potato?"

'Are you asking why people eat potatoes, Sir?" Sasha asked

Now everyone was looking at her like she was insane. Lando almost cracked a smile but he hasn't smiled since he was 8, not after everything that went down.

Shasha then barely split it in half "Here is half of it for you." She said,

"Half…." Sadies said, "You're going to run until the verse of death,and you're going to skip meals!"

"I understand Sir! " She said looking upset

Then Sadies arrived at Lando.

"Damnit, why couldn't I be one of the lucky ones?" Lando thought

Sadies looked him up and down not saying anything like he didn't understand what was in front of him

"Who are you?" Sadies said and to everyone's shock he didn't yell he sounded a little normal

"Lando, from the Underground" Lando said, and now everyone was staring at him "What did I do? Does everyone think I'm weird now or not clean or something?!" Lando thought.

"The Underground eh, why are you here?!" Sadies asked.

"I didn't have a choice," Lando responded.

"So the rat didn't have a choice huh?" Sadies said out loud before walking away.

"That wasn't so bad!" Lando thought but now everyone was staring at him.

"That kid is different. He has already killed people. I can see it in his eyes yelling at him wouldn't do anything." Sadies thought.

Time Skip

Sasha has been running all day so far. Lando was outside the cabin sitting on the stairs drawing the scenery when a bunch of people started talking on the porch.

"Man, she's been at it for five solid hours. She is really something, "a boy with green eyes said. "Still being told to run until she's on the verge of death didn't seem to bother her quite as much as being told she has to skip meals. " Conny said. "Dauper's a small village in the mountains, isn't it?"

The boy with green eyes noticed something on the mountain.

"What's that?" He asked

"They're dropouts. They asked to work in the fields instead. Woah it's only the first day too." Mina says.

"That's how it is. If you can't cut it here, you have to leave." The boy with green eyes said. "I can't believe anyone would want to pick up rocks and pull plants again…"

Lando decided to give his thoughts on the matter.

He cleared his throat causing everyone to look at him "They are not used to this level of beating physically and mentally, some of them can't handle it. When those types of people see a Titan they freeze and are the first to get eaten and might cause some of their comrades to try and save them only to get eaten too." Lando shared.

"When a comrade is about to die and you might be able to do something to stop it even if they freeze up you still have to save them!" Mina said to Lando.

"No I would not save them and if they get in my way I will dispose of them. I'm not risking my life to save someone else due to their mistakes." Lando said.

Everyone looked shocked at what Lando had just said except the boy with green eyes. He just looked at him and gave him a nod to which Lando gave one back. Lando then went inside and let them talk about where they are from.

Later That Night.

Everyone was in the mess hall gathering around Eren listening to what he had to say about the fall of Shiganshima. Lando was in the back of the group.

Lando wasn't really listening; he just wanted to fit in, but Eren started to gag he listened in.

"It's not like that," Eren said "Titans aren't actually that big of a deal! Once we mastered omni directional mobility gear, they'll be nothing to us."

"The pride before the fall" Lando murmured to himself.

"We finally get to train to be soldiers!' Eren says. "I was just overcome with emotion, that's all. I'm going to join the Scout Regiment and drive the Titans out of this world. I'm going to slaughter them!"

Then all of a sudden Lando hears a voice behind him and it was Jean. "Woah, what are you crazy?" Jean asked. " Did you say you're going to join the scout regiment?"

"Yeah that's right," Eren says, looking straight at him. "Aren't you the one who wants to join the Military Police and live the easy life?"

"I'm all about being honest, you see. It's much nicer than a loser who acts tough but is actually scared shitless." Jean says.

"Are you talking about me?!" Eren says getting up.

"It makes no difference to me," Jean says as a bell starts to ring. Lando then ignored what was going on, no fight was going to happen, nothing interesting.

Some girl got Eren and they left, Lando waited around but no one seemed to wanna talk to him which made him a little sad.

Lando was walking around outside when he saw Sasha fly at speeds not human towards a little blonde girl that seemed too nice for her own good, Lando knew those types and how to spot them his mom was one of them.

Lando ignored them and headed to bed he laid down and heard people come inside but he didn't open his eyes he eventually fell asleep.

Lando opens his eyes to be at his family home and sees Auntie Joyce crying in front of him 'Why didn't you save us?" she asked in tears. All of a sudden someone comes out of the darkness and pushes him, he looks and it's his younger self the night of his mom's death. Then his 5 year old self says from behind him "How could you be the only survivor?" Then the front door opened and Levi, his father, walked in throwing something red and wet at him "You useless kid!" He said with hatred in his voice. Lando was then surrounded by everyone he had ever killed, bodies littering his old home's floor. He heard his mother's voice behind him "It should've been you who died" She said in spite Lando was staring at her shaking.

In the boy's cabin, a blood curdling scream was heard waking everyone up. They frantically started looking around for what was wrong only to see Lando still asleep with his arms in the air screaming. Everyone was staring at him while Conny woke him up.

Lando woke up gasping for air while everyone was staring at him.

"You ok dude? Seemed like a hell of a nightmare." Conny told him

Lando looked at all of them before only saying "Sorry…" then walking out of the cabin.

"I wonder what he was dreaming about," Marco asked

"It couldn't be very good, hoping he didn't wake up Keith because if he did we are all going to be in hell tomorrow." a man named Daz said.

"He said he was from the Underground right?" Jean asked out loud.

"Yes he is from the Underground," Armin said.

"Well whatever he did down there, whatever he went through it couldn't have been good," Jean said.

All of a sudden Sadies walked into the room to see everyone awake.

"Why did I hear a scream?!" He demanded

"Lando had a nightmare, started screaming and woke everyone up." Jean said, "Why is he like that, do you know?"

Sadies looked at them before saying " He was a mystery, just a kid from the Underground, no clue how he signed up but he did, maybe to get out of that life or something else. I saw his eyes today. Those were the eyes of someone who has killed, taken a life. No his eyes were saying he has taken many lives and isn't afraid to take more." he said before walking out

Leaving everyone shocked, but eventually, they all went to sleep thinking about the mystery of Lando.

I just started watching the Great Pretender. I love the art style in it.
