Kera:

Seeing Kakarrot's power in action was truly impressive. He had already transformed into the Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan during their training with Beerus and Whis and they had fought each other, but it was something else when he was fighting to the death.

"Looks pretty good, doesn't it?" Kera turned to Vegeta, who was watching the fight with his arms crossed. She had positioned herself with him slightly off to one side.

Vegeta growled. "This is just taking too long for me. He always takes the credit. He should have let one of us fight earlier."

"You're just too impatient."

"No. Fed up with that creep Frieza. He's threatening our home ... and our family."

"At least Whis said he'd protect Bulma as long as she gave him food."

Vegeta gave a short snide laugh.

"You don't have to think the worst," she admonished her brother. Kakarrot had fought well and managed to get Frieza now kneeling on the ground breathing heavily. Slowly Kakarrot strode towards him. Kera's fingers itched. How she would love to give Frieza the final blow. She wondered at herself for begrudging Kakarrot this final act.

"Kakarrot is too quick to let his guard down. Whis has told him that so many times and he just doesn't seem to learn."

"Why? It all seems ..."

She saw a beam of light out of the corner of her eye. It was coming from near Frieza's spaceship, which had been parked between a cluster of rocks, making it hard to see. Kera saw a smile part Frieza's lips. Then Kakarrot's scream shattered the waiting silence and he fell to the ground.

Vegeta growled and pushed himself off the ground. Kera immediately followed. As Vegeta raced towards the spaceship from where the shot had come, Kera ran to Kakarrot. Running, she formed an energy ball in her hand and fired it at Frieza, who was thrown several yards backwards. It certainly hadn't killed him, but what mattered to Kera now was Kakarrot's safety. Slithering, she came to a stop at the same time as Vegeta next to Kakarrot.

"There was one soldier left from Frieza's army. He is now terminated."

"Thank you," Kera said, kneeling down to Kakarrot. Carefully, she tore his battle gear to get a better look at the wound. Or rather, the hole in his chest. It reminded her painfully of the injury Frieza had inflicted on Vegeta back on Namek, from which he had died only moments later.

"Kakarrot, have you finally understood what Whis is always saying to you? You let your guard down too quickly." Vegeta was angry as he spoke the words, but Kera was sure she could also hear some concern coming out.

Kakarrot lifted one corner of his mouth with a pained expression. "Yes, I guess he was right about that." He coughed.

"We don't have time for that now. Krillin has another bean. You'll be as good as new in no time." She looked up at Vegeta. "Now it's my turn to fight Frieza."

"Do you have to?"

"Let her. She hasn't even fought yet today," Kakarrot brought out with difficulty.

Gratefully, Kera smiled at her half-brother. One could attribute many qualities to Kakarrot. A sense of justice was definitely one of them.

"What if we fight together?" It was a risky question, she knew. Vegeta was a lone fighter. But she also knew that they both had the right to defeat Frieza. He had tortured them both.

Vegeta seemed to weigh her question as he took Kakarrot's legs and, with their help, carried him to Krillin, Bulma and Whis, who had been holding out on a small plateau throughout the fight.

"Hey, old friend." Krillin immediately bent down to Kakarrot to give him the Senzu Bean.

Kera and Vegeta straightened up. Kera looked firmly into her brother's eyes, waiting for an answer. They didn't have forever. Frieza would surely have recovered enough to attack again in a moment.

Vegeta looked grimly at the ground, clearly wrestling with himself and his principles. Then, finally, he nodded slowly. "All right. Together."

Smiling, Kera held out a hand for him to strike, which he did promptly. "As Super Saiyan Blue?"

"What's that?" asked Kakarrot, who had already recovered thanks to the Senzu Bean and was standing next to them.

"Well, the Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan. That was so bulky anyway."

"Super Saiyan Blue pleases me." Vegeta let go of her hand and took a step backwards. He spring to his knees, tensed all his muscles and let out a scream. A field of energy swirled around him. First in white, then in yellow, it finally changed to red and then to blue. Vegeta's hair and eye colour were now just as blue as the energy swirling around him.

Krillin looked at Vegeta with wide eyes. "How, what? He can do that too?"

Kera grinned at Kakarrot's oldest friend. "And so can I."

She focused on the blue energy inside her. She had learned how to call up Super Saiyan Blue energy as quickly as possible in that strange room Whis had locked her in for training. She closed her eyes and thrust her hands forward, feeling the energy spread across her palms. She let the energy flow freely. It settled over her arms and travelled down her back to her legs to the tips of her toes.

Finally, she placed her shimmering blue hands to the right and left of her head and then slowly stroked down her hair. When she heard the surprised intake of breath from the others, she opened her eyes again.

"Okay, you get the prize for the most beautiful transformation," Kakarrot said, holding out his fist for her to strike. She tapped her fist against his, then held her fist out to Vegeta.

"Let's take this asshole down together, okay?"

"You betcha."

Vegeta hit, then turned to Frieza.

Vegeta:

"Have you noticed that he's used up a lot of his power already?"

Kera looked stubbornly ahead as she spoke and she walked slowly at Vegeta's side towards Frieza, who had just risen from the pile of rubble Kera had catapulted him into and was looking grimly over at them.

"He hasn't had that golden form long, I suspect. That's why he's not so good with it."

"Are you going to fight me in pairs now because you are too weak individually? Pathetic!"

With a yelp, he threw a red ball of energy at Vegeta, who only casually waved his arm to the side, deflecting the energy. He briefly saw the look of surprise flit across Frieza's face before he let balls of energy form in both hands, launching them at Kera and Vegeta.

Just as easily as the first time, Vegeta deflected the ball. Kera performed the same move. With a grin he looked over at her for a moment and saw the desire to fight flare up in her eyes. Even though they had been living family life on Earth for years now, fighting was something that came naturally to them. Their blood sang for it, wanted more. They used to do it to destroy, now they did it to protect. Vegeta couldn't help but notice that it felt even better.

More balls of energy came flying at them, wiping them away as if they were annoying flies. Vegeta felt the energy flying towards him and let his arm act almost on its own. It felt light.

Frieza had switched to continuous fire now and more and more panic crept into his features while Kera and Vegeta got closer and closer to their opponent until they stopped only two steps away from Frieza and he irritatedly stopped his fire and took a step backwards, unsure.

"Well, Frieza, are your knees shaking?"

Frieza clicked his tongue. "As to be expected from you, Vegeta with the big mouth!"

Vegeta didn't address Frieza's statement, but closed the distance between them within a wink and punched the Golden One in the middle of the face. Frieza staggered backwards two steps, caught himself and lunged to counter-attack. Vegeta dodged his fists and punched him in the pit of the stomach, knocking Frieza back.

Kera was already behind Frieza and kicked him in the back, sending him back in Vegeta's direction. Frieza spun in the air with the presence of mind and now in turn tried to hit Vegeta with a kick, but Vegeta blocked it with his forearm.

Frieza gasped in pain and fell to the ground.

"Give up, Frieza. You're exhausted and you don't stand a chance against us."

With difficulty, Frieza raised his head. "I will not lose to you!"

With a yell, he jumped up and tried to ram his knee into Vegeta's face, but again Vegeta blocked him. Frieza flew to the side where Kera was already standing and launched him into the air with a kick. Vegeta had taken the opportunity and jumped upwards. As Frieza reached his height, Vegeta brought his clenched fists down on him. Frieza crashed back to the ground, into which he sank several inches and lay dazed.

Vegeta landed next to Kera, who looked at the pile of misery at her feet. Like him, she had never once used energy balls or the like, fighting only with her hands and feet. Like him, she wanted to feel Frieza's defeat, up close, no distance between them. Defeating him from a distance wouldn't feel right. They now had the chance to finally get back at him.

Frieza straightened up, swaying. Slowly, he got to his feet. He took another swing, but then he suddenly lost his golden colour and was now white again.

Even surprised at this, he looked down at himself, lost his footing and went down on his knees. He tried to take another step forward, but then he sank back down on all fours.

"This can't be happening," he muttered as he held his head as if he didn't want to admit what had just happened. "I'm not losing to Kera and Vegeta!"

Slowly, Vegeta raised a hand and let energy build in his palm. "Together?" he asked in a whisper.

Kera looked at her brother and smiled. She placed her left hand on his outstretched arm and let energy flow over to him, enlarging the ball of energy in his hand.

"Your era is over, Frieza," Kera said, looking down coldly at the being that had tormented her for years.

"No one will be able to revive you now," Vegeta added in an equally emotionless voice.

A tremor ran through Frieza's body as he straightened his head and looked at her with eyes blazing with anger. A smirk flitted across his lips. "The same goes for you."

Startled, Vegeta and Kera drew in a breath. What on earth was Frieza up to?

A red glow formed under Frieza's hands, which he had lying on the ground. Vegeta felt a shock wave under his feet. Countless cracks formed in the ground, from which a hot liquid shot up. Vegeta and Kera tried to dodge, but something hit him in the side. He yelled out in pain, tried to break his fall, heard Kera call his name and then yelled out in pain herself. Then blackness enveloped him.
