If the last months had shown Beth anything it was that everything always was and nothing ever was as it seemed. Snow of course always had a plan, it was just a question of when it benefitted him to let other people in on it. Keeping things hidden from him on the other hand was never an option. At the very least that made otherwise boring meetings and dinners far more interesting.

There's but one problem with the Victor's mask. For it to work, the victor must have two essential things; haunting vivid memories and loved ones they would trade their lives to protect. One without the other is to no use. So when Olive Navin Cresta survives the 69th Hunger Games with no recollection of her time in the Arena, the mask gets destroyed before it's even placed.
