The dust was starting to settle, the war was finally over. Harry had done it. He had killed Lord Voldemort. His death eaters where being rounded up and sent to Azkaban. There was a massive feast in the great hall. Every kind of food was being served and all the butter-beer you could drink. Professor Mcgonagall led a toast to Harry who finally had did it he finally killed Lord Voldemort. The hall roared to life with this action. Harry ears felt like they were going to burst. It had been a very long time since any of the Hogwarts students had been this happy. Harry saw Luna Lovegood staring at him from the Ravenclaw table. When Harry noticed her she quickly looked away seemingly embarrassed at being caught. However it wasn't all fun and games. Before the feast ended Professor Mcgonagall gave one last speech. A speech to honor all of the wonderful Witches and Wizards that had been lost in the war. After the celebratory feast Harry sat alone outside his back up against the moss covered walls of the castle. His mind was racing with the thoughts of all the friends he had lost in the fight. He couldn't believe Lupin was dead, he had been like an uncle to them. Then there was his wife Tonks. She had been lost in the fight as well. Then it hit him. They had just had a son. The though made Harry sick to his stomach. Poor baby Teddy was going to grow up without his mom and dad just like he had. As these thoughts whirled around in Harry's head he could heard footsteps growing louder. He looked up and saw Luna Love-good approaching him. Without saying a word she sat down right next to him. They sat in Awkward silence for a moment before Luna spoke.
"Ghastly business huh. So many brave souls were lost." Luna said.
"Yeah. I cant stop thinking about them." Harry added.
"Whats gonna happen to Lupin and Tonks son?" Luna asked.
"Before Remus died he asked me to be Teddies Godfather, so I guess I..." Harry paused.
"Oh Harry, Are you really gonna raise him? You're still so young." Luna said as she looked into Harry's eyes.
"Don't have much choice really. He doesn't have anyone else left. I have to. For Lupin." Harry replied.
"What are you gonna do for a job?" Asked Luna.
"Kingsley actually talked to me at the feast. He's been appointed Minister of magic and he wants me to start my training as an Auror." Harry said.
"Oh that's wonderful Harry!" Luna said. "But you'll be so busy. If you need help taking care of Teddy just let me know."
Harry looked over at Luna. She quickly looked away and started blushing. In this moment Harry wanted to tell Luna how he felt, but was this really the right time? Luckily for Harry he didn't have to make the first move as Luna rested her head on Harry's shoulder. Harry put his arm around her and ran his fingers through her long blonde hair.
"I'm glad you're alright Harry." Luna said.
"So, what are you gonna do after Hogwarts?" Harry asked.
"Oh I dunno. Daddy wants me to write for the Quibbler." Luna said. "But I think I want to do something with magical creatures. I really want to write my own bestiary. Just think of how many undiscovered magical beasts there are out there waiting to be found."
Harry and Luna sat there until the sun went down. Moonlight made Luna's eyes sparkle like Harry had never seen before. Hours passed by. Harry and Luna enjoyed the company of the stars whilst chatting away and cuddling. After a while. they headed inside and met back up with their friends. After all the students and parents helped clean and fix up Hogwarts Harry packed up all of his things. He met up with Ron and Hermione in the Gryffindor common room.
"So you're really going out with old Loony Lovegood eh?" Ron jabbed.
"Oh knock it off Ron." Hermione gave Ron a fierce glare.
"It's alright Hermione. Luna can be a bit... eccentric." Harry admitted. "But that's what I love about her. Plus I think she'll be a fantastic Godmother to Teddy."
"If you say so Mate." Ron said.
"So when are you guys starting at the ministry?" Harry asked.
"I Start my Auror training next Monday." Ron replied.
"And I start in my Department for the regulation and control of magical creatures role then too." Hermione added.
Before The trio of friends said their goodbyes reminiscing about their seven years together they had shared at Hogwarts. They where some of the best moments of their lives. Harry with luggage in hand headed to the Great Hall to wait for Luna. After she Joined them they had one more stop before they could start their new life at 12 Grimmauld place. Madam Pomfrey had been looking after Teddy while Harry and Luna got their affairs in order. After thanking Madam Pomfrey Harry, Luna, and their son Teddy appareted to their home to start there new life.
Things felt weird at first for Harry. Adult life seemed like it was just trusted uppon him out of nowhere. Now he has a job, a kid, and a new girlfriend. Life as an Auror trainee was stressful. He had been pulling long hours at the Ministry of Magic and there was no sign of things slowing down anytime soon. Luna was just as busy too. She had started her research on Magical Creatures with funding from her dad. The months past by as Luna kept up her research while Harry continued his Auror training. As the day of his Auror training graduation crept closer and closer Harry had felt at peace with his life for the first time in years.
May 16th was a special day for Harry. Today he was finally going to be a full fledged Auror. He awoke bright and early but he noticed Luna wasn't laying beside him. Harry walked downstairs to find Luna had made breakfast for him. Admittedly Luna wasn't a very good cook. A horrible one even, but Harry would never tell her that. He loved her to much. So harry held his breath as he bit into the coal black toast that had been smeared with something foul looking. Harry would be sure to eat every bite of it. He didn't want to hurt her feelings.
"I knew you'd like it Harry. Dad always liked it when I made breakfast for him." Luna smiled.
Her smile melted Harry's heart instantly. After choking down the toast he looked at her and smiled.
"I'm glad you two will be there for me today." Harry said.
"Harry I know today must be hard for you. I know you wish you're parents could be with you." Luna said directly. She always had a knack for knowing exactly what Harry was thinking and feeling.
"I know they'd be so proud of you." She added.
"I know they would." Harry said somberly. "But Mr. and MRS. Weasley will be there. So will Hermione."
"Hermione must be so proud of Ron." Luna said. "Becoming an Auror is no easy feat."
"Tell me about it." Harry joked.
Harry cleaned up their dishes while Luna got herself and Teddy dressed and ready for Harry's graduation. The little robes she was dressing him in where a miniature version of Harry's. She had even made him a tiny pair of Specter spec to mach her own. After the three of them were all ready to go the young family apparated into the entrance of the Ministry of Magic. There waiting for them where Ron and Hermione.
"Can you believe it mate? You and I full fledged Aurors." Ron said.
"I know. Never thought I'd see the day." Replied Harry.
"You guys better be careful. Aurors a dangerous job." Hermione said.
"We've already bagged Voldemort. We can only go down from here." Joked Ron.
Hermione didn't look amused.
"Teddy, are you exited to see Uncle Ron and Aunt Hermione." Luna said lifting Teddy up so he could see them.
"aww. He's adorable. You two make such cute parents." Said Hermione.
"Blimey, what is he wearing." Ron smirked.
"I made him his own pair of Specter Specs." Luna said proudly.
Hermione shot a glare so fear at Ron he knew not to say what was on his mind. Just then they heard a loud crack. It was Arthur, Molly, and George Weasley. They had come to see their son and Harry become Full Fledged Aurors.
"Ron Oh Ron." Molly ran up and hugged her son. "We're so proud of you."
"Mom. Not in front of Hermione." Ron protested. George laughed.
"I can't believe it. My son an Auror." Arthur said proudly. "And you too Harry. What a glorious day for Wizard kind."
"Make sure the people you arrest are actually Dark Wizards Ron." George lovingly Mocked his brother.
"Ginny and Bill send their best regards. Bill is busy at Gringotts and Ginny got invited to go to Greece with Neville." Molly explained.
"Ginny and Neville Longbottom? I never thought I'd see the day." Ron joked.
It was almost time for the graduation ceremony. Luna, Teddy, and Hermione followed the Weasley's to their seats. Kingsley met Harry and Ron and Led them into the Ceremonial chamber They where greeted by every member of the Wizengamot which was standard practice by the Ministry of Magic. It was their duty to oversee the graduation of new Aurors while the Minister of Magic led the Ceremony. Harry and Ron approached a giant stone slab. Laying on top of it was a very old looking wooden staff. It was the legendary Staff of Merlin. It was one of the most prized possessions of the Ministry of Magic. Ron and Harry approached the staff and carefully placed their hands upon it as instructed by Kingsley.
"Repeat after me." Kingsley voice boomed out into the room. His face had a stern look emblazoned onto it. "You shall uphold the values of the Ministry of Magic. This means hunting Dark wizards to the ends of the Earth no matter where their evil reigns."
Ron and Harry repeated Kingsley's words with an air of pride yet anxiousness. After They finished repeating him Kingsley raised his wand and cast a spell that send a stream of magic around the room finally landing on Ron and Harry. Their band new Auror badges appeared on their robes.
"Congratulations boys." Kingsley's stone face broke into a smile.
Ron looked back at Hermione and his family. He could see them holding back tears in their eyes. They were so proud of him. A man Harry and Ron didn't recognize approached them. He looked to be around 40 years old with dark black hair, pale skin and dark bags under his eyes. He had an air of sadness about him. Kingsley introduced them.
"Harry, Ron This is James Weedleton. He is the new Director of the Auror office. He's your new boss."
"Nice to finally meet you boys. Your reputations proceed you." James Weedleton greeted them. "I Expect highly of you both."
He Shook both of their hands.
"Uh sir. When will our first day be?" Ron asked.
"Don't worry about that right now boys. I've arranged a little party for you and your families in our break room. We can worry about work after we've celebrated." James Weedleton said.
Kingsley dismissed the Wizengamot thus officially ending the Auror ceremony before leading Harry. Ron, and their families to the break room. Kingsley and James had plenty of food and drinks prepared. Ron walked straight over to the fire whiskey and pour him a shot. Harry grabbed he and Luna some butter-beers while Mr. and Mrs. Weasley passed out food for everyone. It was a joyous yet somber location for the whole lot. On one hand Harry and Ron had Finally done it. They had become Aurors which they had both dreamed of for so long. On the other hand it was hard not to reminisce about everyone they had lost. Harry couldn't help but think of his parents, of Sirius, Lupin, and Tonks. Fred's death was still fresh in everyone's mind as well.
"So mate. When are you too getting Married?" George pestered his little brother and Hermione.
"We've only been officially dating for about a year now. We've got our whole lives to worry about that." Hermione replied before Ron could. He was too busy downing another butter-beer.
Luna looked over at Harry. She couldn't have been more proud. The boy she'd had a crush on since he'd asked her to Slughorns Christmas party and longed for ever since was becoming a wonderful young man. Without caring what everyone though she leaned in and gave Harry a passionate kiss on the Lips.
"Proud of you." She whispered.
"Way to go mate." Ron cheered. George joined in.
"About your first day of work boys." James Weedleton started to say before he was interrupted by a Tawny Owl that burst in and landed right by Harry. It had a note attached to it. Harry untied the parchment from the owls leg and began to read. It was from Seamus Finnigan his old Hogwarts house mate.
" Dear Harry
I don't have much time to explain. Please meet me near Rosslare Harbour in county Wexford. I'm being hunted down as we speak. I need your help Harry.
-Your buddy Seamus Finnigan."
Harry couldn't believe it. Seamus was the last person he'd expect to ever need anyone else s help. Everyone in the room could tell something was wrong. Harry showed them the contents of the letter.
"Do you think some of the remaining Death eaters are after him?" Asked Ron.
"Why would they go after Seamus?" Asked Hermione.
"It's not like him to ask for help. We should go Harry." Luna said.
"But what about work?" Harry worried.
"It sounds to me like your friend is in danger." James Weedleton Said. "You have to go."
Harry shook his head in agreement.
"What about me sir?" Ron asked.
"Stay here until we find out whats happening to him." James said.
"I thought we rounded up the last of the Irish Death eaters." Kingsley said.
"As did I." James looked concerned.
"What if its not Death Eaters?" George asked.
"In any case he's in trouble and needs help." Hermione replied.
"Harry, I'm going with you." Luna said with a sparkle in her eyes. "It could be dangerous to go alone. Plus Ireland is full of magical beasts. It'll be great research for my Bestiary."
"But what about Teddy?" Harry sounded concerned. "We cant take him with us."
"I could ask dad if he could watch him." Luna said. "But he's so busy working on the quibbler."
Harry would never tell Luna this but he felt that would be an awful idea. To Harry Xenophillious Love-good was a decent man, after all he did raise Luna, but he didn't feel comfortable letting him babysit his Godson for a potentially extended period of time. Luckily for Harry Mrs. Weasley butted in.
"Arthur and I could watch after Teddy for you." Molly said. She gave Harry a wink as though she could read his mind.
"Would you really? Oh Harry and I wouldn't want to trouble you." Replied Luna.
"Nonsense. Molly and I would love to." Arthur added. "It's been pretty Lonely at the Burrow since all of our kids moved away."
"Thank you guys." Harry said. "We really appreciate it." Added Luna.
"If you need me for anything mate don't hesitate to send me an owl. Hermione and I can be there as soon as we get it." Ron told Harry.
Harry thanked everyone. Saying goodbye to Teddy was a lot harder for both of them than they expected especially for Luna. She had been with him almost always since Tonks and Lupin passed away. It wasn't easy for Harry either. In the short amount of time the three of them had been together he'd really had come to view Teddy as a son. Luna gave Teddy a goodbye kiss on the forehead and Harry ruffled his hair. "We'll miss you" Harry said. "Mamma and Papa will be back soon. I promise" said Luna. With a loud crack they where gone. They apparated hand in hand to Ireland in search of Seamus Finnigan.
