Heya there lovelies, it's me... ya boi, I'm sorry I haven't updated my story Is It Wrong For A Rabbit to Save the Day in a while... it's because the story had become needlessly over convoluted and there were just so many potholes that even I'm having a hard time deciding on where the hell I want the story to go, a product of poor plotting and a lack of knowledge about the Danmachi timeline, so I just decided to start with a clean slate and try writing a new story, this time with the beautiful Dea Saint as the main heroine of the story, funnily enough, these two have even less chemistry than Bell and Lefiya since they have very little interaction in the canonical Danmachi universe, but for those uncultured swines that haven't read my bio yet, it's that rare ships make me cream, so that's why I've decided to just not give a flying piece of shite and write this incredibly far-fetched story. I may still update my previous story... but I'm not sure when the hell that'll happen, I kind of just got over my Bell x Lefiya high and have moved on to a different ship, so tldr: Idiot author didn't figure out plot for first story, wrote himself into a corner and so decided to try and redeem himself with a different story. Anyways, I'll selfishly ask once more that if you guys have any criticism about the story, feel free to comment them down in the doobly-doo, it helps me write more compelling and interesting stories. Now on with the show.

I do not own Danmachi, the popular series is rightly owned by Fujino Ōmori

Third Person View:

The afternoon sun had basked Orario with a soft warmth that was pleasantly ticklish to one's skin, tinting the skies with a picturesque amalgamation of red, yellow and orange. Day once again gave into night as the skies gradually became darker and darker with each passing minute

Somewhere inside the walled city...

*Yawn*

Within the halls of the Dian Cecht Familia's medical facility, Airmid Teasanare hastily proceeded towards her destination, yawning cutely along the way, she had just finished up with a patient's treatment when she was urgently required in the emergency room, apparently... two more critically injured adventurers had been freshly rolled in for immediate medical attention, they had been found down within the Lower Floors, both in a state of near-death. This particular afternoon shift had been a stressful one, with many critically injured adventurers being rushed into her Familia's facility for immediate medical attention, along with regular civilians that needed treatment for this or that, in short, she badly needed a break... she was actually due to clock out in an hour, but apparently, she'll be staying for the night.

Grumbling to herself about how their manpower was seriously stretched thin, she made it towards the door that led to the room that housed two recently admitted patients, beside the closed door was a nervous looking healer from her familia, Martha.

"Martha, tell me something!"

She pressed the woman beside the double doors for information, which she readily and professionally delivered

"Two critically injured adventurers, one male human, one female elf, male is Rabbit's Foot while the other is named Ryu Lion as revealed by their rescuers, both critically injured and are unconscious, with multiple wounds ranging from minor abrasions and bruises to major lacerations and broken bones, Bernadette is currently using her magic to keep them in an induced coma to help their bodies heal faster..."

Having gathered sufficient crucial information, she nodded and swung open the doors

She had seen her fair share of wounded adventurers, ranging from the mild to the severe, but each time was always like her first time, her stomach would turn in an upset manner, threatening to void its contents

Over by the side, another healer from the Dian Cecht Familia fiddled with the numerous medical instruments attached to the two unconscious adventurers, she was utterly haggard and had obviously seen better days

"Oh, Airmid! Thank the gods you're here!"

She greeted her captain, who curtly nodded in acknowledgement

Airmid was quick to join her fellow familia member in properly setting up the numerous medical paraphernalia around them, all the while engaging the healer in conversation

"Martha told me about the two, anything else can you tell me?"

She quickly pressed the other healer for more information, she thought about it for a second before responding

"They were just wheeled in a few minutes ago by a syndicate of adventurers, apparently... the Hestia Familia expedition had gone awry and they were found down in the thirty-seventh floor, much deeper than the expeditions target floor, it seems like the two fought like hell just to survive down there, but we won't know more than that until they wake up..."

Airmid nodded at the newly acquired information

"Where are they now?"

She followed up a question as she turned a knob situated on a medical device, to which the healer looked momentarily confused before realizing what she meant

"The lively lot who wheeled these two in?"

She clarified, to which Airmid wearily nodded

"Oh, I shooed them away a little bit ago, they're probably by the main lobby, Martha's probably pressing them for more information"

The captain of the Dian Cecht Familia nodded at that, once they were done with the preliminary care, she'll go and talk to them

"Feverish temperatures!"

Bernadette exclaimed out as she took out the medical instruments that were specifically designed to measure body temperature from the two adventurers' mouths

Airmid's eyes furrowed, she had just finished setting up the medical devices and was about to start chanting to cast a spell that'll alleviate their pain and wounds

"Healing droplets, tears of light, eternal sanctuary. Compose a medicinal hymn-three hundred, sixty, and five. The melody of the healer's almanac saves all things. Come, destruction of evil. The burial of wounds, interment of disease. Curses be gone in the light of vitality. In the name of all that is holy - I heal you!"

A bright and intricately patterned magic circle appeared around their feet, encapsulating the entire room with its rejuvenating light, the two unconscious adventurers were now in a much better state than they were in before, as well as Bernadette, who had been rejuvenated by the spell, but the same could not be said for the Dea Saint, who lost a bit of mind after casting such a powerful healing spell, quickly fiddling within the pouch beside her waist for a mind potion, she hastily gulped it down before discarding the used flask in a recycle bin.

"Ahhh, your magic really does wonders, Cap!"

Bernadette smirked at her captain, who simply continued to do other miscellaneous things and monitor the two patients' conditions, who were now stable, but they still seemed ways from waking up

"Bernadette, admit Rabbit's Foot for an immediate corrective surgery, his left forearm was crushed into a pulp!"

Airmid exclaimed out, to which the healer quickly nodded and hastily went for the door

Once her fellow familia member had left the room, her attention focused back towards the two adventurer, her gaze particularly lingered on the white-haired boy who had found himself within the hospital a few times already by now

Shaking her head at the stressful workload that had been forcefully thrusted upon her, she couldn't help but sigh in defeat

"I really have my work cut out for me..."

Darkness.

There was only darkness all around stretching as far as the eye could see, an endless sea of unnerving obscurity and uncertainty

'What...'

Within that endless reach of darkness, a lone figure levitated in the air, his pristinely-white hair was a striking contrast to the pitch black darkness all around, the naked figure of a semi-conscious Bell Cranel motionlessly stood as still as a dead body, but could not be more alive

'Am I dead...?'

His eyes slowly started to flutter open, witnessing the pitch black darkness that was all around him

'I can't feel my body...'

He was sore and numb all over, if that was even possible, the extreme stress he his body had endured came back with a vengeance

'What... is that?'

His tired and bleary eyes focused on something peculiar in the darkness

Another figure could be seen emerging, stepping into his field of vision

He suddenly realized who it was... or more accurately, what it was, panic began rising in his being

'N-no!'

He tried to move his legs to create some distance between them, but he quickly found out that he couldn't move even if he wanted to, unable to defend himself or even run from the approaching evil... he was left to its complete mercy, if it even had any

Red, glowing eyes filled with calculating bloodlust met with his panicked orbs, hooves audibly clacked as it trotted ever closer, with a mocking literal ear-to-ear grin on its skull for a head, it was a skull-sheep

'N-no! Gods... not again!!!'

As if it was able to sense its prey's fear slowly but surely reaching its zenith, it suddenly stopped getting closer...

And a split second later, as fast as a blink on the eye, already launched itself from its position and towards the boy's distraught face, its jaw opened as wide as possible to devour its vulnerable prey

"AHHH!!"

The white haired boy resting on the bed since they were brought two days ago suddenly shot up from its cozy embrace and screamed out for his dear life, he was a panting and sweating mess, his distraught face slowly gave way to a confused expression as he calmed down and took in his surroundings

'Wh...where am I?'

A sharp and profound pain suddenly shot through his being, the origin in his ribs, forcing the boy to wheeze in pain

"I see you're awake now, Mister Cranel..."

A saccharine and soft voice alerted him of the presence of another person

Airmid opened the door and let herself into the patient's room, having heard the boy's distressed scream, she rushed towards his room

"Miss Airmid..."

He acknowledged with a smile, still hurting

She nodded to herself before walking towards the edge of his bed to get a closer look of the boy, who wore a confused yet pained look, clutching his ribs

"Good... you haven't suffered any memory loss..."

She informed him, which washed him with relief

"Hahah... ow! That's good to hear I guess"

He smiled dumbly, having had enough of the unimportant chitchat, Airmid proceeded to the inspection

"Now then Mister Cranel... how are you feeling aside from the obvious pain from your ribs, these'll help with that by the way..."

She asked as she handed him a few small tablets and a large glass filled with water, to which he gratefully nodded with a whimper and downed the tablets, returning the used glass of water to her, which she set aside on the nightstand beside the bed, the medicine went to work at once, significantly alleviating his suffering

"Well... I don't feel too bad..."

He grinned at her, which she narrowed her eyes at

"You're going to have to be more specific than that Mister Cranel..."

She pulled out a stethoscope from seemingly out of thin air and proceeded to press it on the boy's exposed chest, which made the boy lightly cringe from the cold metal on his skin

"Well... pretty much my entire left arm is numb..."

She gave him a look, did he not notice yet?

"We had to perform emergency surgery on your left forearm, the bone was as good as pulp when we inspected it, so I'm sorry to say that we had to take out the bone and replace it with a metal pipe instead, it'll work just as fine though..."

She solemnly informed him as he looked at his bound left arm, which surprised him

"What? I didn't notice that..."

She fought the urge to facepalm... did he seriously not notice, or was he screwing with her? (A.N.:( ͡ ͜ʖ ͡))

Rubbing the back of his head with his good arm, laughing his embarrassment off

"Anyway... anything else Mister Cranel?"

She inquired once more, which the boy nodded at

"I also can't feel most of my body, like an extreme form of pins and needles, it's as if something heavy was pressed onto my legs and kept there for a long time..."

This surprised the boy himself, as he was forced upright by the nightmare earlier, it was probably from all the adrenaline in his system, which now subsided

"That's to be expected... you've been pushing your body to the absolute limit down there, I heard that they found you in the deep floors, much lower than the floor where your Familia's expedition was expected to be in..."

She explained with an intimidating stare that made him shiver in fear for his life, he was now unsure if the monsters down there could even hold a candle to an angry Dea Saint

"Ahh... yes, it's kind of a long story..."

He then suddenly remembered something

"Miss Airmid! Where is Miss Ryu!?"

He exclaimed out in a voice much louder than he had intended, which earned him a smack on the head from an annoyed Airmid

"Please refrain from being so loud Mister Cranel, you might disturb other patients... as for your question, Miss Lion is peacefully resting and recuperating a few rooms away"

She explained with a stern glare at the boy, reminding him that this was her domain and he was to follow her rules for the foreseeable future

"Y-yes, I'm deeply sorry Miss Airmid"

He lowered his head in shame, as the captain of the Dian Cecht Familia simply sighed

"It's alright, just don't do it again"

She reassured the boy, whose ashamed expression gave way to a moderately happy expression

"I'll now be checking your temperature"

Airmid pulled out the medical instrument for measuring core body temperature and unceremoniously shoved it into Bell's mouth, and told him not to take it out until a minute has passed

"M-Miss Airmid... just how bad were my injuries?"

The boy awkwardly talked while the instrument still hung from his mouth

She turned to look at him, her gaze almost scathingly stern

"Where do I even begin... multiple lacerations, some minor but quite a few required stitched, an aforementioned broken arm that required surgery, five broken ribs, muscles on your left leg were pulled and will require you to be bedridden for a few more days until it heals properly, a perforation down near the left side of your pelvis, almost shattering your hip, but you were lucky that whatever went through your body missed your hip or you'll be staying here for much longer..."

She spoke with a monotonous voice, almost robot-like

Her explanation went and made Bell's head spin, was he really that roughed up? And it seemed like she wasn't even halfway through the list of his injuries...

"Okay okay, I get it Miss Airmid"

He stopped her explanation, sighing from such an extensive list

She narrowed her eyes at him once again

"I sincerely hope you do Mister Cranel... you've been in and out here a few times already these past few months... and each time more severe than the last"

She tapped her foot repeatedly on the floor beneath her, impatiently awaiting his response

"I-If it's any comfort to know... I try not to end up so battered..."

He awkwardly laughed it off, but she didn't seemed convinced

"You really need to stop pushing your body so extremely... so much has happened to you these past few months, much more than what veteran adventurers experience in a year..."

She explained, exasperated with the boy's foolhardiness

"I-"

A loud and powerful grumble was heard, Bell's digestive system cried out that its tank was empty and badly required fuel

Airmid let a small smile betray her immaculate features, while Bell crumpled in embarrassment

"Indeed, you haven't eaten anything in quite a while, I'll be right back Mister Cranel"

And without waiting for a response from the boy, she disappeared from the room and went to the cafeteria to fetch the boy a hearty meal

...

'How the hell did it get to this?!'

Bell internally screamed as he swallowed another spoonful of vegetable soup

"Here's more..."

Airmid held up another spoonful of soup to his mouth, he was blushing in embarrassment

"M-Miss Airmid, again... I can feed myself"

He stammered out, but the woman didn't seem convinced

"For the last time Mister Cranel, you need to take it easy for now since your body is still recovering, and I assume your body is still mostly numb? You might accidentally let go of the spoon and spill the soup all over yourself"

She sternly shut him down

Seeing that he wouldn't be able to change her mind on the matter, he simply kept quiet and accepted his fate

"Hahhh... omph!"

She shoved another spoonful into his mouth

...

After that terribly awkward and embarrassing spoon-feeding session...

"Well, everything seems to be fine now..."

She updated, after checking a nearby medical device one last time

"Your condition now seems to be stable, so with proper rest... you'll get better with time"

She smiled at him, it was a small and soft smile yet it was enough to melt him on the spot

She really did look like a saint, an angel that came from the heavens

Bell nodded to her as his response

"Thank you so much, Miss Airmid!"

He attempted to bow his head whilst sitting on the bed, but the healer just waved it off

"It's my job to ensure you recover as soon as possible"

She replied with her usual response whenever a patient thanks her for her efforts

"And with that Mister Cranel, I'll be tending to other patients now, if you need something, just press this button beside your bed, it's a magic item that'll let me know if you require my assistance"

And with that, she gave a quick bow and was out of there before he could say anything, leaving Bell all by his lonesome

The following morning...

Soft repetitive knocks woke up the slumbering boy, he had mostly slept the majority of the previous day but still felt like crap, a sobbing goddess of the Hearth and the rest of his Familia members had visited him the previous day and asked how he was doing, an earful about how he was such a reckless idiot later, they had left him with some books to occupy himself during his stay and left, promising to return at same time the next day, reading the books they left for him, he found himself dozing off in the midst of a paragraph

Awoken by the familiar presence in the room, Bell groggily greeted her

"Good morning Miss Airmid..."

He yawn in the midst of his greet, which the healer found cute

"Likewise Mister Cranel, I've brought breakfast"

She placed the tray with different assortments of food on the nightstand beside his bed

"Thank you so much Miss Airmid!"

The boy beamed at her, which she replied with a curt nod

"How are you feeling now?"

She asked, curious on the boy's condition

The boy thought about it for a little bit before replying to the light purple-haired healer

"My body doesn't feel as numb and heavy as yesterday... but there's still a bit left over"

She nodded at that

"That's good, anything else?"

She inquired further

"My ribs are slightly starting to hurt again"

He admitted with a wince, to which she took out a small bottle containing the tablets he had taken the previous day

"These should help... you're going to have to take three of these every morning only, for as long as it still hurts"

He nodded at her, she went to go fetch him a glass of water from the sink in his room

After, taking three of the tablets, as prescribed by doctor Dea Saint, she proceeded to spoon-feed him his breakfast once again, much to his vehement protest that he could now manage

"You told me you're still feeling numb Mister Cranel, no need to be stubborn"

She firmly shut him off, an argument with this woman was surely a losing battle, he noted

...

"I shall assist you in cleaning yourself and changing your bandages Mister Cranel"

Those simple words uttered by a beautiful maiden such as she were enough to send most of the blood within Bell's body towards his face, making him literally glow reddish

"W-wh-what?! I d-do-don't think the-that'll be n-ne-neccessary!!"

Bell stammered out a million miles per second, which earned him a profoundly intimidating glare from the woman in front of him

"And how do you expect to clean yourself properly with all those wrappings and with a single arm only?"

'Damn, she has a point'

Seeing as the woman was much more obstinate than he was, he resigned himself

"I'll help you get to the bathroom, sling your good arm around my neck"

Helping the injured boy get out from warm coverings of the bed, they made their way towards the room's bathroom

.

"I'll be washing your hair now..."

Airmid told him, and he meekly nodded

Bell had proved to be incredibly uncooperative during the first minute that they entered the bathroom, she ordered the boy to shed every article of clothing on his body except for the sling on his left arm, which promptly reduced the boy into a squealing mess, a herculean effort had been required to convince the boy that the sooner he does, the sooner this will be over with, so Airmid gently assisted the boy in unclothing himself, taking great care not to apply too much force lest she hurt the boy, his shirt and pants were the easy part, but when it came to his boxers, he offered much resistance, she eventually got him to take off the damned thing and cover himself with a clean towel, while Airmid turned away with a fierce blush adorning her expressionless features and instead faced the suddenly interesting shower curtain behind her

Getting the hard part over with (A.N.: ( ͡ ͜ʖ ͡)), Airmid started smoothly and delicately running her dainty, shampoo-lathered hands through the boy's soft white locks, enjoying the pleasant feeling herself

'He has surprisingly soft hair...'

She couldn't help but think as she rubbed circles around the boy's scalp

Bell let out an incredibly satisfied hum, enjoying the pleasant feeling of Airmid's fingers massaging his scalp, it was so good that he felt like she was giving his very soul a massage

"Your touch feels so good Miss Airmid..."

The boy nonchalantly blurted out, too wrapped up in the scalp-massage to adequately process his words

The Dea Saint momentarily stopped running her hands through the boy's hair, but then continued a second later, the boy did not mean what he said in an improper manner, but the poor healer misconstrued his words briefly before putting what he said into context

'He really needs to be careful with how he phrases things...'

She lightly sighed then continued to administer the best scalp-massage the boy has ever experienced

"I feel like an old man being given a bath by a caretaker... haha"

He admitted, lathering his body in soap with his free hand, saving Airmid the effort and embarrassment of doing it herself

The Dea Saint hummed in agreement and replied

"I've had my fair share of assisting elderly patients in bathing"

She admitted, which made him chuckle

"That must be quite the drag... back then, my grandpa would always have me scrub his back even though he wasn't that old yet..."

Bell chuckled at the distant memories, a tinge of melancholy spreading across his features at the memory of his late grandfather, but he forced himself to look back on those memories in a positive manner

Airmid decided not to pry further, simply humming in acknowledgement after noticing the melancholic tone the boy gained after the mention of his grandfather, instead... she picked up a nearby bucket of water and dumped it on the boy's head, rinsing his foamy hair and body free of all the soap

Shaking his head like a puppy drying itself off, she got showered with water droplets, which made her glare at the boy

"Ooh, sorry... miss Airmid"

He apologized, to which the Dea Saint simply sighed in exasperation

"Well, aren't you a handful Mister Cranel, now come on... let's get you dressed up"

She carefully helped him dry off with a clean towel and slipped him into a fresh smelling robe

...

"Ouch! That stung"

Bell yelped as Airmid tightly wrapped new, clean bandages around his healing left arm, it was tight to the point of nearly cutting off circulation, but was still comfortably snug

"Bell-kun please bear with it for now... I'll take care of you properly when we're alone"

Hestia snuggled up against the boy's right arm, which made him smile at her nervously

"Hestia-sama, please refrain from crushing Master Bell with those absurdly disproportionately large assets of yours!"

Lili whined, which made the Goddess of the Hearth glare daggers at the small supporter

The two finally got the chance to visit Bell again ever since he was first wheeled in the medical facility, both had been incredibly busy the past few days, with Lili supervising Familia affairs while Bell was absent as the de facto Familia leader, along with having to write a comprehensively detailed report on how their expedition had transpired, which was due to be submitted to the guild the following day. Hestia had also been quite busy these past few days, her work at the Jagamarukun store has been hell the past few days, with the limited-time flavor being spammed by a certain Sword Princess, along with overseeing the Familia along with the vice-captain, it had been a rough few days for her as well, now that they finally had some time off that they decided to visit their Captain and see how he's doing now

"You two, please keep your bickering down, there are other patients in here!"

Airmid hissed at the two of them, which succeeded in shutting them both up for now

"Goodness... you lot are certainly livel-"

"BELL!!!"

A sudden voice garnered their attention, turning their heads towards the door, to the origin of the voice, they were surprised to find a very awake and less-than-modest Ryu who was panting for breath as if she had run a marathon

For some unknown reason, she sighed in relief and smiled when her eyes fell upon the white haired boy

"Bell..."

"M-Miss Ryu...?"

"E-Elf-kun..."

The elf was confused to find all four of them flustered, looking at her as if she stood there naked

Then, not a second later... she did stand there naked

Her modesty came crashing down to the ground after the hospital attire that was pathetically fastened and held together by a lace suddenly came undone and had shown her birthday suit

It took her a few more seconds to notice that it suddenly felt more breezy down there, her gaze slowly falling towards her lack of clothing

With a cry of embarrassment, she unceremoniously crossed her arms over her chest and dropped down to the floor, as if she were a humiliated slave

Bell's juvenile eyes saw enlightenment, now fully understanding a man's romance, as his grandfather had told him before numerous times, it was at that moment that the boy now became a man

But there were two characters that weren't too happy about this development, namely the Goddess of the Heart and the Hestia Familia supporter prum, who acquainted each of his cheeks with their palms, nearly knocking him out cold then and there

Airmid, seeing her patient being handled without care, exploded at the two

"What the hell do you two thing you're doing?!"

The two women were quite something themselves when they were enraged, but Dea Saint was on a completely different caliber from these two's scare factor, she could probably give the Juggernaut a run for its money with her angry scowl

Thus, after hearing the Dea Saint's harangue, they immediately straightened themselves and gazed apologetically down at their feet

""I'm sorry...""

They both mumbled meekly at the same time while the Dea Saint continued to glare at them

"Goodnyass..."

Four more people peeked by the door, the waitresses from the Hostess of Fertility observed the peculiar situation with mixed reactions, but mostly with amusement

-Fin-

Well, we're off to a pretty good start wouldn't you say? I do admit that some parts were actually inspired by @Ventanus' Blood of Zeus(Ero) story, damn that shizz good, if you want more... definitely check him out, he's a really good writer and needs more love for his incredibly creative stories. Also, I plan on this story only being a short one, with only six chapters or so... because as I've recently come to learn, long and convoluted stories are really bloody draining to write and think of, so that's why I'll probably just write more of these little fluffs instead of another long-ass story, I might try and write another long one, but that'll probably come in a much later date, when I'm better at this fanfic crap, anyway... please favorite the story if you want to see more of this type of stories, and comment any criticism on what can be improved, I welcome you all to be as merciless as you want to, I won't cry... we maybe a bit, but it'll be for the betterment of the story hehe, so that's all for today folks!

See you babies in the next one!
