Now on with the story

Prologue (takes place a few moments after Hiccup is chosen to kill the Monstrous Nightmare)

Astrid

I was so annoyed. I mean why couldn't Hiccup have let me win and the worst part was that he seemed like he wanted me to win as well. Was he just a coward or was there a special reason? Ugh I needed some time away from the village and Hiccup the suddenly not useless. So here I was throwing my axe at trees and stumps and any dragon that wants to get in my way well I'm in a mood so there might be the possibility that I kill a dragon outside of dragon training. I had just thrown my axe when I saw Hiccup wearing some ridiculous outfit with a huge basket on his back sneaking further into the woods. So I called out to him when he finally turned around to face me. He looked sheepish as if he was doing something and didn't want to get caught. " H-h-hey Astrid. What are you doing this far out in the woods?" He asked "How about you tell me how you got so good at dragon training and I'll think about telling you the answer to your question" I said. That sounded good and intimidating any second now he was going to start sputtering excuses. When suddenly he started laughing and said " You're right I'm good at dragon training but you're good at dragon slaying". He then promptly covered his mouth with his hands and ran off disappearing into the thicket. I shrugged the encounter off and told myself that I could talk to him in the morning.

Hiccup

Why did I have to say that hopefully Astrid will just think I was being sarcastic like usual, not being truthful. I hurried to the cove and was double checking I had everything when I realized that I had forgotten my notebook. How clueless was I almost forgetting the thing that held all my secrets, thank Odin I had double checked everything before we left. I told Toothless that I would be back soon and hurried to the forge. When I got close enough to see the village I realized we were under attack. Perfect for my plan the rest of the villagers would just think I had been eaten and think " Time to celebrate Hiccup the Useless is dead, the mistake that should have died sooner. Whoop, Whoop he's finally dead. I knew I would have to make up a good excuse for leaving, maybe play the " I've got to make my mark" card or something else. Thankfully Gobber had already left and I didn't have to make up some lame excuse for why I had to be out there, grabbed my notebook and ran back to the cove and Toothless,we then took off in the opposite direction of Berk. I took one last look at my home and said goodbye forever besides who would miss me, Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III, Hiccup the Useless, the runt of the people of Berk.

Stoick

I woke up and thought that today would be a great day. I mean my boy is turning into a viking today. I decided that I could make breakfast for me and Hiccup. I made some eggs and poured out two glasses of yak milk. I then went to wake up my boy. When I went into Hiccups room I could tell he wasn't there and when I felt the bed it was cold meaning either Hiccup had slept at the forge which wasn't uncommon, or he had been carried off by those wretched beasts just like his mother. I ran as fast as I could to the forge and asked Gobber if Hiccup was there.

Gobber

When Stoick came barging in early in the morning looking for Hiccup, when I told him I hadn't seen Hiccup since dinner last night I saw his face fall. A couple minutes later and he informed the entire all started looking for him everywhere. We left no stone unturned and yet we only found signs that he was dead of carried off by those wretched beasts. Losing Hiccup was like losing a son to me rather than an apprentice. He had always had great ideas some of his ideas were still helping the village even if they didn't know. We had spent an entire day the sun was setting and we still hadn't found Hiccup the heir of Berk.

Snotlout

When my uncle told us that Hiccup was missing all of the teens were worried about him Astrid seemed to take it the worst though nothing was fun without Hiccup not even flirting with girls so I just stopped which somehow got me more girls but I wasn't in the mood for a girl all I wanted was for my cousin to come out of a hiding place and ask what we were looking for. So I could go apologize for all the things I had done to him. He didn't even have to forgive me, I just needed to say that I was sorry. While us teens were looking in the village, Astrid went to go tell my uncle something. The only thing I was hoping for was for my cousin to come back.
