11/4/23 Update: Rewrote this to make it a bit better. Yes, I did it a day after publishing this, deal with it.
Chapter 0: The beggining
"You are not getting away!"
"Kip!" Yelled my partner.
That rare Pokémon was not running away from me without a proper battle.
I ran and ran through this forest with the hope of catching it, but the more time I kept running, the more I felt like I was going to lose track of it.
Finally, I arrived at a small clearing, free of bushes and trees. Still no sign of that Pokémon, and no clue of where it had gone to.
Seeing that I lost the chase, I sat down on the ground, and the small Pokémon on my shoulders looked at me with a sad expression.
"Mud..."
I smiled at the little display of sadness from my partner and petted his head.
"Don't worry, bud. I'm sure we will find another one of those someday..."
Even myself didn't believe what I just said, but I knew that this experience would probably never repeat itself again.
Despite my words, my partner was still sad that he couldn't battle that Pokémon.
"Hey, don't be sad. I know what will cheer you up. I know of a place where the view is amazing. Wanna go there?"
"Kip! Mudkip! "
My partner smiled and we headed towards that place I visited so many times back in my childhood.
Finally we arrived at a beautiful cliff, where the setting sun was able to be seen, along with more cliffs and a beautiful river at the bottom.
I sat down within a prudential distance of the edge and enjoyed the beautiful scenary. A few Taillow flying over the sun was enough to make me forget the frustration of that lost chase.
My partner jumped from my shoulder and sat next to me, seemingly also enjoying the beautiful scenary.
"Amazing, huh? I used to come here when I was stressed at school. Thought it may be able to cheer you up"
No response from my partner.
"Guess it did, huh?"
I laid down on my back and just closed my eyes for a bit. A small lump with the form of a Mudkip jumped onto my stomach and sat down. He was happy, I could tell. A smile formed on my face.
"Really? Out of all places, you sit here?"
"Kip! "
He layed down on my stomach and closed his eyes.
"Goodnight, bud. Hope you have a nice-"
I heard bushes rustling behind me, and I quickly stood in my feet, just to see someone coming out from behind the shrubbery.
She was a girl, who couldn't be much more older than me. She had blonde hair hair with a few scarlet streaks, and also blue eyes.
"Hey" Was what she said. Despite her appearence, she sounded a lot older.
"Hello? Who are you?"
"Just a trainer that was chasing a weird Pokémon through the woods. By the way, have you seen it?"
"No way! You were chasing it too? I lost it some time ago and came here to cheer up"
She giggled. "Exactly what happened to me! Was it white?"
"I think so. Such a shame that I lost it. What are you doing here anyway?"
"My own chase brought me here, and I saw you on the ground, so I decided to check if you were ok"
"Yeah. I was just going to take a quick nap while watching this beautiful scenary!"
She looked at the cliffs and gasped. "Amazing! I never knew that this was here! Such an amazing view! But aren't you even a bit scared of the height?"
"Why would I be? I am not getting closer than where I am right now, so no need to worry"
We stood a few moments in silence as we looked at the sunset. Then the girl broke the silence.
"Oh! By the way, I need to tell you something!"
"What is it?"
"It's just a small advice that my dad told me so you don't lose any Pokémon next time"
"Yeah? Tell me"
She put an evil grin on her face. "Next time you chase me, try bringing a parachute"
"Wha-"
Without having enough time to react, I got punched in the face, knocking me backwards, and making me bleed from my nose. My vision was blurry, after that.
"What the fuck?!"
My partner stood up, hissing. He didn't enough time to do anything though, as the "girl" apparently fired a Dark Pulse towards him, knocking him down.
"What even are you?"
"Your worst nightmare"
Another Dark Pulse. And this time, it was headed towards my direction.
I narrowly dodged it, and tried to to land a punch on her, but she just kicked me back.
Another Dark Pulse was used on me, and this time, I didn't have the reflexes to dodge.
It hit me fully, and I was launched to the edge of the cliff. The remaining momentum made me roll, and I clung to the edge of the cliff with the remaining energy I had.
No matter how hard I tried, I didn't have the strength to pull myself back up.
"How pathetic. And these are the famous humans from the legends?"
She stepped on one of my hands. "Why?" Was the only thing I could say.
"You may not know it yet, but you are nothing more than a obstacle to our plans. So I decided to take you out while we still had the chance"
She raised one of her feet on top of my other hand. "Any last words?"
"You better not touch Mudkip"
"How sentimental. Now do me a favour, and die as painfully as you can"
She stepped on my hand, and I removed it, cringing from the pain.
I felt as if time was slowed down. My life flashed in front of my eyes. Friends, family, and even Mudkip. I never expected this to be my last adventure.
The ground was closing in more and more.
It was getting closer. And closer. And closer. Until I was mere inches from it
Please. If there is someone up there, let me survive.
And then, everything went black.
...
...
Hey it's me. Remember how I said that I'd see you on the next chapter back then? Yeah. I kinda lost motivation to continue that story. But I swear I won't give up on four chapters this time! I actually planned this story instead of improvising.
So yeah. Hope you enjoy.
