So, who here is hyped for Mortal Kombat 1? I know I am! Can't wait to see what new bloody good content we'll get this time!

Anyway, I read a fic on FimFiction called Mortal Kombat: Defenders of Equestria which is a My Little Pony/Mortal Kombat Crossover. The premise is cool but the grammar leaves much to be desired. So, taking from it and the stories of the legendary KnightMysterio, I'm making this remake of the story.

Long ago in a realm hidden away from the wicked Shao Kahn and Shinnok, there lived a peaceful land populated by magical creatures, the most prominent of them all being humanoid ponies. The ponies were like humans in many ways, living peaceful lives alongside other species such as dragons, griffons, and more.

Ruling this glorious land was the beautiful, fair, and kind Princess Celestia and ruling alongside her was her sister, Princess Luna. The two were both Alicorns, ponies who were the unity of all three types; the Earth Ponies who tended the field, the Pegasi who watched over the weather, and the Unicorns who were masters of the arcane arts.

The sisters were tasked with different jobs; Celestia was in charge of raising the sun, to bring warm days, and Luna was in charge of raising the moon, to bring cool nights so that all the ponies could sleep.

However, Luna did not wish for her people to sleep, she wished that they would be awake to see her beautiful night sky. The ponies loved only Celestia for bringing the sun up every day. Witnessing her glory, Luna's heart began to ache. But her rage soon replaced her sorrow and that rage soon consumed her, transforming her into a wicked woman of darkness; Nightmare Moon.

Despite trying to desperately plead with her sister, Celestia was ultimately forced to use the Elements of Harmony to banish her to the moon. Consumed by grief, Celestia shut herself away from the world, unable to accept herself as a worthy ruler after what she had done.

However, she would soon realize she was not alone when a traveler wandering the realms came to her...

Outside in the Everfree Forest, the guards searched everywhere for their princess but no luck was turning up. She had hidden herself very well, unable to face anybody after what she had done.

Hiding away on the outskirts of the forest, far away from her kingdom and subjects, a beautiful woman with ivory white skin, flowing hair that was multiple different colors, and light magenta eyes wept. She wore a beautiful white royal dress with golden trimmings and puffed sleeves and admirably showed off her modest F-Cup breasts. The most eye-catching parts about her were her large white angelic wings and her sleek slender spiral horn protruding from her forehead.

This was Princess Celestia, the acting ruler of Equestria... and one who felt undeserving of her title after her horrible deed of banishing her beloved younger sister to the moon.

As she continued to grieve, what seemed like lightning crashed in the distance. A strange figure appeared and approached the crying Alicorn but she didn't pay notice until the figure gently placed a hand on her shoulder.

A silent gasp escaped the Princess of the Sun's mouth as she spun around to see a man there but he was clearly not of Equestria.

The man wore white robes and a blue vest, his face shadowed by a straw hat. His eyes glowed an ethereal blue, crackling with lightning underneath. Uncertain of who this stranger was, Celestia backed away, tears still running down her beautiful face.

"Please...stay away from me..."

"Calm yourself, Princess... I'm not here to hurt you..." The man said reassuringly.

Celestia turned her head away. "Go away...please..."

"I will not..." The man calmly responded as he approached her. "Because she wouldn't want you to be alone..."

Celestia's eyes widened. How did this stranger know about Luna? However, that just made her emotions overwhelm her even more as she bowed her head.

"I didn't want this...I never wanted to hurt her the way I did, all I wanted was to... to..." She could barely speak a word, thinking back to what happened.

The man gently knelt down to wipe away her tears, a look of understanding in his eyes.

"What became of your sister was not your fault. Everyone is responsible for their own destiny." He placed his hands on her shoulders. "You have the makings of greatness within you, Princess, but you must remember your sister for who she was... not for who she became."

The man's words rang softly in Celestia's ears, the Princess of the Sun feeling hope swell inside her. She lowered her head slightly but gave the man a thankful embrace.

"Thank you...But... who are you...?"

The man smiled as he placed his hands together and bowed.

"I am Raiden. GOD of Thunder."

"A God..." Celestia pondered. "You are not from Equestria, are you? How did you come to this world?"

"I have traveled many realms in my long life," Raiden explained. "I came across this one and saw the tragedy you faced in banishing your sister. Though my place is needed in Earthrealm, I could not abandon someone in need."

Celestia could sense his words were true. A smile of relief spread on her face knowing that this was a man she could trust.

"Come... let us return to your home... your subjects will be worried about you," Raiden said as he and Celestia made their way back to the Castle of the Two Sisters.

From that day onward, Raiden would visit Celestia whenever his duties allowed it. The God of Thunder was a welcome guide in Celestia's life as she struggled with ruling Equestria by her lonesome.

Ultimately, the two learned to trust each other enough that Raiden told Celestia about his duties in protecting Earthrealm as well as the bloody Mortal Kombat tournament hosted by the wicked Shao Kahn of Outworld and the stakes Earthrealm faced in participating in the tournament.

Celestia understood very well what was important to Raiden and how serious his duties were. However, he promised her with his full heart that Shao Kahn would not learn of Equestria or its people. He would not allow the mad conqueror to have his way with the harmony of the world.

A thousand years had now passed and Celestia now proudly watched as her beloved pupil, Twilight Sparkle, who recently became an Alicorn Princess, enjoyed her time with her friends, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Fluttershy, and Pinkie Pie.

Thanks to Twilight and her friends managing to reawaken the Elements of Harmony upon Nightmare Moon's return, Princess Luna had returned to her normal self, free of the nightmare's influence. She tearfully apologized to her sister but Celestia assured her that all was forgiven.

Suddenly, the crackle of thunder alerted Celestia's ears as she smiled and turned around to see an old friend.

"I was wondering when you would arrive..."

"My apologies for being late, Princess. I had an urgent matter to face in Earthrealm." Raiden informed her and looked at her prize pupil. "I see your student has passed her test..."

Yes, she has come so far in such a short time." Celestia said, recalling how Twilight ascended thanks to managing to complete an unfinished spell left by the legendary Staswirl the Bearded due to the fact that he did not understand friendship the way Twilight had learned in her time in Ponyville. "How are things back on Earthrealm?"

"The Fallen Elder God, Shinnok, returned," Raiden explained, getting straight to the point. "However, his plans to conqueror Earthrealm were thwarted by the combined might of its greatest warriors allying with the kingdom of Edenia."

"I see..." Celestia frowned before smiling playfully. "Speaking of... has your student Liu Kang joined the Edenian Royals?"

Raiden sadly shook his head. "I'm afraid Liu Kang remained in Earthrealm after Shinnok was defeated. He feels that Earthrealm is his responsibility."

"Oh, that's a shame. The poor boy has no idea what he's missing." Celestia said, rather disappointed. "But I am at least glad that the realms are safe from the forces of darkness."

Looking out to the wide expanse of Equestria and all its beauty, Raiden smiled in agreement before remembering something important.

"There is one other thing you should know about; I have become one of the Elder Gods and because of that, I may be unable to return here as much as I'd wish."

"Is there no other way?" Celestia asked, heartbroken at the fact she may never see her friend again.

"My responsibilities to Earthrealm have become far too great now," Raiden said sadly. "I wish it wasn't so, but the Elder Gods decree it as such."

'If that is the case then..." Celestia pulled out an amulet with her Cutie Mark emblazoned on it, handing it to Raiden. "I want you to have this as you leave."

"What is it?"

"It is the Amulet of Faust. If anything were to happen to you or your comrades, this amulet will send their souls here to Equestria, and be reborn to start a new life. I also want you to hold onto it, to always remember me..."

Raiden smiled and used his magic to take the amulet, placing it securely on his belt as he took Celestia's hands in his.

"I will cherish it always...for the times we have spent together." The God of Thunder said as he and Celestia pressed their foreheads together, sharing one last moment before Raiden took his leave from the realm of Equestria in a flash of thunder.

I hope I don't get sued for making this fic but I wanted it to be a remake of a story with better grammar, character interactions, and more story points.

Anyway, this story is gonna ignore Mortal Kombat 9, X, 11, and 1's timeline shifts but some characters who appeared in those games will still be appearing here such as the GOAT Erron Black and Kotal Kahn.

Anyway, I hope you all enjoy what this story has to offer and all the bloody action it entails!
