Author's Note: Hello everyone! I'm posting this story on fanfiction net. It's originally on AO3 but I've decided to post it on this site as well. This story is meant for people who enjoy reading angst and hurt/comfort. That being said, I would recommend anyone who isn't comfortable with dark storylines to not read. It will be pretty dark and sad at times. There will be sensitive topics mentioned like abuse and death throughout the story. There will be a few happy moments, but overall this is a sad story.

Content Warning: major character death, violence, abuse, rape, trauma, depression, self-harm, and suicide are in this story.

This story starts in season 6 episode 15. (Canon divergence AU 6x15)

I hope you enjoy reading!

Day 1:

Regina Mills, Emma Swan, and Mary Margaret headed to the new pub in town to get their minds off everything. They wanted a break to just have a good time together after all that had happened the last few days. Hook leaving and the Evil Queen's sleeping curse had taken a toll on them all.

As the night went on, they spent their time drinking. Emma had first spotted the Mad Hatter at the bar. When she saw him, she quickly said to her mother and Regina. "Look." She told them as she slightly lifted her hand to point at the man across the room, sitting at the opposite end of the bar.

Regina and Snow only stared as Emma paced over to the seat next to him. "Jefferson, it's been a while. The last time we spoke was during the curse and I-" she paused, sighing. "I'm sorry I didn't believe you. I should have."

"Emma, hey! Nice to see you!" He said enthusiastically with his normal charm. He then shifted his eyes toward Regina; glared back at her for a long while and then made a slight glance at Snow.

Once he did that, Regina and Snow made their way toward Emma and Jefferson.

"How have you been?" Emma asked.

There was an awful long silence until he spoke again. "My dear Grace, was taken from me. She's gone." Jefferson told the three women in front of him as tears streaked his face from the grief. The shot glass was still on his lips as he drank the last sip.

"I'm sorry, Jefferson. I had no idea. What happened?" Emma responded with a soft hand over his shoulder and a sad sympathetic look.

He only sat there glaring blankly at the empty glass. "It was a while ago. I got mixed up with the Evil Queen, your evil half." He pointed toward Regina who gave him her full attention. "She became furious at me and killed her. She killed my child."

Regina shook her head, no. She didn't know how to express the guilt ridden shame. Knowing that her alter ego had done such a cruel thing to his own child made her uneasy. "You must be mistaken. It can't be-"

"It was- It was the Queen! She killed my daughter!" There was a hint of anger and resentment in his voice as he responded.

Regina gulped hard as she heard his words. She couldn't comprehend that even a version of her would kill an innocent child over a freud with the Mad Hatter. "I'm sorry." She whispered back to him, unable to bring her eyes up to his.

Jefferson sighed before he said his next words. "The three of you look tired. Why don't I take you home?"

"Oh no, Jefferson. You don't have to." Emma replied back, finishing her shot glass.

"I insist." He responded glaring back at Emma for a moment.

Snow just laughed loudly, obviously the most drunk of them all. "We can handle driving home on our own."

"Can you though?" He questioned Mary Margaret hinting that she was clearly intoxicated.

"No drinking and driving, right mayor?" He now glanced at Regina. "I'm the only sober guy here."

"Alright." Both Regina and Emma said at once. Emma then ushered her mother and Regina to turn their back toward Jefferson and talk to one another softly. "I hope this is a good idea." Emma said.

Regina's voice now dragged. "But he's right. We're tired and Snow's obviously drunk. We are definitely buzzed." She stated the obvious.

Snow now slammed her hand on her daughter's back, making Emma jump in surprise. "Darn right! And I'm ready to go home and throw up!" Snow said louder than ever. Emma turned her head away, and placed her hand to her forehead in distress, acting like she didn't know her mother.

They turned back to see Jefferson sitting at the bar stool with three shot glasses along with the one he was finishing. He now handed out the three glasses, one to each of them. Snow took hers and gulped it down with ease.

Emma and Regina stared at Jefferson for a moment and then glanced at one each other. "Really? Another?" They both questioned him.

He shrugged and replied. "The last one." Both downed the alcoholic substance. "Great! Let's go." He announced as he drank one last gulp of whiskey and rushed out the door.

As the clock hit midnight, they all stumbled out of the bar and into Jefferson's car. "Alright ladies, the first stop is Regina's house." Jefferson opened the car door, sat in the driver's seat and strapped his seatbelt. He placed his keys in the ignition, and turned on the engine. Regina opened the passenger car door to get in the seat next to Jefferson. Snow had chosen the seat behind Jefferson and Emma behind Regina's.

After only a minute of driving, the women could tell something was definitely wrong. They knew they were drunk but the feeling they were experiencing was different. It was a feeling of weakness, and utter fatigue. By now, their energy began rapidly fading. As their tired eyes looked out the window, they saw Regina's home on the left. They noticed the man kept going onward and passed the house. In that moment, Mary Margaret could feel her consciousness fade away.

"My house-" Regina breathed heavily. "You passed it." I knew we shouldn't have trusted him. How could I be this stupid?

Emma could feel her heartbeat race harder out of fear and disturbance. Her sense of security slowly drifted as she tried comprehending what was going on. At once, she realized her mind was seemingly foggy, not from alcohol, but some sort of drug in her system. "You put something-" Emma exhaled nervously. "In our shot glasses, didn't you?"

The man chuckled with a sadistic smile as he glanced back in the rearview mirror at Emma. "Yeah, I did." He then turned his head over his shoulder, and looked at Regina. "And you thought I was going to take you to your house? When were you that naive? We are going to mine, your majesty." Emma and Regina now tried their best to sit up straight though it was hard to even use any strength. Their minds raced with unpleasant thoughts. With the strength they had left, they tried using magic. Instead, both blacked out in darkness.

Regina gasped as she woke to find chains digging into her ankles and wrists. As she regained consciousness, she looked around a dark room with no light. She couldn't even see. It was just black. The air felt cold. Where the hell am I? There was silence, utter silence. All she heard, was her own rapid breathing. Her breathing was getting louder by the second as she sensed fear taking over. Her breaths became more evident when she realized she had a cloth tightly in her mouth. She knew if she yelled, her voice would only remain unheard. She couldn't scream for help. She couldn't scream for Emma or Mary Margaret because they wouldn't hear her.

She moved her hands around and noticed there was nothing, just nothing. Nothing was in the room. The only thing she could place her hands on was the cold concrete beneath her and the chains digging into her body.

She knew what she had to do. Without a second thought, she tried using her magic to break free. It felt like her heart sank out of her chest when her magic didn't work. Her magic was practically all she had to defend herself. It was everything. Without her magic, she would be a regular person, left with nothing to defend herself. She moved her right hand, placed it on her left arm, and felt a drop in her chest once again. Her breath cracked as she felt the tips of her fingers trace a magic dampening cuff around her wrist. Whatever Jefferson is planning, it isn't good. He wanted me here. That terrified her. What's he even planning to do to me? Hurt me? Kill me?

She bent down now, trying her best to follow the chains to wherever they led. It was as she feared. The chains were built into the wall. There was only one way she was getting out now. She sat down, and slid the chain against her ankle, trying to break free from her restraints. It was no use at all. She cringed in pain as the cuff rubbed against her skin. Her whole ankle was wet with blood from forcibly trying to remove it. She knew it had to be impossible when she realized she wasn't even close to getting it off. She grunted, slamming her fists against the wall in anger. She wailed as loud as she could, but only a faint cry came from her mouth. She tried her best to untie the cloth free but eventually gave up. The knot was too tight for her to undo.

As each second passed, the air grew denser causing it hard for Regina to breath. The chains that compressed against her skin led to even more discomfort. Her mouth started aching from the tightness of the cloth.

She continuously screamed for Mary Margaret or Emma Swan but neither ever came. What was I thinking trusting Jefferson? Why does he even have me here in this dark and cold place? Her thoughts raced. He can't hurt Emma or Mary Margaret! He better not hurt them! God, I hope they are okay.
