Chapter 3: The Meeting of Destiny

Hanami wakes up the next day when a sudden light shines on the room. Thinking it's the sunlight coming through the windows she initially dismisses it, but quickly realizes that is not the case and starts looking around for its source. She finally finds it coming from the Digimon sleeping nearby and sees some of them covered in the now familiar white light with bodies filled with zeros and ones.

"Hanami!" Coronamon notices she's awake and calls her over all excitedly.

"What's going on?" She gets up and moves closer, making sure to keep her eyes away from the light. She then remembers what happened with Arbormon the day before. "Are they—"

He just nods and grins, the light slowly fading as they see the new form some of the Digimon end up taking. She still recognized Kapurimon, Botamon, Kuramon and Leafmon from the previous day, but the rest of them looked either slightly or completely different than before.

The next few minutes are spent in what is basically chaos with the new Digimon excitedly moving around and talking. This last point surprised Hanami as she hadn't heard them talk before this, so she asks Coronamon about it.

"Oh yeah, most of us gain the ability to talk once we reach the Baby 2 Stage."

"Baby 2 Stage? What is—" But she's quickly cut off by one of the new Digimon grabbing her attention.

The Digimon had white fur, pinkish ears, tail and now four legs as well. It was pretty easy to tell who the Digimon had evolved from considering the shape of the Digimon hadn't changed much. The Digimon showed off to Hanami and excitedly said he wasn't Paomon anymore but Xiaomon.

"Wait, no! Let go!"

A sudden shout from Coronamon prompted her to turn around and see an admittedly funny scene. He was holding onto one of the new Digimon and was trying to pull it away from the wall, where it had found a loose plank and was biting down on it with all its might. After letting out a chuckle, she figured she'd better help him out and approached the two. It took them a few tries, but they finally managed to separate it from the wall.

She finally got a good look at the new Digimon when it started flying around. It was much longer than any of the other baby Digimon, even Kapurimon. It had a green body with a yellow belly, two big black horns, a pair of small wings and its body ended in a sort of blue tail. It looked like a small dragon.

"Is that… Petitmon?" He was the only baby Hanami could think of that was remotely similar to the new Digimon.

"I believe so", Coronamon replied.

"Not anymore! I'm Babydmon now!" the Digimon interjected, sounding really smug.

The last new Digimon hadn't made nearly as much noise as the other two, though Hanami quickly realized it was because it was curiously checking out the new tail that had grown. Aside from that, it had also grown legs and ears, and its fur had changed color from light blue to a more beige color.

She approached the Digimon that used to be Pafumon, who showed off its new tail to her after she approached. She noticed it was very soft to the touch. Coronamon quickly joined them and asked the Digimon for its name.

"Kyaromon", is all the Digimon said before going back to checking out its new features.

Coronamon and Hanami spent some time with the Digimon before they went to see Rafflesimon. This was mostly Coronamon's idea, as he wasn't sure whether they should bring the rest of the Digimon with them or have them wait in the room, now that there were more evolved ones.

"I don't think they're ready to be left alone just yet. They only just evolved, after all." He concluded.

Hanami agreed, Babydmon seemed more worried about flying around than about everyone else, Kyaromon was still obsessed over its new tail and fur color, and Xiaomon just looked like it had a lot of energy to spare. None of them seem fit to take care of themselves, let alone other baby Digimon yet.

"Alright guys, we're gonna go see Rafflesimon again, so come with me." Coronamon told the rest.

Everyone did so, with a few following him and others jumping in with Hanami. The fact that some of them evolved meant they couldn't carry them all anymore, but since Babydmon now moved around flying, and Xiaomon was enjoying moving around with its new legs, it wasn't that much of a difference compared to before.

"Umm, I think I'll just… wait for you all to be back right here, yeah." Kapurimon said.

Hanami approached him and squatted down. "Hey, what's wrong? Are you scared about the height?" Kapurimon nodded. "Don't worry, I won't let you fall. I brought you here safely, didn't I?" she said with a comforting smile.

"Y–yeah." Kapurimon thought about it for a second, but in the end took a step back and shook his head. "Sorry, I can't."

"That's alright." She turned to Coronamon. "He can wait for us here, right Coronamon?"

"Hmm, will you be fine on your own, Kapurimon?"

He nodded.

"Don't worry, we won't be long, okay?" Hanami added.

As soon as they set foot outside they were greeted by an Ajatarmon.

"I take it you're ready to meet with Rafflesimon?"

They both nodded.

"Very well, I will inform her. She's in the same place you met yesterday."

And just like that, the Digimon was gone

"As straightforward as always." Coronamon commented.

They quickly made their way back to the same building they were in the previous day and found that it was once again devoid of any of the tables from the previous day.

A Digimon who Hanami recognized from the banquet approached them when they entered, although she couldn't remember her name. It was a Digimon similar in height to the Palmon from the previous day but with a leaf on her head instead of a flower. The Digimon also seemed to have a more elegant feel to her.

"Oh, Floramon, right?" Coronamon said.

The Digimon nodded. "That's me! You're here to see Lady Rafflesimon, right?"

Hanami was surprised that he seemed to remember the Digimon so well. They had met so many the night before that she was having trouble remembering just a couple.

"Yeah, but I don't know about bringing these guys with us. Some of them are still energetic." He gestured to the newly evolved babies.

"Oh, I see some of them evolved. Don't worry about a thing, I'll look after them."

Coronamon thanked her and proceeded to go to Rafflesimon together with Hanami.

"Ah, there you are", a cheerful Rafflesimon greeted them. "I am sorry we had no better room to offer you, we had to set everything up at the last second"

"Oh no, you gave us a room to stay at, that's more than enough", Hanami replied.

They exchanged a few more pleasantries and eventually Coronamon asked Rafflesimon.

"I thought we were gonna talk more after dinner last night, did something happen?"

"Oh, I apologize about that. I— have some circumstances that prevent me from being around a crowd." She replied.

"Wait, are you alright?" Hanami asked.

Rafflesimon just smiled and assured her nothing was wrong, although she could tell that wasn't the whole story. Before she could get another word in however, the flower Digimon changed the subject.

"So, Ajatarmon arrived from Format Village a while ago."

Coronamon suddenly perked up. "What happened? What did she find? Did she see Jijimon?"

Rafflesimon shook her head. "I am afraid she could not get close enough to find Jijimon nor the rest of the baby Digimon. The village was surrounded by dark and demon-type Digimon all over."

"No way… What do we do now? Is there no way to drive them off the village?"

She shook her head. "It is unfortunate, but we do not have the power to deal with those numbers. Not to mention, the possibility of them expanding outside the village still stands. If that happens, we will have our hands full over here."

Hanami only had a vague idea of what they were talking about, but even she knew that the situation was bad.

"So, I know you came here looking for a place for all those baby Digimon", she told Coronamon, who nodded. "I cannot offer such a place myself, as you can probably imagine given the situation. However I believe BanchoLeomon might be able to help you in that regard."

"BanchoLeomon? You mean the leader of the Beast Area?" Coronamon asked.

"The same. I have already sent Ajatarmon to inform him, so he should be expecting you guys in the next few days."

She proceeded to explain to Coronamon how to get to the Beast Area, and he thanked her for her help.

Meanwhile, hearing their talk made Hanami realize there was still too much she didn't know about this world, so she spoke up.

"Um, Lady Rafflesimon—" she started, but was promptly cut off.

"Oh, you don't need to be so formal, sweetie. Everyone started calling me Lady Rafflesimon of their own accord, so just call me whatever you like", she said with a bright, pure smile.

"Oh, I see. Then, Rafflesimon. Could you help me learn more about this world? If I'll be stuck here for a while, I'd rather know what is going on."

"What, is that all? I would be happy to. Is there anything in particular you would like me to start with?"

"Well, I heard you mention areas a few times. What are they?"

Rafflesimon nodded and proceeded to explain how the Digital World is divided in multiple areas for different Digimon species, each with their own ruler to keep everything in check. The current area they were in, the Forest Area, houses all kinds of plant-type Digimon and has Rafflesimon as its ruler. The Beast Area is of course ruled by BanchoLeomon. Other than those there are the Bird, Aquatic, Machine, Insect and Dragon Areas, although she doesn't know who the rulers for those are.

She also mentioned the Angel and Dark areas, which are different from the rest. The Angel Area hovers high above the Digital World and is the only one with three rulers rather than one, those being Seraphimon, Ophanimon and Cherubimon. The Dark Area lies beneath the Digital World and is ruled by Boltboutamon, an absolute evil existence.

"The Dark Area…" Hanami spoke, "do you think they are the ones behind what's happening in Format Village?"

"It is a possibility", Rafflesimon said.

"So wait, if there is an area for all kinds of Digimon, then what about Format Village? Aren't all Digimon born and raised there?" Hanami asked.

"The areas are just the most ideal location for Digimon of that type, but there are still some that choose to live elsewhere. In addition, Baby 1 and Baby 2 Stage Digimon can Digivolve into many different types, so it is hard to tell what the ideal area for each Digimon would be. That is why, save for some special exceptions, all DigiEggs end up in Format Village, where they hatch and are raised until they reach the Child Stage. By this point everyone has pretty much figured out what kind of Digimon they want to become, so they move to the Area of their choice."

"Huh? Wait, what is 'Baby Stage' and 'Child Stage'?"

"They are the different stages of growth we Digimon go through."

Rafflesimon explained how there are six basic growth stages for Digimon, being Baby 1, Baby 2, Child, Adult, Perfect and Ultimate. She mentioned Coronamon being a Child Stage and Ajatarmon a Perfect Stage as examples. But she added that not all Digimon fit in one of these Stages, as she herself is in a level above Ultimate. She also explained that Digimon evolve to the next stage by storing enough energy, although there are unique cases where evolution happens through different means.

Hanami remembers Petaldramon's evolution, and how Coronamon called it 'degeneration', so she asks her about it. She explains it as the ability to transform into a lower Stage, rather than a higher one. She also adds that what Arbormon did was not a degeneration but a Sliding Digivolution, a type of evolution that lets the Digimon go back and forth between different forms at will.

Hanami continued to ask her questions until she was satisfied, learning stuff like how Digimon seemed to only need to learn something once for them to remember it forever. That explained how Coronamon seemed to have no issue remembering the names of every Digimon they came across, among other things.

Once they were done asking questions, Rafflesimon told them that she could have an Ajatarmon accompany them to the edge of the forest.

"I hope your trip to the Beast Area goes smoothly. It is unfortunate I cannot provide more permanent accommodations."

Hanami shook her head. "Thank you for your hospitality. I will definitely pay it back someday." She bowed.

"Oh, do not worry about that", Rafflesimon said, "all I ask is that you pass on the kindness to any Digimon in need."

She nodded. "I will try my best."

"Thank you for your help", Coronamon said.

"It was my pleasure", Rafflesimon smiled. "Just let Ajatarmon know when you are ready to go. She will guide you out of the forest."

With another nod from Coronamon, they both left Rafflesimon to herself and went to get the Digimon.

They came out of the room just in time to see Floramon scolding Kuramon for trying to scare the other two Digimon that hadn't evolved. Babydmon was now flying around everyone, seemingly past his biting phase, and Xiaomon and Kyaromon were bonding over their newfound similarities after evolution.

Coronamon and Hanami gathered the Digimon, thanked Floramon for her help and apologized for the trouble, and proceeded to go back to their room with everyone else in tow.

Once back in their room, Coronamon breaks the news to everyone that they're leaving on another trip soon. This was met with a few groans and a few glances at each other. Only Kapurimon was more than happy to leave for a place closer to the ground.

Xiaomon approached them. "Why do we have to leave again?"

Hanami noticed the sad tone on its voice, and squatted down to pat its head.

"Coronamon is just trying to find the best place for everyone. I know it must be hard to say goodbye to the places you like," she gave a sad grin at this. "but as long as you're with the people… uh, I mean, with the Digimon you like, it will be fine."

"Promise?" The Digimon said.

"I promise", she replied. "Besides, I'm sure we'll meet many new Digimon in the Beast Area. Doesn't that sound exciting?" She said that to everyone, not only Xiaomon.

"Yeah!" Everyone said excitedly.

With everyone's spirit being lifted thanks to Hanami, Coronamon took the word once again.

"Alright! In that case, we better head out now. It's gonna be a long trip."

Everyone followed him out the room, ready to tackle the trip ahead of them.

"Now, how exactly do we get down from here?" Coronamon asked, looking down at the ground and realizing how tall it actually was.

"I don't know. Last time Arbormon helped us up, but I'd rather not do that again", Hanami said, remembering what had happened when they first arrived the day before.

"Just let me know when we're back down, okay?" a scared Kapurimon said from Hanami's arms, with his eyes closed and hiding his face against her.

"Don't worry, I got you." She comforted him.

"Didn't Rafflesimon say to call on Ajatarmon when we were ready to leave?" Coronamon said. "Maybe we sho—"

Before he could finish his thought, an Ajatarmon jumped out from above.

"Quick as always, I see", he said, getting used to the Digimon appearing out of nowhere by now.

"I take it you're ready to leave?" she asked them. They both nodded. "Very well."

Ajatarmon grabbed a hold of both of them with her tentacle-like vines growing from the back of her head, then grabbed onto one of the ledges of the platform they were standing on and carefully descended to the ground.

Unlike when they were brought up by Arbormon, Hanami found this trip down to be much less stress inducing. The Digimon clearly had more experience with it.

Once on the ground Kapurimon happily jumped off Hanami's arms glad to be back on land. Ajatarmon then escorted them to the edge of the forest on the north, which Hanami estimated took 30 minutes to an hour, but it was hard to tell without a clock on hand. Now that she thought about it, she didn't even know how time worked in the Digital World.

The area outside the forest was similar to the one Hanami arrived in the day before, a big plain full of the greenest grass. But this time it wasn't as empty, she could see the terrain becoming more rocky and uneven in the distance.

"We're here." Ajatarmon pointed to the side where the terrain became more rocky. "Follow the path to the northeast and you'll end up in the Beast Area eventually."

Both Coronamon and Hanami thanked her, she gave them a nod and returned to the forest. And just like that they were left all alone with a long trip ahead of them.

The first steps of the trip went smoothly as the baby Digimon were excited to reach the Beast Area. Most of them were playing together – Kuramon and Botamon had jumped off Coronamon's arms on their own to join everyone else, while Leafmon was just content with staying on top of Hanami's head.

For their part, Coronamon and her were talking about the Forest Area, about how nice everyone was and how many different plant Digimon there were. They definitely had to go back for a visit at some point.

But of course, after quite a while of walking with the only change in scenery being the forest growing ever farther and the rocky terrain growing ever closer, the baby Digimon became bored. She wasn't surprised, walking for so long with no end in sight was getting to her as well, so of course the Digimon wouldn't be able to handle it. The problem was that when one of the Digimon started complaining about being bored, everyone else joined in, and she knew it wouldn't be long before they stopped walking altogether.

After pondering for a bit she came up with an idea: they could play a simple game of Shiritori to pass the time, a game where everyone took turns saying a word that started with the last letter of the previous word. She figured it would also help Babydmon, Kyaromon and Xiaomon learn more words and told Coronamon her idea, who was down to try it out.

It didn't last long however, as Hanami soon realized. Coronamon and the rest of the Digimon were having a hard time using the correct words, but the strangest thing was that Coronamon was adamant he was doing it right.

"That's strange", she said. "Are you certain that 'tree' starts with the last letter of the word 'car'?"

"Doesn't it?" Coronamon replied, making it sound like it was obvious.

"And you think 'star' doesn't start with the last letter of 'grass'?"

"Umm, no?" He said confused. "Is this a trick question?"

She shook her head. "No no, I'm just confused." She paused, suddenly realizing something. "Hold on, I didn't think about it before but how come you know Japanese?"

"Huh, who's Japanese? Is it another human?"

"What? No no, it's not a person, it's a language."

"I don't think I follow", he said.

That left her dumbfounded. "What do you mean? That's—"

"Come ooon, let's plaaay!" A bored Babydmon cut her off.

"Oh, um, sorry. I guess we'll have to think of a different game", she said, having something else to add to the ever growing list of mysteries of the Digital World.

After that they tried any games they could come up with, this time ones that didn't require a good use of the language. In the end, the one that the Digimon seemed to like the most was tag. She, as well as Coronamon, decided not to join in and instead opted to just watch everyone else. It would be awkward for her to play with her current outfit, after all. They did have to make a special rule for Babydmon to stay close to the ground, otherwise the other Digimon wouldn't be able to reach him.

The trip proceeds much more smoothly after that and they keep moving forward until they reach the rocky area proper. With the ground now uneven, Hanami is more careful with her step, as her choice of footwear—a pair of sandals—wasn't the ideal pick for this environment. She also notices the ground is slightly tilted upwards, heading towards the mountains in the distance. Ugh, my legs are gonna hurt tomorrow. She thinks to herself.

"Alright everyone, that's enough playing now. We're gonna have to be careful how we move from here", Coronamon said.

All the Digimon that were playing groaned, but he set his foot down and they eventually complied. Some of the Digimon took the chance to jump back up to Hanami's arms.

The next few hours—or at least it felt like that to Hanami—was as uneventful as the rest of the trip so far. The grass was slowly disappearing with only a few patches left here and there.

What really caught her attention was the fact they hadn't seen any Digimon since leaving the Forest Area. She asked Coronamon about it, who explained that Digimon tend to live in one of the main areas, so all the space between is usually deserted.

"Typically, only traveling Digimon or ones that enjoy solitude are found in these places", he added.

"Coronamon, what's wrong?" A confused Hanami asked when he suddenly stopped.

The Digimon had its gaze fixed somewhere so she turned in its direction. That's when she noticed the figure far in the distance.

"Is that a Digimon?" She asked.

"Yes." He didn't avert his gaze.

"Is it… good?"

"Let's hope so." He looked around, looking for something that could help them in case the Digimon wasn't down for a chat. Nothing.

He did see a small mountain in the distance which could probably serve as a hiding spot, but it was too far away from where they were, they'd never make it in time.

The Digimon was getting closer, so he had to think of something.

"Hanami", he called to her, keeping watch of the mysterious Digimon. "It doesn't look like we'll be able to avoid this one."

"Then, what do we do? Do we wait and hope they're good?"

He shook his head. "The risk is too high if that's not the case. And we can't exactly go back to Format Village if we were to become DigiEggs now that it's been taken over. I'll have to fend it off. You have to take the babies and run."

"What? No! But then you'd…"

He didn't say anything.

Hanami felt powerless. She wanted to say something, to tell him she would take care of it and everything would be alright, but she couldn't. She wasn't strong, she didn't have any kind of weapon. She couldn't even run fast enough with her clothes.

"Alright go! I will—" He suddenly stopped and turned towards the Digimon that was coming. It was now close enough to distinguish its features: it looked like a giant black spider. Hanami shuddered at the sight of it, it was even more terrifying than the BlackGarurumon they had faced before.

"...eeel…"

She heard a sound coming from the direction of the Digimon.

"Oh no!"

Coronamon looked in horror, but not because of the spider Digimon. She saw it too: there was something in front of it which seemed to be running from it.

"Heeeeeelp! It's gonna eat meeeee!"

It was a second Digimon, it looked like it was also a baby Digimon. How did it end up here?

"Shoot! Change of plans!" Coronamon started running towards the two new Digimon, almost on instinct. "I'll buy some time for the Digimon to escape!" He shouted, "Take it with you!"

The new baby Digimon noticed the group and gave it its all to reach them. "Please help me!"

Hanami's heart strained, seeing the small creature running for its life. She wanted to help so badly but her body wouldn't listen to her. She just watched as Coronamon reached the two Digimon.

"Corona Knuckle!"

Coronamon's fists were covered in flames and hit the giant spider Digimon head on, knocking it aside just in time to save the other one from being eaten.

The small Digimon stopped in its tracks and looked behind it, only to be told by Coronamon to keep running as the spider Digimon shook the hit off and changed its target. It quickly went for a bite and Coronamon just barely stopped it from succeeding.

"Petit Prominence!"

Suddenly, Coronamon's body became cladded in fire and the Digimon took a step back.

Coronamon noticed the baby Digimon was still standing just a few meters away, not moving. "Hanami! Grab the Digimon and go!"

"I— I can't!"

"Please! I know you must be scared, but you're its only hope!"

She noticed the baby Digimon was also unable to move. He was right, he couldn't do anything due to the spider Digimon so she had to go in and save the Digimon, otherwise it would be turned into a DigiEgg and it would go back to Format Village. She couldn't let that happen.

She left the baby Digimon she was carrying down onto the ground.

"Stay right here, okay? I'll be right back." Everyone nodded.

She then turned to face the new baby Digimon, closed her eyes, took a deep breath and started running to it, praying that Coronamon could keep the spider Digimon busy long enough.

Meanwhile, Coronamon had managed to put some distance between himself and the spider Digimon while slowly luring it away from the baby Digimon. But soon after, the Digimon started running towards him again, so he did the same. The Digimon hit him head on while he tried to tackle it with his shoulder, still covered in fire. The clash did little more than make the Digimon take a few steps back while he got launched backwards a few meters, extinguishing his fire.

Realizing the baby Digimon was now the closest, the Digimon quickly changed targets again and sprinted towards them.

"Ugh, Hanami! Run!" Coronamon's voice came from a distance.

She turned and watched in horror as the Digimon left the knocked down Coronamon in favor of the baby Digimon, and now her. Adrenaline pumping, she ran full speed to the small Digimon, and in a desperate move threw herself to the ground to cover it, turning her back against the spider Digimon and bracing for the impact.

She waited for one… two… three seconds, but nothing happened. She slowly opened her eyes and realized there was a blinding light coming from behind her, so she shielded her eyes and turned around. Strangely enough, the light didn't actually hurt her eyes, although the same couldn't be said for the spider Digimon, who had stopped in its tracks blinded by it.

Hanami looked at the source of the light, as did the baby Digimon, and noticed a symbol floating in the air that looked like a pink flower petal. She didn't know what it was but she could feel it calling to her. She reached out to grab it and it became smaller, the light getting dimmer, until it transformed into a device similar to a phone and the light completely disappeared.

She stared at the new device in her hand for a few seconds, before realizing the light had gone away and the spider Digimon was shaking off the after effects of being blinded by it.

"Darkness Wave!"

The Digimon, which had launched itself towards the two in a desperate move, was suddenly attacked by a swarm of bats that seemed to have come from nowhere. Just a mere seconds after this, the Digimon became a Digiegg and went flying towards Format Village.

The bats flew up shortly after and she followed them with her gaze. That's when she noticed a figure cladded in black up in the sky, which seemed to absorb all the bats that flew its way. The figure hovered in place long enough for Hanami to make out the silhouette of a humanoid winged demon.

She looked at Coronamon, trying to get some answers from him. Instead, she just saw the pure horror on his face as he stared at the mysterious figure. She looked back at it and noticed it was looking straight in her direction.

"Tch!"

The figure seemed annoyed about something, but she couldn't ponder it for long as it flew away towards a small mountain in the distance shortly after.

"Is it gone?" The baby Digimon in her arms asked her, snapping Hanami back to her senses.

"Yeah, it's over now, don't worry." She petted the Digimon, who seemed to enjoy the gesture.

She then looked up, noticed Coronamon struggling to get up and ran to him. "Coronamon! Are you ok?"

"Yeah, I'm fine." He tried to tough it up, but it was clear he wasn't. "But let's get moving before that Digimon decides to come back."

"Who? The one that saved us? Who was that, anyways?"

"That was LadyDevimon," he said, "she was one of the Digimon that took over Format Village."

"What!? But she just saved us! Are you certain it was that Digimon?"

He nodded. "No way I'd forget. There was a whole group of them. They were so ruthless…"

Strange. If that's the case, why would she leave us alone?

"Come on, we have to move." Coronamon finally managed to get up.

"Right."

They started walking to where everyone was, but after seeing that Coronamon couldn't move too fast, some of the Digimon waiting started running towards them.

"So, who's the new guy?" He asked.

She looked down at the Digimon she'd been holding, realizing she hadn't asked for its name yet.

"Hey, I'm no guy!" The Digimon said. "I'm Nyaromon!"

Hanami couldn't help but let out a chuckle. It was a fitting name for a Digimon with cat features like the ears and tail. It still shared the typical round shape of a Baby 2 Digimon, however.

"Huh? What's so funny?" Nyaromon asked.

"Oh, it's nothing. It's a good name."

"Right!?" Nyaromon seemed proud about it.

Once everyone was back together they continued the trip. Hanami had offered to stop and rest for a bit, as Coronamon was hurt and couldn't move properly, but he refused saying there was no way of knowing when LadyDevimon would come back or if she'd be alone.

For her part, Nyaromon stuck around in Hanami's arms, not wanting to interact with the rest of the Digimon just yet.

"By the way Hanami, what's that?" Coronamon pointed to the strange device she was holding in her hand. She had forgotten about it.

"I don't know," she looked at it. "I was hoping you could tell me"

He shook his head. "Sorry, no idea."

She was at a loss. The device was no longer shining like when it first appeared. It looked like some kind of mobile phone, but aside from a small screen she could see no buttons on it. She did notice the shape of the device was strangely similar to the flower petal she had seen in that blinding light.

However, one thing was certain: if it wasn't for this device she probably wouldn't be alive right now, not to mention the Digimon that had saved them, LadyDevimon. She still didn't know what was going on, if what Coronamon said was really true and she was indeed one of the Digimon that attacked the village, then why would she save them. What did she have to gain from it?

Without any other hints, she decided to focus on the task at hand and try to get to the Beast Area as soon as possible. Maybe she'd find some answers there.
