Otabin looked behind him and saw Amity standing there. Her legs were shaking like she was wearing shorts in a blizzard, but she was there.

"G-g-get away from... from her." Amity said, trying, and failing, to hide her fear.

Otabin turned his attention to her and began to move towards her, causing Amity to hold up a red book with a Bard coven symbol on it. Amity flipped through the pages before quickly reading a spell. By the time Otabin got to her, she put her fingers to her lips and let out a whistle. A blast of sound came from her whistle and hit Otabin, knocking him back. Luz noticed that it was the colors of the lesbian flag.

'Okay, there's no way that's a coincidence.' Luz thought.

Luz noticed that Otabin was distracted and she got up. Luz ran and jumped at Otabin, delivering a strong punch, sending him to the ground. Luz grabbed him and held him over her head, easily throwing him across the entrance area. Luz rushed over to Amity and grabbed her by the shoulders. Amity once again felt how different this touch was compared to her mother's touch.

"Amity, you need to get out of here." Luz said.

"No, I won't leave you." Amity said, holding the Bard book to her chest.

'I'm not going to be scared this time, not when I have the power to help now.' Amity thought.

"Amity, you and the twins aren't immortal, I am, I can take anything he throws at me." Luz said.

"But I know how to stop him." Amity said, "I've read that book more times than I can count, I know how to beat him."

Otabin began to get up, which caused Amity and Luz to turn their attention back to him. Amity put her fingers back up to her lips and let out another whistle. Otabin stopped and covered his ears.

"His ears are large, and very sensitive to loud noises." Amity said, holding the book, "A bard using their magic can send a strong enough wave of sound magic to cause that."

"You sure know a lot about Bard magic." Luz noticed, "I thought mixing magic was illegal."

"I... just... like the arts." Amity said, looking away.

She didn't like it when people found out, because she knew her mom would be told and that never leads to anything.

"How high does the pitch have to be to do damage?" Luz asked.

"My normal whistle is around 80 decibels, but with my bard magic, I can get it up 120." Amity said, "It's enough to stun him."

"That's impressive." Luz said, "But let me try it, I'm going to distact him, you get the twins out of here!"

Luz began to change and became a Howler Monkey. She quickly climbed the bookshelves and ran at him. She began to put the Howler in Howler monkey. The sound caused immense pain to Otabin, which allowed Amity to lead the twins to the exit. Unfortunately, Otabin swiped his hand, trying to knock Luz away, but due to the pain he was in, he stumbled and actually swiped at the twins and Amity, knocking them down, and making their concealment stones fall off. Luz noticed them, not to the full extent, but knew that they were down and vulnerable.

'No!' Luz thought.

Changing quickly, Luz turned into a cheetah. Sure, they were pretty much useless in a fight, but for short distance like this, they would be unmatched. She jumped off the shelf and ran towards them, before turning back and punching Otabin, sending him across the room. Luz turned back to make sure they were all right, and she was... horrified. She looked at Edric's hands, and saw dozens of scars on them, and judging by the way his fingers were slightly bent, they were most likely crushed at least once. Luz looked at Emira, seeing a horrific looking burn scar covering almost 90 percent of her face, and possibly part of her body if the scar going down her neck into her shirt was anything to go by, and her eyes were clouded.

'So she is blind.' Luz thought, 'I had a feeling, but... she's so burnt.'

And then there was Amity. Luz had heard a thousand stories from her mom about the past, but looking at Amity, Luz felt more disturbed just by looking at the frail and damaged girl in front of her than hearing all those stories in graphic detail. Luz was so distracted that she didn't even see Otabin getting up and coming over to them. He raised his clawed hand and went to slam it on Luz, but he didn't seem to realize how much of a Mama's Boy Titan was. Titan came out of his hiding spot and bit down on Otabins chest, right where the book is. His teeth went right through the book, destroying it. Otabin screamed as he disappeared. Titan fell to the ground and went over to Luz, wrapping around her like usual. Luz just stood there while Amity grabbed the concealment stones and rushed the twins out, too nervous to even look at Luz. Luz stood there for a good few minutes after they left, unsure of what to do.

"W-w-what happened to them?" Luz asked no one, before looking around, "I should probably fix this place up."

As she went to work cleaning, she couldn't stop thinking about Amity and the twins.

"I'll get to the bottom of this, I promise."
