3It's been over 3 weeks since the break in, Bluey was starting to return to her old happy self and her black eye was now completely gone. Bluey had been doing well at school, by becoming more open with her friends like before. But only her friends, but her family too. After a while she started and began to play games again with her sister, father, and mother once again. But there were some personal demons left inside Bluey, such as the trauma of getting punched in the face and knocked to the ground. But that's why she continued going to more therapy with her mum or dad, and with Dr Doberman's help she was learning to cope with the pain much better with breathing exercises. Today was another therapy session with Dr Doberman and they talked about handling it by touching her eye and stopping the demons from overcoming it. When the session ended, Bluey walked out of his office and turned back to him with a smile.
Bluey: Thanks Dr Doberman!
Bailey: No problem. Have a good day.
Bluey: You too.
Bailey nodded and closed to the door, letting Bluey walk back into the hallway with her father, who saw her coming and stood up from the sofa. Bandit and Bluey shared a quick hug.
Bandit: Hey, kiddo. Ready to go home.
Bluey: Yeah!
Bandit just chuckled and took his daughter's hand as they walked towards the exit. Then they walked to the car and they drove all the way back home, where Chilli was in the middle of making pasta for supper and Bingo was reading about outer space. They returned home and Bandit, Bluey and Bingo played a game of space explorers and pretended to be on mars, with Pat and Lucky both being aliens and the Heelers pushing them back. When dinner finally came around, the Heelers sat down and the girls chowed down on the pasta, because it was delicious, especially garlic bread. During the time, Bluey told about her session with
After supper, Bandit got out some ice cream for the girls which made happy. But during the desert, Chilli had decided that now was the time to announce something to the girls, something that's been happening for 3 weeks.
Chilli: Hey, Bluey? Bingo? Me and your father wanna tell you something.
Bingo: What is it?
Chilli: Well, tomorrow is Saturday and we're gonna go and visit your aunt Brandy.
Bluey: We are?
Bandit: Yeah, dcon't you remember her?
Bingo: Yeah! We played African safari with the onesies she got us!
Chilli: Excatly. She's asked to come visit and she has a surprise for you both.
Bluey and Bingo immediately stopped eating and gulped down their dessert, looking at their mum with faces of excitement, which what Bandit and Chilli expected.
Bluey: A surprise? What kind of surprise?
Chilli: Oh, you'll see.
Bingo: Do you know what it is? they.
Bandit: We do, but we're not revealing anything.
Bluey: Will we love the surprise?
Chilli: Yes. You certainly will.
It was the next day on Saturday morning, which was the day of visiting Aunt Brandy. Bluey and Bingo had their breakfast and packed up the things they were gonna take with them, because it was gonna be an all day trip. They all piled into the car and they drove off towards Brandy's apartment, across the city of Brisbane. When they were all piled in the car, Bandit took his keys and started the engine, where they drove out of the driveway and towards Brandy's apartment. As they drove down the road, Bluey looked out the window and saw the cars, people, and buildings passing by. Bluey was thinking about Brandy's last visit with the onesies. She couldn't put her finger on it, but she still couldn't wonder how she still couldn't have the thing she wished for.
Bluey: Mum? Dad?
Bandit: What's up, Bluey?
Bluey: Is aunt Brandy gonna be happy to us?
Chilli: Of course she will, Bluey? Why do you ask?
Bluey: I don't know, I guess it was because she couldn't have the thing she wanted.
Chilli: Oh, Bluey. You don't have to worry about that anymore.
Bluey: Why?
Chilli: Because, Bluey, we have the strength to overcome and the will to overcome.
Bluey: What's will?
Bandit: Will is to do something that's hard or easy?
Bingo: You mean like how we fought back the aliens from yesterday?
Chilli: Excatly.
Bluey: Oh!
Chilli: Yeah, just like how you have the will to fight the turmoil inside you of the break in.
Bluey just thought about what her mother said, about will to do something and overcome any obstacles, just like how she's been going to therapy to help with her trauma of the break in. And maybe Brandy has found a way and the will to handle with what she can't have.
Bluey: Thank you, mum.
Chilli: Of course, sweetheart.
Chilli just smiled at Bluey, seeing how mature and smart she is, including her overcoming her own trauma like a big and strong child. They drove through town and into parts of the big city, seeing everyone going by their days. Then after driving for almost an hour, they arrived at a small house painted mint green with only one floor, but had a basement with windows, which also stood between a yellow house and a white house. They parked in the driveway and Bandit shut off the engine, where they looked at the house.
Bandit: Okay, is this the place?
Chilli: It is, the address says.
Bandit and Chilli both nodded and unbuckled, before climbing out of the car. Then Bluey and Bingo unbuckled and climbed out of the car, shutting the doors. Then they all looked at the front door and saw it open, Brandy coming out with a cheerful smile. She saw her sister and her family and walked down the steps, walking towards them and reached her arms out to her sister, hugging her upon approaching her.
Brandy: Chilli!
Chilli: Hey, Brandy! It's good to see you.
Brandy: Me too.
Brandy then turned to Bandit and shook his hand generously. Then Brandy turned to Bingo and Bluey, with a happy smile.
Bingo: Hello, Aunt Brandy.
Brandy: Hello, girls. It's wonderful to see you.
Bluey: Yeah.
Brandy: Hey, Bluey. I heard about the break in from your mum. How are you feeling?
Bluey: I'm doing much better.
Brandy: That's Nice. And hey, your black eye is gone.
Bluey: Yep!
Brandy: Wonderful. Now let's come inside, so I can give you girls the big surprise.
Brandy walked back to the house as the girls behind her giggled, following their aunt with Bandit and Chilli following too. They walked up the steps and entered the house, going into the living room. The girls looked around and didn't see anything that looked like a surprise or anything wrapped in gift wrapping with a ribbon. The girls just walked over to the couch and sat down, looking up at their aunt with cheerful grins.
Bingo: So, where's the big surprise?
Brandy: Just wait here and I'll get it.
Bluey: Is it onesies?
Brandy: No.
Bingo: Is it a bouncy house?
Brandy: No.
Bluey: Is it toys?
Chilli: No, Bluey.
Bluey and Bingo: Then what is it?!
Brandy: Shh. Just wait here and I'll show you. But close your eyes first.
Bluey and Bingo just covered their eyes and Brandy began to walk to the other room, motioning her sister to follow her to the next room. As Chilli and Brandy walked to the other room, Bandit sat down in a chair next to the couch and looked at Bingo and Bluey, seeing Bluey peeking her hand out to see.
Bandit: Nah, ah, ah, ah! No peeking.
Bluey: Ah, drat.
Bluey just grumbled playfully as she covered her eye, making Bandit chuckle and Bingo giggle. Just then Brandy and Chilli came back into the living room with the special surprise in Brandy's hands. Brandy sat down in a second chair next to them while Chilli stood in front of Bluey and Bingo.
Chilli: Alright, girls. Open your eyes.
Bluey and Bingo opened their eyes and looked at their mum, in their hands, and the coffee table, but didn't see any surprise. But Chilli pointed to her sister and the Heeler girls looked at her, seeing something about her hands. Immediately the girls became speechless as they got off the couch and walked towards Brandy, looking at the surprise in her arms. It was a little baby, the same baby that Brandy found in the alley 3 weeks ago. The baby had the same appearence as Chilli and Brandy, making him a red heeler, and was sleeping in her arms so peacefully while wearing a white diaper. Bluey and Bingo looked at the baby with surprised faces with Bluey the most surprised, wondering how Brandy finally got what she wished for after so long.
Bingo: Is that...
Bluey: What? But how...
Brandy: Surprise. You now have a new baby cousin.
Bluey: But...But how? Is it a girl?
Brandy: No. It's boy.
Bingo: Oh. What's the baby's name?
Brandy: His name is Leo. Leo Mort Cattle.
Bluey and Bingo: Awwww.
Bluey and Bingo made adorable faces at the baby which made the adults smile. Just then Leo let out a quiet yawn and opened his eyes, revealing them to be green. Leo made an adorable baby stretch from napping for a while and turned to his older cousins, making wide eyes upon looking at them.
Bingo: Hi, Leo. We're your cousins!
Bluey: It's nice to meet you.
Leo just looked at them with wide eyes before he made a toothless smile and giggled in Brandy's arms, happy to meet his older cousins for the very first time. Brandy just smiled and rubbed her finger on his stomach. But Bluey was still confused about how Brandy got her own child. Bluey just turned to her mum and made a confused face, which Brandy, Bandit, and Chilli understood.
Bluey: But mum? How Aunt Brandy she have a baby?
Chilli: Well, I knew you'd ask that. Sit down and we'll tell you.
Bluey and Bingo just walked to the couch and sat down.
Bingo: So, how did Aunt Brandy have a baby?
Bluey: Yeah, doesn't Leo have a daddy?
Brandy: Well, Girls, I'm not technically his biological mother. Leo is actually adopted. I found him outside in an alley of the restaurant I work at.
Bingo: Oh. Wait? What was he doing in the alley?
Brandy and Chilli both looked at each other for a second, feeling a bit nervous about how the girls will not like what they'll hear. The girls looked at their parents faces and were confused a bit, but Bandit looked at the Cattle sisters, giving them a nod to have the will to tell the truth, which they agreed. Brandy took a deep breath and looked at the girls before speaking.
Chilli: Well, you see girls. Leo was...left behind by his real parents.
Bluey and Bingo: WHAT!?
Bluey and Bingo became horrified and shouted, which made Leo squirm in his mother's arms and whimpered from the loudness. But Brandy calmed him down and Chilli put her finger over her mouth, gesturing her daughters to be quiet and use their inside voices.
Bluey and Bingo: Sorry.
Brandy: It's alright, girls. But it is sad. After I found him, I called the police and they spent 4 days looking for his parents while I watched over him.
Bluey: Like a babysitter?
Brandy: Yeah, like a babysitter. But when the police did find Leo's parents...Well, they didn't seem to want him at all.
Bingo: *Gasp!* That's horrible. Poor Leo.
Chilli: We know, Bingo. But your aunt Brandy founded Leo and she got to adopt him because she found him in the alley, and because of her good job at taking care of him.
Brandy: That's right. I even contacted your parents and told them about Leo, which made them very happy. We also filed out the adoption papers, got his room ready, and picked out some toys for him. So now he's my son and will live with me.
Bluey just smiled a little, a bit better that Leo was in a much better place with someone who loves her. But she still couldn't get over the fact that Leo was abandoned by his own mum and dad, much like Mackenzie, even though he wasn't technically left behind. Bluey just hopped off the couch again and walked over to aunt Brandy, looking down at Leo with a face of remorse, feeling bad for what happened to Leo. Chilli saw Bluey's sorrow from behind and walked over to her daughter, placing her hand on her shoulder.
Bluey: Poor Leo. It must be so sad.
Chilli: Oh, it's okay, Bluey. Sometimes these things happen to children, but they can still find the right families who love them in many ways.
Bluey: Like Leo?
Chilli: Like Leo.
Chilli smiled and nodded in response, which made Bluey smile a bit. Then she turned back to Leo and saw him looking at her with a smile on his face, completely cheerful and happy. Bluey then gingerly reached out her finger to Leo and he took it with his right hand, making Bluey smile more.
Bluey: Hello, Leo. It's wonderful that your our cousin now.
Leo just giggled in his new mother's arms and as Bluey got closer Leo whacked her gently in the face with his hand near her right eye. Immediately Bluey froze, feeling a chill up her spine and her reflecting back when Ross hit her in the face. It was a trauma trigger that hit Bluey, making her pale. But after a few moments, Bluey remembered the excerises Bailey Doberman taught her to handle stress. So she closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and did her best to hold her feelings together. Then she opened her eyes and looked back at Leo, seeing him so happy. Bluey just smiled and gave him a gentle pat on the head, making him giggle in his mother's arms. Bluey then walked back to the couch and sat back down, feeling her happiness coming back.
Brandy: Thank you, Bluey.
For the rest of the day they stayed at Aunt Brandy's. They talked about plans for Leo, what everyone has been doing since they last saw each other, and Bluey talked about her therapy sessions with Doctor Doberman. Afterwards they all went to the small backyard and played a little game of bugs. Bandit was the big bad beetle and the others were the ants and they had to stop the beetle from taking their harvest for the winter. They won, and Leo even bonked Bandit on the nose upon victory, making everyone laugh. Then they had lunch and the parents talked to each other at the table while Bluey and Bingo played their tablets in the living room. But soon it was time to return home. The Heelers climbed into the car and Brandy walked out to say goodbye with Leo, jumping in her arms all playfully.
Brandy: Goodbye everyone. Thank you all so much for coming.
Chilli: Of course. We'll see you soon, Brandy. And you too, Leo.
Bandit: Goodbye, Brandy. Goodbye Leo.
Bluey and Bingo: Goodbye aunt Brandy! Goodbye Leo!
Brandy: Goodbye everyone. Say bye bye Leo.
Brandy just raised her son's hand and made it wave, making Leo giggle. Bandit then started the car and pulled out of Brandy's driveway, with Chilli, Bluey, and Bingo waving goodbye to aunt Brandy and Leo from the car. then Bandit drove down the road and Bluey and Bingo looked back from the back window as Brandy and Leo watched them go until they were out of sight. Bluey and Bingo then looked back ahead as they drove down the road back. Bandit looked in the rear view mirror and saw Bluey looking out the window with a smile, feeling a slight of pride that her daughter was happy.
Bandit: Hey, Bluey. I saw you a little spooked when Leo gave you that little bump near your eye.
Bluey: You did?
Bandit: Yeah, but you were able to take a deep breath and had the will to come back. And I'm proud of you for that.
Bluey: Oh, thank you, dad.
Chilli: Of course, Bluey. You're sure a tough cookie.
Bluey: Thank you.
Bluey just smiled at her mother's words as she turned to the window and looked out, seeing the sky turning yellow and the sun starting to set. It was beautiful to see it everyday when something great happens. Bluey was feeling proud as well, happy that she was able to push away the bad stuff. But Bluey couldn't help but make a little frown and tear up a little, feeling thoughts of a little anxiety in her mind. She was just remembering what led up to her troubles and it was making her a bit depressed. Bluey wondered if this would happen again, or everything she worked for to overcome her trauma would fall apart, or if it would happen to Leo. But Bluey had her mother, father, sister, Dr Doberman, and all her friends to help her. Bluey then opened her eyes and looked up back into the sky as they drove, seeing the sky again. Bluey made a sniffle and wiped her eye making a cheerful smile again as she looked back out the window, feeling that everything was gonna be okay.
The End.
