8: Trick or treat

Time passed as it always does, and before Harry knew it September had given away to October.
Classes were interesting. Harry had been shown to be the most learned, and the most powerful student in the fifth year. However, it had not all been smooth sailing.
First Minister Fudge had tried to have another of his flunkies take over the Defense Against the Dark Arts position. Harry himself couldn't smack him down since he was already in the grate hall when Fudge had shown up, and his leaving just before Solar showed up would have made people suspect him of being Solar.
Thankfully Katty hadn't come down to breakfast before Fudge showed up, and so she had been able to hide and transform into Star, and after turning transparent flew through the walls so she could witness how Fudge would screw over the students. After all she would need that knowledge in order to smack him down.

"And in closing I don't want to hear any of this nonsense about You-know-who being back. He is dead! The dead can't come back to life" Fudge said with all the importance he could muster. It wasn't that much.
"Is that your final position minister" a whispering voice echoed around the hall.
"Who said that" Fudge demanded while looking around for the source of the voice.
"I did."
This time no one could miss the figure hovering in mid-air that was between the Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw tables. She was dressed in a sleeveless green dress that came down to just below mid-thigh. The crown she wore gave her a regal beauty that few could match. The bow she usually carried on her back was now held in both hands and was pointed up at the ceiling. Several students and staff were wondering where she had come from, and why none of them had seen her before now.
"Who are you" Fudge demanded as he took a step away from the figure.
"I am Star, the elemental guardian of air. I have just arrived after my partner Solar let me know where he ended up after our dimensional jump, and I have to say that anyone who wants to limit what a student is able to learn, is lower than dirt in our eyes."
Harry had to fight to keep from breaking out into a grin. Star had voiced his, Pansy's, and Susan's thoughts perfectly.
Fudge stomped his foot while twisting his lime green bowler hat in his hands. "I don't care" he said. "I will not hear any more of this nonsense. Arrest her!"
Before any of the aurors could take a single step Star pointed at Fudge, and without warning he dropped to the floor choking as if he couldn't breathe.
"Don't think just because we fight for Justess that we will not take a life. We are not about what is good. We, the elemental guardians, are about balance. Because of this we have no problem removing anyone who works to unbalance the world we are in. You minister Fudge are at the moment 1 of those people. So, I suggest you sit down and shut up. Cause problems for this school again, and you won't survive the wrath we unleash on you."
Fudge collapsed to the floor as Star released her hold over him. He stared up at her in fear.
"Fortunately for you we are here for another purpose" Star continued. "So, for now, you just leave the running of the school to those who have a true interest in running a school. Not using it as a political tool."
With those words Star flew out the skylights that were used by owls and disappeared into the sky.
Susan spoke into the silence, "Well maybe now we can get some competent instruction for defense in here."

If that hadn't been enough, 1 day Harry had been cornered by Cho Chang, Marietta Edgecombe, Hannah Abbot, Daphne Greengrass, Tracy Davis, Lavender Brown, and Parvati Patel.
Harry sighed. "What can I do for you ladies?"
It was Cho that took the lead. "We were all wondering who you wanted to date while you were here at Hogwarts."
Harry slumped. "While it is true that I can date anyone I like, I am not able to make any kind of promise as to the any kind of future."
Daphne frowned. "Why is that" she asked.
"Because I learned when I visited Gringotts that I have what they call a mystery marriage contract. "
The girls with him looked puzzled. "What's a mystery marriage contract" Hannah asked.
Harry grimmest. "I know there is a marriage contract. I know it is with 1 witch. I know her family was once considered dark. However, I am not allowed to know who the witch is until certain conditions are met. I'm not even allowed to know what the conditions are."
All the girls looked angry at those words. "So, what happens if you try to marry someone before any of the conditions are met" Lavender asked.
Harry looked thoughtful. "If none of the conditions have been met then the contract passes down to 1 of my descendants."
It was Marietta that frowned this time. "And if even 1 of the conditions have been met?"
Harry looked up at those questions, and the girls could see how scared he was. "If even 1 condition has been met and I try to marry anyone except the witch I am contracted to, I will lose my magic."
The girls gasped.
So, I hope you can see why I am not looking for a girlfriend just yet."
All the girls nodded. Cho and Daphne thanked him for listening and explaining what none of their business was really, and everyone went their separate ways.

The day before Halloween Harry was sitting with Susan and Hannah when his dimensional phone rang. "Oh, for Merlin sakes! " Harry exclaimed. "What's happening now." Harry pulled his phone out and accepted the call.
"Potter here.
Yes shadow.
WHAT!
Ok I'll let Solar know.
By the way, why do you always call me first? Why not call solar directly?
You have got to be kidding.
That goof! Ok I'll get a hold of him and pass along the message. As well as my displeasure.
Yeah, you're probably right, he would kick my arse.
Good by Shadow."
After disconnecting the call Harry rose from the table and walked up to Professor Dumbledore.
The students whispered among themselves as Harry approached the head table.
"Ah Mr. Potter" Albus said, his eyes twinkling. "What seems to be the problem this time?"
Harry bent down and spoke into Albus's ear.
Albus Paled. "Thats a lot."
Harry nodded. "I need to let Solar know there's another attack coming this way."
"By the way " Albus stopped Harry before he could leave. "What had you so surprised during your call?"
Harry scowled. "Solar has the same kind of phone I have for talking with the elementals that looked after me for the last 4 years. However, whenever Shadow tries to call him directly, and inform him of an incoming attack, the call always goes to voice mail. However, whenever I call him, he always picks up on the first or second ring."
Albus nodded. "How many attackers should we expect this time?"
Harry lent down and whispered something more into Albus's ear. Albus looked shocked.
"That's a lot."
Harry nodded again. "If you will excuse me headmaster. I'll make that call."
At albus's nod, Harry walked away, and pulled out his phone again. "Solar this is Harry Potter.
Don't give me that. If you would answer your phone when Shadow calls, I wouldn't have to be the 1 to tell you when there is a fiend attack coming.
Yes.
From what Shadow said. There will be 5 attackers this time, and they also co-opted a group of where-wolves to help them.
Don't I know it.
She didn't say, but I guess it will be soon.
Right.
Goodbye, and good luck."
Harry turned back to Albus. "Headmaster. Solar suggests that all students be moved to their common rooms. He and 3 of his teammates will be here to handle the attack."
Albus rose from the staff table. "All students! return to your common rooms. Staff, after seeing your charges, please join me in the staff lounge. Hopefully Solar and his team will not require our assistance, but we will stand ready to aid them if needed."
With that the students started filing out of the hall and heading for their common rooms.

Solar was hovering in the entrance hall watching a map he had pulled up when he had arrived. The map showed 2 red dots, 1 yellow dot, 1 green dot, and 1 blue dot. As well as gray dots that represented the werewolves that were nearing Hogwarts.
As he watched a blue dot, a red dot, and a green dot flew through the school heading for him. In just a few minutes Star, Storm, and Flare joined Harry in the entrance hall.
"Should we take this outside" Storm asked. "After all we really don't want the school to be damaged during our fight."
Solar nodded. As did Star and Flare.
"Good idea Storm" Solar said. "Let's go."
With those words all 4 of them flew through the walls emerging in the cold crisp air. flying toward them were a group of 5 fiends.
In the lead was a fire element fiend that already had a fireball in 1 hand. Behind this fiend flew an earth element beside a water element. Behind these flew an air element with another fire element that was beginning to charge a fireball.
Flare moved into position to catch the fireball if it was thrown. However, before anything could happen everyone heard 2 voices say in unison "TRICK OR TREAT!".
Looking up Solar saw a pair of twins standing above the Hogwarts gates. Without warning gray colored beams of light lanced out and struck each of the fiends facing Solar and his team. As the beams hit 1 of the fiends, they would dissolve into gray light that would then be absorbed into 1 of the 2 figures.
The twin on the right side in pleasure. "So much power doesn't you agree Trick?"
The twin on the left nodded. "Yes, indeed Treat. Although it seems we are not quite done feasting."
With that the twins fired black beams at the werewolves. Causing each 1 they hit to dissolve just like the fiends.
Solar and the girls traded warry looks. Solar stepped forward as the last of the Werewolves disappeared. "Welcome to Hogwarts. What can we do for the 2 of you?"
The twins looked over at Solar and smiled a disturbing smile. "You can give us your elemental powers" said Trick raising his hands.
Treat mirrored her twin. "All of you can." "TRICK OR TREAT!"
The gray beams lanced out at the team, but
Storm conjured a mirror in front of each of her teammates. When the beams hit the mirrors, the twins had to franticly dodge their own attacks.
"Hay no fair" Trick pouted. "Yeh we're supposed to be the winners here" Treat said.
Flare laughed. "You think we would just let you take our elemental powers for yourselves? I think someone needs a spanking."
Solar, Star, and Storm gave Flare a look as the twins cringed.
"No one can beat us" said Trick raising his hands again. "We always win," said Treat.
The 2 of them started firing black beams at the mirrors. Every time the beams bounced off the mirrors 1 of the twins just absorbed the beam. After a few minutes of this, the twins raised their hands together, and fired the gray beams again.
Flare had reinforced the mirrors after every attack. This meant that when the gray beams hit the mirrors this time the beams were reflected back at the twins at twice the speed of the first attack. Trick was able to dodge the beams, but Treat was clipped by hers. To the shock and horror of Solar and his teammates Treat slumped to the ground. Her powers flowing back into the earth.
"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE" Trick screamed as he saw his sister lying on the ground.
Flare shrugged, although Solar could see she was just as shaken as the rest of them. "All I did was reflect on your own attacks back at you and your sister. You 2 were the ones who decided to continue attacking after seeing I could do that."
Trick screamed in rage and flew straight at Flare. Solar drew his saber with a snap-hiss, and slashed at Trick as he came near. As the blade touched Trick he paused, then his body fell apart. Solar and the girls watched as Trick's power flowed back into the ground.
"I think that's it" Star said quietly. She turned to Flare, and pulled her into a hug, where Flare broke down crying.
The 2 of them were joined by Solar, and Storm.

An: and that is where we will be stopping today. Did any of you guess what family Harry will be marrying into? Yes the contract does exist, and the first condition was Harry awakening his elemental powers.
Next chapter it is time to meet our fifth elemental, and that will draw us closer to the end.
