Nick's POV.
Summer has arrived, and by that, I mean heat, unbearable heat. Normally it wouldn't matter much to me, I even endured the heat of Sahara Square when Finnick and I used to go to melt down the Jumbo Pop lollipops for their very honest sale, and everything else that you already know, the detail is that we didn't last that long in that ecosystem because of the high temperature, it was tedious for me at least, Finnick was not affected as much by being a desert fox, as well as the arctic with the intense cold, but for an ordinary red fox like me, my fur In this case, it absorbs a lot of heat, which is why we tried to do things quickly in that precise environment. Now comes this season where high temperatures are reported in various parts of the world, including Zootopia, the Cub effect they call it, due to the change in temperature in the oceans, something like that, I don't know, that causes heat waves for several weeks.
I was with my team except for Jackie who was at the ZBI headquarters, he alternated some of his days to be here in the ZPD and other days there, a hybrid job if you will. Carrots, Wolfie and I were almost finishing a recent case in which we have worked for some days by now, but at least this heat that was felt affected a little my performance and my mood in the office, and it was not the only one, we only clung to a simple fan that they lent us in maintenance.
- "Damn, how much longer do we have to wait for air conditioning?" I complained, resting my head on the seat, feeling the breeze that the fan was throwing at us, even as it was oscillating in the corner.
- "Ugh, I don't know, Bogo said they were coming this week to install it and it's already Thursday." Wolfie dried his sweat with a small towel he kept on his desk.
- "Stop complaining, it won't kill you to have some patience, we're not the only ones without air conditioning, they're many in line." Carrots commented calmly leafing through documents from some folders about the case.
- "Patience won't kill us, this heat will." I answered raising my head.
- "I consider it a crime that we don't have air conditioning right now." Wolfie sighed.
- "Just imagine you're adventuring in Sahara Square for a while, and that's it." I don't know what irritated me more, the heat, or the fact that Carrots was so relaxed in this sauna.
- "How can you be so calm in this heat, Carrots? Haven't you wanted to completely shave yourself off?" What I said at this point sounds tempting.
- "Are you cold-blooded or what?" Wolfie asked without letting go of the towel from his paw.
- "Pff, noobs. This heat was the norm for Bunnyburrow, before I went to the police academy, I was forced to work part-time on my family's farm in the sun, and in any weather, this is nothing to me." Carrots closed a folder and proceeded to make some notes in a notebook.
- "And if so, how come your fur is still light gray?" This is referring to the fact that she doesn't appear to be burned.
- "It was many years ago, also, there's something called a sunblock cream, Slick, in case you didn't know." She arched an eyebrow, looking up slightly for a moment.
- "Well, then, you won't have a problem with me turning off the fan." I challenged her to see if she believed she was such hot stuff.
- "Go ahead, I'm fine without him." Damn, her carefree attitude was so insufferable. I got up to pretend I would, took a few steps, but then looked at Wolfie.
- "Don't even think about it." He warned with a piercing look. And heck, I really needed at least that measly fan to survive, it wasn't about her anymore it was about my well-being, so I sat back down in defeat, she did it again.
- "What happened? I thought you very decided, Slick." She was taunting without even trying, or at least that's what she made it seem.
- "At this point, I'd rather swallow my pride than drown in my own sweat, it's not because of you, Fluff." I crossed my arms somewhat frustrated.
- "And because you would have known my not-so-pretty side, Bushy Tail." Wolfie added menacingly. I just made a blah blah blah gesture with my paw towards him. Then a great idea came to my mind.
- "Oh guys… what if we go to the Zootopia water park on Saturday when we have the day off?" I have gone there very few times since I had no one to go with before, but now I not only have them but also the most wonderful golden mammal in the world with me.
- "Uff, I'm in, I need fresh water on my fur that is not just in the bathroom shower." Wolfie happily agreed to go.
- "It would be good for me too." Carrots said.
- "Oh really? I thought you were fine in this heat according to you." I questioned smiling ironically.
- "Just because I tolerate it doesn't mean I don't want to enjoy a pool, I'm still an ordinary mammal." She pointed to herself.
- "Whatever you say, bunny. Well, what do you guys say?" I finally asked.
- "It doesn't sound bad at all, although I've never been there, is it good?" Carrots continued to work while she listened.
- "I can't say much because I visited it many years ago, but from what I remember, it's quite big, the pools are spacious, and it almost looked like a resort." I remember the big slides, the jump boards, the sea simulator for surfing practice, among other exciting activities, it's possible that there will be more new or renewed things.
- "I think it's great, I'm in too, it would be a well-deserved relaxation in the water with my husband." Carrots bragged about his current marital status. It made me happy to know that my little bunny shared her life with Jackie, and so far, these months, everything seems to be going well, I hope it continues like this for many years.
- "Same here, Carrots." I smiled remembering Cartoons, because obviously, I want him to come with me, what better way to show off my beautiful husband than in a great water park.
- "But wait, don't you think it will be very crowded that day?" Wolfie asked doubtfully. It was a good question, since of course we will not be the only ones with the same idea on a day like Saturday.
- "Maybe so, but I think we can make our respective space in the park if we arrive early to set aside a good place and not find so many mammals." I suggested arriving at the park a little before noon, and Carrots and Wolfie liked the idea.
- "It's on." I rubbed my paws together, excited for Saturday's fun on the water. Then my cell phone beeped. – "Oh, it's time to go to the gym, comrades."
- "Ugh, I think I have zero energy today…" Wolfie leaned back in his seat complaining.
- "Oh, come on, at least there's the air conditioning, it's much better there than here, I assure you." I got up from my seat. In recent years I have taken a liking to the gym, I like to get out of work at a time to exercise, with Carrots and Wolfie it is more fun because we like to compete and see who does it better or who resists more to a certain activity, and of course, to be handsome for my husband, he deserves no less.
- "Well, you're right, maybe with the warm-up my energies will come to me." Wolfie stood up and eased his chair into the gap in the desk.
- "It's important to keep your figure, Wolfie, that six-pack and pecs you have don't stay on their own." I highlighted his best attributes.
- "I know, that's the hard part, keeping them." Wolfie stretched his body.
- "Difficult, but not impossible." I gave him the thumb up. I directed my gaze to Carrots who was still sitting looking at stacks of files.
- "I'll catch up with you in a moment, I'll just make a few more notes and I'm done." As always Girl focused carrots.
- "Alright, Fluff, don't be long, today it's buttocks." I bounced my eyebrows at her mischievously.
- "Perverted fox. I'm still gonna beat you." She looked up at me mischievously too.
- "We'll see about that, bunny." I smirked and we laughed a little. I closed the door and Wolfie and I headed for the gym at the other end of the station, excellently equipped, with teachers and trainers for any desired discipline, efficient maintenance, and updated facilities. I have dabbled in learning a little about Jiu Jitsu, it's more advanced than normal police training, and I can better protect my loved one if necessary, I've made great strides I must say, and obviously in training every part of my body, but lately I've focused more on the leg and torso area, for better resistance when running, because there have been more occasions of chasing criminals and I can't let Carrots beat me in catching them, oh no.
Saturday.
- "All set, Cartoons?" We were collecting everything we needed for the day, items such as sunscreen, towels, bathing suits (Cartoons wanted to take the tight one that makes his pretty butt shine very well), the little Cartoons speaker for our music, sunglasses, and we had a cooler with soft drinks, water, beers and a pack of disposable cups inside; We all agreed to bring something to drink and eat. The novelty is that when you book your place, the park gives you a choice of the size of the table, the number of chairs, and an umbrella. There were restaurants, but those were exclusively for guests since the water park belonged to a luxurious hotel chain, but for those of us who were not guests, they gave us a personal grill to cook, so, making the list, we had to bring all the drinks, Wolfie and Spots (we also invited him) will bring the food for the predators, In other words, us, together with the coal and some ingredients that Cartoons asked for, finally Carrots and Jackie will bring the snack and their own food, vegetables and other types of plants probably, haha.
- "I think so, I made sure everything is in the backpack." He carried her on his shoulder and the towels in his other hand, I carried the cooler with soft drinks and bottles of water.
- "Okay, we can go now. Would you mind opening the door for me, precious?" I looked at the door.
- "Of course, handsome." He gave me a short little kiss and kindly opened it for me, but not before taking the apartment keys that were on the kitchen counter.
- "Thank you, Goldie. Can you close it too?" I left the apartment.
- "Yep." He closed the door, and I heard the door latch shut behind me as I walked towards the elevator, he soon after caught up with me.
- "Oh, how exciting, I haven't been to the water park since… uh, kit, I really only went for a school trip, but I remember what a great time we had there, I don't know how much has changed since then over there." We got into the elevator, and he pushed the button to go to the parking lot.
- "Heh well, we agreed on that, I also visited the park as a child, back in the 1800s." I joked about the time.
- "Oooh, did the park even exist at that time? What a historical fact, I had understood that Zootopia was founded a hundred years later, it seems that the books lie, huh." I couldn't help but chuckle. – "And look at you, two hundred years and you look so yummy and very handsome, Mr. Mummy." He tempted me by bringing his head closer to my shoulder.
- "Yeah, only I know where the fountain of youth is, it's a secret." I turned to see him with a mischievous smile.
- "And how much is it going to cost me to reveal the secret to me?" He placed his chin on my shoulder.
- "I feel generous, I think that just seeing you in that sexy swimsuit of yours when we get there… and then without it in a more private place, if you let me take it off, much better." I winked at him.
- "Oh, I see, it's a reasonable price, you have a deal." We smiled and gave each other a sweet kiss. We got to the elevator and Cartoons helped me by opening a passenger door to leave the cooler, backpack, and towels there. I got in to drive and Cartoons from my co-pilot as usual, we put on our sunglasses and headed to the water park that was half an hour from our location. It was 11 AM, we would arrive before noon in order to have time to calmly arrive, register, find our table, change into our bathing suits, and enjoy the pools before eating and the place fills up with more mammals later.
On the way, Cartoons messaged with my friends in a chat group that we made that we were already going to the park, to which they said that they were also on the way, great, punctuality is everything, and ironic that I say so, but I'm working on it.
We were the first to arrive, but in the same way, the others already knew our place and where to find it. In our case, by arriving first, an employee made it easier for us to guide us to the table. Cartoons also told me that he doesn't know how to swim and doesn't want to risk the deepest one, so for that reason we chose the part of the pool that is shallower and medium deep. To be honest, I'm not the great swimmer, but I can do it relatively well, a bit of what Pops taught me and in the academy. Touring the park, it looked spectacular, almost as I remember it, but definitely with new furniture, big slides, slides, tikis, many tables, umbrellas, the restaurant, the big pools, the lounge chairs near them, the blue sky, and the sun, a perfect day to relax in the water, there were still few mammals in the place but most likely more will arrive as the hours go by.
- "Have a great afternoon." The employee left when he finished guiding us to our place. The table was long, one of those picnic types, the wooden chairs, a large umbrella in the middle, and the respective grill in front of the table, it was a good size and they provided us with the utensils for the meal.
- "Thank you so much." We said both. We left things on the table, and I left the cooler on the floor near the grill.
- "Well, just wait for the others, Wolfie and Spots will bring the coal, I think we'll light them at one in the afternoon, when the food is ready, it will be a good time to eat." I proposed the plan.
- "Sounds good to me, when they arrive, we'll go change our clothes." Cartoons sat in one of the chairs.
- "That's right, meanwhile..." I sat in another chair next to him, and we savored our lips for a few seconds. Then Cartoons took some selfies of us, Pawstories, and all that adorable millennial stuff to kill time.
After twenty minutes, my lovely bunny friend gives us the shoutout, next to her came Jackie, and behind them two Wolfie and Spots. Carrots had a small hand suitcase on her shoulder, Jackie was carrying some cloth bags where in one the snack bags were clearly visible, and in the other where I supposed it was their food for roasting. Wolfie loaded another cooler while Spots carried the bag of coal.
- "While we're young, guys." Cartoons and I got up to greet our friends.
- "Excuse us, you know the traffic in this city." We laughed and I bent down a little to hug her affectionately, just as with Jackie, we gave each other a fist and patted our shoulders, Cartoons also greeted them.
- "You got to hurry up and use the shortcuts." I suggested before the two.
- "The shortcuts are also packed." Jackie commented leaving the bags on the table.
- "Don't tell me, I think it's better that we start to discover new routes to get to these places." Wolfie set the cooler next to ours.
- "And we made the best decision to get here early, imagine later, uff." Spots set the bag of charcoal next to the grill and proceeded to sit down.
- "Well, no room here for complaints, we made it there and still have a few hours to enjoy the space at the pools." I waved my hand towards them.
- "Oh yes, I already want to get in, are we going to change now?" Cartoons took the backpack on his shoulder.
- "Yeah, you go first, I'll stay to take care of the place." Jackie offered to stay.
- "I'll stay with you, Jack." Wolfie offered by sitting on a chair. They both took seats, while Carrots, Spots, Cartoons, and I went to put on our bathing suits. We searched for the changing rooms in the park and managed to locate them a short distance away near the wading pool. Everyone entered a small cubicle, Cartoons handed me my bathing suit, and a few minutes later, we went out into the hallway.
- "I'm ready now." I left the dressing room with my clothes in paw.
- "Here I am." Carrots announced her presence wearing her bikini. I admired her for a few seconds, and she looked very stunning, a slender body, worked and flat abdomen, her small hips perfectly widened, shapely legs, and respectfully remarking, breasts of precise size for her small and beautiful body.
- "How is it? I bought it for my honeymoon." She modeled the garment.
- "Wow, Carrots, I will only say one thing, and that is that I hope that Jack will be grateful every day of his life for calling you his wife, and me for calling you my dear best friend." I praised my life partner with a sincere smirk.
- "Aww, thanks Nick, you're so kind. I can say the same about you, you look amazing." She returned the compliment as she closed the dressing room door.
- "Hehe, thank you very much, Carrots. Come here for the photo." I took my cell phone out of my pocket, we approached and smiled at the camera, then some funny faces, we looked at the photos just taken.
- "I love them, send them to me, please." She put on her sunglasses.
- "I'm ready!" Spots came out of the dressing room. He was a very adorable big stuffed animal. I heard the door open right away and what I think is the sexiest, most luscious, most delicious thing in the whole world came out, my husband in his tight swimming trunks.
- "Me too." He said with a sensual voice, modeling a little for me, where he turned around, revealing those delicious marshmallows of his, I had to try to make my little friend below not show my emotion, a difficult task.
- "Holy heavens, catch me because I'm falling." I approached my husband and asked him to walk around, observing every part of his wonderful body, no matter how much I have seen him naked or in suggestive clothes, it was always a delight for me to admire him as if it were the first time.
- "I'll hold you, hihihi." Spots said giggling. – "Oh guys, how good you look, so athletic and beautiful." He looked at us smiling.
- "Oh, thanks Benji, you look good too." Carrots returned the compliment.
- "No better than you." Spots responded by gesturing.
- "Thanks also. And Judy… wow, you look super nice, I think the most precious bunny I've ever met." Cartoons praised Carrots.
- "How sweet, Andy, thank you so much, sweetheart." She smiled warmly.
- "Let's see, everyone, group pic." I asked them to settle for the camera, we smiled, and again, funny faces. We left the locker room and went back to our table, where we saw Wolfie and Jackie talking and laughing.
- "We're done, you can go change, buddies." I announced approaching them.
- "Great, I need to get out of these clothes for a bit." Wolfie stood up and grabbed his swimming trunks.
- "Look at that great beauty coming over there." Jackie said obviously seeing Carrots looking at her from head to toe.
- "Oh, Jackie, how nice you are, you're making me go red." I exaggerated my go while slightly hindering the passage of Carrots in front of him, to which he arched an eyebrow amusingly.
- "I'm not talking about you, Wilde, step aside." He pushed me away to go back to see his wife.
- "Save your antics for later, Slick, don't embarrass us." She moved to Jackie's side, to see that they were ogling each other. To which I dragged Cartoons to my side.
- "I have nothing to be ashamed of." I looked at my husband, we both laughed and kissed pleasantly.
- "Can we go now?" Wolfie was with his arms folded and stamping his feet impatiently.
- "Yes, Wolford." Jackie gave Carrots one last kiss, took his bathing suit and they went together to change.
- "What lovey-dovey couples, hihihi." Spots opined sitting in a chair.
- "You can bet on it." I kept looking at my beloved, lost in his eyes.
- "Hey, well, we must take turns not to be left alone here. How do we do it?" Carrots asked looking around the park.
- "Well, I can still wait, if you want to go first, go." Cartoons said.
- "I'm staying with you, Goldie. It helps that I accompany Jackie to light the coal." I wasn't going to go to the pool without him, I'll wait with him for a while.
- "You learned that very well in Mazootlán, you're a true northerner, Pawpsie." I learned how to do it on our honeymoon, it's like lighting a campfire, the only difference is that the coal needs to be consumed more by the fire so that it gives off enough heat to the grill, which takes more time and has its little tricks, it was fun to learn.
Author's note: In the north of Mexico, it is common for people to have a lot of barbecue parties, which makes them professionals in the field of grilling meat, it is a skill that is in their veins, lol.
- "Fierro pariente." I said a phrase that I heard a lot from Cartoons, which is like a joke phrase in the country, everyone laughed when they heard my pronunciation, I'm still on it, but I think I'm improving, heh.
- "Well, thank you very much, we'll be back in a while for you to enjoy too." Carrots opened her bag and took out her sunscreen, she smeared a lot on her body, it even looked like a ghost.
- "Carrots, where did your gray fur go?" I joked when I saw her.
- "It's on sabbatical, honey." She responded with that famous line from the movie Spidermammal: No Way Home, I couldn't help but laugh, ironically because today was Saturday.
- "Come on, Judy, that water must be delicious." Spots was already full of sunblock too. Spots went next to Carrots together towards the pool and Cartoons and I were left alone.
- "Alone here..." I heard a whisper in my ear; it caused me a small, pleasant shiver.
- "Don't do that here if you don't want to suffer sexy consequences." I ran my finger over his cheek and chin.
- "I can't help it, you don't know what you're doing to me, seeing you almost naked." He smiled seductively.
- "You speak for me Cartoons, I'm fighting my paws from touching every part of you right now, especially your pretty rear." I licked my lips.
- "Don't worry, you know that at home they are all yours, and all yours, mine." He winked at me playing with his touch on my neck.
- "Absolutely, baby." Again, we share our lips for a few seconds. It was then that Wolfie and Jackie came back from changing.
- "Here we are." Wolfie announced. Looking at both mammals, I must admit that they have enviable bodies, Wolfie with his well-defined muscles in his arms, legs, abs, nothing exaggerated, and with Jackie it was the same, but his volume was commensurate with his size.
- "What handsome mammals." I commented with a whistle.
- "Thank you, dear." Wolfie made a flirtatious gesture.
- "And we're leaving now." Jackie said willing to go with Carrots, but what he didn't know is that he wasn't going anywhere yet.
- "Uh, Jackie…" I smirked with a funny tone.
- "What, Wilde?" His grumpy voice was already coming out.
- "I didn't tell you, but you and I are going to take care of lighting the coal..." He seemed to need me to explain further. – "So, you're not going with Carrots right now, you will stay with me and Cartoons, like good friends, right?" I spread my arms out in joy, and he didn't seem to share my happiness at all.
- "Oh, please, don't give me that look, we're family, and we have all day." I tried to take the grump out of him by promising him the quicker we do it the quicker he can leave with Carrots, he ended up agreeing halfheartedly, agh, conejo mamón, heh, as for Wolfie, he happily ran over to Carrots and Spots with a splash.
Cartoons turned on the horn, played some music, and between Jackie and I we opened the bag and placed a considerable amount in the grill compartment, and with some tricks that I learned in Mazootlán, paper, oil, and a little beer, we managed to light the flame quickly with a simple match, it took us less than ten minutes, I think, that Jackie was an exaggeration, but at least when he saw that the flame was already beginning to consume the coal, he was kinder, kind in his own way of course.
- "Uff, all that remains is for everything to be consumed and..." I wiped my forehead from the heat outside and from the fire.
- "Bye-bye." Jackie waved goodbye shortly. Cartoons and I looked at each other and released a small laugh, I watched him approach Carrots and he sat on the edge of the pool.
- "Well, if you ask me, I don't mind being alone here again… with you." He hugged me from behind.
- "Ooh, me neither, it's what I enjoy the most in life." We gave each other a few tender little kisses, caressing her arms, while we listened to the music playing, Watermelon Sugar by Harrey Styles.
We decided to season the salmon fillets that Wolfie and Spots brought to later throw them on the grill. Cartoons insisted on making a sauce to try, he promised not to make it so spicy, I already have a good tolerance for spicy, but for sensitive tongues present, it is better that it had a moderate heat, so he ordered some tomatoes, jalapeños, onion, garlic, and parsley, with a glass he improvised a molcajete to prepare it, but not before roasting the tomatoes and jalapeños, when he finished it, I gave him a taste and sip, very Mexolican style, Cartoons has a lot of culinary talent, heh.
Within a couple of minutes, Wolfie and Spots returned to the table wrapped in their towels, clearly drenched, and refreshed.
- "God, that felt like glory." Wolfie proceeded to sit down.
- "Heck yeah, the water temperature is just perfect." Spots dried behind his ears.
- "It's good to see that you guys enjoyed it, because now it's your turn to grill the food, it's my husband's and my turn to taste the glory." I stood up, ready to freshen up big time.
- "Oh yeah, that's why we paid to be here, right?" He also stood up.
- "That's right, beautiful. So, do us that favor, please?" I kindly asked.
- "Clear! Go now." Spots invited us to run to the pool.
- "Thanks, the steaks are already seasoned, just cook them and don't burn them." I grabbed the bottle of sunscreen and we smeared ourselves all over the exposed part, we looked funny pale. Afterwards, I took my beloved by the paw and pulled him to run to take a dip together.
- "Woooo!" We jumped into the water and went in with a big dive. Feeling the cool and warm water was spectacular, I already needed it since this horrendous heat began in the city.
- "Oh, holy heaven, this is life." Cartoons said as he raised his head out of the water.
- "Yes, yes it is." We started swimming over to where Carrots and Jackie were playing.
- "Bunnies, we have arrived." I greeted them.
- "Hi guys!" Carrots looked happy, and that made me quite happy.
- "How you doing?" I asked enjoying floating in the water.
- "The best, I speak for everyone that this was something we needed badly." Jackie floated on her back.
- "You said it, I thank myself for this idea, thank you, Nicholas, you're a genius, we been knew." I proudly patted my chest.
- "Well yeah, thank you so much, baby." Cartoons hugged me from behind again and gave me a little kiss on the cheek.
- "You're welcome, precious." I smiled and returned the kiss.
- "Yeah, whatever." Carrots made a funny gesture.
- "Don't be rude, Carrots, a simple thank you is enough." I put my paw near my ear.
- "Nah, I'm fine." She lay back on the water next to Jackie. I raised an eyebrow, and an idea came to my mind.
- "It's okay, but I propose a challenge to you." That made her cute ears perk up.
- "A challenge?" She opened her eyes.
- "A race, from that end to that one." I pointed out the locations. – "You, and me, if I win, you thank me and sweeten my ear for the rest of the day, estimating me, if I lose, you say nothing. How's that?" I put on my best challenging look.
-"Hmm… sounds tempting, I don't know…" She put her finger to her chin.
- "If you don't accept, this pretty mouth you see here is not going to shut up in the next few hours, it's up to you." I pointed to my mouth.
- "Love, please accept, I refuse to put up with Wilde's babble all this day." Jackie weighed in on that.
- "Thanks for the encouragement, Jackie." I smirked at him.
- "Ugh, okay, you asked for it." She straightened up on the water.
- "Terrific." I smiled pleased. We swam to the side where we would be shot.
- "Come on, Pawpsie, you can do it, you're the best at everything. Good luck!" My beloved motivated me by my side.
- "Thank you, precious." I gave him a sweet kiss for the support. I must say that this will be quite a challenge since Carrots is quite a natural athlete, but I can hold my own too, so this will be very interesting.
- "I'm already looking forward to your sweet compliments, Fluffy." I wanted to provoke her to give her best.
- "Slick, you better not talk ahead of time, because you won't like the result." I heard her determined and I like that. Jackie gave the five second countdown and as soon as he yelled "Go!" we both went out with a big boost.
Swimming and kicking as best I could, I didn't see Carrots' side clearly but we were very close, I could see that her legs seemed to go like a boat motor, and I saw her giving herself a considerable lead, reaching the other end, we pushed off the wall of the pool and returned to the other side, I strained my muscles as best as possible, my arms and legs, already being a few meters away, I gave a boost in my speed which made me recover ground but from the corner of my eye reaching the finish line, I watched as Carrots managed to come in first by inches when I heard Jackie announce the winner. Damn it!
I was ready to catch my breath and accept defeat as Carrots celebrated his victory. They would think that I was upset, but the truth is that no, all this made me happy.
