Despite the distance of a few buildings in between Team 7 and the large imposing man on the top of the rabid beast currently raging through Konoha, Sasuke could still notice that the man had already turned his attention towards them and was currently moving towards their location.
"Father?"
Sakura's words completely befuddled Sasuke, was she speaking about his father, Naruto's or the Akimichi Clan head? Why would she refer to them as father?
Suddenly the man on top of the beast appeared almost directly in front of team 7 on an opposite structure as the one the team was currently standing on.
"Oh how it pains me to see that they have converted you to their ranks daughter."
Sasuke quickly traced where the mans gaze was falling when he referred to his so called "daughter" and was even more surprised when he realised that he was speaking to none other than his pink haired team mate
"Father...what...How.." Sakura stammered out barely coherent words, tears already falling from her eyes.
"We have much time to make up for Sakura. I need to explain lots to you, once I burn this pathetic village to the ground."
Sasuke finally realised what the whole situation had been building up to. Come to think of it, the man's hair was also pink though a darker shade than Sakura's. Somehow, her father, a civilian, had come back from the dead and was wreaking havoc on Konoha? That was simply not how he had foreseen tonight going down.
Naruto was the first to act, he turned on his Kyuubi cloak and lunged towards the man, Sasuke briefly glanced at his father's direction seeing that the Hokage, his father and quite a few other ninjas were fighting a large half snake, half lizard type monster. He knew this man was dangerous if he could command a beast like that, he needed to provide some assistance to Naruto so he lunged in too.
But they both went right through the man as he somehow retreated into his own shadow and missed their attacks completely.
"Surprised, Shinobi dogs? Your attacks cannot harm me. My powers do not come from chakra, but from my own inventions, my own intellect, if you will."
Sasuke knew no ninjutsu would affect him as he could easily phase through their attacks, they needed Taijutsu, but it would seem the taijutsu specialist was bolted to her spot, not moving an inch due to the shock.
"And you, Daughter? Will you not attack me?"
"Why? Why are you doing this father? Why attack the village?" Sakura finally spoke, still standing, not having the courage to face her father yet.
"Have you been so blind to your own suffering, daughter, that you must ask me why I was forced to do this?"
"What are you saying, where have you been all this while?" Sakura cried out.
"I have been plotting my revenge against this horrible abomination that you call a village. I have been biding my time to unleash my vengeance."
"Why do you hate the village so much old man?" Naruto finally spoke, trying to stall him for back up to arrive
"Because of YOU, boy. Because of what you all represent. This village has always been divided, the Shinobi and the Civilians, the "gifted" and the "weaklings", you people have always been favoured in your barbarian society, while the civilian lives are treated like cattle. I have lost EVERYTHING during the nine tailed beasts attack. I lost my wife, my house... And now it seems, my daughter too."
"Every one of us has faced loss as a shinobi, even on the day of the attack of the nine tails. Your hatred is misplaced." Sasuke said in a calm collected voice.
The man turned his head to face Sakura who was still on the other side of the structure separated from her teammates by her father.
"Only us civilians know what true loss is like, foolish boy. Only we know what it is like being kicked from our houses to fund your war machines, only we know what it is like to not belong to wealthy clans and toil on the streets. On the day of the attack, when I reached a safe shelter with your mother, we were turned away from the gates because that shelter was for Uchiha clan members only... They told me they would rather reserve a space for a more "useful" clan member in the shelter than for lowly civilians like us. Your mother died because of THEM, Sakura, not the nine tailed beast." The man pointed at Sasuke and Naruto.
"Wh-what... No... that's not true..." Sakura was facing bombshell after bombshell. To find out her father was still alive, then realise that her mother had a chance to survive and the village took it from her.
"It is true, my daughter. I'm so sorry but its true. I tried to save her... Run some where else, but we were caught under the debris and your mother succumbed to her injuries. I vowed under those piles of rubble that i would exact vengeance on this class ridden village. That I would make them pay for what they did to me, but to enact my retribution I had to leave you... I'm sorry Sakura." The man slowly walked towards Sakura, who had already started to cry deeply and fall to her knees
"But it doesn't matter any more. I am here now, and with you by my side we will avenge your mother together."
Sakura's father placed a hand on her shoulder but she weakly swatted it away and jumped backwards
"No. This is the wrong way. Not everyone deserves to be punished like this, I know the shinobi, I know the Uchiha they're good people." Sakura stammered out weakly.
This enraged Kizashi, as he raised his voice towards his daughter
"I come to you with the means to finally avenge your mother and you side with their murderers? You side with HIM?!" Kizashi angrily pointed at Sasuke. Sasuke supposed he probably saw the large fan emblem on his clothes beforehand anyways so he knew he was going to be getting the brunt of his anger.
Kizashi charged up an attack on a metal device in his palm, and aimed at Sakura
"So be it. If you won't join me, then you are against me. It pains me to do this daughter but you are one of THEM now."
Sasuke quickly dashed around Kizashi and scooped Sakura in his arms and jumped before the device shot out a large bolt of lightning directly at where Sakura would be had it not been for Sasuke's intervention.
Sakura still looked stunned but with most of the rookie 9 in sight now, Sasuke knew they were heading into one hell of a fight.
NOTE : WOW I DIDN'T UPDATE IN A LONG TIME I'M SO SORRY ITS BEEN A COUPLE OF YEARS, IM TRYING TO GET THROUGH MY MEDICINE AND SURGERY COURSE. Im pretty sure nobody is gonna still be interested in this anyways, but i think im gonna complete this just for my satisfaction. If you are still reading this then first of all, THANK YOU SO MUCH, I REALLY HOPE YOU ENJOY IT, I AM GIVING YOU DIGITAL HUGS RN and secondly, I am going to try my full best to finish it now that i'm back to write. Also wow again, i read the previous 17 chapters and i'm cringing so hard right now. This was one of my first ever projects and i know i'll be making so many mistakes but hopefully the writing is gonna be better now, and once again, thank you if you're reading this. I truly mean it.
Btw, theres gonna be like one chapter of fighting and im gonna cram in as much sasusaku as i can after that cause i love them and hey its Sasusaku month so lets goo. Also the characters are like at late shippuden age (18) just for further continuity.
