Everyone devirtualized and reunited on the computer room with Sissi.
- What are you doing here? -asked Aelita to her sister while approaching her- You shouldn't know about any of this.
- I wasn't going to leave Ulrich alone! Besides I've been helping Jeremy.
- That's true. It would have been a lot harder working just from the inside.
- I sometimes forget that I've taught you a lot on this timeline. Have they told you anything about it or about Lyoko?
- Something. Jeremy's told me that my uncle did this and that it can come to the past and that you went too far to stop the earth's destruction.
- That's basically it -said Ulrich blatantly-. I found it a lot harder to believe but yeah.
- Does that mean that you'll erase my memories?
Everyone looked silently at Aelita, waiting for a decision.
- No. Every return to the past makes XANA stronger and the world weaker and since there's been no attack to the real world, I won't make it. -said Aelita while playing with Sissi's hair-. I trust that you won't say anything.
- Aelita -asked Odd-, so how do we stop XANA now?
- Turning the computer off is no longer an option. We need to enter sector 5 and launch an antivirus that Jeremy designed on my timeline.
- So I just need to create it again?
- No. Luckily it was one of the programs I installed on the computer 10 years ago, alongside the vehicles or the Skydbladnir, just in case I would need them. And it seems the moment has come.
- Okay, seems like the worst part has already been done -said Odd relaxed.
- Have you seen how XANA welcomes us everytime? -asked him Yumi-. If that's what it has on the sectors, I don't want to know what awaits us on the core of Lyoko.
- Probably hell -said Jeremy horrified just by imaging it.
Next morning, Aelita was slowly taking a coffee, removing it like she hoped some kind of advice would come out of the liquid.
- Hey Aelita, I see you're a little off. Is it because of your thesis? -commented Jim.
- No, no, it's just… I haven't slept well. I already published my thesis; I'll be defending it in a month or so.
- That's great news. Here, let me show you something that will lighten up your face.
Jim put on the table a piece of paper. It was a flyer for a music festival on Kadic next week.
- Oh my god. Are you doing it again?! -said an excited Aelita as she stood up from her chair grabbing the flyer.
- Yeah, your uncle gave me permission. It's been some years since its last edition.
- You sure tell me, I was here! -laughed Aelita-. You know what I can do? I'll speak with the Subdigitals.
- You know them?!
- Yeah, we met when I was working as a DJ on a club. They were special guests and they really liked my music. I wrote some of their themes and they helped me with my first album of Electro music.
- Wow, you sure have an interesting past Mrs. Delmas.
- Yeah, I even had a little something with the drummer. But I'd rather not talk about it.
- You mean my nephew?
- Your what? -said Aelita panicking inside.
- Yeah, Chris Morales. I was going to ask him too to come.
- I forgot he was your nephew. I suppose that's why he came to Kadic too, huh?
- Yeah, exactly. Well, the past is the past. Let's focus on this year's festival. I actually play the trombone, you know? We could act together.
- That seems like a great idea Jim. Let's discuss the name of the band and the song later, now we've got classes to teach. See you later -said the pink haired while grabbing some pieces of paper and a few of the flyers.
Aelita, walking through the corridor to her class, grabbed her phone and searched for a contact. She called it and inmediately someone picked it up.
- Aelita? Is this you? Hey! How have you been?
- Hey Chris, I'm great. I'm a teacher at Kadic now, you know?
- Yeah, my uncle has told me something about it. Man, I miss the old times.
- Well, I just spent a few years in here, but sure they were great. Um, listen, Jim and I wanted to comment you something: it's about the music festival.
- You're doing it again?! Oh, count on the Subdigitals. We're definitely coming. Will you act too?
- As a matter of fact, yes. I have some new mix tapes I wanted to try.
- Cool! Okay, we'll be there. Let's keep in contact for all the details, okay?
- Yes, cool! See you soon.
Aelita hanged up the phone and entered the class and found it full of teenagers excited about the music festival. Odd was trying to convince Ulrich and Jeremy, but they didn't seem too passionate for the idea.
- Ulrich dear, let's do it. I could be the singer.
- Yes! Ulrich dear, play the guitar with me, my love! -said Odd imitating Sissi.
Sissi laughed and kicked Odd in the arm jokingly.
- I don't know, I'll think about it.
- Okay everyone, please sit down. I know you are all excited about the music festival. It's something it hasn't been done in a lot of years, so we want it to be special, but we need you to stay focus in your classes in order to do that.
- Will you be playing Mrs Delmas? -asked a student
- Of course! As you may or may not know, I was a support DJ for the Subdigitals.
- WHAT?! -exclaimed Odd standing up from his chair.
- And because we're friends and the drummer is casually Jim's nephew too… -said Aelita keeping the suspense-. They are coming to the festival!
All the class jumped in emotion but soon Aelita told them to stay quiet, as the director would be coming and cancel the event if they didn't behave properly. After that, she proceeded to teach her class normally, although with the students a bit distracted.
After class, the four warriors that were there approached her.
- Aelita, all about this festival seems ideal, but when are we going to sector 5? -asked Jeremy.
- Tonight. We must act as soon as possible. XANA's free for all the Internet. It could do whatever it wanted.
- Aelita! Please play with us! -begged Odd- We could call ourselves "The Lyoko Warriors".
- I don't know. A teacher with students in the same band.
- Come on sis', it'll be fun. I can be the singer!
- Okaay, I'll join -said knowing from the beginning she was going to play with them-. But Jim must join too, he plays the trombone. I assume that Odd will be playing the guitar and Ulrich the keyboard, right?
- How do you know that I- -asked timidly Ulrich.
- Ulrich, really? -said ironically Aelita raising an eyebrow at him- You already formed a band in my timeline. Yumi was the singer but I suppose my sister here won't have any problem in sharing the stage, am I right?
- Of course! I'd love to, the more the merrier.
- If I could, I'd like to play the violin -said a shy Jeremy.
- You play the violin? -asked Aelita confused- How come you never told me?
- Um, I- I… I don't know. I actually stopped taking classes last year, so maybe for the moment you were virtualized I didn't play it anymore.
- After so many years you keep impressing me Belpois. Well, and do you have a battery? Because I know a pretty decent one here on Kadic.
- You talk about William? He's incredible at it, so we should ask him. -jumped Odd in emotion.
- Oh really? I was talking 'bout Nicholas, but I prefer William if I may say so.
- You're a teacher, princess, you shouldn't have favourites. Except me.
- Yeah, keep telling me princess in class and you'll see how much you're my favourite student.
Meanwhile, XANA was navigating the Internet, searching for a specific location. It arrived at Thyron's lab and, without him knowing, sent him a document. But not just any document, a paper from Aelita explaining a hypothetical supercomputer and the use of radioactive materials to power this kind of engine.
Thyron looked at the paper sent from a stranger to his computer and found it quite interesting. It's what he had been working on for so many years and this girl seemed to know a lot about it too.
- Hey honey!
- Yes, dear? -asked Anthea from behind.
- Take a look at this. This French girl, A. Delmas, did her Thesis on quantum computers and she appears to know a lot about it. I bet she'd be a great partner, don't you think?
- Yeah, absolutely! And she's so young, just 23. Working with young geniuses always gives a good image to the scientific community. Where does she live? We should go visit her and talk to her.
- Well, she lives in some Paris suburb and is now a current Physics teacher at… one mome- here, Kadic Junior High School. There are no photos of her, but I'm sure everyone will know about her.
- So it's decided. We're going to Paris. Oh, I'm so happy for you, dear -said Anthea while kissing her husband's cheek.
- Don't thank me, thank the anonymous messenger.
