Rin could only feel flabbergasted. His theory had been proven right. Thus, he had brought an end to the deal made centuries ago. And he had thought he'd be bound to Kagome as her life partner.
Dragging his hands down his face as the sound of Kagome's laughter filled the School Nurse's Office.
He was glad they were the only two in the room. It wasn't very pleasant with just Kagome(and her laughter). Rin did not need to feel like his face would explode from the other's amusement from his misunderstanding. It was not his fault for not knowing. Not really.
Rin knew he could have asked for more details at any point and had not.
"Oh, sorry, Rin,' Kagome said after finally getting herself under some semblance of control.
With his fingers covering his mouth, Rin glared openly.
"I mean, the bet was for the scarcity and purity of my power," Kagome explained. "However, your esteemed trash father has, on multiple occasions bluntly, like hitting something with a baseball bat, hinted at desiring my companionship."
A wave of nausea rolled through him as Rin dropped his hands to his lap.
"Besides, you don't like me like that," Kagome continued without care. "I have left a bad impression on you."
Rin couldn't help but flinch. There was no way to deny her words without lying. And that'd be futile because she could see the lie in his aura.
"Besides, I like your brother."
Rin stared at Kagome for her straightforward confession.
When she leaned over, Rin felt heat rush to his face. The soft kiss on his cheek had him flustered once more.
"Thank you, now get some more rest."
Rin knew his mouth was opening and closing as he watched Kagome leave. Eventually, a groan escaped as he slapped his face again to cover it as he let his body fall to the bed. With her, it was always his face!
