Ahsoka's first few days as a padawan had been… rough. When she was told by Master Plo Koon and the Jedi council she was excited to become a padawan. She was assigned to jedi knight Anakin skywalker, and was to meet him and master kenobi on christophsis and inform them of their new mission. To find and rescue the kidnapped son of Jabba the hutt.
When she met her new master he was apprehensive of her but she would let that discourager from being a good padawan. Their first mission together was to destroy a shield generator, and after a few missteps, her activating some defenses and almost crushing anakin. He accepted her as his padawan. There next mission was to find jabba's son on teth.
The battle on teth was difficult, as the two jedi and a company of clones launched an assault on a temple by climbing a 90 degree cliff and turning it into a race. Anakin won, cheated in her opinion, but she saved him after he was surrounded with the clones' help. They'd finally found Jabba's son Rotta before they were attacked by the sith asajj ventress and after escaping in an old junker made their way to Tatooine with Anakin making a crash landing. Anakin led the way as she carried rotta and the astromech R2-D2 followed. Anakin said they had to split up when he sensed something dark and sent her ahead with Artoo as he confronted what he sensed.
This is where she finds herself now, making her way through a desert at night. She could see her destination in the distance.
"Alright just a little further and you'll be back home stinky." she said to the huttlet strapped to her back.
"It won't be too… long… now" ahsoka sensed the presence of something watching as she slowed to a stop. Artoo beeped in question when she stopped. Looking around she searched for what watched her, before noticing a shadow on a dune taller than what she was on. Looking closely she recognised it as a bantha and on top an alien that was staring at her. It was a tusken raider. The two continued to stare at each other as ahsoka moved her hand to her lightsaber but when they didn't make any movement she elected to keep walking. As they started moving away the bantha moved at a slow pace. They were walking parallel to each other so it became very awkward as they stared at each other. It lasted for a minute before she broke.
"Hey it's rude to stare you know?" she yelled. The tusken seemed to flinch back when she yelled before it broke its gaze turning to the side and rubbing the back of its head as if it was bashful. It then proceeded to steer its bantha towards her as it came closer. This put ahsoka more on edge but also confused by its actions. She had read that tuskens were not friendly to others. When it got within 20 feet she had her lightsaber in her hand ready to use if needed. When it spoke she was completely thrown off.
"Sorry, don't usually see any kids wandering the desert at night"
"Whoa, you speak basic, I thought your kind was incapable of that?" this was the first thought in her mind that she blurted out. The tusken seemed to laugh at her bluntness.
"Hah ha, most don't, i'm different" the male tusken, ahsoka guesses male judging from his voice, shifts his robes before pulling out a half sphere device.
"This is my universal translator, it takes any species' language and translates in real time to another species' most used language. I normally don't use it, preferring to just learn and speak languages naturally but tusken vocal chords dont allow for basic."
Ahsoka was surprised, she didn't know there was technology that could translate in real time. If you wanted to speak to someone in a different language a protocol droid was needed. She was getting distracted and needed to focus
"Hey, stop distracting me… and stop following me"
"He he, more like we're heading in the same direction"
And it was true they were now just outside of jabba's palace but before they could take another step three IG magna droids burst from the ground igniting electro staffs causing ahsoka to ignite her saber. The three immediately jump to attack her while the tusken also jumps from the bantha to the ground.
Out in the desert another duel was taking place between Anakin Skywalker and count dooku. They had been duling for a bit before dooku slashed anakins pack believing he killed rotta. Anakin then revealed that it was rocks and that the hutlett was with his padawan. Dooku revealed he had plans in place before pulling out a comlink showing Ahsoka fighting on the back foot against the magna guards.
"It seems your padawan won't succeed skywalker after my droids kill jabba's son they will deliver your padawan to him for punishment of the huttlets murder"
Anakin and Dooku watch the video as Ahsoka is thrown back. Anakin can feel his worry grow as dooku mentions what jabba may do but just before the video cuts out the two hear a howl come from out of range.
"HUURRR HUR HUR HHHUUUURRR"
Anakin's eyes immediately widen in fear and dookus in surprise. Dooku takes note of Skywalker's change in demeanor as he can feel the fear and anger bubbling. Anakin immediately takes off before dooku can utter another word, stealing the hoverbike dooku used and racing in the direction of jabba's palace.
Back with Ahsoka, she watches as the tusken blocks an attack from the droid with their staff.
The droids pause and look at the one who intervened in their mission as the tusken seems to glare at them.
"You know, it's really not a good thing to pick on younglings, especially when I'm around" leaping into action the tusken holds off all three with impressive bo skills as ahsoka steps back to catch her breath. She watches as they block and parry the attacks before one the guards manage to disarm the tusken. She was about to jump in and help again when the tusken held up a hand.
"Let me take care of this kid, it's been a while since i've really let loose" and then in a flash of green light that blinds ahsoka she sees a new figure standing in place of the tusken. This one was much taller but still humanoid; it seemed to have tons of bandages wrapped around its body. He wears a green and black headdress with gold rimming around his face, along with a green and black garment with gold trimming, braces on his wrists, and two greaves on his legs giving it some kind of regal look. On his belt was an hourglass symbol.
"SNARE-OH" the being yelled. The droids were just as confused as to what happened to the tusken they were fighting and what this new creature was. Ahsoka watched the figure thrust out its hands as the bandages seemed to extend and wrap around the droids who tried to get free but couldn't.
"Stand back kid, i wanna see how far i can chuck em" the being said before it started spinning, dragging the droids through the sand before finally launching them into the air well of 30 meters.
"FOUR"
Ahsoka watched the droids crash into the ground before turning to the being admiring its handy work.
"What are you" she asked raising her saber cautiously
"The names snare-oh kid, this form at least"
"What happened to the tusken?"
"I am the tusken, i just decided to take a different for to deal with those guys"
"You say you're the tusken, then how did you become.. Whatever this is'' she gestured to their body
"First off this," he says doing the same gesture ahsoka did "is a thep kufaun, an alien species you probably never heard of, and second i can transform into any alien species alive"
In a flash of green light the tusken was back and ahsoka just stared and blinked.
"What not enough for yah, how bout this" in another flash of light before ahsoka stood an adult male togruta. He was buff and stood at 7 feet from the tip of his montrals which were green and white like his skin. He had no shirt which showed off his muscles but he did wear pants and a waist cloak around him. His facial markings were white like the others on his upper body but they made an hourglass image on the center of his face. He wore a glove on his left hand and on the back the same hourglass symbol the previous form had.
Ahsoka couldn't help but blush and stutter as she tried to form coherent basic.
"I dont think ive actually introduced myself my name is Ben, Ben Tennyson, who are you"
Ahsoka finally found her voice as she responded " Im ahsoka tano, a jedi"
"A jedi, haven't met one of you yet. Well we should go, time to get rotta there home"
Ahsoka had almost forgotten about her mission in the chaos. The two quickly began to climb out of the ditch they ended up in during the fight and while they were climbing ahsoka saw anakin speed by and called out to him. Anakin didn't seem to notice as he sped by and up to Jabba's palace.
When Anakin arrives at Jabbas he demands to see him immediately. When he was brought to Jabba without the huttlet, Jabba declared that Anakin was to kill him just as dooku said. Anakin didn't help his situation as when he saw ahsoka wasnt here he held his saber to jabba's throat.
"You came here to kill Jabba," Jabba's protocol droid declared.
"Mighty Jabba, I came here to negotiate" ankin replied with a tense voice
"You came here to die"
Before anything else could happen a resounding "STOP" echoed around the hall. Everyone turned to see a tusken in black and green robes walking into the hall followed by ahsoka holding rotta. All the bounty hunters seemed to step out of the way of the tuskens path.
"Jabba, i was just on my way here to talk to you when, when i saw this adorable little huttlet playing in the sand with their wonderful babysitter, honestly she might deserve a raise" Ben said as he let ahsoka approach jabba and hand over rotta who was excited to see his dad, mom? Hutt biology is weird, but who is Ben to blame?
Anakin had stepped back and extinguished his lightsaber when he saw ahsoka but he couldn't take his eyes off the tusken. He was completely thrown off guard when he started speaking in basic. After giving rotta to jabba ahsoka moved next to anakin who placed himself between her and the tusken. Jabba then made a declaration in huttese which his droid translated.
"You are to be executed immediately"
"WHAT" anakin and ahsoka shout
All the bounty hunters in the room raise their blasters at the two jedi
"Does this always happen to you" ahsoka ask anakin
"Everywhere i go" he responds as the two ignite their lightsabers
Before anyone can start shooting Ben's voice cuts through the hall again.
"JABBA!" every hunter in the room flinches as does jabba as he turns to the tusken
"Sando rustler, choy? Do u need?" jabba says before the droid translates
"The mighty jabba ask what you need, sand rustler"
"What I need, Jabba ,is for you to hold off on this impromptu execution, I'm aware that your son has been missing for some time and when I heard I began to make my way here to tell you that I would find your son for you. And find them i did in the safe hands of this young togruta who was protecting your son from some droids trying to kill him"
"DROIDS" jabba yelled before his communication device started to flare.
When they answered jabba's uncle ziro the hutt appeared along with senator padme amidala and confessed that he was coerced by count dooku to kidnap and kill rotta and blame the jedi. Padme and Jabba came to an agreement to allow the republic to use hutt space hyperlanes in the clone wars.
"Now that that's all settled i'll be on my way, take care jabba, I'll be keeping an eye on tatooine" ben said as he walked out of the palace. Ahsoka started to follow him as did Anakin who was still weary of this strange tusken. When the trio got outside they saw that republic gunships were landing for them and off stepped obi wan and yoda.
"Anakin good to see your still in one piece" obi wan said
"You know me, master" anakin said, still tense as he continually side eyed the tusken which obi wan noticed.
"And who would this happen to be"
"Oh master kenobi, this is ben, he helped me fight off dooku's magna droids, hey ben come over here i want to introduce you skyguy and obi-wan" ahsoka said
Ben was walking over to his bantha when he turned back at ahsoka's call. He made his way over and watched anakin place his hand on his laser sword and glare at him while the other two looked at him in curiosity.
"Ben, was it? You have our gratitude for helping ahsoka in her mission" obi wan said
"It was no problem"
"Facing off against magna guards can be difficult for any knight, a newly minted padawan morso. Helping Ahsoka defeat them should not be downplayed."
"Actually master Kenobi, Ben was the one who defeated them. Im sure i could have as well but he did it in one move"
The three jedi were shocked by this. Anakin in particular was perturbed.
"You beat them? How?"
"Oh master, you should have seen it. Ben held off all three by himself so I could catch my breath. It was like watching a master at the temple fight. And then the coolest thing happened, Ben transformed it to this being I've never seen before."
As Ahsoka explained what happened Anakin and Obi wan listened and Yoda continued to stare at ben.
"Transformed?" anakin said
"Are you a changeling?" obi wan asked ben
"Eh sorta, i am a tusken but only at the moment"
"What do you mean?" anakin said glaring at him
"It's probably easier to show you" ben said before tapping the symbol on his chest.
In a flash of green light where the tusken once stood was now a green skinned togruta. The Jedi's eyes widened in surprise while Ahsoka smiled. Yoda reached out into the force around the person in front of him to find out what this was. Yoda was familiar with species that could shapeshift like the clawdites, but a jedi could still tell it was a clawdite through the force. With ben he had truly been a tusken and now he truly was a togruta.
"How is this possible?" obi wan questioned
"All me to formally introduce myself, im ben tennyson wielder of the omnitrix" be says as he presents the hourglass symbol to the jedi.
"Omnitrix?" Anakin says, thoroughly confused about what just happened. Ben just laughs before explaining. " The omnitrix is the most advanced piece of technology in the galaxy and it allows me to transform into any sentient alien species in the universe, down to the cellular level."
All the Jedi were surprised by this, for there to be a piece of tech so advanced it could transform someone into other species, it was simply impossible. Yoda was first to speak.
"Purpose of such a device, what is?" Ben smiled at the question. After so many years of wearing it he'd come to truly appreciate the omnitrix and his purpose.
" The omnitrix was created to bring all beings in the universe closer together, to allow us to walk in each other's shoes. I use it to help people. Currently i'm here on tatooine living with the tuskens"
Anakin's eyes widened before glaring once again, there were alot of thoughts entering his mide before he quickly cast them out. Ahsoka spoke up this time to ask what Anakin was thinking.
"You're living with the tuskens, why?"
"It's because they are the native species of tatooine. Their people are complex like all people but everyone else on the planet views them as animals." ben said with anger
"The tusken have a unique culture but are viewed as lesser beings because of it. Because this planet has so little water, its sacred to them which is why some tribes would attack moisture farmers."
"So you think those raiders are so great that you agree with them attacking innocent people." Anakin accused. It was Ben's turn to glare while Obi wan shot anakin a look.
"Of course not. During my time here I was able to establish a peace between the tuskens and their enemies."
"Explain could you, of peace you have?"
"I was able to convince all the tribes of the great dune sea and jundland wastes to unify as one people and to stop attacking outsiders without provocation. Should any outsider enter their territory without deferring to them, the tusken are free to detain them and barter with them until an accord is set and the outsider will go free."
"And what's to stop them from just killing the person like savages" ankin said with edge
"The tribe leaders have all give me their word, the time where they would torture and kill outsiders is done, especially after some monster wiped out an entire tribe. No one was spared, not even the women or children." Ben said with a cold edge.
Obi wan and ahsoka were shocked at such cruelty while yoda looked down saddened. Anakin had flinched back when his horrible secret was told. It was clear that Ben did not know who did it but Anakin could feel his anger bubbling.
'How dare he say that i'm the monster, it's the tuskens who are the monsters'
Ben continued on "No species is inherently good or bad, I should know. I'm one of everyone and it's my job to help the people of the galaxy which is why i'll be joining the clone wars" ben made a face at that
"Is that really what it's being called? Like seriously naming a war after one side, geeze talk about ego"
That made Ahsoka laugh which lightened the mood. Obi wan was intrigued by Ben. The way he spoke reminded him of the jedi. Anakin though wasn't sure what to think, one hand Ben defeated the tuskens but on the other he managed to get those animals to stop attacking innocent people. For Yoda he felt a ripple in the force at Ben's words, the war, no, the galaxy was about to change.
"So are you gonna join the republic, ben?" ahsoka asked
"No"
"No?"
"I will end the war like I have before, by understanding both sides and finding a solution. My time on tatooine is done. It's been nice talking to you but im needed out there"
With that Ben stepped back and in another flash of green light, standing before them was a new creature. It was a manta ray-like alien with a red and yellow body. It had wing flaps stretch down from its arms to its tail. four antennas protruded from its face. He wears black shorts and shoulder pads.
"Jetray" ben shouted
"Remarkable what sort of creature is this, i've neve seen it before" obi wan said
"This form is called an aerophibian and their species can travel through space past light speed. See ya"
Jetray took off into the sky at incredible speed to where the Jedi couldnt even see him anymore.
"Woah" ahsoka said
"Yhea" anakin responded
Obi wan turned to yoda who continued to stare into space.
"Master yoda, I believe we should head back to Coruscant. We need to inform the council and senate about the new deal with jabba. Though i feel perhaps we should keep the information about mr tennyson to the jedi for now"
"Agree with you I do"
As the four jedi boarded their ship to return home, jetray was on his way to a planet called Ryloth when a stray thought popped into ben's head.
'Shoot, i forgot the rust bucket'
Making a u-turn to retrieve his ship, it wasn't long before Ben was back on track. It wouldn't be long before Ben's name would be known to the galaxy and his legend born anew.

here we have the start of the clone wars show which i will be rewatching to make outlinging the story easier on me. we have ben first interaction with the jedi and while some like him others might not but ben is finally joining the war and is about to make a big splash on ryloth.
