"Are you sure this is the right planet Bardock? This look more like a wasteland to me" Shugesh commented as the group left their space pod behind and observed their surroundings
"Yes it is, although our targets are in the capital which is a little more ahead of us, we have to continue in the air as to not be detected, follow me" Bardock informed and everyone power up and flew towards whatever direction Bardock was leading them to until they saw some big buildings in the distance
"Oh, that's the city alright, although I think I see some outposts, we should stop here for the moment and think of a plan of attack" Toma commented as he saw the structures surrounding the city
The whole gang landed and Toma explained his plan
"Ok so, first observation it seems that they are regrouped into this one big city which seems to be defended by these 4 outposts surrounding it, I think we should first dispose of these outposts before going for the city, it will prevent us from being cornered on 4 sides and reduce our targets, we have enough time before the full moon of tonight and we'll even use our time effectively, what do you think Bardock?"
"Tch, I would have prefer our good old 'going all in' but your right, here's the plan, we will have to separate ourselves into 4 groups and attack their little outposts, which will hopefully draw some of them out of the city and be dealt with swiftly before the big showdown, it will make less enemy to worry about as Toma explained prior and then it depends on what time we have left, we will either rest or spy on some eventual weaknesses points in their city before attacking, any question?"
"Can't you make artificial moonlight now? Why wait?" Toteppo argued
"Because it costs me energy which I can use for battle, there will be plenty of powerful opponents even after our first attack so I prefer to be at my maximum capacity for the whole showdown, any other question?" No one had anything else to say "Alright, Toteppo and Shugesh you'll be together and the rest of us will take one each, good luck and don't hesitate to also gather information on eventual weapon they could have, we can't forget that if they are anything like the Tsufuls, they could surprise us with powerful weapons or some shit, so be careful"
"Don't worry, you know us right? We'll do one bite of them!" Selypa said smirking as she fist bump him into his shoulder
"Oh I'm certain, I just say to be cautious is all, let's go!"
Bardock and the gang then dispersed themselves and went to their assigned outposts, circling between the rock formations at lightning speed before he himself arrived at the east one, seemingly guarded by 8 Kanassians
Bardock crouched as he analyzed the situation "Ok so, there's 8 here and 12 on the inside if I'm not wrong, it should be easy to dispatch them, they're not that strong, I'm just gonna destroy their tower and it will hopefully crush everyone inside and distract those outside which will give me the advantage of surprise, here we go" he then charged a ki blast which he threw at the tower with all his might
β¦Which just evaporated out of existence the moment it touch the tower
"β¦What?" Exclaimed Bardock, completely confused, that wasn't supposed to happenβ¦
"What was that?! "It came from over there!" "Stay alert everyone! We have an intruder!"
"Shit!" Bardock cursed himself and rapidly changed location and moved behind another set of rocks, assessing what the heck he was dealing with now
"Ok, Ki nullification, that's a thing now, was their whole city in the same state? Is that how they kept the Frieza forces away for so long? That would explain why⦠But then how am I gonna do this?" Bardock asked himself as he thought for a moment, until a light bulb appeared on top of his head "Alright, I'm gonna have to sneak in and destroy their system, I'll have to be careful tho because as soon as I enter, I'll be defensively as weak as a baby so if for whatever reason I'm shot⦠I'm dead⦠sounds easy"
He picked a rock and threw it as hard and as far away as he could in the opposite of his position, alerting his pursuers
"There! Stop whoever you are!" Bardock stood still for a few seconds until he was sure the Kanassan warriors left and got out of his hiding spot, he rapidly sneaked into the tower and swiftly dodged everyone on the staircase as he jumped on the walls, being unable to fly for now
Although when he reached the top, he was greeted with another door and he could sense two people behind it
Having to other choice, he slammed the door open his foot as hard as he could, which slammed right into one of them, rendering him unconscious
"Wha- Who are you! Don't come any closer or I'll shoot!" The last Kanassan exclaimed, clearly freaked out as he held his gun pointed towards Bardock, completely shaking and sweating bullets (not literally)
Thinking fast, Bardock kicked the gun of the Kanassan's hands and punched him right into the wall, making him slam hard into it and falling unconscious as well
"Pfiou, alright, time to get rid of the protection" Bardock said to himself as he brushed the sweet from his forehead and approached the control panel, and without really thinking much into it, he slammed his fist into the computer panel, making it explode and making multiple alarms flare instantaneously
*Warning, Warning, Ki nullification deactivated, Ki nullification deactivated*
"Good"
Bardock then proceeded to blow up the whole tower by piercing the top with a ki blast and launching his Riot Javelin right into the tower, making it collapse and explode on itself, killing the ones still inside
He also rapidly dispatched the other ones who searched for him earlier and then moved to another tower, making sure his comrades didn't have trouble just in case
As he arrived to Toma's assigned tower, he was positively surprised to see his tower already in pieces and him simply having fun with the Kanassian warriors
After checking on Selypa next and making sure she was also fine, he finally went into Toteppo and Shugesh's assigned towerβ¦
A complete deadpan expression was the only thing he could muster as these two idiots simply spammed the ki blasts into the tower just beside the Kanassian corpses
"Uh⦠Could you two tell me what you are doing exactly?" Bardock asked, crossing his arms and approaching them
"We're testing their durability! We were bored and already killed all of them so we tested how much their shield can take!" Shugesh simply said and Toteppo nodded beside him
"You- it's not exactly a shield you know? You could just spam it with ki blast for eternity and it wouldn't bulge"
"β¦What?"
"Nevermind, just join the others and I'll destroy this tower" Bardock released a sigh as the two looked at each other and shrugged, unconcerned "Sure"
"Alright" Bardock exclaimed as he stood in front of the control panel "It should make the city vulnerable and allow us no casualties" he then smashed it with his fist, making it explode and then proceeded to do what he did with the first tower
After observing it collapse on itself, he joined the others on their meeting point and together they planned their attack as they waited for the night to come and the Moon to show itself
Finally, after an hour and a half, the full Moon finally showed its face
"Alright, the whole city should be defenseless now so it should be a walk in the park, are you all ready to ramble?!" Bardock exclaimed as the whole gang screamed "YEAH!"
"Alright! Let's showdown!"

"What did I say? Flawless plan" Toma said as the whole gang were chilling and eating peacefully by the fire, having cooked some of the meat they brang and enjoying the aftermath of their victory
"Yes, good job, although it is strange that the Kanassan didn't manage to counter our attack, weren't they supposed to be psychics or something? It was kinda their whole point, like read minds and shit" Shugesh perplexedly commented
"Ah! If you want my opinion I think it was just a bunch of bullshit" Selypa stated between bites
But then out of nowhere, the last Kanassan survivor tore himself out of a little rocky formation, disrupting their conversation
"If only you all had mental reading capabilities, you would be able to hear the thoughts of my people as you slaughtered them!"
Then, the Kanassan warrior rushed at Bardock and managed to somehow land a chip shot at the back of his neck, surprising the latter and making him gasp in pain before falling forward on the ground
However, the Kanassan warrior didn't get the any luxury to rest as he got kicked from behind, sending him straight towards the ground as well and he barely had the time to get back up that he received a ki blast at his chest sent by Toma, which exploded straight on impact against him
"And stay down this tiβoh?" Toma cut himself as the Kanassan warrior showed to be way more resilient than they initially thought as he not only didn't even bulge from the ki blast impact but he also kept standing, still on fire
"Can't you just die already?!" Exclaimed Selypa, annoyed
"I'm afraid I can't die before leaving you with one last spite" The Kanassan survivor let out a sinister smile as he continued "Frieza will never have the power he was seeking" He then pointed towards Bardock "However, I have decided that YOU will be the unfortunate one"
"β¦What does that mean?" Bardock replied, unsure that he liked where this was going as he tried to stay on his feet
"Bardock, I now curse you with the ability to see first hand the demise of your own people just like I did! Enjoy watching while your loved ones get slaughtered before your very own eyes! HAHAHAHAβ" "SHUT UP!" The Kanassan's voice suddenly cut off as he got blasted into nothing by Bardock, rendering the whole scene in an uncomfortable silence
"... Any ideas what this guy was talking about?" Toteppo asked, completely lost on what just happened
"I don't know man, the loss of his guys must have craved something in his brain, don't you agree Bardock?" Shugesh was about to address Bardock, only for the later to fall straight to the ground again, unconscious
"... Bardock?"
"...Ugh, my headβ¦" Bardock blinked hard as he tried to locate where he was, at first he only could decipher two blurry silhouettes somewhere in front of him, but after his eyes adjusted he could now see that he was placed within an healing pod, observed by one of his Saiyan's comrade and a alien
The alien turned his head in his direction and saw that he was indeed awake, he then clicked on the drain button and spoke "Good afternoon Mr Bardock, it seems that you were in coma for 3 days, your crewmates brought you here to be healed and stayed here for a while until they left some time ago on a missionβ" Bardock grabbed the alien by his collar as soon as he got out "On what Planet did they go?!"
"Huh?! Planet Ra-466 sir! But please can you let me gβ" Bardock violently let go of the panicked alien and grabbed his comrade and clothes "You, come with me we don't have much time, we have to rejoin my group"
"Wha- wait hold on! Frieza requested all of us to be present to planet Vegeta as soon as possible andβ" "What?! I don't care about what he said! My whole crew is in danger!"
"β¦What do yo-" "Stop asking questions and just follow Kami damnit!"
The two then embarked in his little spaceship to the location told by the alien as fast as the engine could go, however upon arriving at destination, his fears actually came true
The bodies of all his crew, his friends, scattered among the battlefield
"Oh no no no no- What the fuc* happened?! Toteppo, Shugesh, Selypaβ¦"
But as he was about to lose hope, a groan of pain made itself known, he rushed at the position and he, by whatever miracle, managed to find Toma still alive, although hanging in the brink of death and bleeding profusely
Bardock immediately went beside his comrade and put his arm behind his head for support "Toma! Hang on, stay with me! What happened to you guys?!"
"*Cough* Bardockβ¦ I don't have much time left so please listen carefully *cough blood* Frieza, he betrayed us, he sent out Dodoria and his men to ambush us and finish us off, we didn't stand a chanceβ *stronger cough plus gasp of pain*" Toma tried to speak clear sentences with the little energy he had left but he was unfortunately struggling and he couldn't help but to cough in the middle of his sentences
"But why?!" Bardock exclaimed, confused and alarmed by this situation and by his friend's state "Frieza was the one who set us this mission, why would he want to get rid of us if we were useful?!"
Toma weakly shook his head "It's because we were "too" useful as Dodoria said, our power, your power, it scared him, we were becoming too strong and he feared that you might actually become the one in the legend one day, so now he is on his way to finish the rest of us along with our planet"
Bardock closed his fist in rage "Tch, why didn't I see it sooner?! Of course he would use every opportunity to get rid of us, if only I could see it coming, you guys wouldn't have to dieβ¦"
"*Cough* Again stop with this nonsense and listen to me, you have to go back to planet Vegeta and warn everyone of what he's planning, if you rally everyone together you might stand a chanceβ *cough*" Toma returned to a fit of cough for a few seconds until he calmed down again "Bardockβ¦ I'm sorry but I will not be able to continue this any longer so I have one last request to ask of you, if you somehow fail, please at least get my daughter out of there, she deserve so much more, please"
Bardock looked at his fallen best friend, the desperation of wanting to do something more but ultimately reduced to a broken mess on the floor clearly wounded him to the core, he will at least grant him this last request, well, try to "...I will do my best"
Toma smiled, happy, as he used the last fibber of his breath "Thank you and good luck⦠old friend"
"β¦What do we do now?" Exclaimed his comrade, clearly panicked of what to do as Bardock stood still for a moment, thinking, he then stood up and looked around at his fallen friends one by one, resolved strengthen "Here's what we're gonna do, we will return to Planet Vegeta as fast as possible, get the children out of there, bring everyone together, and then..."
"We KILL Frieza"
