Kara woke up in a dark and damp cage. She was sore and cold, and her head was pounding. She tried to move, but she was prevented by metal bars.
"Where am I?" she asked.
"You're in prison," said a voice from behind her.
Kara turned around and saw a man in a suit standing at the door of the cage. He had a government badge pinned to his chest.
"Why am I in prison?" she asked.
"You're a threat to national security," the man said. "You're being charged with terrorism."
Kara laughed. "I'm a terrorist?" she asked. "I'm a superhero! I've saved this city more times than you can count."
"It's not me you have to convince," the man said. "Your arrest was a direct order from the president. You will now be tried, and if you are found guilty... then you will face the consequences."
Kara felt a lump in her throat. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. She was being accused of a crime she didn't commit, and she would be tried by a government she had sworn to protect.
"This isn't fair," she said.
"Justice will be served," the man said. "Now, you're going to stay here until your trial date."
The man walked out of the cage and locked the door behind him. Kara was alone, in the darkness and the cold. She didn't know what was going to happen to her, but she knew she had to do something to prove her innocence.
Alex was sitting in the hospital, next to the bed of an unconscious Lena Luthor, as her sister had requested. When Lena's surgery was over and she was released to her room, Alex tried to talk to Kara but the communication was out of area. Alex was already dying of worry due to the lack of news when she received the news that Kara had been arrested by the government, along with J'onn who tried to help her. Alex immediately contacted all of her contacts within the government but was unable to do anything to help her sister, she could not even get permission to see her. She would have to wait for the trial. At least J'onn was soon released to await his trial in freedom.
As Alex knew that it was her sister's will, she stayed next to Lena holding her hand until she woke up.
Alex couldn't believe what was happening. Kara was in some cage alone and afraid by the, imprisoned by the government she had helped so much. And the worst, again Alex didn't know what to do to help her. Kara was a superhero, she had saved so many lives and that's how they paid her back. She was not a terrorist. She didn't deserve this.
Alex squeezed Lena's hand. She needed her friend, she knew that together they could do something to help Kara. She could not let her be tried and convicted for a crime she did not commit.
When Lena finally woke up. She was confused and afraid. She didn't know where she was, and she didn't know what had happened.
She saw Alex sitting next to her bed. Alex smiled when she saw her wake up.
"Hi Lena, how are you?" Alex asked.
"I'm fine, I think" she replied - What happened?
Alex told Lena what had happened at Kelly's house, how she had been injured by Lex. And then she remembered. She was happy to be alive, but she was also worried about Kara.
"Is she okay?" Lena asked.
Alex did not answer. She just looked at Lena with sadness.
"She's not," Alex said. "She's being held for terrorism by the American government."
Lena was shocked. "This can't be true. We have to get her out of there. She doesn't deserve this..."
Alex nodded. "We're going to prove her innocence. Will you help me?"
"Of course I'll help you, I don't want to spend even one more day of my life away from her."
