Asuka, Shinji, and Adam look on from the observatory to what was once the South Pole, now turned into a horrid wasteland that seemed to have come out the bowels of Hell itself.

"I can't believe we survived that…" Adam said.

"Yeah, we survived." Asuka stresses out. "Meanwhile, millions are dying all over the world right now because of the change in the planet's axis. Though that'll be the least of their problems." She mumbles the last part quietly. After the devastation, humanity will spend the next couple of years fighting each other for resources leading to a war that left the world worse for wear. It wasn't until the start of the 2010s that things started to calm down, mostly due to the upcoming threat of the Angels. "We should be thankful that we were spared from that nightmare."

"Yeah… spared." Shinji said. He couldn't find it in him to agree with Asuka's words. To him, there wasn't that much of a difference whether they survived or not. In his eyes, they could have easily prevented the deaths of possibly billions but instead they just let it happen and he should be happy about it!? What's worse is that they left Misato out there alone in that hellhole. How long will she survive before a rescue team comes for her? An hour? A day? A week?

He can't accept this.

He won't accept this.

"Hey…" Adam's voice snaps him out of his thoughts. "Are you alright?"

Shinji slowly nods. "Yeah… I was just thinking."

Adam doesn't look convinced. "Look, I know how you feel but there are just some things we can't avoid. If we tried to stop Second Impact, we would have done more harm than good. We are all the sum of our choices and if we remove one we'll lose an essential part of ourselves."

Shinji doesn't reply but takes his words to heart.

"Now come on, let's head to the console room; we've stayed in this era long enough." Adam walks towards the door with Asuka following suit.

She stops and turns to her roommate. "Hey, Third. Are you sure you'll be okay?"

Shinji turns back and gives Asuka a light smile. "Yeah, I just want to be alone for a while."

Asuka spares one concerned glance at the Third Child before promptly walking through the door leaving Shinji alone with his thoughts.

The Weltall foot thrusters activate and blast off into a wormhole. The robot traverses through the multi-colored tunnel at high speeds as it travels towards its destination.

Console Room

"We will arrive at our destination in 2 minutes 56 seconds." Rei states.

"Finally! We can go home!" Toji exclaims as he relaxes on his chair.

"Not yet Suzuhara. We still have to exit from the other side." Hikari counters.

Toji blows a raspberry. "Oh please. What could possibly go wrong?"

Kensuke narrows his eyes at Toji. "You really shouldn't jinx it, dude."

"Oh c'mon. What's the worst that can happen?" Toji asked.

As if answering his question, a familiar figure appears in the center of the room causing everyone to jump in surprised.

"T-That's-" Shinji began.

"It is the apparition from before." Rei finished.

Asuka glares at the jock. "You just had to ask, didn't you dumbass? You just had to dare the universe to screw us over."

Toji ignores Asuka and tries to hide in his chair.

Adam stands up from his chair and stares at the ghost girl. "...who are you?"

The ghost girl giggles and floats towards Adam until she meets his gaze, her face dangerously close to his own. The two stare at each other before the girl suddenly moves her arms and wraps them around his neck. Adam cringes at the cold sensation he is feeling in his neck but nothing prepares him for the eerie, chilling smile on the girl's face.

"You are not getting away from me again."

The girl disappears and the room begins to shake violently.

"What's happening!?" Shinji asked.

Outside, something tackles the Weltall and begins to pull it towards itself.

The alarm's noise drowns the entire room.

"Hold on, guys. Hold on!" Adam tries to assure everyone as he tries to regain control.

"What the hell is going on!?" Toji yells.

"Something's dragging us in! It's… some kind of black hole!" Kensuke yelled.

"Full power to the engines; get us out of here!"

"On it!" Hikari puts more power to the thrusters, but it doesn't budge.

"It's no use; gravity's too strong!" Kensuke said.

A sharp screeching is heard as black appendages wrap themselves around the mech.

"W-What the hell is that thing!?" Shinji said anxiously.

The computer scans the entity and is quickly able to identify it.

[SCANNING COMPLETE. TYPE-BLUE CONFIRMED]

"It is an Angel." Rei suddenly said, catching everyone's attention.

"An Angel!? You mean an Angel followed us here!?" Toji panicked. "Fuck, fuck, fuck! I'm not ready to die yet!"

Asuka slaps Toji. "Focus idiot! We have to find a way to kill this thing!"

"With what!? You don't have your EVAs. How the hell are you supposed to beat this thing without them!?" Toji argues.

The creaking becomes more prevalent as the Weltall is dragged closer.

"Hikari!" Asuka cried.

Hikari struggles with the controls. "It's no use… I can't break free!"

The Weltall is dragged further into the Angel until it is completely swallowed whole.

Adam slowly opens his eyes. "What… happened…?" He struggles to stand up, grabbing the edge of his console for support. "Is everyone okay?"

The others groan as they all try to get up. "What happened? Last thing I remember was…"

"The Angel." Rei states. "An Angel ambushed us and pulled us in."

"But… to where?" Hikari asks.

Adam massages his head. "Hikari. Get us out of here."

Hikari tries to get the Weltall moving only to hear the mech creak as something is holding it tightly. It struggles more but it cannot escape this inhuman grip.

Hikari sighs and turns around. "It's no use. We're stuck."

Adam activates the controls and the screen shows them… nothing. A black void with no end in sight.

"Well, that's new." Toji quips.

"No… that's not possible." Everyone turns to Adam.

"What is it?" Shinji asks.

Adam looks at them with distress. "Madness! According to these readings, we are in the exact same place we were before."

Everyone's eyes widened.

"How!? This looks nothing like where we were before." Asuka said.

Adam continues to run his analysis. "I'm getting to that." The computer shows the results. "What the hell!?"

"What is it?"

"According to this, the place the Angel pulled us in is only six hundred eighty meters in diameter with a thickness of three nanometers. But that can't be right because if that's the case, the Wetall would not be able to fit properly let alone hold it in place." Adam states. "Whatever this Angel is, it's something we've never seen before."

"Can't we just blast our way out of here. If this place is as small as you say then it should be pretty easy for us to get out of here." Kensuke said.

Adam shakes his head. "I don't think that's how it works. From what I can tell this Angel is able to hold the Weltall down pretty well despite the fact that it shouldn't. The only reasoning I can think of is that the Angel is somehow dimensionally transcendental."

"Dimen- what now?" Toji said.

"It means the Angel is bigger on the inside than it is on the outside." Asuka explains. "How do you not know this?"

"Not all of us went to some fancy university, princess." Toji retorts.

"So we're in some kind of pocket dimension?" Shinji asked.

Adam nods.

"The Dirac Sea." Everyone turns to Rei. "It is an imaginary space connecting from one universe to another."

Asuka arches an eyebrow. "And how exactly do you know this, Wondergirl?"

"The Commander had Dr. Akagi research it." Rei said.

"For what exactly?"

Rei looks down. "I… do not know."

"Did her research say any way to escape this Dirac Sea?" Adam asks.

Rei shakes her head. "The dimension is closed off to everything. It is impossible to escape."

Adam clicks his tongue before his attention shifts to the room as it begins to creak. The lights in the console room flicker in and out until they don't come back on at all, then the room lights up red as the emergency power kicks in.

"What just happened?" Hikari says what's on everyone's minds.

Adam pulls up a camera feed of the engine room wrapped in ghost-like tentacles as the charts get progressively lower. "The Angel's in the engine room! It's draining all of the power!" Adam frantically goes through the controls. "I can't stop it!"

"What!?" Everyone screams out.

"Main engines offline, weapon systems offline, and life support systems are already down to 75%!" Adam continues. "If this continues… we'll all die within the next 10 minutes!"

"Then what are we supposed to do!?" Asuka yelled.

"I… I don't know." Adam panics.

The entire room goes silent as they contemplate the impossible situation they're in.

"..."

"..."

"..."

"So… any ideas?" Toji asked.

"Oh, well I don't know, maybe we can overload the engines sending us screening towards the core causing a chain reaction that will *pow* send us flying home." Asuka sarcastically remarks while making a boom gesture.

"H-Hey! I was just asking a question." Toji said.

" Your questions are stupid." Adam shot back.

"Hey, don't get mad at Toji, he's only trying to help!" Hikari yelled.

Adam huffs. "Help? He left us almost stranded in the Cretaceous Period! If it wasn't for me, you'd all be dinosaur shit!"

"Oh please, all you've done is complain about every single little thing because it doesn't meet your glorious standards." Hikari retorts. "It boggles the mind how someone like you can be an EVA pilot."

"At least, I was chosen! You're just some no-name extra who no one will even remember!" Asuka argued.

"Ugh, you're such a bitch!" Hikari exclaims.

"And you're a freaking doormat!"

"Enough." Surprisingly, it was Rei who spoke up. "Arguing like this will not help us in this ordeal. It is imperative that we find a way to leave the Dirac Sea before we expire."

"Rei's right. We have to find a way out of here." Shinji adds.

The two girls let out a huff and look away.

Adam lets out a sigh. "Moving on, I think we should go with Asuka's plan."

Hearing this, Asuka arches an eyebrow. "What are you talking about?"

"Your plan to overload the engines so we can ram ourselves into the core." Adam clarifies.

Asuka's eyes widened. "I-I was joking when I said that! There's no way that plan will work!"

"It's the best bet we got. Besides, if we're gonna die then we should die on our own terms." Adam said.

"You are such an edgelord…" Asuka comments.

"Love you too, red." Adam turns and walks out of the room.

"H-Hey!" Shinji runs after him.

"W-What are you doing, baka!?" Asuka yells.

Shinji runs towards his doppelganger. "Adam!"

Adam turns to look back. "Shinji?"

Shinji stops and takes a deep breath. "L-Let me come with you…!"

Adam's brows furrowed. "Shinji, this is dangerous. There's an Angel inside the engine room, I can't guarantee your safety."

"And what about you!? What about your safety!?" Shinji counters. "What are you going to do when the Angel spots you!?"

"... someone has to do it." Adam said.

"But why you!?"

Adam sighs. "Shinji, this whole situation happened because of me. I'm the reason why you're all marooned on this ship."

"But it wasn't your fault, remember? If Asuka hadn't lost temper, this wouldn't have happened." Shinji points out.

"It doesn't change the fact that this all happened on my watch. And now… you're all going to die." Adam looks down in shame before he feels something on his shoulder. "...?"

"Please… don't say that…" Shinji said. "I… It's not your fault. I don't even blame you for this, I don't even blame Asuka. I-I enjoyed my time with everyone, I wouldn't change it for anything."

"Shinji…" Adam looks at his twin. "... you've changed."

"Huh?"

"Before you were, and I'm gonna be blunt here, a total wimp. You look like the type to run the first chance you get." Adam states.

Shinji flinches at the remark, mainly because it was true.

"But seeing you, hearing you say something like that, makes me see how much you've changed since we first met." Adam smiles. "I think… you're starting to become your own person."

"Adam…"

"And I'm not the one. I mean, have you seen the way Asuka looks at you?" Adam elbows him gently. "She's definitely got the hots for you, ya know what I'm sayin'?"

"S-Shut up!" Shinji exclaims. "And you're no better. Ayamani seems to be into you just as much."

Adam arches an eyebrow. "Rei, really? I didn't think she had in her. She's always so… off."

"Well, you're not wrong." Shinji chuckles.

The two chuckle before it evolves into laughter. For a short time, the two interacted like they were genuine siblings. It made them briefly forget the situation they were in and just enjoy the time they have together.

Meanwhile

Rei, Asuka, Toji, Kensuke, and Hikari sat on the floor staring blankly on the ceiling.

"Say Asuka… is this how you imagined it?" Kensuke began.

"Imagine what?" Asuka asked.

"How things would end." Kensuke said. "I imagined dying on a battlefield, protecting everyone with my last breath."

"No." Asuka scowls.

"..." Kensuke ponders for a moment. "How about dreams? Do you have any dreams for the future?"

"Well, I wanna be a famous athlete!" Toji exclaimed. "I love sports so turning that into a career sounds awesome!"

"A career where you don't have to think much, sounds perfect for a monkey like you." Asuka remarks.

"What did you say!?"

"Well, mine is obviously a soldier and if that doesn't work a police officer will do." Kensuke said.

"Hm." Toji hums and turns to Hikari. "What about you, prez?"

Hikari blushes. "W-Well, I don't wanna sound corny or anything…"

"C'mon, prez, just tell us. We're not gonna laugh at you."

"I… I wanna have kids and have a loving family." Hikari said.

Toji blushes and begins to imagine himself and Hikari together holding a pair of babies in their arms.

"... that sounds nice. I'm… kind of jealous." Asuka mutters, causing the trio to give her a look.

"What do you mean, Asuka? Don't you have dreams, too?" Hikari asked.

Asuka doesn't look at them. "... I'm not like you all. I was training to be an EVA pilot, everyday the adults would tell me to be better, to be the perfect pilot. So I trained, and trained, and trained. Ever since I could remember, I was always training."

Everyone listens intently to the redhead.

"So no, Hikari, I don't have a dream. I have a mission: to kill all Angels." Asuka said.

"Asuka… you can't-"

"Can't what, class rep, live like this? Just who do you think you are!?" Asuka yelled.

Hikari looks at the redhead intensely before uttering two words. "... your friend."

This catches Asuka off guard but then turns away from everybody. "Whatever…"

There was an awkward silence as the atmosphere turned melancholic.

"Sooooo… What about you, Rei? Any big dreams you'd like to share?" Toji asks, trying to break the ice.

The First Child takes blankly at her classmate. "No, I do not."

"Seriously, are EVA pilots this bland?" Toji bluntly asks.

"Toji!"

"I was born without dreams, my purpose is to pilot the EVA. It is the reason for my existence." Rei states.

"Rei…" Hikari whispered.

Kensuke hisses and Toji lets out a faint "fuck" under his breath.

Asuka glances at Wondergirl, 'she's the same as me…' she thought before she shakes her head. 'No! What am I saying!? She is nothing like me! I… I'm not a doll!'

"But," Everyone's eyes turn back to Rei. "I have been having these… strange thoughts lately. I do not understand why but… whenever I think of Adam… there is this strange discomfort in my chest." She takes her right hand and places it on her chest. "I wanted to ask Dr. Akagi about it but I did not get the opportunity to do so-"

"-because you got stuck here along with us, right?" Asuka finished.

Rei nods.

"... gott, you're such an idiot." Asuka says out loud. "It's pretty obvious what's wrong: you're in love with the Wonder Twin."

Rei tilts her head. "Love?"

Asuka stands up. "Yeah! Do you not know what love is!?" Rei doesn't say anything. "... you don't, do you?"

"The books NERV procured for me did not teach the concept." Rei states.

"Rei…" The First Child turns to Hikari. "Love is… something you feel towards someone. Someone that you enjoy being with."

"Like Commander Ikari?"

*Record scratch noise*

"... what?" Asuka asked.

"I enjoy being with Commander Ikari." Rei states.

Hikari's body begins to tremble. "R-Rei… w-what exactly does Shinji's father do with you?"

"He takes me to dinner and would sometimes undress me." Rei replies.

*Glass break!*

"W… what the fuck!?" Toji yelled.

"Dude…" Kensuke's equally shocked.

"R-Rei, a-are y-you t-telling us t-that Shinji's father… raped you…?" Hikari reluctantly asks.

"... it was consensual." Rei replies.

"You stupid moron… you really are a special case." Asuka growls. "He is clearly taking advantage of you! You say you're fine with it!? How can you call yourself a person if you're just being used as someone's main squeeze!?"

"But Commander Ikari-"

"He's not the commander! He doesn't even qualify as a human being! He-!" Asuka lets out a shriek as she pulls her hair. "Argh, it's like I'm talking to a brick wall!"

Rei just looks confused as Asuka begins to let out curses in german.

"Rei…" She turns to her class representative. "I… god, I don't know what to say. I'm in junior highschool, I'm not a therapist!" Hikari takes a deep breath. "What the commander does to you is not right. Whether it was consensual or not, he should not take advantage of you like that." She said, "If you continue like this, you end up in a situation you may never get out of."

"Even if I die, there are replacements." Rei told her.

"..." No one said anything, they're all too stunned by just emotionally and mentally detached Rei truly is.

'Hurry up, you bakas. I don't know how long I can keep this up.' Asuka mentally prays.

Unknown to them all, the ceiling begins to twist and shift.

Shinji and Adam arrive at the entrance of the engine room.

"Help me with this." Adam grabs one side of the door and Shinji grabs the other. "On three. One, two… three!" The two use all of their strength to pry the door open. Eventually, a gap forms in between and it slowly expands until it is wide enough for people to go through.

Shinji and Adam quickly go inside and are horrified by what they find. Large tendrils snarl the entire structure, corrupting it with an unknown substance that causes veins to form around the walls, floors and other machinery.

In short, it was real-life horror.

"The engine…" Shinji said, mortified by the sight but his attention quickly switches to Adam walking. "What are you doing?"

Adam walks up to the wall and presses on it, causing it to sink in and slide off revealing some sort of number pad. "If we can't do it from here, then we'll have to head to the source." He begins to input a code.

"The source?" Shinji asked.

Adam finishes typing and the pad glows green. Suddenly, the floor next to him begins to sink and shift revealing a hidden empty space.

He turns to Shinji. "C'mon. We don't have much time."

Shinji reluctantly obeys and follows Adam as stairs begin to appear with every step he takes.

As the two head down, Adam suddenly says something. "Do you remember what I told you all about the warp generator? About how it makes time travel possible?"

"Yes…?"

"Well… that's only half the truth." Adam admits. "What the warp generator does is filter the power coming from the core for more practical use. The time travel part was just an unforeseen side effect."

"What…?" Shinji looks confused.

"I know, I also don't get it. Time travel has always been… a complicated subject." Adam said.

As they walk, it gets darker and darker until there is no light source whatsoever. Eventually, the stairs end and they both stand on a platform of sorts.

"Hold on, let me get the lights." Adam grabs a switch and flips it and the room bursts with light.

Shinji hisses as he covers his eyes due to the light attack. His eyes quickly adjust and he is able to finally see a face… a very familiar face.

"Is that... Unit-01?" Shinji asked as he stared at the crucified giant.

It was definitely Unit-01, however, it looked different than what he recalled; a less humanoid body frame in place for a bulkier form, less green across the body, and overall looked much... older. There are cables and wires attached to its body, with many more connected to an all too familiar red sphere in its torso.

"It was found on the dark side of the moon, where it was moved and studied for research. I honestly didn't know what to make of it until I came to NERV and saw theirs." Adam explained.

"But how can there be two of them?" Shinji asked.

"I have no clue."

Shinji turns to Adam. "Do you think it came from another time? Another world?"

"Definitely." Adam then blinks as he remembers something. "Oh right! I need your help with this!" He jumps off the platform and lands on the one below it.

Shinji looks down and sees Adam pulling a cable. "What are you doing?"

"If we can't… use the controls above then… we'll just have to do it… ourselves!" He manages to unplug the cable from its place. "Here! Don't drop it!" He throws the cable at Shinji and he manages to catch it.

"What are you going to do with this?" He asks as Adam quickly moves to another cable.

"We… are going to jumpstart the Weltall!" Adam pulls another cable out.

Shinji grabs another cable. "Jumpstart?"

"Despite how it looks, Unit-01 is not actually offline. It is locked in a perpetual state of activation, its AT Field constantly active." Adam explains as he fiddles with dangling wires and circuit boards. "Do you remember the 8th Angel's AT Field and that it was powerful enough to bend light? Well, this AT Field can bend reality; time and space into visible form. Opening portals left and right, without a care in the world. It's how it suddenly appeared on the moon one day."

"Then, the Weltall is-"

"A giant mechanical containment device. Without this, Unit-01 would just warp around time and space randomly…. Along with anything else that gets caught in its path." Adam finishes his tinkering as he climbs his way back up.

"What did you do?" Shinji asked.

"I redirected the energy flow and set power buffers to maximum," Adam picks up the two cables. "When I connect these cables together, all of the energy will immediately flow back into Unit-01, causing a reaction that will overload it. If this works, the Weltall will be thrown into a wormhole back into normal space or…"

"...or?"

"Or we'll blow up. Either way, we only have one shot at this." Adam sighs and looks at Shinji. "Before I do this, I just wanted you to know that you were fantastic, Shinji, and that you are the greatest thing that's ever happened to me."

Shinji's eyes widened, not expecting those words. "I-" But then he's mortified. "Behind you!"

"!?" Tendrils phase through the walls and snare Adam.

"Adam!" Shinji rushes to help but is also trapped by a series of tendrils.

In the control room, everyone is also trapped in tendrils.

"Urgh…!" Adam tries to reach for the cables but he can't reach them. The tendrils snare him completely until all he sees is darkness.

Adam's eyes shoot open and he is greeted by the night sky and the sound of waves.

"What…?" He stands up and sees that he is on a beach with a red sea just like back in Shinji's time, however there are third differences.

One is the Evangelion-like effigies planted all over the area. They have no heads and have holes in their chests.

The second is the feel of this place. It was… dead. There's no life at all, nothing.

The third, and honestly most disturbing part, he knows this place. He can feel the emotion bubbling in his chest as he stares at this dead place.

He felt sadness and… guilt.

"Where… am I…?" Adam asks.

"This is the world that lies within your soul."

Adam turns and sees the ghost girl standing behind him. "You… you're the Angel, aren't you?"

"..." The Angel just stares at me.

"... what do you want?"

The Angel looks up and Adam catches a glimpse of its deep red eyes. "You did this…"

Adam quirks an eyebrow. "Pardon?"

"You were supposed to die. Someone like you, who cannot form bonds with others, cannot live for themselves." The Angel states.

Adam's brows furrowed. "What are you talking about? I have bonds, I have people who care about me."

"No. They care about him. You are simply his shadow." The Angel counters.

"Shut up…" Adam whispers.

"You are nothing but an aberration. You leach off the bonds of others." The Angel continues.

"Shut up." Adam's voice growls louder.

"You are not Shinji Ikari."

"SHUT THE FUCK UP!" Adam lunches at the Angel and pins her down on the sand before he begins to strangle her.

"How long are you going to keep hurting me?" Adam sees himself strangling a faceless thing with red hair and blue eyes in a plugsuit, her left bandaged and her right arm encased in a cast.

"!?" Adam is startled and quickly jumps back and falls on the sand. He looks up and sees the Angel staring down at him.

"W-What was that…?" Adam can't comprehend what he saw.

"This is how Lilim uses the light of their souls… creating a world where their most innermost feelings reside. For you, a hollow doll, the world inside you is already dead… a fitting fate for you." The Angel said. "What you witnessed… is something that has been locked away… hidden from you since the day you were born…"

"Who… was she…?" Adam mutters out loud.

"I do not know and I don't care. I am here for you," The Angel raises her hand at Adam. "I will make you pay for what you did…"

As the Angel walked towards Adam, the boy's mind was somewhere else. His thoughts raging erratically, a first time for someone usually so calm. For some odd reason, her words hit him deep. It found a weakness in his armor and hit him full force. And why was he feeling such overwhelming guilt and sadness? Why is his world so dead? Did he cause this? How? Why?

The Angel's hand is just mere inches from his face. "Retribution…"

Only for something to grab it.

"Who dares-" But stops as she sees the entity before her. "No!"

"YOU WILL NOT HURT HIM." The entity engulfs everything in light.

The Angel screams.

*Gasp!* Adam opens his eyes but tentacles obscure his vision. He uses all of his strength to move and manages to move his right arm and break it out. He does the same with the other arm and he reaches out and manages to grab both cables.

"Go to hell." He connects both cables together.

The lights go out.

*BA~BUMP*

*BA~BUMP*

*BA~BUMP*

And Unit-01's eyes began to glow.

The Weltall's optics begin to glow, burning with enormous power.

It moves its limbs forward, overpowering the tentacles before they rip apart, freeing them. It then rips the tentacles off its torso before it activates its thrusters and blasts off.

The Weltall is free.

It charges forward, its target is the red light in the distance.

"No… No! I will not allow you to ruin everything again!" The Angel roars and sends more tentacles to stop it.

The Weltall dodges all of the tentacles. It performs a barrel roll and rips two tentacles off. It activates its weapons, unveiling the multiple missile ports on its body and fires them all at once in an omnidirectional attack.

"AHHHHHHHHHHH!" The core glows and in a flash fires a powerful particle beam.

An AT Field appears in front of the Weltall and deflects the particle beam. The mech reels its left arm back as it raises closer to the core and delivers a powerful punch.

The core cracks and shatters causing an explosion that engulfs the entire Dirac Sea and the ghost girl disappears.

The Weltall spirals out of control as it is spat back into normal space and gets caught in a gravity field and descends on a red planet.

"Mmm…" Adam slowly gets up. "S-Shinji…?"

"I'm here…" Shinji groaned as he slowly got up. "W-What happened…?"

"Well, since we didn't blow up, I'd say the plan worked." Adam states. "We should check on the others."

"R-Right…" Shinji follows Adam out of the chamber and back into the now Angel-free engine room. "The Angel's gone."

"Everything's shut down, so I don't think we'll be going anywhere for a while." Adam walks through the half opened door. "Question is, where did we end up?"

"And when." Shinji adds.

The two made their way through the dark and creepy halls, with only emergency lights lighting their path. Finally, they make it to the control room and pry the doors open where they see everyone is also okay.

"You're back! I thought you might have…" Hikari cries with joy.

Adam grabs her shoulder for comfort. "Hey, hey, don't cry."

"You guys missed it. These weird tentacles appeared out of nowhere and attacked us. I genuinely thought they were going to have their way with us." Kensuke said.

Everyone sweat drops at the statement.

"I think you've watched too much anime, dude." Toji remarks.

Rei suddenly hugs Adam. "I'm glad you're okay."

Shinji, to his shock, also gets a hug from Asuka. "A-Asuka!?"

"Don't. Just… don't." Asuka says with pink dusting on her face.

After another moment, everyone calmed down and Adam explained what happened including what happened in the engine room.

"I can't believe you had Shinji's EVA in here this entire time." Kensuke said.

"It is not Ikari-kun's Unit-01, but an alternate version of it." Rei states.

"Well, it would explain why the ship can time travel. I mean if an AT Field can be powerful enough to bend light why not time?" Asuka said.

Adam types on the console. "Well, there should be enough power to see where we ended up." Adam pushes one more button and the screen activates.

… and they are all greeted by armored vehicles and soldiers.

"Attention unidentified vessel, this is the Anti-NERV counter strike force WILLE. Come out peaceful or we will be forced to use lethal force."

"Goddamnit." Adam said.

Author Notes

Yep. It's back, after a two-year long hiatus it's finally back.

I don't have much to say other than don't give this too much hate. I had this chapter already written but stopped half way and I had to rewrite it because I had forgotten where I was originally going with this.

In other words, I am rusty and it shows.

I don't know why I stopped writing in the first place, but now I'm back with new motivation.

So, I hope you all look forward to future updates because I know I am.

Next chapter will be on Omni Ranger.

Then it's back to Grand Journey.

Peace~
