When they finally got home and they met Alfred, he seems like a very kind person, but he also seems to hide a wealth of experience and skill, he may pretend to be a butler, but both Naruto and Sasuke saw that this man reminded them of the Third Hokage more than anything, wise, powerful, but at the same time kind.
Wayne Manor only had one road leading to it, and to Sasuke, it looked to be more akin to a building the size of a castle than a mansion. Beautiful gardens, but he felt pity for the stupid crook that tried to rob this place, from a brief look at the place, he could tell this place held many defenses, some of which he wished had been used in the construction of the Uchiha District, had they had these, maybe more of his clan might have survived.
Naruto was laser-focused on one place of the entire place, and that was the kitchen. He marveled at everything in that kitchen and all sorts of cooking tools and instruments that never existed in their village, the one he couldn't believe was a machine to kneed the dough and make pasta of various types, Sasuke thought this means only one thing, the Dobe is going back to his ramen addiction. There are more food types and a lot more variety, he often argued with his friend that he should eat a more balanced diet, only for Naruto to tell him to shut up and mind his own business.
When Bruce and Bryce returned home, the very thing that Sasuke dreaded actually happened, Naruto tried to get closer to Bryce, and Sasuke couldn't help but feel cringe as he shamelessly tried to flirt with the young woman who was technically his sister, a sentiment Bruce may not show but Sasuke was sure he did feel.
Bruce was a tall, muscular man, who appears to have good training habits, Bryce on the other hand, was equally as strong but took great care of her appearance and the way her body looked to others. She had the sort of body that could make teenagers drop to their knees and worship her as a goddess, they both had black hair, but Bryce had her long black hair styled in a way that enhanced how her face looked.
This made no sense to Sasuke at all, most of the time she would have to wear hair nets and a mask to do most of the things she needs to do, such as surgeries. Short hair is easier to handle and would cut down on the time needed to prepare for an operation. He then heard a woman laughing, "Leave it to a boy to think things in terms of practicality, in most cases you are correct, short hair and short nails would be the standard of how most surgeons would choose, but I am not like most surgeons, I am skilled enough to have my long hair and manicured fingernails, you forget the psychological effect of being comforted by a beautiful woman, such a person would remind most patients of their mother, and thus help calm them down."
Sasuke told her that he and Naruto were not doctors, surgeons, or medics, they were ninjas, and thus their training and skills are geared towards the taking of lives rather than saving them, "We are not heroes, we engage in things most people, especially the samurai would consider dishonorable tactics, even if you choose to ignore history, ninjas must have at one point existed here, and what we did was probably far worse than anything they could do."
Thomas asked why would that be the case, Sasuke told him that they have mastered the use of Chakra, an energy that allows them to do things most people in this world would consider impossible or even godly, the fact is nobody could use it in their world before both Sasuke and Naruto landed. "You always complain every time I infuse my chakra into any planet we land on, but you must have realized that like many other worlds, this world's capacity to generate Chakra had gone dormant, inactive if not inert, but you guessed correctly I did infuse my chakra throughout the world and the planet has begun to generate chakra, most people probably felt a little dizzy as their chakra networks were being restarted."
Sasuke told him once again the reason he is against doing that is because it made another planet a potential target for their grandmother's family, another world that the Okutsuki would want to come and reap, and unlike their own world this world would have little to no chance against them.
Thomas decided to ask what is exactly that made them different from what they once knew of the ninja, without even wasting a second, Naruto looked at him and as smoke began to surround him, and the smoke cleared a dozen copies of Naruto were standing around them. Upon seeing this he nodded his head and each of them after a few seconds had a spinning ball of energy in their hands, all this was amazing for them to see.
"Spies, Messengers, Guards, Arsonists, Saboteurs, Thieves, and Assassins, all of these jobs could be done by ninjas and many more, you are mistaken to think we don't know the effects of beauty on the mind, Kunoichi, the women who do as we do, used their sex appeal and beauty as part of their arsenal, they used it to obtain information, seduce enemies, and even kill people, pretend that she wants to sleep with someone, and when that person is not looking, strike, using poisons and concoctions that would make anyone else think the poor guy died of a heart attack."
Martha liked the sound of this and asked them to follow her to a nearby training room for her and her students, the room had countless booby traps, and security devices such as cameras and sensor plates, and in the end, it was a small ring with a jewel, "You say you two were active ninjas, very well, I will have both of you attempt to steal that ring, one at a time, I will use this watch to time you, Bryce told them this is the place where their mother put them through hell thanks to her training regiment, and wished them good luck as she left the place, Bruce told them that not to take this test for granted, take it seriously if they want to succeed before he too left the room.
Naruto and Sasuke took at first five minutes to steal the ring, something that did not please Martha one bit, "Five minutes, to steal something this easy, either your lives were a lot easier than you think they were, or your skills got rusty. I see that I will need you to undergo the same training as Bruce, Bryce and Selena, and my other two children." Naruto not liking her tone asked her to set an example and see how fast could she do that, she gave him the stopwatch and told him to start it, and in thirty seconds she was back holding the ring like it was nothing at all. Both Naruto and Sasuke considered this to be impossible.
"A woman my age and I still managed to do this little exercise in less than a minute, in my prime I probably could have done that in even less time, so get comfortable boys, cause from now till the day you can steal that ring in less a minute, you both shall be trained by me, and even though I am your mother, don't expect me to take it easy on you."
For ten years, both Naruto and Sasuke were sure of a few things, one is never, ever, mess with Bryce's hair care products, Naruto tried to add hair coloring to her shampoo that would make her hair turn pink, let's just say she was not happy about that, Sasuke learned that Bruce didn't have a sense of humor, or that he would ever forgive or forget a grudge, having lost a bet on a dart game, he didn't like the fact that according to Bruce, Sasuke cheated. Last but not least any time during their training with their mother dearest, Kakashi was laughing his ass off in hell.
This made the stuff that students were going through in the academy look like a picnic, she was brutal, demanding, expected efficiency, and demanded perfection, fail to meet her expectations and there would be hell to pay. She was usually a warm and caring mother to them, but the second the training session began, she turned into a person who could cause the cruelest drill instructor to beg for mercy and cry for his mommy.
And the source of their misery and pain was that damnable test chamber, and that stupid ring, no matter what they tried to do to get one over her, make an exact replica of the ring, use clones to pretend to be them, and sneak before the test even started to simply take the ring, and toss it back, nothing worked. Martha could find the damn ring with her eyes closed, she could tell it was a fake, and the real one was still in the same place, and as the clones, she punched the clone hard enough to burst into ashes, and the only thing she would do is not raise her voice, she didn't berate them or told them off for trying to do this to her, instead she just raised the difficulty of the training, so every time they did something like that from that moment on their training was harder, harsher and longer.
Sasuke one night simply asked her why doesn't just hit them, or beat them up? Martha smiled at him and simply told him something he was not expecting, "Because you will not learn if I do, I don't need to hurt you to get you to understand what you did was wrong, and instead of hitting you, I rather teach you the consequences of your actions, it's that simple. Now come on even you should know that there is a glass panel that will come out even if either of you tried to throw that ring, and why do I know that ring? Simple, it's my engagement ring, how could I ever forget it?"
As time went by during their training, or torture, depending on who you ask, they both began to help their brother and sister, Bruce and Bryce who much like his father and his father before him had inherited the cowl, and was the current Batman and Batwoman, Naruto was quite clear that he would never be his sidekick, not a chance in hell he would accept becoming a Robin.
Sasuke took a much different approach if his eldest brother can do undercover work as a mobster, then there really is no reason why he couldn't do work as a freelance mercenary, granted that didn't exactly make people trust him, mercenaries were only as loyal based on the amount they were being paid, and could turn on a client on the drop of a dime. Sasuke used that uncertainly and used fear to his benefit, it didn't take long before Sasuke was known by the underworld and feared by many under the name of the Red Hood, stories were spread, that the reason he is called Red Hood is that he is so brutal any fight he ends up in, ends in a bloodbath, some even say the only reason he wears that red helmet, and never shows his face, is because he doesn't have one, and underneath he looks like a man with a blood red skull.
His work was important but he never would abandon or neglect his family, Bruce received much information on many slave trades, drug shipments, and other nefarious business deals thanks to Sasuke sending him information through a secret communication line, built in Wayne Enterprises' communication network. Naruto much to his Delight did in fact end up wearing something that was mostly black with a few orange highlights, while he did not become one of the people who would call boy wonder or Robin, he did end up getting a name thanks to the markings on his helmet, and the name simply was remembered by people, they called him Red X.
As time went by Red Hood became a feared name by many criminal groups, and many nations consider it a blessing that they were able to secure a contract with him, he started by himself, but as his infamy spread, and more successful missions were under his belt, many of the enemy who had once fought to kill him, decided to join him instead. His Mercenary Company was seen by many as the defenders of the weak, but many simply said they actually were the hounds of hell that were sent to devour the souls of the living.
It was not something that was mentioned as negative publicity or insult, the emblem that the Mercenary company had was that of a growling hellhound, he tactfully used fear in everything in his mercenary company, everything from how they were dressed to the emblem was chosen to cause absolute terror in anyone that went up against them. Red Hood was always someone his men could never tell what he would do, most people would be furious at such comments about them, but Red Hood on the other side couldn't help but laugh out loud when he heard what their enemies often said about them, to him, it was the funniest thing he ever heard.
Red Hood brought many attempted coups down and saved the people of quite a few nations, who were among the few people that were honestly grateful to him, but he never claimed fame or glory, saying that in the end, he was only doing a job, another day at work, and the only thing he ever expected was his paycheck.
He could see into the dark hearts of these would-be tyrants, for Sasuke knew had it not been for his friend, he would probably end up just like them or worse. Red X also had his negatives, however, was dealing with loss and anger, to see the people he considers precious and see them either be hurt or worse, killed, this enraged him to the point that he lost control of himself, and that is to something Naruto had to come to terms with and accept.
As they both sat down in the living room they were not having a good day, they had to remember all the things they had been doing as Red Hood and Red X, horrible nightmares, and now no thanks to the news they both saw something they considered absolutely stupid, Superman with the backing of a senator decided to take on the job of nuclear arms disarmament, quite literally, he had every single nuclear missile fired into space, and in a giant metal net, he slowly collected every single one as his plan was to toss them into the largest known nuclear reactor, the sun.
"You know this is fucking stupid, don't you Sasuke?" Sasuke looked at Naruto and told him it was beyond stupid, it was also harmful, that is when Bryce asked what does he mean by that, hearing his sister's question he decided to answer her. "Nuclear weapons are immensely destructive, and thanks to that fact, they are called weapons of mass destruction true, but ever since the creation of nuclear arms, and so many countries having them, there have been fewer global wars, and wars in general than ever before. This is due to the philosophy of mutually assured destruction, not even Russia in the throws of the cold war would ever want a nuclear war."
He looked at his sister and waited for her to understand what he said, "So it makes no sense, that a senator would not only be in favor but publicly show his support of eliminating all nuclear weapons, it just doesn't make sense, if I think of this in another way, I could only think that someone is trying to take away every means for this planet to defend themselves, I know it sounds crazy and paranoid, but something tells me that isn't the real senator, and he is trying to make our planet weaker, for something sinister." Naruto asked him what could that be? What could this man pretending to be that senator want? What would be his goal? Sasuke told them both that deep down he feels like he is preparing the planet for invasion.
"Oh come off it Sasuke, alien invasions are pure fiction, I blame this on you watching too many Science Fiction movies or reading too many Science fiction horror stories. Come on Sasuke the government may be bad at their job, but this is borderline insanity, do you honestly think that our government has no way to verify the identities of important officials? To help him do something like this, that senator has the highest level of security clearance, which means they studied him and verified him so deeply that they probably know what he had for dinner, who he ate it with, and how many hairs he has on his balls."
Sasuke called the last comment a little too vulgar, but he understood the sentiment, "You don't want to talk about this crazy feeling I got, fine, why don't we discuss the fact that for the last two months, no one in our family has been able to have a peaceful nights sleep. Cause I don't think I am the only one having these horrible dreams." Bryce told Sasuke that he wasn't, did he have a dream of how apparently the people on a planet were killed, and somehow it always ends in the image of a base in New Mexico?"
Sasuke smiled and told her that more than likely it was Area fifty-one, and the place she was talking about was probably Roswell. "Oh come off it Sasuke, I get it, you probably watched that DVD collection of yours of every episode of the X-Files, didn''t know that Bryce apparently also liked that show? Did you two watch it together? If so, why didn't you invite me?"
Sasuke told him he did not even own that series collection, to begin with, and no, he didn't watch that television show in the past two months if not in a few years, "Look let's say that the US government decided to hold an alien captive in a secret military base, where not even the president knows what happens if nobody knows about it and they can't tell anyone, how the hell would they fund that damn place if they can put it in the national budget?"
Sasuke could only think by taking money from another government program, say for instance NASA, they could get the funds from taking money from the budget given to NASA, Sasuke looked at Naruto and Bryce and he smiled, "Come on, you don't think they actually spend ten thousand dollars on a hammer, or thirty thousand dollars on a toilet seat, do you? They inflate how much they spend and the money not being spent is what probably funds that base."
"So what do you think Bruce is doing right now? Off for yet another date with that lady that is supposed to be his future wife? Or is he beating up some crooks in Gotham, like usual?" Sasuke told Naruto that if they had been having these dreams, chances are Bruce is also having the same dreams, so he is probably already working out what those dreams mean and looking into the source of the person manipulating their dreams. That is not even to mention that in fact, Sasuke doubts they are the only ones that had to endure these nightmares.
Naruto agreed and he also said that maybe they should use the connections Wayne Tech had with NASA and other Defense departments, to look into what is being done with the orbital telescopes and long-distance dishes, they were shocked to see that many of the computers which were used to search the stars for any signs of life were all hacked, damaged or even booby-trapped, this was as they both suspected, the destruction of the nuclear weapons was only step one in their enemy's invasion plans. That part was as if this enemy wanted to make their prey toothless, clawless, and unable to defend itself, and with the tampering of these computers, this enemy was also trying to make his prey blind.
They discovered several strange devices attached to the computer servers, and they had to sneak in the middle of the night since they didn't want the enemy to be aware of their actions, all this proved to be futile, the enemy knew far too well that someone was snooping around and trying to figure out his plans, and he prepared for this. Three scientists showed up and it was almost like they came out of the shadows, like they had been molded into the walls.
"You two have no reason to do any of this, this is not even your world, there is no stopping what will occur, so why even try? To try to fight back against overwhelming odds, to fail, fall and die trying? It makes no sense for you two to even be willing to go this far for a world that either of you had not lived in for a little more than a decade, so why?"
Naruto told the person who had spoken, it doesn't even matter what they tried to do, he could tell they were trying to probe his mind for any information, except this is not going to work, "My mind or the mind of my friend here is not a friendly place for anyone to visit, you might regret ever entering a place you can never leave, as a relative of ours once told us, an organized mind can be a deadly weapon."
By then three more men who appeared to be security guards appeared behind the initial five and looked like indeed they were not happy about this, and since their ruse was not working they decided to stop pretending to be humans, all eight looked like humans shaped blobs of a black and light substance, they may have once looked humans but the minute they attack them, they reminded both Naruto and Sasuke of how a slime monster would attack, as they were getting closer, Red Hood chambered his ammo into his side arms, and Naruto held his two swords, ready to fight these creatures.
The only thing was, the fight never happened, in the middle of the battle someone had tossed a ultraviolet flash grenade, and without much of anything being said both Red Hood and Red X were pulled away from the battle, this however caused both Naruto and Sasuke to realize that these aliens hate light, they seem to recoil after the flash grenade went off near them. "It seems both of you have been busy, good, I guess you both figured the same as I did, something is preparing our world for invasion, what were you two thinking, fighting against aliens who you know next to nothing about? I think those things were going to kill you both or worse had I not arrived when I did to save you."
Naruto heard the concern in this man's voice and as his vision returned to back to normal he realized that it had been Bruce, in his Batman armor, it was nice to see that he also cared about his siblings, even if two of them were adopted. "Look we've both been fighting against thugs for some time, we even worked together a few times, so it's not like we were unprepared to fight them, we just needed to find their weakness, and thanks to you, we did. It's light, so switching to ultraviolet weaponry and ammo is the best course of action. The thing I want to know is have you found the location of the thing or person who is causing all of us all these nightmares? cause I am not happy about this, not one bit. Considering how little time we get to sleep as it is."
Batman smiled in a way that pretty much told both of them, he knew exactly where they needed to go, and that is exactly where they were headed, much to the shock Sasuke the place was supposed to be an abandoned army base, but he knew better than to take things at face value, he could still remember the lesson by Kakashi, to always look beneath the underneath, to be ready for other to try and deceive or trick them for deception was a ninja's best friend."
