Her parents have discovered her secret. Now she must face the consequences of her actions…an angry father.

Ch 16: Within His Coils

[Heart POV]

I knew Alastor was mad. No, he was pissed. I also agreed with him so I wasn't incredibly happy with how this all was turning out. No one messed with our family, especially our little girl. If the snake demon has done something to her, then he would face our wrath. I just kept wondering though, why was Elena with him? Why was she skipping school just to see him? It didn't settle right; I was just lost in so many questions I didn't have the answers to.

Was it something we did? Maybe it was something we said? It didn't all add up or click. Plus, the girl never knew about Sir Pent, so how did he come in contact with her? If I know the snake it's all part of a plan and I didn't like the sound of any of it. I couldn't let my anger get hold of me though. I can't use my demonic form no matter how much I want to. I need to make sure that Elena doesn't get hurt nor me because of the baby. I was hoping this wouldn't turn into a bigger mess than it needed.

"What are we going to do Al?" I asked as he got out of the car.

"Not We. Me. You are staying here." The deer demon told me sternly as he closed the door.

My eyes went wide as my ears stood up, "What!? Why!? I have every right to go with you."

He leaned into the car through the window as he gave me a stern look. "Because you're with child. I am not risking the safety of you or the new fawn." He said with slight anger. "You are staying here."

"No." I said sternly and got out of the car. "This is dealing with Elena. She is my daughter as well, Alastor. Let me go with you. Please. If it starts to become too much I can get away or at least get Elena to safety while you deal with Sir Pent." I told him.

The Radio Demon sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. I could tell he was annoyed and knew there was no point in trying to win this battle. "I know I can't argue with you and you're stubborn when your mind is set. So fine, you can come. Any sign of danger though and you run the other way."

"Don't worry Al. I promise." I say as my tail wagged, going to stand next to him.

"Now to find a way in." Alastor said as he looked at the blimp.

I coughed to gain his attention, "I might have a solution."

He turned to me and all I did was grin as I flapped my wings behind me. "Brilliant dear! I won't be too heavy for you will I?"

"Not at all. I'll be fine." I said and started to move my wings and hover above him.

"I'll take your word for it dear. Let's go then." Alastor said and reached up to me.

I took his hands in mine and started to fly up with no problem.

"We're coming Elena. Don't worry. Whatever is going on in there…we are putting a stop to it." I thought as we went up.

I managed to get us to a small hatch at the bottom of the blimp. Alastor used his shadows to help push the hatch open and I flew us up and into the blimp. It smelled weird and was dark and creepy with sounds of steam escaping pipes and gears moving.

"It's creepy in here." I whispered as the shadow closed the hatch again.

"It's strange to me. Although it seems fitting for someone as strange as him." Alastor whispered back.

I could smell something else in the air though. I tried to sniff for a moment and that is when I caught it. "Elena has been here." I told him.

His ears stood up straight as his eyes went wide for a moment, "You caught her scent?"

I nodded, "Yep."

"Well, no time to lose then. Lead the way, m'lady." Alastor tells me as I start to follow the scent down the hallway.

[Third Person POV]

Elena got into the blimp today and something just seemed off. The snake demon was usually there to greet her when she arrived but only a few egg boys were there.

"Hey guys. Where is Sir Pent?" Elena asked as she got settled.

"Mr. Boss Man is busy." One egg boy said.

"But he wishes to see you." The second added.

"He is doing something biggggggg." The third stretched his arms up and out wide, slapping another in the face.

The first one shook his head. "Follow us. He wants to see you in the lab." He turned around and headed towards the back of the blimp.

Elena's head tilted a moment as her ears went to the side. She didn't think anything of it though. If the demon were busy then she wouldn't ask anything of it. So, she followed the egg boys till they got to the lab. When she arrived, she noticed something in the back, it looked like some kind of weird round chamber. The snake demon has forbidden her from coming back into the lab for a few weeks, but it seems like now he has finished whatever he was doing.

When she saw Sir. Pentious, she was happy to see him. He was welding something on top of the chamber, his goggles covering his face. As soon as he was done, he put up his goggles and looked up. "Ah Elena! Wonderful to see you dear."

"Hey Pent." The girl greeted him back with a wag of her tail. "That is something really impressive you made. Is that why you didn't allow me back here for the last few weeks?" She asked him curiously as she looked at it.

The snake demon was a little annoyed with how obvious the girl was but let it slide for now. "Why yes dear! I was making a surprise, just for you. I didn't want to spoil it so I had to keep you out of the lab while I built it." He answered with a devilish smile on his face.

"Oh wow, a surprise for me?" Her eyes went wide at that.

"That's correct." He waved his hand around for effect then put them back behind his back. "I've noticed you've gotten a little bit better at controlling your magic and bringing it forward. I know you're not fully there yet but I made something that will help you." Sir Pent told her.

"How does it work?" She wanders as she looks at him then back to the machine.

"Well, we are going to test it out. So, you'll get in the chamber and then I'll start the machine. You'll feel a little pain but it's all part of the process to enhance your powers." He explained.

"Enhance? Does that mean…bring forward?" The girl tried to understand.

"Yes for the most part. It will make your powers start to show more." The snake says a little annoyed. "So how about we try it out?"

"Hmm, I don't know. What if it hurts me instead? Then that wouldn't be good." Elena hummed as she looked up and down at the machine. "Don't you think you should test it first?"

"I did test it." Sir Pent said as he started to sound a little annoyed and impatient. "That is why it took me so long to finish it. Doing some tests. Now its fully able to do what it's intended to do."

"Oh, I see! You wanted to make sure it was safe before using it on me. That is sweet of you Pent." The girl said happily as she wagged her tail. "I don't know how I can thank you enough for doing this for me. It means a lot. I'll finally be able to show my dad that I can take care of myself." She huffed.

"I agree. You'll be finally able to show the Radio Demon who the boss is." The man chuckled.

Elena giggled and shook her head, "Well I don't know about that far but I definitely want to prove to him something about me. That I'm not weak."

"Perfect. Let's get started." He says as he walks the girl over to the machine. Although it seemed that they wouldn't make it to the invention just yet as they heard running from a hallway as well as some egg boys screaming. "What in blazes is that racket!?" Sir Pent screamed as he turned around.

Just as he heard that, he saw an egg boy get thrown out of the hallway and across the room and be smashed on the other side of the wall. Elena's ears went down from that, she knew exactly what was going on. She was crossing her fingers it wasn't her parents that found her but when she looked over and saw her very angry father, as he was mid transformed into his demon form, she knew that her sneaking around was over. They finally found out and found her. The girl was now in deep shit and she knew it.

"Ah we meet again Alastor." The snake demon said as he curled his tail around the girl and held her behind him. "For what do I owe the pleasure of you trespassing in my blimp?"

"You know why I'm here, Pentious." Alastor growled as his eyes flickered.

"Oh, so now you know me." The snake demon laughed. "It's so nice to finally be acknowledged. Don't you agree my dear?" He asked as he looked back at the girl who still had her ears down and was looking down and away from them.

"You let my daughter go, now." Alastor demanded as he stepped forward.

Heart eventually appeared from the doorway, making sure it was clear before appearing since Alastor was in a bad mood and he needed to make sure his pregnant wife was safe and out of harm's way. She looked around the lab a moment before laying her eyes on the snake demon as his tail was curled around Elena. She gasped and covered her mouth for a moment as her ears went down.

"Elena, are you ok? Please speak to me, baby." She said with worry as she went up next to Alastor.

The deer demon put his arm out in front of the woman to stop her from going any further. "Stay back…we don't know what might happen." He said as he glared at the snake.

Heart's chest felt constricted as she looked at Elena. "Please Pent, let her go."

"Why of course." He said so cooperatively and uncoiled his tail. "Go ahead dear, do you want to go to your parents?"

Elena stood there; her eyes still cast to the ground. She was holding onto her arm in a shy manner as she was free to get away from the snake demon but she stood still.

"Elena, come to mommy. Please?" Heart smiled as she held out her arms but Elena didn't move.

"My fawn, please, come back home with us. Whatever it is you're going to this vile snake for I'm sure we can help you." Alastor added as he calmed a little.

Again, Elena didn't move. There were a few moments of silence and no one said a word. Both parents felt downhearted, but Sir Pentious laughed. "Well, it seems the girl made her choice at what she wants."

Heart grabbed onto Alastor's jacket but she felt the tears form in her eyes as she cried softly. Alastor wasn't convinced at all though. "You will not speak for her! Let the girl tell us herself!" He shouted.

Elena flinched for a moment from her father's shout. Sir Pent huffed and moved back a little, still curling himself around the girl from behind. "Fine then. Go ahead Elena, tell them."

The girl got nervous for a moment and finally looked up, trying to face her angered father. "P-Pent has been helping me." She began softly. "He offered to…help me with my magic. He said he was a friend of Daddy's…so I believed him."

"Friends with this vile snake. I think not!" Alastor shot back in anger when hearing that. "He tricked you!"

"Al, let her finish." Heart tried to calm him.

Elena's ears were so flat against her head that she was scared now. Eventually she continued. "I wanted…to show you both that I could do magic. That I could protect myself and try not to have you worry about me so much. Especially in school. I wanted to fight off my bullies on top of that. Show them I couldn't be pushed around." She explained. "I…I just wanted to show you I could stand up for myself. That and-" She paused and looked away a moment as she brought her tail to the front of her and she played with it. "-I wanted to live up to dad's name. Everyone always expects me to..so I wanted to try. I know you always tell me I shouldn't and to be myself but…I was determined to still try."

"Elena." Her mom said as she looked at her daughter sadly. She didn't know that kids at school were affecting her so badly. "I understand…As a demon with no powers like your fathers I know what you're going through…but you also have to realize there are other ways to go about it then….this." She said as she gestured around them.

"Yes, like trusting the good for nothing snake behind you!" Alastor added as he was still angry…more so at Sir. Pentious to trick his daughter. She was only seven!

At that Elena got slightly heated. Her sadness turned into a small fit of rage. "At least he helped me! He's been helping me! Unlike you!"

The two parents were surprised by their daughter's shout. Alastor looked at Heart then back at Elena. "I wouldn't help because you're not ready. I was waiting till you at least turned ten before trying to dig into your powers." Alastor told her as he slanted his eyes.

"And be bullied for the next three years of school? I don't think so. I took the opportunity." Elena snapped back.

"Skipping school is no way to do it or manage it." Heart added in calmly. "Your friend Sam misses you. I see her walk out of school alone with a sad look on her face. Plus, you are failing your classes Elena and missing school….at this point you'll have to retake first grade, but that is my guess."

The realization of that hit the girl harder than she thought. It never even sparked in her mind that what she would be doing there would be consequences when it came to school. The thought of retaking first grade…leaving her friend behind as she got held back. What was she to do then? Her bullies would then be a grade ahead of her. What could she do? She looked down and away from them. A small amount of tears started to prick her eyes.

"Ugh don't listen to them, Elena. They are just telling you that so that you can't get what you want. They just want to stop you when we are so close." Sir Pent tried to persuade and trick her.

Elena looked over her shoulder at him but then looked back at her parents. What was the right thing to do? What was the wrong thing to do? She was still so young…she had a lot to learn in her hell life. It took a long time to learn…but this was hard. She knew she'd have many hurdles in life…she was still young and she would get through all of them.

"Come home Elena." Heart said softly and almost like in a plea.

"If you want to learn your magic this bad to go to this length…I'll teach you a little bit in the summer when school is over." Her dad added on. He didn't want to see his girl in this situation anymore. If she wanted help…then so be it.

With all this going on, she was stuck. At the same time, her parents made good points. Then her dad finally offered to help her, but only because she showed him how stubborn she was about it. To go as far as to go into the hands of one of her father's enemies, instead of being patient and waiting. She had made a mistake. As much as she appreciated Pent's help…she knew her dad would help her. She did have his magic flowing through her, so he would know how to unlock that power better than anyone.

Elena sighed and turned to Sir. Pentious, "Pent, thank you for helping me through this…but they're right. I am grateful for all you did for me but I think it's time for me to go to my father to help me with my magic." She smiled at him.

The snake demon was speechless…she was going back to them!? She wasn't going to come to him anymore. After all the annoying things he had to put up with the entire time the girl was in his possession. That made his blood boil and he hissed in annoyance.

The girl turned her back on the demon and walked towards her parents. They stood there smiling. Proud of their daughter for making the right choice. Sir, Pentious on the other hand, was furious. He was so close! No! He wouldn't allow all his work to go to waste!

The snake demon hissed and then snapped his tail to grab the girl and pull her back to him. "No! I will not let this happen! Not when I was so close to my revenge!'

"Ah! Mom! Dad!" Elena screamed as she was pulled back to the snake and away from them.

"Elena!" Both her parents yelled, frozen for a moment in shock from what happened.

"I'll do what I must to get to you Alastor!" Pent said as he slithered over to the machine he made and threw the girl inside before closing it. The girl quickly stood up and pounded on the thick glass door that held her inside the weird pod. "I'll get your powers…but I'll strip them from her to do so!" The snake said and pulled a lever on the side of the pod and it started up with a loud noise and soon started to glow blue.

"No!" The radio demon was now angered.

"Elena!" Heart turned to Alastor in a frantic daze…she couldn't do anything…she felt so conflicted and lost on what to do. Her husband was the only one, "Al! Do something!"

"With pleasure!" He growled and the whole room started to fill with static. "Grab her…I'll deal with the snake." Heart nodded.

The radio demon turned into his full demon form and sank into the shadow's. He appeared beside Sir Pent and knocked him away from the controls. Rolling around with him a bit before using his magic to hold the snake down. Alastor was a man of violence and usually he never wanted to do more than what was necessary, but in this case, his anger blinded him from that. You don't fuck with a father and his family. With his tentacles holding the snake demon, he started to punch the serpent in the face, knocking his hat away.

Pentious used his tail to get the deer off him and threw him to the other side of the wall. One of his egg boys gave him a laser gun and started to shoot at Alastor. He had no time to react as he was hit in the shoulder but that only angered the demon more as he growled, static filled the room, and it got dark. Pentious couldn't see as Alastor sunk into Shadow again and soon had tentacles grab the snake and made sure to hold his tail this time. His shadow friends helped him as they started to torture the poor soul, making him start seeing hallucinations. He started to thrash about and Alastor let him go as he started attacking his egg boys instead and ruining his lab.

While her husband took care of the snake, Heart went to Elena and was trying to get her out. "Mommy please! Help me!" The girl was crying now and just wanted her mom.

Heart's chest constricted at her daughter's words as they struck her to her core. "I'll get you out sweetie don't fret." She reassured the girl.

The woman tried to pull the lever back up but it was too hard to do so. Plus, she was too short compared to the giant snake demons reach for it. She tried to break the glass instead. First she tried to use her shoulder but after the first try, realized how bad that idea was. She tried to find something to break it. She found a wrench on a table nearby and then swung it into the glass. Nothing.

"Shit." Heart was almost in a panic; she didn't know what to do. Elena was still crying inside the pod and now Heart started to cry as well. "What do I do? What do I do?" She said a little panicked. She couldn't transform into any of her demon forms, it would hurt the baby if she did. She was stuck and lost on what to do.

Alastor was probably the only one that could help her now. Looking around for her husband, she saw him torturing Sir. Pentious. "Alastor!" She screamed as she sank to her knees.

That got the man's attention right away as his ears flicked and twisted a moment at the sound of his name. He turned to see his wife fall to her knees and start to cry. The deer demon's heart seems to drop at that moment. "You all take over." He ordered and let the shadows do what they wished and he quickly went over to his wife. "Darling, I'm here, tell me what you need?" He asked as he wrapped his arm around her for comfort.

"I can't get it open." The woman cried as she looked at the ground. "I can't even break the glass." She looked up at the demon with tears falling down her face, "Help me Al."

The deer looked at her then to the pod as the girl inside was also crying. He was taller than Heart so he could reach the lever, but just barely. He grabbed it and pulled it down, but it didn't seem to stop. "Shit." He said and summoned one of his tentacles. "Back up Elena!" He warned and the girl managed to scramble back at her dad's words. Backing up to the back side of the pod. The tentacle came forward and broke through the glass. It managed to grab the small girl then pulled her out to be put in her father's arms.

Elena clung to her father as he pulled her to safety. She cried finally being out of there. She just wanted to go home. "Daddy, I'm sorry. I'm sorry." She repeated as she cried.

"Shh, my light, you're ok now. I have you." Her father reassured her, petting the back of her head as he held her closely.

Heart got up and went to hug them both. Her crying didn't stop as she held them. "Let's get out of here. Please." She says and holds onto Alastor and her daughter in a tight grip.

He gives his wife their daughter who happily took her in her arms. The girl is now clinging to her mom as she cries. Heart kissed the top of the girl's head and rubbed one of her ears.

"Hold on." He says as he holds them both close. He turns into his shadow form and goes through the blimp to back where they came in at the hatch. Avoiding any egg boys that may have been in the halls. Once they were safe he turned normal as he put them down, "Will you be able to fly us down?" Alastor asked Heart.

She shook her head. "Not both of you."

"Then take Elena. I can get down myself." He told her.

"Are you sure?" Heart asked.

"Yes, go." The deer quickly said and opened the hatch to see the city below them. Luckily, they hadn't moved and were still in the same place. He could still see the car not far away. "There is the car. Get to it and I'll be right behind you."

Heart nodded as she held onto Elena and jumped. Holding the girl tightly she let out her wings and slowly glided back down to where the car was parked. Alastor made sure to release a few more of his shadow minions to destroy the blimp before he jumped down. He wanted to show the snake demon to not mess with him or his family again. He turned into his shadow on the way down and hit the ground like it was nothing, before going over and appearing beside Heart.

"Quickly. Let's get out of here." He ran to the car and held the door open for her.

Heart nodded and got in the car, still holding Elena who had not stopped crying. Alastor soon got into the driver's seat and started the car. He drove off and headed away from the blimp. As they were far enough away, there was an explosion from the blimp and it started to fall down. Alastor looked in the mirror of the car as this happened and a big smile never left his face as he chuckled low in his throat.

"That is the last time that snake decides he can mess with my family." He growled low.

Heart reached over and put her hand on his lap. Not only to comfort him but her as well. She was just glad to be safe and out of there. "I just want to get out of here." She told him.

"Agreed my love, don't worry. I'll take us somewhere." Alastor told her and headed to where he thought was the best and safest place right now.

This chapter may be a little short but it will continue in the next chapter. Elena has a lot of learning to do from all this.
