A/N: Thank you so much to everyone who is giving this story a chance. I really appreciate the reviews, follows, and favorites. I am really trying not to rush this story so thank you for being patient with me.

I quickly fly out of the booth and make a quick run for the door. I barrel out the door and stop in my tracks.

I take in my surroundings to find nothing. An empty parking lot, no girl with mocha eyes or raven hair. I whip my head around quickly searching but can't see anything else. I let out a sigh finally feeling like I am breathing again. I could have sworn that was her. I feel crazy and the tingling on my wrist has stopped. I feel like crying was that my only opportunity to talk to her or meet her again.

I walk slowly back in the restaurant and to my seat in defeat.

"Well, was it her?" Sugar is bouncing in her seat all excited for my response.

"I don't know, I didn't get to reach her... but I really think it was. I don't know how I know I just have a feeling that it was her."

Sugar is beaming.

"What?" I question because I told her that I didn't reach her in time.

"Well, if she came for delivery here, she knows about Breadstix that means..." She waits for me to catch up and catch on to what she is talking about. I raise my eyebrow then hear choking and I turn to look at Mike to see he still has food in his mouth.

He bangs on the table "She is from here!" He barely gets out with a mouth still full of spaghetti.

I hear Sugar squeal next to me and clap. I take it all in. She could be living in the same town as me. I finish the rest of my salad in silence as my heart beats erratically.

Next day

"Get in there and you better win!" Coach yelled at us as we exited the bus. Coach doesn't even look at us as she heads off to who knows where.

"Aren't coaches supposed to stay with their team?" Sugar leans over and whispers in my ear just in case Coach can hear with her supersonic hearing. "I mean look at all the other teams."

Feeling the tingle on my wrist again I touch it lightly and look around. Sugar notices and starts bouncing on the balls of her feet.

"She's here, isn't she?" Sugar whips her head around searching. "This is so exciting. I wonder if she is a cheerleader or a fan."

"I don't know if she is here, but I do have the tingle again and last night's dream was super strong." I start looking just like Sugar.

"Peirce, Motta, get with the other girls we don't have time for you two to daydream about rainbows and butterflies we have a competition here. Let's go now!" Stacy, our senior captain, shouts at us pulling us out of our search.

We find the rest of the squad and start our stretches. While stretching out my leg I look up in the stands. I catch movement and see that it is Mike. He is waving sporadically and almost looking like he is pointing towards someone. I wave at him and smile. He must be really excited about my competition.

"Next up the Cheerios!" The announcer announces.

"You sorry sack of potatoes better win this. I will not be known as a loser!" Coach appears out of nowhere to give us our wonderful pep talk.

The music starts and I get lost in the routine. Before I know it, we are heading away from the mat. Coach as left us on our own, again, and my wrist has become very distracting. I am not paying attention where I am walking or if I am even following my team. All of a sudden, I trip over my own feet and brace myself for impact. I close my eyes and tilt my shoulder so that it will be what hits the ground first. Before I hit the ground, I feel arms wrap around me helping me stand up. My wrist is tingling stronger when I open my eyes.

"Are you okay?" A raspy voice asks.

I open my eyes and my breath hitches. It is like time has stood still. It is her. I try to take in everything about her all at once, but it is like I cannot get enough. Mocha eyes are staring at me, she is so beautiful with her deep eyes and tan skin. She is shorter than me but somehow has very long legs. She looks concerned her eyebrows are knit and when she releases me, I barely catch her hand movement to her left wrist. I squint at it as I see that it is wrapped in gauze. Maybe she hurt her wrist.

I am struggling to come up with words because of how overwhelmed I am, but I finally choke out. "I'm okay thank you. I am pretty clumsy."

She shrugs. "I saw you trip, and I didn't want you to get hurt even though you are like our biggest competitors." She smirked and made a point of looking at my uniform and then gesturing to her uniform. I notice she is one of the Crawford Academy girls. They are a Lima private school. "My name is Santana." She reaches out her hand to shake.

I feel like this is all too much and my heart has stopped. I know the name of mysterious S. I almost feel like squealing, but I keep my cool and reach out my hand to shake hers. "Brittany and you know you look a little small to be able to catch me." I tried to hint to when we were younger, and she tried to catch me on the monkey bars.

I don't think she has figured it out yet though because she retracts her hand pretty quickly and almost goes to reach her left wrist again and gives me a curious look. "I may be small but, I am strong."

My smile is full blown now. "It's you." I flip my wrist to show her my mark, but I do not expect her reaction at all. I am not really sure how I expected this to go, maybe hug each other or go somewhere private to talk. What I don't expect is the reaction she gives me. It is almost like she loses all her blood, and her face turns very pale.

"No, no you must have confused me with someone else." I try to reach for her wrist, but she pulls it back and hugs it to her chest.

"Let me just see your wrist then, because I bet there is a mark just like mine on your left wrist." I don't really need to see it because the wrap has loosened a little and I can see the peaking of the music note that I am super familiar with. I am so confused why she is acting like this.

"My wrist was hurt today that is why it is wrapped, but I really don't know who you are. I just met you. I really think you have me confused for someone else. Look," she says flustered, "my teammates would already be pissed at me for talking and helping you. I have to go."

She quickly turners on her heels and disappears in the crowd leaving me with so many questions. Was that her? I start to doubt myself but quickly shake my head. No, that was definitely her. Why did she seem scared of me and not want to talk? I want to chase after her, but I don't think it would help because she is probably hiding from me with her squad.

I am still standing there looking lost when Sugar and Mike find me.

"Hey, your girl is here!" Mike says. "I saw her when I was in the stands, that is who I was pointing to."

I look up at Mike, he looks so proud until he really takes in my face. I must look as devastated as I feel because he wraps me in his strong arms. I bury my face in his chest. I don't even know how to feel right now. Defeated, angry, devastated, gullible to believe she would act one way when she clearly didn't. These are just a few emotions flowing through me. How could I have been so stupid, I have waited for her, not gone on dates with people when they have liked me and I have been so devoted to her, I haven't even had a first kiss, to find out she doesn't want anything to do with me. Better yet it seemed like she was embarrassed, with how she hid her mark.

I feel a hand rub my back. "Britt what happened."

I turn my head to look at Sugar with red eyes that only enhance the blue of my eyes. "I met her Sugar."

"Well..."

"I told her that I knew it was her and she said I have the wrong person."

"Well, was she the wrong person?"

"No, I know it is her she was hiding her mark."

"Did you get anything else out about her? Maybe she has an explanation, or it is a big misunderstanding. Was she mean to you?" The last question seemed to ruffle Sugar's feathers.

"No, she wasn't mean, she actually saved me from a major tripping embarrassment. She went to that private school in town, Crawford Academy."

A huge Smile spread across Sugar's face. I raise an eyebrow, but I can tell she is waiting. With a huff I ask "What?"

"Well, you know how I know some of the Dalton boys?" I nod my head. "Okay, well they are like sister and brother schools. They party and hang out together all the time. Well, this guy named Chad," she wiggles her eyebrows, "total hottie, is having a party tonight. I am thinking they will prolly all be partying there today since it is known that the Crawford chicks get down with Dalton boys." Sugar claps her hands together.

"Okay?"

"Common Brittany keep up! Let's go to the party if your girl is a partier, she will be there then you can corner her and demand answers! Also, I get to scope new boys it is a win win win." She then looks over to Mike. "There will also be booze and dancing!" She nudges him.

Mike shrugs. "I am down."

"Fine." I say a little worn out from all the emotions I could use a good party and a lot of answers.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

We are standing at the foot of the driveway, and I am rethinking everything. I am wearing a tight black v neck shirt with a nice dip and shorts that show off my mile legs with vans. I feel too underdressed. I look over at Sugar who is wearing a shiny shirt and skinny jeans.

"You look good, stop stressing we are ready to rock this party!" Sugar says.

Mike puts his hand on my lower back and leads me to the house as Sugar skips to the front door. I would normally be skipping with her holding her hand, but I am way too nervous. What if she is in here? What if she refuses to talk to me?

We enter the house, and it is chaotic with all the people around. There are people dancing with each other, it looks like there are people playing beer pong and it also looks like a group is doing flippy cups and keg stands. The music is pumping, and I feel like it helps me relax. Music has always been my outlet.

"Drink time!" Sugar yells as we follow her to the kitchen. Before we reach it, Sugar gets stopped by a guy and waves Mike and I to keep heading to the kitchen where the alcohol is being served. As we pass Sugar I hear the name Chad, so that must be the guy Sugar knows. I'm not worried about leaving her. We will meet up again later. Sugar is a social butterfly at parties and jumps from group to group, so Mike and I are used to this.

Mike and I make it to the kitchen and it is a little crowded but not too bad.

"What do you want?" Mike leans over and whispers in my ear.

"Anything is good." Mike nods and walks around the island to the fridge leaving me alone.

"Hey, what is your name? I haven't seen you around before." A deep voice asks.

I turn to look at the guy. He is good looking with a muscular build, tall, shaggy blond hair, green eyes and gigantic lip. He looks like he could be a football player since he is wearing a letterman jacket from Dalton.

"Hi, my name is Brittany. I go to McKinley High."

"Oh, that might be why I have never seen you before. My name is Sam." He smiles with his enormous mouth. "Sam I am." He laughs at his own joke. I just raise an eyebrow because really? "Well, I just wanted to welcome you and if you need anything let me know this is basically my second house since Chad is my best friend." Is this guy hitting on me, because if he is, his game is weak, or is he just that friendly.

"Okay, thanks I will keep that in mind." I try brushing him off as my wrist starts to tingle making me alert.

"Hey Sam, the fuck I was just talking to Quinn for like one minute and the next you are gone. Seriously if you are trying to talk up another girl again, I will ends you!" Just behind Sam, I can see her and my heart stops as she slides up right beside Sam.

"Sorry babe." He gives her a kiss on the cheek. "I saw this crew come in and I figured a friendly introduction would be necessary." Sam then puts his arm around Santana's waist, and I feel my blood boil.

Santana looks beautiful in a skintight black dress and heels. She also is supporting a red solo cup and a wide eye stare as if caught off guard.

"Ugh yeah. Hi again, was it Brittany? "Ouch that hurts.

"Yeah, it is Brittany, and I was hoping to run into you Santana we need to talk." I take this opportunity to look at her wrist which is covered up again, but this time by a thick leather bracelet that hides her mark.

"Oh, you know each other?" Sam questions.

"Yeah, I met her today at our cheer competition." Santana says as she leans into Sam. I fight to roll my eyes.

"Yeah, and I really need to talk to you Santana please." I give her pleading eyes and I see her hesitate.

"Sure, hun go talk if you need to, I am going to go find Chad, he owes me a game of beer pong." Sam turns and leaves, leaving me and Santana by ourselves.

I watch as Santana downs the rest of her drink and nods her head "Yeah sure. We can talk I guess."
