Lucy was listening to the soundtrack of Mulan and singing along: "Who is the girl I see a steering out straight back at me why is my reflection someone I don't know."
She looked at the eyeshadow she was about to put on and read the names out loud: "Confident, bold, and optimistic." She was optimistic, but she wanted the other words to be like a spell and that by reading them out loud she would automatically feel the way they stated.
She then switched songs to A Girl Worth Fighting For, but Lucy sang her own lyrics: "I know that I am a girl worth fighting for. Never forget I am a girl worth fighting for." She was nervous but she was ready.
A little while later she was sitting in Brittany's room
Fondue for two, fondue for two, some hot dish, fondue for two. Fondue for two.
Brittany said: "Hi welcome to my Internet show! My guest today was supposed to be my best friend Santana but she's not here, so filling in for her is my friend Lucy Fabray. Lucy thanks for filling it what brings you here today?"
Lucy replied: "I am here because I wanted to ask you something Brittany?"
Brittany said "I can tell you're nervous but go ahead ask me anyway. We're only on the Internet, what's the worst that could happen? I happen to know you can't die of embarrassment, no matter what you do."
Lucy responded: "I know you want to go to prom by yourself, work on yourself, and dance with everybody's dates. I think it's great you want to work on yourself, but I need to work on myself too. Since I can't be the prettiest girl at the prom, I'd like to go with the prettiest girl at the prom."
Brittany said: "So do most of us, but she's going with," then "Brittany thought and said, "sorry go ahead, finish what you were saying."
Lucy asked: "Brittany will you go to the prom with me? We can go as friends, that way you can still dance with everybody else's dates. We will take separate cars there so if you want to go home with someone else you can."
Brittany answered: "Yes I will go to the prom with you. I also want to say that I really appreciate you having the guts come on my show and ask me out."
