Chapter 5
Shirou Emiya, The Blue, operative number 18, the Moon of the Imperial Court Mage Corps Special Missions Annex, also known as, The Mage Killer. Of all the mages in the special missions annex, only one was his equal in this regard, his brother, Glenn Radars, The Fool.
Of all the mages skilled in anti-mage combat, the two of them were the best. The two cared nothing for honor, only caring about winning and completing the mission. However, the two vanished, along with Sara Silvers, The Empress, and Luviagelita Edelfelt, The Sun.
Reasons for leaving vary according to different sources. Though, each source cite one instance as being the key catalyst in their decision. The injury of Sara Silvers and the blatant disregard for civilian casualties on the mission being undertaken, as well as, the order to leave Sara Silvers and Glenn Radars on their own in order to draw out the culprit.
Shirou Emiya, being a brother figure to Sara Silvers and Glenn Radars, disobeyed orders and subsequently saved them just before a fatal blow was about to be landed. The normally calm and collected Shirou went on a rampage, which resulted in the destruction of a large portion of land.
It was said, his signature blue magic could be seen for miles when he began to blow apart the addicts who had devolved into mindless drones. He had successfully captured the culprit responsible and saved two comrades, however, his trust in the unit was broken. Sara Silvers's injury caused her to lose the function in her legs.
Glenn Radars, likewise suffered many injuries, however, his injuries were healed after a proper amount of rest. Luviagelita Edelfelt was on a separate mission at the time, as such, there was no one to stop Shirou from the actions carried out that day.
Three members of the Researchers of Divine Wisdom were found among the casualties. Further investigation claims that Shirou Emiya had the ability to capture them alive, however, they were killed in an attempt to spite his commanding officer. Though, according to the memory of Sara Silvers, he killed them after a bizarre claim.
The following information is classified, if you are reading this, then you have been cleared to read the following. The Researchers made claims of searching for, and laying claim to, the Akashic Records. Shirou Emiya responded by piercing them with swords and blue magic bullets.
The following words were heard by Sara Silvers, however, she was on the verge of death and in and out of consciousness. "I won't allow you fools to ... the Root, even if ... hunt all of you down myself. I may not be a ... Guardian, but to protect humanity, I'll do what I must."
No one knows what this 'Root' is, but it is thought to be tied to the reason for Shirou Emiya and Luviagelita Edelfelt's strange magic casting. The popular consensus, is that the two operatives were the subject of experiments with the Akashic Records and this so called, 'Root', when they were younger.
Further investigation was forbidden and the two operatives were classified as a national secret by her Majesty. Her Majesty then declared the four operatives retired from the Special Missions Annex after their disappearance. It is believed that Her Majesty knows their location and is protecting them, but this has yet to be confirmed.
Should any operative encounter these four, they are to report back to the commanding officer of the Special Missions Annex, Eve Ignite. Only specially designated operatives are to engage them. Thus, ends the latest report on The Moon, The Sun, The Fool, and The Empress.
Addendum: Shirou Emiya and Luviagelita were reported to have taken part in the incident in the Alzano Imperial Magic Academy, saving the lives of a class of students that they had been in charge of teaching. Shirou Emiya has been using the alias, Shirou Aozaki. Further investigation required.
"Is this really the best way to learn about magic dueling, Professor?" asked Sistine, as she was trying to catch her breath. She had assumed she would be learning attack spells or maybe even some of his own personal spells, not martial arts training.
"Of course, believe it or not, learning the basics of combat will assist you greatly when it comes to battling with magic. It'll sharpen your senses, especially when it comes to striking and counter attacks. As you hone those senses, you'll begin to notice small things that will give you an even bigger edge." He replied to her.
"Besides, most mages are pretty weak when you take away their magic. It's always good to have a fall back option. In my case, I augment my martial arts with magic as well. Which reminds me, sometime soon, I'll take you to visit a good friend of mine. She's a good example of what I'm talking about." He finished with a small smile.
"I suppose, that makes sense." Sistine said as she managed to catch her breath. "You know, Professor, you never really mentioned your friends until recently. Are they all powerful mages like you and Lady Luvia?" She was genuinely interested in what he had to say. So far, they had yet to find out much about their professor.
Shirou simply let out a small hum, before shrugging. "Sort of, in their own way. Though, Sara is probably the only one I'd say is a proper powerful mage. The rest of us are more specialized, besides maybe Luvia. The friend I was talking about actually uses a sword. She's the reason I came up with sword magic in the first place."
"Oh really? She sounds like she'd be an amazing person." She replied, though anything she imagined was cut off by a snort by the professor.
"She's certainly something. Rosalie is definitely a hard worker and has managed to get pretty far with what she has, but she has a hard time molding mana into magical energy. But, despite that, she's a formidable mage with what she's good at. She's probably a bit better than me when it comes to pure swordsmanship." He said offhandedly.
Though, that caused Sistine's eyes to widen. She rarely heard him ever give out praise like that. Even when facing that mage with the swords, he just made light of the whole situation. She actually wanted to meet this, Rosalie.
"Alright, rest time is up. I want to see you go through a few more sets before we finish for the day. We won't be doing as much today, since tomorrow is when Alicia will be showing up. I don't want you to be exhausted." He said, tuning the training golem a bit more.
"You know, I probably should have asked sooner, but what style is this exactly?" She asked him, settling into the stance he taught her.
"Well, I'm glad you asked." He said with a smile. "I call it the Aozaki style. Though, it isn't solely mine. My variant is more heavily based around kicks and contains some movements and forms from other styles. My aunt taught it to me, so I'm teaching it to you. After you get the hang of my style, I'll teach you the complete style."
"Why would you teach such an important thing to me?" She asked him, a bit embarrassed with the fact he was teaching her a family martial art. Shirou simply patted her on the head.
"Because, I can see a bit of myself in you. You have things you want to protect and want to be strong enough to do it. Besides, I think you have the potential to become a great mage, not to mention, you like magical archeology." He added on, before returning to the side.
"What does that have to do with anything?" She asked, a bit confused.
"I already told you, I studied that once too. Not to mention, I have a soft spot for people with big dreams." He said with a somewhat somber expression. He shook his head, "Now, no more stalling, let's begin." He said activating the golem.
'He's actually teaching her how to fight like that?' Glenn thought to himself, as both he and Sara watched them train. The two weren't planning on running into anyone yet, as they were simply walking around the academy at the moment. If anything, they had thought they would have ran into Celica first.
To end up seeing Shirou actually training someone was not something Glenn thought he'd be seeing, especially in that specific style. "She seems to be a rather quick learner, don't you think Glenn?" He heard Sara ask him, noticing her watching the girl's movements closely.
"She does seem to be getting the hand of it pretty quick. I'm surprised, since it looks a lot more refined than the last time I saw it." He said bringing a hand up to his chin, watching closely as Sistine deftly dodged and moved around the golem's attacks. "She sort of looks like you, doesn't she?" He said offhandedly.
He noticed Sara slightly flinch at his words, before her eyes narrowed and a small pout appeared on her face. "I think you're just imagining things, Glenn. After all, if what you said is true, then that would mean that Shirou simply traded me, his sister and best friend, away for a younger model, and he wouldn't do that. Right?"
'Well, I mean, technically you're those things, considering those marks on his arms, but still, you seem a bit too aggressive about it.' He thought, though he would never say those words. He didn't feel like getting blasted by wind today. "Of course, Sara, I was just mistaken, after all, I'm sure big sis Luvia would've warned you if that was the case."
He watched as her somewhat scary face finally returned to a normal happy smile, causing him to let out a sigh of relief. They then heard the young girl speak to Shirou, noticing that she had managed to defeat the golem by kicking its head into the ground. "Are some of those moves supposed to feel like a dance?"
"Of course. I integrated a few movements from a certain dance that makes it easier to move around when dodging. Maybe I'll do a lesson on the benefits of music and dancing when it comes to magic." He muttered the last part to himself, before shrugging. "Those movements also put you into natural positions for spellcasting."
Sistine tilted her head a bit, before deciding to try out what he said. He watched as she went through the movements and completing the forms perfectly, showcasing what he said. She had a shocked expression for a moment, before she grew excited. "Does this help with spellcasting in any way? Or does it just put you into position?"
"It can, but I'm not going to teach it to you just yet. I don't want you to accidentally blow yourself up or something." He replied while rubbing the back of his head. She looked at him with a disappointed expression, causing Shirou to see the face of Sara, "But, I suppose it won't hurt to show you what it looks like." He groaned.
He took off his jacket and button up, leaving him with only his sleeveless armor and scarf. He didn't feel like accidentally messing up his jacket, as he didn't feel like tracing another copy. 'I think Glenn's laziness is starting to affect me.' He thought, before taking his stance. "Trace on."
He took a deep breath, before he felt magical energy surge into his body through reinforcement, as well as through his magical crest. However, just as he was about to start, he caught a familiar scent. He turned his head and saw two people he hadn't seen in a year, give or take a few months.
"No way." He said aloud, causing Sistine to raise a brow, before following his line of sight. There she saw two people, both appeared to be around Shirou's age. One had black hair tied into a low ponytail with messy bangs in the front. He wore a white long sleeve button up shirt, though he had them rolled up like Shirou's.
He also wore a red tie, black pants, and white gloves, though the tie wasn't tightened and the top buttons weren't buttoned. All in all, he had a rather lazy appearance, though she noticed that his eyes were sharp like Shirou's. That was when she noticed the second person who sat in a wheelchair.
She was an incredibly beautiful woman with long silver hair, much like her own. She had distinct golden eyes that shined bright. That was when she noticed the red markings on her face, as well as the markings on her arms, which she recognized from Shirou's own. She was wearing a beautiful, long, green shaded dress with long green gloves that went to her elbow and a green feather in her hair.
Even at their current distance, Sistine was able to see the resemblance to herself, though she had much longer hair and was, much to her jealousy, a lot more endowed than she was. A bright and happy smile appeared on the woman's face as the two began to walk towards them.
"Hey, Shirou! We were passing by and noticed you training that girl, so we wanted to say hello." The woman said to him, waving with one hand. She looked towards Shirou and saw that he was still surprised. "I can see that our surprise was able to make you speechless. It's really good to see you after all this time." She continued.
The woman reached out and grabbed his hand causing him to snap out of his surprised state. "Sara, I had no idea that you and Glenn were going to visit. If I did, I could have planned something with Luvia and we could have had done something, maybe I could have cooked something for you." He replied with a happy smile on his face as he kneeled down.
Sistine was a bit surprised at the happy smile on his face, as he seemed much happier than usual. It was almost the same as when everyone was excited for the magic games. Though, she didn't miss the surprised expression Sara's face at his smile. 'Why is she surprised?' She thought to herself.
Sara shook her head, "That would have defeated the purpose, Shirou." She said lifting her hand and poking his forehead. "Besides, I'm sure you can cook something for us in the cafeteria." She had a bright smile on her face. Sistine was surprised at hearing about Shirou cooking.
"You can cook professor?" She asked, causing him to look back at her with a grin.
"Of course. Luvia needs someone to cook for her, otherwise she'd likely starve." He replied, causing the other man named Glenn to let out a laugh.
"Yeah, ain't that the truth. Last time I tried her food, I nearly died." He said with a shiver, causing Shirou to chuckle lightly. "So, how have you been, Shirou?" He asked as Shirou stood back up.
"Well, I've been doing pretty well actually. While I haven't had as much time to work on my projects and research, I can say that I find teaching to be rather enjoyable. Speaking of, this is Sistine Fibel, she's the top student in the class I'm teaching." He said placing a hand atop her head.
"It's nice to meet you, Sistine. It's nice to see that Shirou has such an excellent student." Sara said to her, causing Sistine's eyes to widen a bit and a bit of red to appear on her cheeks.
"Yep, likewise, white cat. You definitely have some talent, especially if you can learn that style so quickly." Glenn added, though this caused Sistine to look at him with narrowed eyes. Shirou's eyes slightly widened, before he tilted his head and looked at Sistine again.
"Huh, White Cat? I never noticed it before, but it certainly does suit you, Sistine. Maybe I should start calling you that." He said with a playful grin on her face. Sistine's face turned red, before she looked up at him.
"Don't you dare! I refuse to be called by such a weird nickname! By either of you!." Both Glenn and Shirou looked at each other.
"Whatever you say, White Cat." They said at the same time with playful grins on their faces, causing Sara to chuckle at the two brothers. Unknown to Sistine, who was currently pouting, Sara had a nostalgic smile on her face. To see the two of them acting like this brought by back fond memories.
She had secretly longed for those days to return. To be able to stand beside her new family and fight to make the world a better place. She wished to stay with Shirou, Luvia, Glenn, and even Celica. Those days when they were together were filled with happiness, despite all of the ugliness and killing.
Then that stupid operation ruined everything. Eve had managed to ruin everything within the span of a day. Sara wasn't the type to hold grudges or to hate people, but she would never forgive Eve for taking away those happy days. After that day, her family seperated.
She had Glenn and she was happy being with him in that small town, but she longed to fight with everyone again. Wheelchair or not, she was still operative number three, 'The Empress,' and she didn't need her legs to cast magic. She had patiently waited for this day.
Her patience had paid off, because here she was with Glenn and Shirou. With Luvia and Celica somewhere in the school, her wish was about to come true. All she had to do was inform everyone of her idea to move to Fejite and everything would be complete. Everyone would be together again.
'Maybe I can help out with training some of Shirou's class.' She thought to herself, 'Surely the knowledge of so many special missions annex members would turn Shirou's class into the top ranked in the academy.' She hummed happily at the thought.
The small group decided to head to the cafeteria, since Shirou told them he would cook for everyone. All it took was informing Luvia of what he was about to do, as well as the arrival of Glenn and Sara, and Luvia quickly stopped Rumia's training to eat his food.
Even Celica arrived when she caught word of their arrival. Unknown to Rumia and Sistine, but they were in the presence of five of the best mages in the Empire. Not to mention, they were also partaking in what was essentially, a family reunion.
Luvia was quite happy with her life right now. She was finally with everyone once again. It was quite a happy day for her, and she was pretty sure it was going to be a happy day for Sara as well. Shirou had been depressed after what happened to her, but he never stopped trying to find a way to help her.
She hadn't been there that day, but from what she had heard, she should have been. Shirou wasn't a cruel killer, nor was he someone who partook in the causing the suffering of others. However, whatever happened that day broke him. It took a full year for him to recover mentally, not using any offensive magecraft that whole time.
Apparently, Jatice Lowfan, 'The Justice', had played a role in whatever happened, and Shirou dealt with him with extreme prejudice. Even with Jatice's prediction magecraft and annoying tulpas, he wasn't a match for Shirou. Reports were scarce on their fight, but from what she had managed to get out of Shirou, it wasn't much of a fight.
It was more of a one sided beatdown with Shirou using a few of the tricks he was trying to hide. Tulpas were no match for Shirou's puppets and conceptual blades, nor was Jatice on the level of Shirou. He left some bits out, though Sara did tell him one thing that caused her to worry about him.
Apparently, Shirou had cut out Jatice's eyes, claiming that justice is blind and that he didn't deserve to look upon the beauty of the world any longer. Then he proceeded to blast off his arm with a kick filled with magical energy. Shirou and Sara said he was dead, since Shirou said he blasted him with multiple magic bullets.
Honestly, she was glad he was dead. The amount of suffering he put Shirou and their brother through was enough for her to wish she killed him. Though, some good did come from it. They weren't part of the special missions annex anymore and Shirou had advanced his research and magecraft.
Which led to Shirou's surprise for Sara. He had traveled to many ruins and gained a lot of knowledge that helped improve his puppets. Only Luvia was allowed into his workshop, and the last time she had seen it, she had seen some truly amazing things.
The most important thing, were a pair of puppet limbs for Sara. They were perfect, so much so that Luvia thought they were on par with his mother's. Of course, his other puppets were great, but he tended to create puppets based on animals or human ones that were more like antiques.
She was excited to see when Shirou would finally show off his creations, but she knew that those legs would be more than enough for now. She smiled as she looked at the group in the cafeteria. It was a perfect scene, with everyone enjoying themselves.
She, of course, knew that it wouldn't last forever. Both Shirou and her had a feeling that something big was going to happen the next day at the magic games. Not to mention, she knew that the Empire knew about their location, which meant SHE knew where Shirou was.
Luvia was no fool. She knew that Eve would come looking for him the first chance she got. She could only hope that she was too busy, or too confident, to actually come herself. Hopefully, their hunch would be wrong and everything would go smoothly.
She knew that Shirou was happy to be able to see the Queen again, since she reminded Shirou of Saber. It was one of the few reasons he still did things to protect the Empire. She let out a small sigh. 'Well, whatever happens, at least we have everyone here.'
'Whatever comes, they'll have to overcome the strongest family in the Empire, and I highly doubt there's anyone that could pull off a feat like that without bringing major firepower.' She then hummed happily to herself, deciding to leave tomorrow's worries for later, especially since Shirou just finished the food.
Multiple bodies fell to the ground, each were slashed and stabbed with a blade of peerless quality. A young girl with blue stood above their bodies, in her hands were two white and blue blades that had a spiral design running up the side of the blade. She looked down at the blades, before she let them dissipate back into the ground.
"It seems we'll have no rest. We were just given another mission. We're to head to Fejite, to the Alzano Imperial Magic Academy." The girl turned to her partner, before she shook her head.
"Don't want to. We're supposed to take a break after a mission and it's important we rest." She replied with a huff.
"Well, the one who told you that is going to be there. In fact, we were told to assess his condition while there." He told her, causing her to straighten and turn around with wide eyes.
"Shirou?" She asked simply, getting a nod in reply. "I see. We should leave now." She said, before trying to walk past him. However, he caught her by the ponytail. "Ow, why are you stopping me, Albert?"
"We have to identify and wait for the authorities to recover these targets, Re=L." He told her. She stopped, but her thoughts weren't on the mission anymore. They weren't even on the next mission. Her thoughts were occupied by one person, the one person who gave her life meaning. 'Shirou, we can be together again.' She thought with a happy smile, grabbing ahold of the orange gem on her necklace.
And that's another one down. Next chapter will be where things will be getting tense, along with plenty of battles for the next two or three chapters. These will include fights for Luvia, Shirou, Glenn, and Sara. Because of the presence of Shirou and Luvia, the enemies are going to be sending in more reinforcements in case their gambit fails. Then there's Albert and Re=L, plus Rumia and Sistine who may or may not be getting into some of the action. Then there's Eve Ignite, which will be fun when she shows up. I'll also be showing some fights and scenes from before Luvia and Shirou arrived in this new world. Specifically, the grail war and even scenes from the clocktower. This Shirou is different from FoZ Shirou, though they have the same starting point, mainly because of different actions and the servants they summoned. As you can tell, this Shirou uses more of Aoko's magecraft, while FoZ Shirou uses puppets and stuff like Touko. I wanted to create a sort split since their upbringings were different. This Shirou for example, adopted a lot more of Aoko's things. I'm excited to show more of that dichotomy in the coming chapters of both stories. Anyways, I hope you all enjoyed, thanks for reading and feel free to ask questions, I usually answer most questions. I hope you all have a great rest of the day, or if your reading somewhere else, a good morning, and as always, until next time friends.
