Guest- Jaina took after her mother, while Jaden took after their father. Plus, I always use face claims for my characters with already existing characters in other shows. Thanks for the review.

Astlexis- Thank you for the reviews. And, yes, Yoko has a connection to the past life with them. I can only hope that Zeke and Aster storyline works, but the majority of the storyline for them is more in season 2. Until then, just sibling tension.

Luiz4200- Thank you for the review. Hopefully you like Jaina and Jaden's interaction.

Jaina Yuki looks like Serena from Pokémon.

Ezekiel (Zeke) Phoenix looks like Steven Stone from Pokémon.

I apologize in advance if the duel is terrible. Sorry. It's my first time writing one.

Jaina Yuki stood in line at the Duel Academy exam arena, her blue eyes wandering around the room and tried to figure out what was going on around the area. Mostly blue dressed students were all in the stands, overlooking the duels that she stood in line for and the female realized they were already in Duel Academy. Everyone in blue were the students that had been duel school for years. The ones that were in line, like herself, were the normal duel students that never been to a card game-Duel Monster-school, the entrance exam being the test to see if these duelists and herself can handle a duel school.

She let out a small breath as her blue eyes wander toward the silver haired male that was sitting on a bench, the one that talked to her earlier. He had pale grey eyes that seemed to be watching her before his eyes drifted toward the long haired male that stood by him that was holding a cat within his arms. She quickly looked away and turned back to the small, light blue haired boy with glass, who was frantically moving his small hands over his cards, going over his deck.

Drillriod

Earth / Level 4 Monster

Machine effect-Before battle damage calculation, if this card attacks a defense position Monster: destroy that monster

ATK 1600 / DEF 1600

The monster had a design of a drill that was painted white and purple, it looked to be standing on its gears like an actual person. It was even showing its white teeth on the card with a grin of victory.

Kiteriod

Wind / level 1 monster

Effect continuous (Meaning that the monster's effect remains as long as it's face up on the field) Machine effect- If you would take the battle damage from a direct attack, you can discard this card instead. While this card is in the graveyard, you can reduce the battle damage you take from a direct attack to 0. You can only activate this effect once per duel.

ATK 200 / DEF 400

The Duel Monster was like a giant kite that was in the shape of an airplane which seemed to have a yellow bar on the red wheels making it look like a glider. It was mostly purple that had a face of a dragon.

Power Bond

Card type spell / property normal

Send, from your hand or your side of the field to the Graveyard, Fusion Material Monsters that are listed on a Machine-Type Fusion Monster Card, and Special Summon that Fusion Monster from your Fusion Deck. (This Special Summon is treated as a Fusion Summon). The Special Summoned monster gains ATK equal to its original ATK. During the End Phase of this turn, the player who activated this card takes damage equal to the original ATK of the Special Summoned monster.

The card was a spell card with a metal mask and a blowtorch with bright blue fire that was like a spark within the card. Power Bond was a spell card that many people had trouble playing due to it being able to bring damage to its user. It surprises Jaina to see the card within the blue haired boy's deck because this meant he'll end up being placed in blue dorm easily the moment showed how to use it in a duel.

"Wow," Jaina said the blue haired boy. "Your deck is super cute."

The blue haired kid-Syrus Truesdale-had gone stiff and almost dropped his deck of Duel Monster cards onto the floor. He slowly turned his head to look at female that spoke behind him. She had long brown hair that was light brown along with blue eyes that were full of glee and wonder. "Uh, thanks." He greeted in a mumbled. Syrus was more surprise about a talking to him. Now one ever looked at him with such friendly eyes in a long time.

Jaina nods her head, smiling toward the boy. "You're welcome. I really like how the machines have such cute little faces." They were adorable. It made her recall cartoons characters that were machines and had some adorable looking faces.

"Yeah, they are." Syrus admits, looking away from the girl for a second. This was the first anyone ever called his deck cute or complimented his cards. Most of the time everyone was calling Zane's deck amazing because of how rare it was with powerbond.

"Next!" A voice came out by one of the Duel Academy teachers. Jaina and Syrus looked up and took notice it was Syrus's turn to duel.

"Oh, it seems to be my turn." Syrus answered nervously.

"It seems so." Jaina answered back. "I think you'll do great."

"Uh, thanks..." Syrus said, thanking the female only to realize he didn't know her name.

"Jaina Yuki."

"Thank you, Jaina Yuki. I'm Syrus Truesdale."

"Then good luck, Syrus Truesdale." Jaina adds with a wave of her hand, eyes watching the blue haired boy leave. Once Syrus was gone toward his own duel the female lets out a breath mentally prepare herself for her own. It would be her turn next and the nerves were building up within her. Because the moment she'd been waiting was going happen soon. Her chance to duel.

A chance to get into the best duel school in the country -some would even say the whole world- when it came to dueling and going into the major leagues. If anyone wanted to be the Next King of Games- the next Yugi Muto- then it was everyone's goal to get into the school Seto Kabia created for the future star duelist in the Pro leagues. Only she wanted to become a dueling instructor or teacher.

Jaden's dream was to be the next king of games. Not Jaina's.

"Next."

Jaina looked up at the sound and realized it was her turn. She moved forward and out onto the duel field, the white painted lines in the area were straight and lines the ground. There was at least ten different duels going on at the same time. Her blue eyes drift toward Syrus, who was dueling on the other side, three fields away from her.

Okay, you got this Jaina. The young female told herself over and over within her own mind. It's just a duel that will decide if you can get into duel academy. No pressure.

Maybe there was a lot of pressure. Her heart was beating fast in her chest, even her legs started to feel like they were weighted down. Her hands were slowly growing cold with nerves, hands even shaking with some amount of sweat gathering within her palms. Even when the young female duelist was telling herself to breath.

You'll be fine. You'll be fine. Jaina repeated to herself, trying to get her courage up.

"Are you ready?" A female duelist asked, standing on her side of the arena as Jaina entered on the other and stood across from the female.

Huh, no.

"Yeah." Jaina answered with a nod, clicking on her pink duel disk onto her arm.

"Let's Duel." Both females shouted in one voice. It echoed throughout the building.

Let's do this, Jaina, Yoko sounded, appearing as a spirit spread out behind the female duelist, wings flapping in the air.

The female duel examiner was the first to speak; "I'll go first."

Every player at the start of a duel has five cards from their deck in one hand. Then when it's your turn you draw one card from your deck. Adding up to six cards in your hand to play onto the duel field.

"I draw." The female duelist answered, drawing her six cards. "First I summon Gem-Knight Lapis in ack mode."

A player can only summon a level four or lower monster on their first turn, unless a monster has an effect in order to allow the player to summon a level five or higher monster.

"Attack mode?" Jaina questioned in disbelief. Not understanding why the duel examiner wouldn't put it in defense mode to begin the duel?

"I place one card face-down and end my turn." The female duelist answered. "Your move."

"Okay," Jaina answered, her pale hand going to the top of her deck. "I draw." Then she stared down at her six cards within her hand and wondered about what to do with the monster, spell, and trap cards she had within her hand.

It was two swirls of red and blue.

Jaina bait her lip, blue eyes going wide with worry as they settle onto the cards. What to do?

The female looked up toward the duel examiner for a moment before her blue eyes resettled onto her deck.

"Don't over think, Jaina." Yoko told her.

Breath. Jaina reminded herself. This is a test to see how well everyone will do in a duel school. So that means...

"Okay, first I play the spell card Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy your face down." Jaina watched as a wind tornado took across the field to destroy her opponent's face down card, once it disappeared in small tiny glitters of light. "Next I summon onto the field my most trusted partner Sunlight Unicorn in Attack Mode."

"I feel very insulted." Yoko mumbled, frowning.

"Now I activate Sunlight unicorn's special ability. If the top of my deck is an equip card I can add it to my hand." Jaina shouts as she prays to the heart of the cards to be with her and draw a card. Her blue eyes drifted downward to look at the card and she smiled;

Horn of the Unicorn

"Then I place two cards face-down and end my turn." Jaina shouts, setting down Negate Attack and Fusion Cycle onto the field.

A smile formed on Yoko's face. "Not bad."

"You passed the first test, but can you pass the next part?" The Female duel examiner asked, curious. They were testing every duelist that came in to duel them when it came to duel academy. Everyone in the duel school had to be smart enough to understand the basics and win. "I draw and then summon to the field Gem Knight Lapis."

Gem Knights Lapis

Winner Jaina

"Good job." The female duelist spoke, smiling.

"Thanks." Jaina answered, smiling. She did it. She was in. Duel Academy here she comes. She got lucky during that duel that all the cards she needed to win ended up within her hands. Maybe the heart of the cards were with me this time. But that doesn't mean they will be next time.

The dual examiner walked over, with a card in her hand. "For winning."

What? Jaina thought, surprised. The female quickly shook her head the moment she took notice of the card being handed to her. "I can't."

"Crystal rose is a fusion Monster that you can use as a base for your deck. I've given them to at least everyone that's defeated me. It's one of Kabia Corps new cards." The female explained.

"Thank you, I'll use it wisely and make you and Kabia corps card designs and creators proud." Jaina declared.

"Once again, all duel Academy applicants who have already passed their duel entrance exam please proceed to registration." An announcement was made over the loudspeaker. "For those who have failed, better luck next year."

Up in the stands, watching the duels, a grinning male with blond hair mocks in hismind. And have fun at Duel Monsters Community college.

Jaina let out a small breath as her eyes drifted toward Syrus and notice the smaller looking male was still dueling. She'll wait for Syrus before going to do what was asked of her. She wanted the nice blue haired boy that she met nearly an hour ago to pass the exam as well. This way she'll have a friend.

Syrus took more damage and winced. He was only at 500 life points. "Oh, man," he mumbled. I can barely concentrate with all these Academy kids staring at me. Judging me. What I would've given to already be enrolled in the school like them. Like his brother Zane had been and his brother's friend Alexis and her friend Chazz Princeton.

"Come on Syrus, you can do it!" Jaina shouts, encouraging him.

Syrus' grey eyes landed on Jaina. The female that he met in line. She was looking at him with such courage and determination that made him believe that he could win the duel. Someone was cheering him on. Someone that he barely even knows believed in him to win this duel and make his dream come true.

"You got it." Syrus exclaimed, a nod toward Jaina. He drew his next card. "I summon Patroid in attack mode."

Patroid

Earth / Level 4

Once per turn, during your Main Phase, you can look at 1 face-down card your opponent controls, then return it to its original position.

ATK 1200 / DEF 1200

Patroid was a police car with a hat and a smiling face and two eyes. Its arms and legs were made up on tiers.

"So, cute," Jaina cooed.

"Patroid, attack and win this duel."

The duel examiner points hit zero and Syrus won the duel.

"You did it. You won." Jaina shouts, running forward and hugging Syrus. She let out and punched her fist into the air. "We're going to duel academy."

"Yeah." Syrus exclaimed with a smile on his face.

"Now I need to find my brother."

"You're brother?"

"Jaden."

"I'll help you look." Syrus offered to the female.

Jaina smiled at him. "Thank you, Syrus. You're so nice."

"So are you."

Meanwhile on the other side of the stands, watching the duels. Three boys sat beside each other and overlooked the many duels down below. Sometimes they speak about what they liked and most of the time they just stared or were lost within their own minds.

One of the boys dressed in blue, the one sitting in the middle of his two friends. Black hair spiked and legged across in front of him, dark grey eyes overlooking everything carefully. His name was Chazz Princeton and he full heartedly believed he was the best duelist among the first years.

"What do you think, Chazz?" One of his friends, Taiyou Torimaki, asked him. His eyes we're on Jaina and the blue haired boy as the two teens walked toward the stands. "About the girl?"

"Deck's too girly," A female with brown hair and blue eyes that dressed in pink and wore a cute little red hat had a fairy deck. That's girly in his mind. "Nothing like Alexis." He commented bluntly.

"But she didn't lose a signal point."

"I call it luck," Chazz scoffed. Alexis doesn't need luck."

"You should really let your crush on Alexis go, dude." His friend commented. Everyone knows how that little crush turned out. Chazz thought about asking Alexis on a date and made a fool of himself within one duel all because he had a crush on her. Even though Alexis' true love was dueling and no guy could come between her and a good duel.

"There's still a chance." Chazz grumbled to himself, eyes drifting toward where Alexis was standing beside Zane. After all, Alexis and he have been in the same duel school for years. They know each other. Plus, they were still close friends at the end of the day. Even if she didn't return his feelings, then he could still keep her safe because the place they would soon be joining her brother never returned from.

He'd keep her safe until her brother was found. That he promised.

At the Arena's front door a Duel Academy official checked the list of applicants. He turned to his two assistants standing nearby. "Well, it looks like that's it. Whoever hasn't shown up by now is out of luck."

Jaden heard the officials' words and climbed up the cement well near the entrance and hoisted himself over the metal rail. Just like how he used to play Monkey with Jaina when they were younger-him always acting like a monkey which made her smile and laugh whenever the female twin was sad or gloomy.

"Wait!" he shouts at the top of his lungs.

The officials and his female assistants gaped in surprise to see the young man.

"I'm no no-show. You can count Jaden Yuki as a present, thank you!" He exclaimed with a grin on his face. "Well, just as long as I don't lose my grip

This was going to be a fun day.

Jaina and Syrus had looked around the test exam area and in the stands. They couldn't find Jaden anywhere among the crowd of duelists. All they could hear were cheers and voices from the spectator area, Jaden's heart began to pound with excitement. It would be his time to duel real soon in front of everyone gathered to show he'll be the next king of games. He spotted his sister standing beside a blue haired boy that was looking around with her as Jaden gave a laugh and stood beside them.

Jaina nearly jumped for joy once she saw him. "Jaden. There you are."

"Wow look at them go." Jaden exclaimed, eyes on the duel and not paying any attention to his sister. His body stayed leaned against the rail, watching the duel taking place below them

A confident-looking boy with brown hair was facing off an academy examiner, a man in a blue uniform and dark glasses. Two graphic images of duel monsters stood on the field in front of him

"All right, new guy, multiple choice." The examiner sneered. "You got two monsters staring you down. Do you A, Throw in the towel? B, beg for mercy? Or C, run home to momma?"

The young duelist remained calm and spoke in an accent, "I'll go with D, none of the above." Them the male revealed his face down card.

"A trap?" The Duel examiner questioned.

"Exactly!" The Duelist responded. "With Ring of Destruction, I can destroy any Monster on the field that's in attack mode, and then we both take damage equal to that Monster's attack points." Which made him win the game.

"Clever move, applicant. Welcome to the Academy."

"Thank you, wise proctor." The duelist said in a bow.

Meanwhile in the stands on the other side of the way with Chazz and his friends. They had been watching the duel, but none cheered at the victory. It was another boring duel the three males had to sit through.

"Wow." One of Chazz's friends spoke in surprise, impressed with the kids dueling. "That guy's pretty good. Don't you think, Chazz?"

"Guess the rumors about him being some kind of whiz-kid were true." His other friend commented. "Huh, Chazz? Huh?"

Chazz kept his black eyes narrowed toward the ground, staring at his black pants. He soaked in his friend's words for a moment and let the words ring in his ears. He lifted his head and eyes upward as he spoke his next words; "He's a punk." This Bastion didn't stand a chance against someone in the blue dorm. "We went to dual prep school for the past three years. We're ready for the Academy." The rest of the kids in this exam weren't ready on Princeton's mind. They'll win off luck by pure change. Chazz will win every signal time with his skills alone. "These kids don't know what they're getting into but they'll learn. The hard way. The Chazz Princeton way."

Jaina, Syrus, and Jaden stood beside each other after the duel and seemed to be in a trance about how well Bastion had done. That duelist was rather skilled and very good at knowing when to play his cards. Using Ring of Destruction was a move that needed to be perfectly calculated. It was a bold choice, and that duelist had done it perfectly.

"Wow. That last guy really tore it up." Jaden remarked, arms crossed in front of him.

Syrus gave a nod and breathed out a quiet, "Yeah. Bastion Misawa. They say he got the highest score on the written exam of all of us applicants."

"Wow. That's impressive." Jaina comments with a grin on her face.

"Wow. I barely passed." Jaden admits.

Jaina shook her head toward her twin brother. "I helped you study for hours." How could Jaden barley pass? Unless he slept through the first half of the test.

"Still wasn't enough." Jaden admits to his sister with a small shrug. "You know I duel better than a test."

"I barely passed as well," Syrus admits to the twins. "My name is Syrus by the way. I'm guessing your Jaina's brother Jaden, right?"

"Yep, that's me." Jaden said with a grin on his face, pointing his index finger toward himself.

"Nice to meet you." Syrus admits, then he moved his head downward to stare at the metal rail, eyes dropping toward his shoes. "I kind of have a thing where I get test anxiety. I don't know how I won my match." He mumbled to himself. How had he won his match? By luck or was it because Jaina was cheering him on? He honestly didn't know.

"So you're in?" Jaden asked.

"Yup," Syrus answered, almost as if he didn't believe it himself.

"Me, too." Jaina answered, a grin on her face.

"Congratulations!" Jaden cried to both his sister and new friend. "I'll be in, too, as soon as I win my duel."

Jaina blinked her blue eyes three times. Jaden's words were taking their time go through her mind. She didn't understand what her brother was talking about. "What?" she mumbled in shock. "I thought you dueled already by climbing out the window to get here!"

"I fell out of bed this morning," Jaden admits, quietly. He rubbed the back of his head with his hand. "My bad."

"Oh dear. Oh dear." Jaina mumbled. This was not good. All of the duels were over. "How are you going to get in now?" How was Jaden going to have a test duel? This was very bad. If only she checked the floor, then Jaden would've made it in time?

"When I win my duel."

"You might have a problem." Syrus said nervously. "I think this was supposed to be the last duel."

All three sets of eyes drifted toward the Academy officials that were huddling together and talking. They were clearly deciding on what to do about Jaden. Jaina could only hope they let her brother get the chance to duel and get into the school.

Please, heart of the cards, please. Help Jaden get into the school, please. Jaina thought, praying to the Duel Monster gods.

"We have a lot of good duelist this year." Zeke comments, moving up toward the stands and away from Banner. He needed some time to himself. The young man took notice of Dr. Crowler dressed in blue and overlooking the whole exam area, which was starting to end. "Did any of them catch your eye?"

"Honestly, no." Crowler scoffed toward Banner's new teacher assistant. Now Duel Academy had two teachers showing students random subjects in a classroom that didn't matter to dueling. How pointless? He pitied the first years. Sort of.

A man came forward and spoke, "I'm sorry to interrupt, but one last applicant has arrived to take his exam, Mr. Crowler."

Crowler caught the tone of voice and the one word he hated the most. "Did you just call me Mister?" he questioned.

The man quickly corrected himself. "I'm sorry, I'm new here Mrs."

That made Crowler even more furious by the minute. His blonde hair might be sectioned in two layers, with the layer farthest from his face tightly-bound in a ponytail, and he also wears crescent-shaped earrings .But he was no female. Nor was he a Mister. He was a Doctor. Even the fool known as Banner could get that correct.

"I have a PHD in dueling," Crowler spat. "I've earned the title doctor, thank you. Now tell the truant that he'll just have to come back next year."

"Oh, come on, Doctor Crowler." Zeke complained toward the older male, who out ranked him by all means, but he was one to have a say about how he felt on the subject. "We have time for one more. And if no one else is up to the task than I'll do it?" He'll duel the kid. He wasn't doing anything except watching the duels alongside Banner, talking about lesson plans, and even bring up his brother Aster in conversation.

"Mr. Phoenix is right. Let's give this duelist a shot." Another male answered, agreeing with the young boy's words.

"He was just a bit late. That's all." Another teacher comments.

Crowler brought his shoulders together and looked ready to explode before bursting out in a shout, which made everyone jump back and away from him, "Late is rude." He brought his hands up into the air for a quick moment before bringing them down onto the chair in front of him before standing up, ready to leave. "I have no time for slackers."

Then Crowler's phone went off.

"Saved by the cell." Zeke mumbled in relief.

Crowler answered his phone and spat, "Hello and who may I ask this-"

"It's Sheppard."

Crowler's tone changed to a more friendly tone. "Oh, Chancellor Sheppard.

"Just calling to make sure that everything's running smoothly, Crowler." He really didn't want a repeat of what happened last year. Mr. Kabia nearly fired everyone because of the lack of students last year all because of Crowler got picked about what people called him. Thank the duel spirits for Kabia's younger brother being able to calm the boss down. "Wouldn't want a repeat of what happened last year."

Crowler let out a small breath, terrified. He didn't want that either.

"When you cut a third of our student applicants for some ridiculous reason." Sheppard was still paying dearly for that mistake. If only he caught it soon, then they would've had a larger group of first years than the forty second years they had now. "What was it-calling you Mr. or Mrs. Whatever? Just make sure everyone gets a fair shot."

Now he did have to test the late little runt. "Absolutely." Crowler answered, turning off the cell phone and mumbled to himself. "Furry chinned windbag." Doesn't he realize that there are enough talentless flunkies at this academy, but he's the boss and if he wants to give this scrim shanker a duel? Fine. He'll do it. But he wouldn't like it one bit. "Pardon me gentlemen." He spoke out loud to everyone. "I'll be right back."

"But who's gonna duel-"

"I am." Crowler answered.

"But what kind of deck-"

"Leave that to me, Mr. Phoenix."

Zeke felt uneasily about Doctor Crowler's words. What was the good Doctor planning?

That's it for now. I do like how the duel turned out in the end, but it is my first time writing one. So very sorry if no one likes it. At least I don't need to worry about creating another duel for a while. Her deck has cards from Luna's and Zuzu's, along with a few from Tea's. Originally Jaina's deck was going to be Luna's, but since fusion cards are important to GX I included some of Zuzu's.

The duelist Jaina dueled will be seen again in future. Why? Because the person is important to a story line within the story. Plus, why Jaina didn't lose any points is because her deck was created to personally duel Jaden.

Yes, Chazz has a crush on Alexis already because it has to be included somehow, but there is a friendship between the two. In other words, Chazz and Alexis know each other from duel school and are close friends because of how Alexis introduced Chazz to Jaden and Syrus in episode 2 of GX. More will be explored with that plotline later.

The Syrus and Jaina friendship is on the way. Which I find kind of cute.

Either way. Next chapter will have Jaden Vs Crowler.
